I stayed at Baan Talay on Koh Tao for a week in late January early February and had an amazing stay away from the hustle and bustle of everyday North American life and onto the peaceful sanctuary that is the Baan Talay resort. I stayed in a tent for a week and loved the experience. Clean, safe, comfortable, AC, with bathroom behind that includes a wonderful private open air shower. Mosquitos were present outside. The food, service, and accommodations - although maybe simple, were exactly what I was looking for to refresh and replenish. I had the Hot Honey Thai tea at least 3 times a day along with the breakfast buffet in the morning, and tried pretty much the whole menu and was delighted every time. The walk from the tent to the restaurant at the top of the hill is lengthy, and a good reminder that good things take effort. I also took some yoga classes here - each one of them were individually and collectively fantastic. I shall return.

Absolutely loved my stay at this yoga resort! The location is simply breathtaking—nestled in lush nature with a serene, peaceful atmosphere, and just steps away from some of the best snorkeling I’ve ever experienced. The rooms were beautiful—tastefully decorated, comfortable, and designed to make the most of the natural surroundings. Waking up to the sounds of nature and gentle sea breeze was pure bliss. The restaurant was another highlight, serving delicious Thai specialties as well as well-executed Western dishes. Whether you’re in the mood for a light, healthy lunch or a flavorful curry dinner, the kitchen never disappoints. Of course, the yoga classes were the heart of the experience—held in a gorgeous open-air shala with caring teachers and a peaceful energy throughout. And last but not least, the staff was warm, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. Highly recommend this resort for anyone seeking relaxation, nature, and rejuvenation. I will be back soon ❤️

My friend and I went to Baan Talay for an ice bath. What a terrible and very disappointing experience. Make sure to check how many people are booked for a single session before you go. When we arrived, there were more than 50 people scheduled for the same session. My queue number was 40, and we were not informed in advance that it would be this crowded. It seems the orientation alone takes over 30 minutes, and each person only gets about 2 minutes in the bath. There are four bathtubs, and while some people shower before getting in, others skip it — so be aware of what you’re getting into. Also, no sauna is included. I didn’t expect the ice bath to be done without a sauna and in such a chaotic environment. I asked to cancel and requested a full refund. The staff gave us an annoyed look, asked us to return the queue number, and told us to leave. She claimed it was nonrefundable and said she had already lost bookings due to this “overbooking,” which they had caused themselves. With no details provided about the session size, the experience was far from what we expected. Who does an ice bath in an overwhelming and rushed environment when you’re expecting something peaceful and relaxing? She refused to give us a full refund and offered no logical explanation. After we explained our reasons, she reluctantly went to get her wallet, handed us the cash, and said, “Are you happy now?” She was rude, irresponsible, and completely lacking in hospitality. She didn’t acknowledge our disappointment or make any attempt to resolve the issue. Their ice bath program is far from what it should be. They seem focused on packing people into sessions rather than delivering quality and a good customer experience. The overall operational management was very poor, disorganized, uncommunicative, and inattentive to guest expectations. I DO NOT recommend this place if you’re looking for a quiet, private ice bath, because you won’t know how many people will actually show up.

I have been staying here for three days at the tent ⛺️ which is located very far from the lobby and the restaurant but nearby the sea. It needs to take around 200 steps to climb up and down. Prepare your need and leg, if you stay at the tent. Animal flow that taught by the owner was very recommended. Move like animals, so challenging 😍 The views for yoga area is superb. Really nice location. Staff service is great 👏 Taxi service from is not included, need to pay extra 300 baht.

Baan Talay Resorts is the perfect place for a serene and soulful retreat. Nestled on a hilltop, it offers a deep connection to nature, where everything is beautifully preserved. Mornings began with the soothing sounds of crickets, followed by breakfast overlooking the breathtaking Shark Island. Then, yoga in the stunning sacred shala became a daily ritual. One morning, I even watched three eagles soar by as I moved through my practice! 🦅 There’s so much to do at the resort that I hardly felt the need to leave. The ice bath, flotation therapy, and arts and crafts workshops were all wonderful experiences. With direct sea access to the island’s best snorkeling spot, I could dive straight into crystal-clear waters, swimming alongside colorful fish, vibrant corals, and gentle reef sharks. 🐠🪸 Afternoons were spent sunbathing with a book, lingering in the golden light until dusk. The staff are incredibly warm and attentive, making the experience even more special. Baan Talay is more than just a place to stay—it’s a place to reconnect with nature and yourself. 🩵

It's probably the best place to stay in Koh Tao, despite the long way down the hill to the ocean. The coral reef is just right there with many sea creatures. I saw sharks, stingrays, trigger fish, clownish, etc. I would say it's the best yoga studio with a stunning view as well. The negative thing about staying here was that I felt sad when I moved to another hotel and another beach, and I have the experience that can not compare to this place.

What a lovely spot for anyone to hang out. The restaurant is super lovely with delicious food. The resort has many workshops that you can do like yoga and art. I personally love hanging out at the restaurant and my daughter has enjoyed the art workshops she’s been to here. Overall, lovely spot❤️

Great place to be at . The restaurant on the top of the hill was really good, with quality food and good choices even for vegetarians/vegans. The resort is very beautiful with amazing jungle gardens full of life. We had sauna and cold plunges and enjoyed yoga with an amazing view. We stayed in the tents lower down the hill with an excellent view, the ants and mosquitos were something to be aware of, but it was fine . We had a private bathroom and AC, so a very comfortable stay when referring to sleeping in a tent. Be aware that the steps are many and winding so take it easy, on the other hand I enjoyed every stroll as you get to see the nature and the animals there .
