Why Toronto is Not Just All Business

"Built around an impressive Mediterranean tasting menu, this spot shines with standouts like chickpea fritters and wagyu tartare cannoli, and no visit is complete without a drink from 2024 MICHELIN Guide Toronto Exceptional Cocktails Award winner Shayne Herbert." - Michael He

Azura’s blind tasting course was truly delicious. Some of the courses are super creative and others are more traditional, but it was a really nice meal. Had the cocktail paring along with the food and the cocktails were phenomenal! The service was lovely, our server was delightful. And the restaurant and atmosphere were perfect, lively without a lot of noise which was nice. Very nice experience overall

Azura at Danford is truly a one-of-a-kind experience in Toronto! Our evening began in the garden with beautifully crafted cocktails with Olive oil (first time I’ve come across anything like that!) and bite-sized appetizers served on a bed of fresh leaves and flowers - such an impressive start. Afterwards, we transitioned into a 15-course dinner that was nothing short of extraordinary. Every dish was meticulously prepared, offering layers of flavor that blended harmoniously with each bite carried its own unique notes. What impressed me even more was the attention given to vegan and vegetarian alternatives, which were just as thoughtful and delicious as the non-vegetarian options. The service was outstanding! The staff were not only attentive, but also shared the stories and inspiration behind every dish, making the entire experience richer and more memorable. Their passion for what they do truly shows. I highly recommend Azura at Danford for a special occasion, a foodie adventure, or anyone looking for a dining experience unlike anything else in the city. This is a hidden gem that absolutely deserves more recognition!

Went to Azura for a date night with my fiancée, and was blown away by the experience. The staff reached out beforehand to ask about dietary restrictions and allergies (since that would inform the direction of the blind tasting menu). From the moment we arrived to when we stepped out the door, service was incredibly attentive. Each dish was plated beautifully, and sourced with local ingredients. We were told that the menu changes every day (and for those like us who care, you're given a copy of your menu at the end of your meal so you can remember what each of the unique dishes actually was). Would absolutely recommend Azura to anyone looking for an intimate tasting menu and a wonderful evening!

Google
That was the worst food I have ever had. The flavors were completely unbalanced, and the fish dishes were not fresh at all — they had a strong fishy smell that made them hard to eat. Other dishes felt confusing, as if the chef didn’t really know what they were trying to create. Overall, it was a very disappointing and unpleasant dining experience. I would not recommend this restaurant. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere better.

Google
Absolutely recommend this spot. The food is creative and well-balanced — a great mix of Mediterranean flavours with a bit of Asian fusion here and there. Some dishes were a little underwhelming and felt like they were missing that final touch, maybe could’ve been combined or refined for more depth. But overall, the menu was really solid. Service was amazing — super friendly and attentive. The meal did take a bit longer than expected, probably due to a small team and not many tables, but it didn’t feel rushed, just a slower-paced evening. Loved the little Polaroid at the end — such a sweet, personal touch that made the night feel extra special. It was a really enjoyable experience, perfect for a chill but memorable gathering. I’d definitely come back, especially to try the wine pairing. Did a bit of digging on the co-owner and chefs — it really feels like this isn’t just another business to them. You can tell they’re doing it out of passion, and it shows in the food. They’ve got other ventures that probably help support this place, which is kind of cool. Just feels genuine, and you can taste that in the whole experience.

We had an amazing meal at Azura for a special occasion. Each course was creative, delicious and perfectly balanced. The wine pairing was very interesting and we learned some history from the sommelier as well. Service was impeccable. They even brought us a tiny birthday cake with a candle at the end. Great experience overall :) I hope more people discover this gem of a restaurant!!

Google
Michelin star worthy. Service, food, ambience is all top notch for a very reasonably priced tasting menu. I cannot recommend this place enough. Seasonal menus with very exciting and varied flavours and textures. Run here, don't walk.

