The setting is pleasant, tucked just off the road, lush wish plants and vines jungle-like, easy to find, and genuinely pleasant to arrive at. There’s a visible pizza oven and lots of regulars , which sets expectations fairly high.
Unfortunately, the experience doesn’t really deliver.
Service was slow and quite inefficient despite the restaurant being less than a quarter full early evening. It felt more like operational overwhelm than relaxed pacing. The crab omelette arrived first after a long wait, and was wrong (no crab), which didn’t help…
Food overall was fine but not writing home about.
– Green curry was traditional but underwhelming, with poorly cleaned prawns (tails and shells left on), which is a pain in a hot curry.
– Pad Thai was ok.
– Morning glory was waterlogged and lacked punch.
– The omelette was decent and probably the best dish.
Payment became a hassle: card machine “broken” with no warning, long waiting, an attempt to pay across the road, and eventually having to return the next day with cash...
Nice atmosphere but I wouldn’t go back for the food.
