Baan Bang-La Restaurant

A beautiful restaurant far from the noise of the road. Very tasty food. We’ve eaten here many times, and all the dishes are excellent. Prices are surprisingly not high. For example, a shrimp Pad Thai costs around 120–130 baht. P.S. I highly recommend trying the pizza at least once. It’s cooked in an oven, and I think it’s one of the best pizzas I’ve ever tried.

The setting is pleasant, tucked just off the road, lush wish plants and vines jungle-like, easy to find, and genuinely pleasant to arrive at. There’s a visible pizza oven and lots of regulars , which sets expectations fairly high. Unfortunately, the experience doesn’t really deliver. Service was slow and quite inefficient despite the restaurant being less than a quarter full early evening. It felt more like operational overwhelm than relaxed pacing. The crab omelette arrived first after a long wait, and was wrong (no crab), which didn’t help… Food overall was fine but not writing home about. – Green curry was traditional but underwhelming, with poorly cleaned prawns (tails and shells left on), which is a pain in a hot curry. – Pad Thai was ok. – Morning glory was waterlogged and lacked punch. – The omelette was decent and probably the best dish. Payment became a hassle: card machine “broken” with no warning, long waiting, an attempt to pay across the road, and eventually having to return the next day with cash... Nice atmosphere but I wouldn’t go back for the food.

Great little last minute find for authentic Thai food. You must try the satay chicken skewers. Never had such authentic food. Service sometimes can be a bit slow in high season, so just remember to nudge them but remember this is Asia so be patient

We had the most wonderful dining experience at this restaurant! The blend of Thai and European flavors is truly unique, and every dish felt like it was made with so much care. The staff was warm and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The ambiance is cozy yet stylish, perfect for a relaxing evening. From the fresh ingredients to the beautifully presented meals, everything was perfect. I can’t wait to come back and bring friends and family to share this hidden gem! Server even gave us mosquito spray!!!

My girlfriend and I found this place by chance.. we came for dinner two days in a raw. First night Thai food and I must say it was delicious.. second night we get pizzas, and it was just amazing, truly Italian style. Locations is super nice, clean and cozy, as much as service, friendly and polite. If you are in Karon beach, this a place you cannot miss.

Food was fresh and tasty. Not overtaste, there was a western menu catered for tourist, but a pretty extensive local menu as well. Price was okay for the ambience. Service could be better. We were family with children so they were quite loud. The workers made no attempt to hide their displeasure about it...I would say that the restaurant is able to cater to larger group base on size, but with their workers attitude, they'd probably prefer small quiet groups.

Not on the stretch of touristy spot and we only found out about this from a local. Service is quite fast as well. Has a lovely ambience so 5 star for all!! Both pizza and pasta as good as any trattoria in Italy. We live in Australia and have not found any pizza place as good as this!!! Great for our family as it caters both for Italian and Thai cuisine without making it a fusion. Can’t recommend it highly enough.