Yelp
This is a Michelin guided restaurant. Food was spectacular and service was great. They have a rotating blind tasting menu. I got the wine pairing and it was well worth it. Our server took his time to explain each wine and its origins. I think the price is well worth its value. Highly recommend and I hope this business continues to thrive

Yelp
If you enjoy bold flavours, Azura's tasting menu ($128 per person) will have your tastebuds in a tizzy. And since the restaurant serves a blind tasting menu, your taste buds won't know what's to come as they're introduced to spices, herbs, and sauces galore. Focused on foods from the Mediterranean, the canapés begin with a Moroccan flair. The beet tart was beautiful to behold but also surprisingly bitter for a dish made with sweet root vegetables. The beets did little to stave off the bitter bite from the rhubarb harissa paste and small white flowers. The geraniums also made the tart much too floral tasting. As beautiful as it was, it was a disappointing start. The avgotaraho moved the menu in the right direction, a crispy piece of panisse topped with labneh and red mullet roe. It's creamy, salty, tangy, and messy to eat. I'd recommend making the panisse based thinner and wider so it becomes more of a two-bite canapé and would also allow the panisse to taste less dense. Progressively things became tastier, the cigar looking concoction revealing a smoked cannoli stuffed with albacore tuna. It's a delicious burst of smokiness balanced with acidity and a host of spices. To end the canapés, a shrimp mousse piped into choux pastry, which had a sweet and savoury element. I loved the bright ingredients of pickled rhubarb and preserved citrus that helped lighten the umami-laced cream, Chef Adam should consider using this mousse in the beet tart. Despite the scallop being overpowered by the date and pomegranate vinegarette, it was nonetheless prepared beautifully, so clean and luscious. Covered in creamy avocado and topped with salty fried okra and chili slices, it's a starter that offers so many flavours and textures. This is a long post, for the rest go to Gastro world.

Yelp
I recently had the pleasure of dining at what can only be described as a truly extraordinary Mediterranean restaurant. Our dinner party selected the 11-course blind tasting menu, which was a culinary journey that exceeded every expectation. From the very first bite, I could tell this was going to be a meal to remember. The tasting menu is billed as a Mediterranean culinary experience, and it delivers on every level. Each dish was thoughtfully crafted, bursting with flavour, and delivered with a level of innovation that left us in awe. The opening dish--a scallop ice cream topped with caviar--was an unexpected yet delightful surprise that set the tone for what was to come. As the courses flowed, they continued to impress, with flavors that were bold, fresh, and perfectly balanced. One aspect that really stood out was how the restaurant handled dietary restrictions. One of our guests did not prefer pork, and the staff went out of their way to ensure they were fully accommodated. I was particularly impressed that the restaurant called a few days before our reservation to inquire about any dietary needs. This level of attentiveness shows the meticulous planning that goes into every aspect of the dining experience here. Service was exceptional from start to finish. The staff was not only friendly but incredibly knowledgeable about each dish, providing detailed descriptions that enhanced the overall experience. They were prompt and attentive without being intrusive, ensuring everything ran smoothly and that we were always taken care of. For wine lovers, I highly recommend opting for the wine pairing. Four distinct wines were paired with the courses, each carefully selected to complement the flavours of the dishes. Each wine came with a brief history lesson, adding a personal touch that deepened my appreciation of each pour. Prior to the wine pairing, I had the "Forbidden Fruit" cocktail, which was silky-smooth and a fantastic way to begin the evening. Not a single dish was a letdown. The entire experience, from the food to the service, was flawless. Whether you're looking for a romantic evening, celebrating a special occasion, or simply want a remarkable dining experience, this restaurant is an excellent choice. But what truly sets Azura apart is the thoughtful touches at the end of the meal. As a parting gesture, they take a polaroid picture of you to capture the moment, offering it as a keepsake of the evening. Additionally, they present you with a beautifully printed version of the week's menu, a lovely souvenir of the culinary journey you just enjoyed. These details elevate the dining experience, making it one you'll want to relive again and again. A few tips for planning your visit: reservations can be made online, and I would strongly recommend booking in advance as this place is understandably popular. There are two Green P parking lots nearby, though they can fill up quickly given the area's popularity, so you may need to use street parking. If you're taking public transit, the Broadview TTC station is just a few minutes away.

