Toh Daeng at Baan Ar Jor

Some of the most delicious food we've ever had. My husband and I were charmed by the story behind the renovation of this house. We decided to eat at the restaurant after a tour of the home. Beautiful home, lovingly restored. The restaurant had Thai & Chinese cuisine. They were small plates, so we got a variety. The stewed pork was unbelievably good, and definitely the highlight. The crispy noodles should not be passed up - they are unlike anything we've ever had. I had a rum cocktail that was also very good. We highly recommend this restaurant!

We were welcomed with warm smiles and truly kind, attentive service. The staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel like a guest in their home. The food was delicious - beautifully presented, full of authentic flavors, and clearly prepared with care and high-quality ingredients. Every dish we tried was a pleasure. The restaurant is set in a stunning historic mansion with a gorgeous garden around it, creating a peaceful and elegant atmosphere. A wonderful experience overall, amazing food, heartfelt hospitality, and a beautiful setting.

We always make a point of visiting this restaurant outlet each time we visit Phuket. The food is great and we've also met the boss before, who seems like a great guy. However, tonight's service experience left some things to be desired. We had made reservations. We entered in front of a Caucasian couple and were instantly led to a corner table which was a little cramped. We asked if we could sit at the table next to it, which was better lit and had more space. The server (young lady with a pixie cut) told us "that table is not available". This would have been fine, except for what happened next - They served the Caucasian couple behind us next (who were walk-ins) and led them straight to the table we'd just requested for. We then asked if there were any other tables not in the corner we could sit at, a lady with a bob told us that this was not possible. However there were plenty of empty tables all around us. This was quite an unfortunate experience to have, especially on my birthday. The seating service felt very selective and it did not feel nice. As I mentioned, we've come here many times over the years and introduced friends and family. Spent today's meal feeling disappointed.

Baan Ar Jor (Grandfather's House) is my favourite restaurant in Phuket. Set in a large field with a colonial house, this restaurant is famous for mits Red Curry with Rambutan, Ngor Hiang in a bird cage, excellent Omelette with Prawn and crispies, Grandmother's 100-year recipe for Crispy Noodles with Prawns. All served with healthy Thai Red Rice, this place is excellent for family and entertainment. There's is a side wing for events too. All in, six star and more! Michelin-starred since 2022 - 2025. Excellent!

We were staying in the nearby Anantara Hotel but were disappointed with their restaurants, so we were looking for some alternatives. This place really made us happy. Great (and super quick) service, awesome flavourful food in a very decent setting of a restaurant that combines heritage and modern in a nice and easy way. Prices are reasonable for the quality and setting (more than your usual beach hut, but far below the restaurants in the top end hotels). Definitely recommended if you are willing to step out of your beach hotel and drive a few minutes to that wonderful place!

We were simply cycling by on our bicycle tour and saw the sign at the road side around lunch time. Down a windy stone driveway to an enchanted property from another era. We were very captivated by the amazing interior frozen in 1936. Service was excellent and in English. We had: - Tom Kha Gai and it was very good - Masaman chicken curry, which was the standout dish of the two - For desert, Macadamia Himalayan salt cake, which was decadently delicious

Unique find in phuket highly recommended by my good friend. Filled with nostalgic memorabilia and ambience. There’s also a museum onsite. Food was very good. We especially enjoyed the rambutan red curry with pork. The crispy noodle with prawns was very nice, apparently a 100-year old recipe. The common omelette with prawns was very delicious. Would definitely return with friends.

A beautiful space with elegant chino-Portuguese décor that instantly sets the mood. The food is the real highlight—rich, memorable flavors that fully live up to its Michelin Bib Gourmand status since 2021. Stylish, delicious, and absolutely worth the visit.
