B-ACK Yard BBQ

My wife got a cheeseburger she loved (said the flavor was amazing), and I really enjoyed the smoked beef brisket. On top of this food though, was Josh, our server, who, after letting know I had specifical dietary concerns, went above and beyond to accommodate them. What's more, he gave us some great touring advice, and directions to get there. By the time we left the Island, we actually said by to Josh b/c he was part of what made it a great trip.

Overall, good. If you have a craving for a good bbq meat, you find it. Sausage , cornbread, asparagus, and brisket were delicious. Great strawberry margarita. Service needs to be improved. Servers looked tired, exhausted, annoyed from customers and their requests... if I leave the service on the side, it is a good place with dissent food.

Saw an IG post about their breakfast and made sure to stop by to grab their smokehouse benedict. They put poached eggs on top of layers of pastrami on top of cornbread with a side of home fries. I maybe got less bearnaise sauce as I had seen in the photo, but I did also take it to go. The poached eggs were done perfectly and I was able to try each of their three bbq sauces throughout. It was a solid meal to start the day. The guys behind the bar were very friendly as well. I would come back to eat here for lunch or dinner.

I ordered takeout. I got 12 wings, and a half chicken. The wings were supposed to come with blue cheese but they didn't give it to me. The half chicken was 2 tiny pieces of chicken. I was never asked about sauces and was not given any. Now I am just eating dry meat without the sauces. I am not one to write reviews but I am very dissatisfied.

We had an amazing lunch with Jacob as our server. He was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the food choices plus history of the restaurant. I had the pork shoulder. Being from Virginia, we love pork BBQ. This was fantastic with fantastic cornbread as my side. My native Texas husband had the burnt ends which he inhaled. He indicated that if we lived in Nantucket, he’d regularly have it. Texans love their bbq and he loved this.

Food was pretty good but the service was brutal. My beer was flat so I didn't drink it. When I asked if they could comp it, the server / owner (?) immediately became argumentative over a flat, $12 beer.

We are not big BBQ eaters, so us stopping at a bbq joint for lunch isn't a norm. The food here is incredible. The chowder was fantastic; as was the cornbread. A must try Our brisket sandwich and the “ Big Pig” sandwich were the best brisket and pulled pork we have ever had. Saying something since we are from Oklahoma. Only downfall is no “Diet Coke”- Pepsi products only lol Gus gave us Fantastic, friendly service. Give ‘ em a try, you wont regret it.

Arrived mid afternoon hoping for an early dinner prior to catching our ferry. A server seated my spouse and I outside at a good table. We waited about 10mins for a different server to tell us they'd be with us shortly, after about 15mins they returned and asked if we wanted drinks, we asked what she had and she said she'd be right back. About another 15mins later she put a drinks menu in front of us and disappeared again saying "I'll be back" when we tried to order food. Through our 50min total wait we noted that other parties of customers were getting service despite arriving later than us. We really knew things were bad after about the 40min mark when the friendly group of strangers sat on the table next to us took notice of how long we had waited and it became their hot topic/joke about how long we had been waiting for anything other than water. When 50mins had come we gathered our things, stood from the table to leave and the server arrived. To which I said to "forget it". Reading the other reviews it seems like this is a regular occurence that goes continually unresolved. The food looked Devine, wish we could have tried some.

What a fun place in a great location to grab a drink. I got the impression that this is mostly inhabited by locals. Came here after dinner at Cru for a more casual vibe. Right next to the wharf and the cute cobblestone streets.

BYB is always the go to for quick delicious bbq, staff is great, friendly and always serve a delicious cold draft beer! Bbq is what you expect from nantucket, juicy, flavorful, Smokey. Always go to for lunch or to watch a game on one of their many Televisions.