Yelp
The intimate vibes here are unmatched, and they've found a way to build a cozy intimate setting within the hustle and bustle of the city. It's a great for a date night or cozy setting to gather with friends. The menu is experimental with lots of different and unlikely flavour combinations-- definitely suitable for adventurous eaters, and priced reasonably, though I will say not all the food items hit the mark for me personally. I also love the inclusivity of their drink pairings as they offer both alcoholic and non alcoholic drink pairings with their tasting menu. Service is the best I've had in years and they carry an upscale demeanour while still being very down to earth and friendly. The staff are knowledgeable on the drinks and foods. They also send you home with a Polaroid and copy of the tasting menu to commemorate the experience, and as we were celebrating our anniversary on this specific occasion, they also made a very personal handwritten card-- a perfect touch to an intimate dinner! The only downsides for me were that not all food items hit the mark for me, and that the wait time between items was a tad longer than desired (the full 11 course meal took 3hr), but all things considered, I still had an amazing time here

Yelp
It was such a pleasure to come here for my birthday! This was such a fun experience, good job to the boyfriend for discovering this hidden gem. First off let's start with the service, EVERYONE there was super professional, attentive and passionate about their job. Extremely knowledgable about the menu and ingredients used for each dish. The ambiance was nice, chill yet classy. Every dish I had during my 6 course was amazing. I had such a great time listening about every ingredient used and the mediterranean flavour combos. I also had a wine pairing for my dishes, which enhanced the flavours of each of my meals even more. Their cocktails were also amazingly delicious as well as their non-alcoholic drinks. Ive heard that their menu rotates often or everyday so I can't wait to come back and try the other dishes.

Yelp
Service is excellent! The waiters were super attentive and even moved us to a new table when they realized we were cold. The ambiance is relaxing and cozy. We did the blind tasting menu, and it was pretty unique and interesting. It was a fusion of Mediterranean's and Moroccan food. I personally did not think the wagyu add on for $55 was worth it, but worth a try if you want! They give you a hand written card, menu and a Polaroid to remember your experience at the end which is a cute touch!

Yelp
Went for an anniversary and found myself in a thoughtful environment. Servers were very knowledgeable, the food was beautiful and delicious to boot!

Yelp
Okay, so I'm not an avid diner these days (mainly because of the prices), but I thought I'd get out of the house and try this new place on the Danforth because a multi-course tasting menu sounded adventurous and fun. All I can say is wow. Azura truly delivers! The food, presentation and service really make you feel like a VIP. You get about eight or nine dishes (honestly, I stopped counting after five) and all of them are top-notch. Meat, seafood, pastry, two desserts (yes, two!) - there was a lot of variety. I didn't know what some of the dishes were, but it didn't matter because they tasted so good. My two favourites were the tomato tart, and the fig cake. The tomato tart was this delectable pastry in the shape of a flower, served on a bed of petals, and the fig cake was like a Fig Newton taken to the max! Seriously, this is what modern dining should be like. I stopped going out to eat because I was tired of paying a lot of money for average food that I could make at home. Let me tell you - there's nothing average about Azura and I certainly can't make their dishes at home, no matter how much time you give me. If you can, then you're most definitely a 5-star chef.

Andrea Y.

Yelp
First of all, the atmosphere is modern Mediterranean which is appealing and approachable but the service and the food is top tier. I couldn't tell you enough how amazing everything was. It was an amazing dining experience and one to rlly try out.

Yelp
This place is your next hidden gem. Get in here quick before the wait for a reservation is weeks. Food and service IMPECCABLE. We had the blind 10-course tasting menu. We will be back for the next one. They were extremely accommodating - their drink pairings are AMAZING, spot on, and complementary. Cocktails crafted with precision and care - and a beautiful logo stamp on their ice. Ask for the off-menu "FitzSpritz". Elegant ambience. Add it to your list of must try's. They left us with a detailed list of the entire experience which was a very nice touch. Only 2 weeks in and they are a well oiled machine with every detail thought out perfectly - yet they were still actively collecting feedback to improve the experience. Will be back very soon!
