Baan Nam Jai Chao Songkhla Restaurant - Review - Cape Panwa - Phuket - The Infatuation

"If you happen to be staying at the Panwaburi Resort, there’s an amazing super casual restaurant next door. The seafood here is the thing to prioritize: a steamed whole fish with chilies, garlic, and celery leaves, tamarind shrimp, and more shrimp that’s wrapped in deep fried noodles. Even if you’re not staying at the resort, it’s a great lunch move that’s right across from the beach. So take a dip in the Andaman Sea, have some seafood and a mango smoothie, and hang out before you go back in the water." - Carlo Mantuano

We had the most wonderful dining experience at this restaurant! The blend of Thai and European flavors is truly unique, and every dish felt like it was made with so much care. The staff was warm and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The ambiance is cozy yet stylish, perfect for a relaxing evening. From the fresh ingredients to the beautifully presented meals, everything was perfect. I can’t wait to come back and bring friends and family to share this hidden gem! Server even gave us mosquito spray!!!

My girlfriend and I found this place by chance.. we came for dinner two days in a raw. First night Thai food and I must say it was delicious.. second night we get pizzas, and it was just amazing, truly Italian style. Locations is super nice, clean and cozy, as much as service, friendly and polite. If you are in Karon beach, this a place you cannot miss.

As someone who regularly orders rustic wood fired pizzas in Melbourne Australia, I rate the pizza I ordered from Baan Bangla as one of the best wood fired pizzas I have ever had! Not only was the pizza fantastic, I ordered an aperol spritz which was also delicious! The staff were extremely friendly, service was great, and also great price for the quality of food! We were also given some delicious watermelon after our meal! Highly recommend this restaurant! 11/10 !!

We decided to have dinner at the restaurant and ate tom yam with seafood, rice dishes with seafood and pineapple. Drank local beer and still water. The tom yum was spicy and regular, I liked both, very spicy, there was a lot of seafood in the soup, the dish was large. I liked the rice with seafood, it was tasty and beautifully presented. You can safely take just one thing for dinner and a light salad, soup and dish that turns out very satisfying. A small minus is the lack of ventilation for the table, it was hot. We recommend the place, we will be happy to return!

The restaurant offers tasty local Thai dishes and European favorites, prepared with love and authenticity. The ambiance is stunning, surrounded by a lot of plants that makes you feel like you‘re dining in a beautiful garden. Incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the experience feel warm and personal. It’s true that the restaurant is a bit hard to find since it’s off the main road, but that’s part of its charm! Being away from the street noise adds to the relaxing atmosphere, which sure helps to enjoy a meal. To top it all off, the prices are very reasonable, especially considering the high quality of the food and the beautiful setting. Highly recommend seeking this place out – it’s well worth it!

Came across this as a “hidden gem”, and it really is a gem. Very nice terrace with a lot of plants which makes it look really local. The tom yum is really really good. We had both the shrimp and chicken one and both are stunning. The prices are low for the quality you’re getting. Definately give it a shot!

Worst experience ever had in one month of eating out in Thailand. We asked for a thai dish, specifying we needed it to be “absolutely not spicy”, they said it was not a problem, since they do it accordingly to customer’s preference. Well, +30 mins later, it arrived spicy, all good, we kindly asked to replace it with a non spicy one.. but quickly changed our mind and decided to directly cancel the order (I have health issues and didn’t want to risk it again), the waiter initially said ok, but less then 2 minutes later another waiter brought the dish saying with a rude tone “too late, you ordered it now you eat it”, slamming the dish in the table in front of me, we asked to the first waiter who said “you have to pay for it!”. We were left shocked by all this rudeness, but there’s more: we quickly realized the dish was the same we sent back but “rinsed”. The proof is that the original was in a red soup, this time it was a clear broth but the veggies and shrimps had on them traces of the red sauce in their folds (see photos of the before and after), and the soup had almost no flavour, also it arrived only a few minutes after our request, while the first time we waited for +30 mins. i’m sorry for the others good members of the hospitality team, but this treatment was disgusting

We read that the pizza is really good so we came in an afternoon, but it was too early and we were the only customers. Nevertheless, we were kindly welcomed and I had the best massaman curry. In the evening the atmosphere is different, more cozy and intimate. The pizza is delicious! Good value for money, I recommend. The location is not hard to find, just follow google maps.