Went in after a double header of hockey and we're waiting for the next ferry. Service was very good. Was greeted at the door by the manager and she let us store our hockey bags by the bar. Sat immediately and server came right over with water and took our drink orders. Drinks came in good time and food order was placed. Two of the adults ordered bbq options and one adult orders the double cheeseburger. One child ordered the Spivey chicken sandwich and the other child ordered the special, chicken bacon ranch sandwich. Food came out in good time and the portions were huge! The chicken sander over lapped the big bun they were on, the burger was nice and juicy covered in cheese. The bbq options were cooked perfectly! Next time we're on the island we will define going back there!

We sat at the bar and were greeted by Gus. He was very attentive and offered us a lot of good suggestions for beer and food. The crab dip was creamy and full of flavor. The NE Clam Chowder was delicious and filling. The pulled pork was delicious and not at all greasy. The truffle fries were delicious. We would definitely come back.

So this was my hangover food before I got on the ferry. Real good dry rub bbq wings and ribs. This is actually a really good barbecue restaurant and they do have sauces that you can add on to the dry rub. They have really good Bloody Mary made by very friendly bartender Chris. ( He's famous) This was a good choice before we left Nantucket.

I met an old friend here for dinner on a Saturday night at 6pm in late Sept. There were plenty of tables open. Nice touch here is that they serve all the local Cisco beers and spirits. I started with a Triple 8 Martini. BBQ can really aggravate my acid reflux - so while I love it - I gotta be careful. I wasn't super hungry - so I ordered the smoked chicken wings (dry rub) and a side of their Mac and cheese. The wings were nice and smokey and very flavorful, and they were nice and meaty. The mac and cheese was super creamy and really hit the spot of decadence. It was nice that they did not rush us at all and we could chat without feeling like we had to free up a table. I got the sense that this is a spot on the island that the locals embrace too.

Shockingly good bbq for Nantucket. I've been here 3 times now and will keep coming back. Good selection of beer and drinks. They have 3 homemade hot sauces which are all really good. I've tried a number of their sides all good (I can't ever pass up the Mac and cheese). A good place to watch a game.

My husband and I ate here on a day trip to Nantucket Island. Food was good. We both had the Alabama burger. Brisket was just okay. It tasted like it was made in the oven. No smoke flavor at all. Potato salad was good, and my husband's corn salad was great. Nice atmosphere! Service was fast and they were nice.

The brisket is in its own jus which is delicious. Ribs nice and tender. Mac & cheese was nice and creamy. The street corn salad was AMAZINGGGGG. Also my friend is gluten free (celiac allergy) and they were so accommodating. They had a gluten free option for everything she wanted. It's reasonably priced for Nantucket standards. Good vibes inside as well. Watch out for those meat sweats!!

Wow. Really impressed. Meat was really good, portions were large, and the pricing, especially for Nantucket was reasonable. Will definitely be going back. Staff was good and attentive.

One priced but not mad because of its location it's super convenient to eat here before or after a ferry ride. Their dry rub wings are missing something for me but overall decent 7.5/10 in flavor, texture, and doneness of chicken. One of my favorite side dishes from here is their macaroni and cheese, which is so good and made even better with the addition of cheese crumbles on top. I appreciate that they offer sauces to accompany take-out orders and it is always a smooth process to order, pay and pick up your food in the event that you are in a hurry.

An island staple. Staff is next level. Hope to get deeper into the menu next time thru.

This place is awesome. If you want substance and quality, then I highly recommend. Great food and atmosphere...makes my pu$$y moist!

Came here for lunch and really enjoyed my meal! I got the blackened salmon sandwich with mac and cheese. The salmon was cooked well and the combination of flavors was tasty. The mac and cheese was delicious and the staff was friendly. We walked in around 12 on a Saturday and had no problem getting a table.

Server was attentive and knowledgeable about gluten free options. The Big Pig pulled pork sammie was delicious. And the ranchero baked beans a great side dish. Would definitely visit again!

Best French fries I've ever had! Nice staff and fun atmosphere. If you're gluten free and enjoy cider try this one.

Service was excellent! Our waiter was very attentive. I had the Lobster roll (warmed with butter) and it was absolutely delicious. I picked the Mac & cheese for my side and it was delicious!

