Ba Mien Seafood Market

Our favorite Asian market in the area. Love the variety and prices are reasonable. Their deli is my favorite. They have the best roast pork - nice cuts of meat and crispy skin. Duck was tasty too - fresh and not dry. If you are looking to get some Asian groceries or cooked foods, I highly recommend giving this place a try. When you go there, stop by Moochee as well!

First time visiting here, I loved the variety of product choices, including many Thai items I was looking for. The prices are affordable, and the fresh seafood selection and Asian produce are great. It reminds me of Thailand, my home.

New hot food inside. Great selection of fresh to frozen meat There also is a butcher live fish and crab. Large selection of household items bathroom to kitchen.

I had a really disappointing experience at Ba Mien Deli. I ordered thịt nguội and they gave me thịt nguội đặc biệt intead, which wasn't what I asked for, and they charged me extra for it. When I pointed out their mistake, they didn't offer a refund or any kind of solution. I won't be coming back.

Parking is pretty tough on weekends. Overall the store is a great place for exotic meats and foods. The prices a decent. It's a really great place to shop for southeast Asian foods. They also have halal options.

The market has a great variety of seafood, vegetable, etc. The great thing is that everything is reasonable and cheap compared to other markets. The market’s space is small, so you must watch out when walking around the market. The food is excellent and exceptionally high quality. I highly recommend this market to anyone

Fish sauce 3 crabs 8 bucks but its the best...3 have a lot of new items like dishes and cutlery $54 two bags no meat ouch

A lot of choices for produce, If want to cook asian dishes this is one of good places that you can find all ingredients. The best place to get fresh WA large osyters, only -$10 a dozen. Plus if you need any meat ground they will grind for you. Double check for ready to eat food sometime out of date.

best place to get any type of meat or vegetables you could want for very fair prices. $100 will get you very far here. this is one of the best places to get fresh clams and crab in the city. the frozen section is also incredible. i brought my viet mother in law here and she was delighted to find things that she would usually have to get special ordered. it's usually pretty busy and the staff is usually occupied, but you shouldn't be expecting the whole foods customer service experience at a market like this anyways. one of my favorite markets in seattle, hands down!

Tucked inside towards the left side of Ba Mien Seafood Market you can find their little deli where they sell banh mi, cooked meats, and other dishes! They've been in the works of trying to get Ba Mien Deli to open up for a while, and now they're finally fully in operation! I saw some images of the deli through Google and saw that they were selling a lot of items, but one that caught my eye the most was the Banh Mi Heo Quay, which is a crispy roasted pork belly Vietnamese sandwich. I've had it for the first time back in California and it was amazing, so I was hoping I could find a place that sold this banh mi. So here we are, eating from Ba Mien Deli. First bite from their Banh Mi Heo Quay, it partially had that crispiness I was looking for, but it also was soft/fatty on other parts of the meat. I wasn't completely into that since I was looking for a more crispy/crunchy bite like I've tried before. Even then, the meat had a good porky flavor, and the vegetables in the sandwich are quite standard. The bread was decent too. It's a good banh mi when you're needing to find something for lunch, but I wouldn't say it's the best. Would I come back for sandwiches? Sure! I love supporting Ba Mien as they're a local Vietnamese store in the heart of South Seattle. The person at the front of the deli was also friendly with me, so there wasn't any hassle in ordering, quite straight-forward. I would recommend checking them out and seeing what else they have.

Bad quality seafood. I bought live clams from their tanks thinking it was fresh. But once I started boiling them they started to smell rancid. I had to throw them away, there was no way to save them

We waited in line for 5 minutes before One of the workers closed his line as soon as we got to the front . Then the workers ignored us when we asked where the tuna is .If I could give it zero stars I would DONT GO HERE IF YOU ARE BLACK !!!!!!!!

This is the first place I came to while viewing Seattle only because my mom wanted to buy asian food for the place we are staying at. It's like your any typical Vietnamese Asian Market, smells like fish and Vietnamese people shouting at each other in their normal conversation voice. The place is really small so you when you cross aisles you have to make room because that's how close you are (touching back to back). For a small place I was surprised they had kitchen stuff like bowls, plates, pots and spoons. Didn't stay in here too long because I was tired and decided to wait in the car. I guess they have good variety as well.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. My grandma came here to buy groceries and couple of baked goods. When she came home she realized that some of the stuff she bought wasn't bagged but she was charged for it. She came back to the store and explained them the situation. Rather than resolving the issue they accused her of stealing and trying to scam them. My grandma is near 80 years old she doesn't have the time to be giving these people the time of day or to be pulling shenanigans. I get this is a Vietnamese establishment and customer service doesn't exist. But my grandma spoke to them in Vietnamese and they dared called her a thief when they were the ones that stole from her! There are other Asian super markets where you could go buy groceries don't give these people your coins especially if they're out here calling sweet old ladies scammers and thieves.

5 stars!! Love this Market. They have everything you need packed into this little space. Prices are excellent. Love the fresh selection of seafood and most of all...LIVE CRAB! They carry everything from basic asian kitchen utensils, fresh tofu and soybean milk, fresh herbs, veggies, 25-50 LBS of rice, spices, dried and canned goods, noodles, decent meat department, and the friendliest staff! I wish I lived closer!

They have better meat selections than Seattle Super Market, they appear to be a hair smaller than SSM. I appreciate they have jack fruit that are cut up already! rather than purchasing the whole fruit.. Not a bad place to get your fresh rice ribbon noodles as well, so far every time I go (even if I don't get them) I feel to see if it's fresh/soft and they are. They're my second go to place for them if I can't go to the actual manufacture in Chinatown for the Rose brand. Decent pricing.

