Congratulations. This is the first resort I was glad to leave. We came to this resort as a fun getaway for a night. Check in was at 3 pm, but they will put your belongings in a room and lock them up, and you can use the facilities. They will call you when your room is ready.
We were dropped off from the airport at 11. After waiting in a very long line at the desk, we were sent to another line to wait to lock up our bags.
This is a pay for everything as you go. And pay you do.
We ate in the restaurants twice. Everything is very expensive. Gratuities are added in automatically, which in this case was unfortunate. Gratuity is for good service.
First meal, my husband and I ordered the 25 dollar hamburgers. Drinks are 16 dollars each. We waited over an hour, and the waiter brought back one burger that was raw inside. We asked about the second one and he acted all surprised we wanted two. Geez, you took orders from two different people!
It was cold outside, which kept us inside reading and waiting for our room. At 3, we waited through the still long line and were told the room was not ready, they will call. We could see everyone's bags in the room unlocked with nobody in attendance. Just fabulous. We continued waiting in the lobby until 4:30, with many others. They did call us, and my husband asked if it was necessary to wait through the long line again or if he could just go to the front (thinking everyone just waits to be told they don't yet have anywhere to be). NOO Sir, you must wait through again. Only, we waited while others walked straight up to the desk and were attended to. Let me tell you, not a croud pleaser.
Our room faced town and was nothing special beyond the usual 2-star types. We unpacked to find items had been stolen from our bags. Please don't make the mistake of leaving your bags to go play.
Second meal, the entire restaurant had one waitress. She was keeping up surprisingly well. She was good and deserved a tip. The place itself is not staffed to provide a 20% gratuity level of service. Everything on the menu will make you feel you are emptying your wallet.
Overall, the place is loud. You will wait in line inside at Starbucks for coffee, and feel like you are at a busy airport. It is in the stages of being let go. The elevators are falling apart. People complaining they were charged for many things they did not order. A lady mentioned in line that she booked the place through an agent. When she arrived the day earlier, they did not have a room for her.
There is a better way to do this. I cannot recommend this place.
UPDATE: While the company uses strong language to expresses intent to look into issues in their response to my review, we have not been contacted by anyone from the resort to do any sort of investigating.
