Ba Ghien Broken Rice Dish

Ordered no. 3 as everyone said, serving is big. Food is nice and the broken rice is unique. Had to take grab to reach there from where I stayed in district 1. Don’t mind going again. Meat is juicy and tasty.

Food was great. We ordered a second plate. Staff were attentive and nice! Food came very quick and was so good. My wife said its been her favourite dish so far in saigon!!

Not the best but for someone who loved broken rice and first time in Vietnam, this place is a great starting point. I ordered a mixed but would highly recomended the first 4 dishes on the menu. Overall, fast service and nice serving size, pork chops are huge, you probadly won't be able to finish the whole dish and better shared with another person with extra rice, good taste with nice texture. It is a bit pricey compare to other places but I think it worth the money.

thursday - 7:15pm - no wait - dine in - cash wanted to try the region's specialty broken rice dish and this place was recommended to me, definitely outside of central saigon so it was filled with more locals -- we took a grab from the downtown area. service was fast and they have seating. the plates have different combinations of the pork chop, broken rice, and some other toppings. // #2 pork rib fried egg (55k) // i shared this plate with my friend. the pork chop is huge and you get a decent amount of rice + fried egg, vegetables, pickled vegetables, and some meat fat? if you're really hungry, you can get your own but otherwise sharing is enough. i thought the pork chop tasted really good. the rice is smaller grains (hence called broken rice). i liked the pickled veggies too. our friends got the mixed plate but i could do without the sausage/extra meat.

Easy to find likely cause it’s so popular and everyone is familiar! There is free parking for motorbikes. We ordered the pork rice with pork skin and egg cake and pork rice with an egg. The food came out before I could blink. They’re cooking these slabs of pork constantly — still hot w a little sizzle. The flavor is bam! in your face. I usually lean more into the protein and veggies however I needed the rice to balance all of the umami from the pork. The pork and rice got a thumbs up from our whole party of 4. We all ate more than we needed. We only have a handful of days in Saigon so we’ll see if we can fit in another hefty meal. If we do, we’ll skip all the extras we ordered and stick to the pork rib. We also ordered two smoothies — 35k each. Both flavors were delicious and also inhaled along with the food. We were happy with our meal and thought it was well worth the trip and the price tag.

The biggest grilled ribs i have ever seen. If you are not really hungry and go at least 2 pax , you should only order 1 plate, then asking for one more clean plate to split it.

It's sweltering heat in Ho Chi Minh city (this week/ April 2024).. and knowing that the stall is super warm and uncomfortable.. I took the easy way out by ordering delivery ;) The delivery via Grab was super quick, and the food arrived still very warm. The pork chop was slightly charred and had a sweet seasoning but went well with a sunny side up and rice (that was fragrant and interestingly textured). I like this! But not enough for 5 ⭐️ :)

Tried this place as it went viral with its Michelin guide award. Overall the food was good but nothing special. Do note the plate is HUGE and can probably be shared with 2 people. Additionally, there's not enough rice compared to the hefty portion of meat which is very flavourful. You can order extra rice separately however.
