Baan Pomphet

"This Thai restaurant next to Pom Phet (Diamond Fortress) is in the distinctive-looking boutique hotel of the same name. Inside, the stylish dining room is fitted with large windows that frame a view of the restaurant’s deck and the Chao Phraya. Sourcing ingredients from the river and local farms, the chef creates flavourful dishes like standouts grilled river prawns and boiled freshwater snails in red curry soup. Book ahead for a riverside table at dinner." - Michelin Inspector

Right on the river........comfy room with top notch shampoo etc, we always travel light and therefore we appreciate good quality, thoughtful extras in the bathroom. There's a Nespresso machine if that's your thing, but it's a juggle to make a cup of tea, however perseverance pays off. Our room was directly in front of the pool, there are only 8 rooms, I think three are at ground level which was the best spot. Dinner and breakfast were superb, the restaurant is in the Michelin Guide book; you'll love it!|Fabulous help from the front office, a lady with gorgeous hair (how is it possible in that humidity?) and excellent English looked after all our needs.

Fantastic lunch with fantastic selection from the great menu and a table with river view. The restaurant and hotel are exceptional, clean tidy and excellent service. Prices are fair for the standard but a little more expensive than ‘normal’ in Thailand… however, I think it’s worthwhile and my group had a lovely lunch.

This is a very different and unique hotel ,right on the river. There are great views of the river and a wide array of boat traffic to observe. The rooms are smaller than we expected. The bathrooms were good, but some maintenance and upkeep had been deferred. The bed was located in a corner, so the person next to the wall either slithered out the bottom or crawled over their partner, if they had to use the washroom during the night. Not a good situation for us older people. The full service restaurant was excellent with great food, a wide selection on the menu and full service. The hotel is not within walking distance of most shopping and / or restaurants, but only a short boat ride away. Would need to hire a water taxi to get to these other locations. As older people, this is a very good hotel, but we would not say a great hotel. Would recommend.

I searched the new restaurants to try in Ayuthaya as we have been to a few places already. Overall, I’m so impressed with their design and vibe here in the evening it was so stunning and peaceful. They offer a variety of menu Thai dishes had Crab meat in yellow chili (crab deliver directly from Surat Thani), Fried fish cakes, Tom Yum (spicy soup) with River fish and Stir stir-fried spicy beef in herbs. It’s all tasty and perfectly cooked. Staffs are friendly and have great service. I will go back and may stay overnight in a hotel as well.

One of the best experiences in Ayuthaya province. Had lunch at their restaurant and the food was superb. Charcoal grilled river prawn was absolutely amazing, the texture showed that it is really fresh. Stir fried asparagus was also great, it came with mushroom and carrot. Baked pork ribs in pineapple was tasty and unexpected. I did also try spicy yellow mystus fish soup which was really herby and spicy. Stir fried chicken with cashew nut was also great. Unfortunately, didn’t take a photo of these two dishes. Mango sticky rice was also well prepared. The river view is really amazing and their Thai spirits cocktails are worth trying.

Authentic Thai food by the river. Very lovely atmosphere and decor. Want to come back for a sunset dinner or perhaps an overnight stay!

I had dinner here. About the food: I think it's fine and suits my taste. About the atmosphere: The restaurant is located by the river, not too crowded, creating a calm environment for conversations. If sitting outdoors, there might be occasional mosquitoes. About the service: I think it's okay. Recommend!"

I didn't live in the hotel, just come here for a lunch. It's a riverside restaurant attached to a small boutique hotel with many delicious menu items. Although it doesn't have stars, it's recommended by Michelin Guide. Super recommend the Grilled river prawns. They were perfectly cooked with bouncy meat, and the shrimp paste has a rich taste, love that! Tom Yum Kung was yummy! Sour enough and a little spicy. Had better reserve a table beforehand as it's very popular and can get very crowded during peak hours. Parking isn't a problem. They have a parking lot in front of the restaurant.