Fabulous food and service. The restaurant is spotless, and service couldn't be better. Prices couldn't be more fair considering the quality of the food. Lobster roll and hand cut fries are amongst the best I ever had. A must if you're in the area.

I'm quite certain this was the best impromptu meal on the island. Service was excellent. Split the big pig and they graciously accommodated. Water glass was never empty! The sauce options there were 3 - went with the original and it was fantastic! The fries were super! The peak and eat shrimp were fresh maybe a little over seasoned but tasty.

Great food and staff! I had a blackened salmon wrap with the street corn side and it was delicious. Great added touch with the pickled onions and pickles that were not overly pickled. Nice choice of sides. Our waitress from Bulgaria was super friendly and on top of refilling my drinks.

Decent food however the server came to the table 2 was inattentive and got upset when I left him a low tip making an audible comment on it. Then made my friends aware of the low tip I should add the meal ended at 221$ the tip was 5$ I could've done more but I needed money for an Uber

Please do yourself a favor and avoid this place if you're craving good BBQ. The food is bland and tasteless, the sauces do not make it any better. While the staff is somewhat friendly ??? The food sucks.

Excellent food!!! Our group of 4 loved everything we got. Blackened salmon sandwich was moist and so flavorful. All of the sides are yummy and it was hard to choose. Excellent food!

Good bbq, fair priced for Nantucket. How many atmosphere and warm service. I recommend.

We came her during Stroll weekend and we were all pleasantly surprised! Somehow, our large group was able to walk right in and get a table (it was a bar type of table that was standing only) but it worked! We were starving and we were happy to even get into a place on such a busy weekend. The place was PACKED but the service was pretty good considering how many people were there. We were able to get our drinks (I got a few pumpkin beers, and others in my party got bloody marys) and everyone was pleased with their drinks. The food was also AMAZING. We got a little of everything, and I have to say, out of that whole weekend, this was my favorite food stop of the trip. I would definitely come back here during my next trip to Nantucket.

As someone with a gluten allergy, I never know what to expect when a restaurant says they can accommodate me. bACKyard BBQ went above and beyond. 24 hours later I can tell you that I will eat here again. Not only did I not get "glutened" but everything we ate was also tasty! The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Multiple people made sure I got what I wanted, everything gluten free came out on a separate tray, and checked in to make sure everything was perfect. The games were on, the Nantucket Blue was flowing, great time! Many thanks to the staff!

A chill and relaxed atmosphere which is not always the case here on ACK. I've been lucky enough to try some of the best places in Memphis (too many to mention) and further south into Jackson (Pig n Pint) and Hattiesburg (Leatha's) Mississippi. This isn't going to match that level, and I missed the more intense smoke flavor on the meat, but it's good BBQ for this part of the country and outstanding for a seasonal place on an island off of MA. The sides are mostly respectable. And that's a sign of a decent BBQ joint.

Great service, everyone is very friendly. Food is subpar but only BBQ on the island. Very expensive for what it is.

Lobster roll was wonderful as was the cornbread, Mac and cheese and street corn. Recommend this place for sure!!

Beer was excellent. They had Maine Dinner on draft. The pulled pork nachos were ok. They used a cheese sauce instead of melting cheese. It was a special so I assumed melted cheese but we got cheese sauce. Brisket was in an au jus which didn't really work for me. The wings had a dry rub but were decent. Everything was made well, just didn't land for me and my palate. Sauces were good and had good flavor.

This place was a nice change from all the seafood I gourged on during my trip to the islands. Items sampled: Did Chili instread of Chowder. Chili was very good - had frito chips around the bowl and those added a nice texture. Chili was a touch sweet than I prefer - I like it more hearty but the barbeque sauces on the table (there are three - hot, mild and something in between I believe) could be used to mix in and so I did that. We got a lb of brisket - chopped and got a salad and made a salad - trying to avoid all the carbs if I can. Brisket was good but not great. Definitely have had better and so just can't give them 5 stars when the BBQ doesn't set itself apart. I mean best you are going to get on Nantucket but that's like saying the fried chicken at the KFC on Wilshire is best in Beverly Hills - I mean no other offerings so if you want BBQ on the Island then BYB is where you are going to go. I'd return - great spot to watch sports and people watch if you sit outside or near window as people go to and from to the ferries. Service was fine - didn't stand out but perfunctory.

