Yelp
B Live is a restaurant housed in the old Whitlow's space, which I miss even more after this visit.
A group of friends and I dined here for brunch. The menu has a few a la carte options available, and they also have a bottomless brunch buffet option, with the option to add on crab legs. The way it's advertised on the menu, it makes it seem as though the crab legs are also bottomless. HOWEVER, that is not the case. It's $12 PER PLATE, and each plate only contains one cluster of steamed crab legs. I think they need to make this more clear on the menu and website. During our time there, I heard multiple tables in addition to ours inquire about the "bottomless" crab legs option, only to be disappointed when we were told the cost is per plate. Once again, I really miss Whitlow's, who had actual bottomless crab legs at brunch.
Aside from the misleading menu, the brunch itself was pitiful. The baked salmon did not look cooked. The mac and cheese lacked flavor, and the fried chicken was nasty. The eggs were also bland, and the bacon wasn't cooked well. The only thing I really enjoyed were the random meatballs that they served, and the basic Greek salad. Even the parfait was nasty - I'm not sure what type of yogurt it was, but I was surprised that a parfait could taste so bad. The snow crab legs were supposed to be steamed, but it's was still cold. There was actually ice on one of the clusters we received.
The only redeeming part of my experience was the live music (the musician was really good!), the Bellini, and our server, Matt. This is the only reason they are getting 2 stars. Otherwise, I truly regret eating here for brunch and would not recommend it.
