Baan

"At this sister restaurant to Le Du, comforting family recipes take centre stage. The intimate venue boasts a contemporary look with marble tables and chic lighting. They prioritise high-quality ingredients, including beef from Pak Chong's Islamic farms and responsibly sourced seafood from southern Thailand. Pair dishes with their selection of biodynamic, organic wines and house cocktails." - Michelin Inspector

Really great little restaurant off Lumpini Park. We ordered way too much food, which enabled us to sample a lot. The spring rolls were excellent. The green curry was beautiful (though the beef was a little too chewy). The pad Thai omelette was incredible. If we hadn’t gone overboard with ordering I would have eaten the whole thing. I loved the papaya salad and the pork skewers. Just a wonderful night out.

I learned of the word “Bâan” just this year from Gigguk’s anime film, and it honestly made me curious enough to try this place due to its namesake. I’m glad I did. :) The coconut curry with chicken tasted wonderfully homely, rich, cozy, and full of warmth (you can also adjust the spice level), while the deep-fried pork was crisp and satisfying without feeling heavy. The whole experience felt genuine and welcoming, true to its name. A spot that really does taste like home (also met a kababayan :))… cue Kevin Penkin’s epic music.

Wanted to like the food here so much, but was extremely disappointed by the quality of food served here. I made a reservation a month back but it feels unnecessary. Came into an quiet (empty) place, the furnishing looks slightly worn but warm welcome by the staff. Ordered 3 dishes to try, morning glory salad, an egg & pork stew as well as the pork jowl curry rice. The batter on the morning glory was too heavy and felt very greasy. The pork in the stew was tough and the gravy was lacklustre, you can get this at any street stall at a fraction of the price. The pork jowl was not fresh and had a stench to it. It felt like they were trying to cover it with the spices in the curry. All the dishes we tried were not restaurant quality food. The service staff saw that we barely touched our food and asked if we wanted to take it to go but we rejected as we truly didn't enjoy any of it. However, there were no enquiries on how did we find the food. Therefore, I decided to share my thoughts here with anyone who is thinking to visit Baan to avoid more disappointed guests. Spent ~1140b on the above and left feeling very empty and sad. :(

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Unforgettable Fine-Dining Experience at Baan Restaurant in Bangkok We came to Baan Restaurant to celebrate a big business win, and everything — from start to finish — was absolutely exceptional. The fine-dining atmosphere is elegant and welcoming, that make it one of the best restaurants in Bangkok for special occasions. The service was world-class — professional, attentive, and genuinely friendly. After enjoying a perfect dinner, we stayed to celebrate with drinks — the ideal ending to an incredible meal. If you’re looking for romantic dinners, luxury dining experiences, or business celebrations in Bangkok, Baan Restaurant is an absolute must-visit. A perfect mix of exceptional service, stunning ambiance, and unforgettable local flavor.

Not Recommended. Between me, you, and the food—just stay away. We walked into an empty restaurant and still decided to give it a chance. I ordered the lamb curry, which was hyped as “the most delicious.” It was nothing close. Overly sweet, drowning in oil, and served with zero effort—no garnish, no presentation, nothing. We spent 3,320 THB for a meal that was barely passable. The other dishes were okay at best—bland, forgettable, and overpriced. To make things worse, the place was hot and uncomfortable, with barely any cooling despite the heat. No, we won’t be coming back. Save your money, your appetite, and your time. There are far better and wayyy cheaper options in this city.

Excellent service that is only matched by the delicious food we had! Good portions too. Ordered and ate too much but worth the calories!

Baan Thai = Flavor Nirvana Best stir-fried seafood rice ever—like a wok-fueled love letter to your taste buds. The service? Warm, fast, and genuinely kind. And their kombucha? So good it deserves its own fan club. Eat here. Thank me later.