We have been trying to come into BYB for the past two days but there has been a wait every time and now we know why! This mouth watering bbq joint in the port of Nantucket is a must stop in or out... the staff was fantastic our bartender Armani was fantastic and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. The manager Denise was also super nice!!! Now for the main event... the fooooood was really impressive for bbq! We let Armani pick got us and we had the burnt ends and the ribs. The sauces the pickled onions the corn salad and those fries!!! I guess today will be my cheat day because I couldn't stop eating Needless to say we will be B - ACK!!

We stopped by for quick few drinks before boarding our boat back to main land. Quick service. Great drinks - we enjoy nice bourbon cocktails - and BYB gave just that. We'd love to try their food next time when we are in Nantucket.

Gluten free Heaven! Our waitress, Mary, was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and what was gluten free (or could be made gluten free with the rolls). I had the brisket sandwich with the Mexican street corn and it was all so good! She even recommended the cinnamon dipped glass for my Downeast pumpkin beer. Highly recommend this place, all of my girlfriends loved it too.

Food was ok somewhat dry, drinks were very good. Service was very good, Ambiance was very nice. Unfortunately is was overpriced.

I can only speak to the atmosphere and the hot chicken sandwich, both of which are a 10/10. There is no food I order out more than chicken sandwiches, I have tried probably hundreds (including many of peoples national favorites, eg. Hattie B's). Back Yard BBQ has the best chicken sandwich I have ever had. I definitely didn't come here expecting anything close. In fact, if anything, I probably tried to downplay how good it was after my first time having it, because expectations just weren't that high (and honestly I don't want this kind of random place in Nantucket be THIS good at making hot chicken) but I have to be honest, it is the best I've ever had. I would come here for the hot chicken if it was hole in the wall but it was actually also good place to have a beer and watch a game.

I got the Nashville hot chicken and the white sangria, my husband got Alabama sandwich, we both enjoyed our meal. The side of Mac and cheese was great, a little more coleslaw or coleslaw on the chicken sandwich would have been nice. Spencer was very helpful and we enjoyed talking to him.

Love this spot. Great food. Lots of options. Nice location close to the boat. Great people. The sauces are house made and we love the Gold. Denise does a great job making sure everyone is taken care. BYB is a great place to catch a game. Great T.V.'s Great energy.

Came here our first night in Nantucket. service was excellent, food was amazing. Had the Alabama brisket sandwich with the white BBQ sauce and it was outstanding Brisket. A great location too. Didnt bring the kids but I did notice a kids menu, and the laid back vibe would be a great Place for families too.

Backyard BBQ provides great BBQ in the sea of Nantucket fish based restaurants. The casual atmosphere and sports bar style inside would seem like a great place to watch a game post-Covid restrictions. If you're looking for a decent lobster roll while eating with those who don't like seafood this is a great spot. The Alabama Rodeo burger is the best deal on the menu. Don't sleep on the cornbread or Mac and cheese as sides!

Food tastes great, service was good food took probably 10-15 minutes had no complaints, ambiance was nice music was a good volume, the lights are the perfect brightness. Highly recommended.

Backyard catered an event for our neighborhood of about 50 and it was one of the best bbq dinners we have ever had, and we have had plenty. Definately recommend for an event. Great set-up, personal service, and delivery !

Quick service and incredible food. We got the blackened salmon burger which was seasoned very well and tasted so fresh and the big pig which was also incredible and had crisp bacon and very good pulled pork. The serving sizes are huge and very filling. Great barbecue!!