If I can give this store zero stars I definitely would. Stopped in this place Monday for a little grocery shopping. First time here. Bought the vegetarian Mi Can Xa Ot Chay at $6.99 (bought 2). Got home it smelled weird like it was spoiled and tried a bite. It was spoiled. Called the store and they informed me that it states on the receipt "Perishable products: deli, meat, seafood, vegetables and fruits are not refundable or exchange". WOW, you sell spoiled food probably knowing its been sitting in your refrigerator for a long time, and pass it off as its fresh, and when customers bring it to your attention, that's the stand your going to take? Will never come back. I should call the Health Department.

I always go there to buy meats only because it's near my house. But today I wanted some crab so I went to bought 2, costed me $33.49 because $8.99 per pound. However, when my dad cut it open. It smelt like dead crab and it's so empty inside. I think if you can, people should avoided going there to buy seafood because they ripped you off!!!! GO TO LUCKY SEAFOOD INSTEAD OR SEATTLE SUPERMARKET IN BEACON HILL

Not friendly and no customer service. Called to find out if I want to drive over to get Dungeness crab and the lady on the phone was too lazy to check or the store was trying to deceive customers. Avoid at all costs.

Warning: If you are not into shopping at Asian markets, then you may not want to look at one of the pics I'm posting. If you are used to shopping at Asian markets, then you may be like, "Oh, YUM!" This is a seafood market, and it MAY have a little fishy/iodine smell. Power through the initial smell wall, and you'll be in a super supermarket ;) I'm not saying that I know how to cook with every ingredient in a market like this: a giant assortment of both fresh and frozen vegetables, including frozen ube; fish that I have never seen outside of an aquarium, the usual oodles of noodles, sauces (picked up some Tom Yum soup base), candies, cookies and a pleasantly-sweet coconut soda called Cocorico. I also picked up a savory and sweet Thai cookie called Crispy Rolls. The prices are really reasonable (whole mackerel was $3.59lb) and rice is superbly priced as well. If you are planning on hosting an Iron Chef party at your house (I'm planning one for August!) and you are looking for unusual ingredients to surprise your chefs with, then you should check out their silkworms (aka ground cucumbers), duck heads, and whole frogs. I can eat anything duck. I love duck feet even more than chicken feet, and eat frogs with gusto, so silkworms are the only thing I haven't eaten yet. I'm glad my Iron Chefs aren't on Yelp because this ish just.got.real. Oh, and if anybody has Alton Brown's number handy, I'd love for him to emcee at the house. Thanks in advance ;)

Great selection on fresh meat and produce as well as dry and canned good and sauces. Prices are fair and reasonable on all items. They have a decent selection of kitchenware items as well. Cons, the fish smell is horrible and very overwhelming, the isles are tiny and the checkout set up is a nightmare making it hard if there are more than 2 people waitimg to check out. Also the parking lot is dangerous it's hard to get in and out of there especially in the evening time any day of the week.

Normally I try to resolve the situation in person rather than going to yelp but it seems like that wasn't the case. My grandma came here to buy some groceries. But they didn't bag some of her items when she came to ask about it they called her a thief. Usually when there is an issue like this a manager should get involved and not jump to the conclusion that someone is automatically a thief. My grandma would never steal from anyone and the fact that they called her that really made my blood boil. Don't come here you have other options like lam seafood of the mien market next door. I also heard this place sells rotten meat as well.

Ba Mien is the closest Asian Market to our place. Don't come here for cleanliness or great costumer service. But yes, come for groceries and shop like your shopping. Get in. Get out. Prices are very fair and items are usually fresh. Though rumor has it that on occasion they will re-wrap their meats with new labels to make them appear fresher than they are. So maybe come here for the fresh veggies, fruits, and canned/packaged foods then.

Very decent location next to restaurants and shops in the shopping center. Vietnamese speaking Supermarket. Lots of vegetables and fruits. Great meat and fish selection.

This is where I come to get all my seafood and ingredients I need when I'm in Seattle. They keep this store clean and not smelly like typical asian markets. Reasonable prices and huge selection for all types of food. Their Oxtail is the cheapest in town.

Good place to shop for Asian fresh vegetables and meats. Sale associate still talking at the check out stand. I just want to shop and get away don't hold me back please.

This recently opened market replaced another rather new market before it. The deli spot has crap in it stacked for temp storage, I'm guessing. That'd be cool if it reopens. For cards, min $10 purchase - if you fall short, get some more shtuff or don't use your card. In my case, I got more of those things wrapped in the banana leaves(?). One with banana and one with rice - good stuff and surprisingly not as filling as I thought. Also tried some Korean onion rings. Cashier lady is subtly friendly, though; she did explain what the wraps were, as well. They had a grand opening discount banner outside, not sure and forgot if they applied any discount or not.

Came here for oyster and they didn't have none. Actually, they didn't have anything on my shopping list on several occasions.

My favorite place for fresh asian veggies, meats and seafood. Don't let the small size fool you; they've got a lot of variety. Found the freshest lemongrass in town here. Great staff and customers- they're always nice about answering my questions about cooking methods for certain foods, etc. I've gotten some great recipe tips there, too!

Came to this store recently and found everything that I need. Their vegetalbes are fresh, meat is excellent and got to admit I love their fish. Their staff very friendly, there are several occasions where I couldn't find what I need and asked them the location instead the took me to the location instead of pointing. I find that is excellent customer service. I would go back again any day.
