This restaurant always crowded and very popular with tourists. Serving truly authentic Northeastern cuisine. The pricing is reasonable and the quality is great, helpful service staff, this resto are remarkable clean..

I was excited to try this restaurant due to the fantastic ratings, and it certainly did not disappoint. Upon walking into, we were quickly greeted and seated by the staff. To order here, you mark or circle the items you want on an ordering sheet. While this sheet is completely in Thai, you can match the ID numbers of each dish from a menu that contained photos and English descriptions. The food was certainly delicious but may be a little too spicy for people unaccustomed to Thai spice like me 😅 You can ask for less spice, but even this was frankly still too much for me, particularly with the papaya salad. The other entrees we ordered included a tom yum soup with braised beef, deep-fried tilapia with spicy mango salad, and pork neck. All of these dishes with flavorful, and the meat tender. Overall, I found the experience dining at Baan Somtum wonderful, but at this price point, I would also recommend exploring other cheaper options for equally delicious traditional Thai dishes.

The fish wasn't fully de-scaled, so a lot of the skin wasn't edible which ruined the fish experience. The fried chicken is quite literally a fried chicken, I found it quite bland. The coconut soup (their recommended) was a banger, I enjoyed the taste a lot, except for the fact that I accidentally had a couple of peppers and was instantly out of commission (my fault)

I had been to the restaurant. The restaurant was always crowded and very popular among tourists. As Thais, I also love the food here and felt it is authentic Northeastern food. This time I ordered delivery. The quality of food was equally good. The best dish had to say it was Pork neck. Will order again for sure. Pricing is reasonable and good quality!

I’d tried apples somtum and shrimp somtum with coco meat, both are excellent. The apple one consists of green and red apples, mixed with peanuts and dried shrimp, much refreshing. The shrimp is average, but coconut meat is thick + young, so remarkable. Deep fried chicken wings and fresh mushrooms are delicious too.

Every dish was delectable! There were 9 of us so we ordered A LOT and loved every one of them. You can taste the fresh ingredients and spices in every bite. They take the typical dish and pushed it up a notch. The shaved papaya was mouthwatering. Just by shaving the papaya instead of shredding, it elevated the enjoyment of this typical dish. Although their shredded papaya salad is probably one of the best as well. The chicken wings were perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The pork neck appears simple but the flavor was far from it. Oh, and the sauces that accompanied many dishes…..mmmm. The parking lot is small but the parking attendant was super helpful during the busy lunch time. He skillfully guided to offer much more parkings than the space allowed. The add to this restaurant was how reasonably priced everything was. Highly recommend!

If a restaurant is packed with locals, you know it's the real deal—and Baan Somtum Sathorn doesn’t disappoint. This spot delivers bold, fiery Isan flavors in every bite. The duck larb is a knockout—zesty, herbaceous, and packing just the right amount of heat. The roast pork neck is smoky, succulent, and charred to perfection, making it an instant favorite. And, of course, their famous som tam brings the perfect balance of crunch, spice, and tang. With a buzzing atmosphere, fast service, and flavors that hit hard, this is a must-visit for anyone craving top-tier Isan food in Bangkok!
