Nice place with a relaxing pool and garden area. Little far from the center of town, but not too far to walk to street food by the moat. Room was clean and quiet with a big bathroom. Receptionist was very friendly. 4 stars because the pool could've been a little cleaner and I almost twisted my ankle on a loose grate. Laundry was also a bit slow, not done until half an hour after we were supposed to check out.

Free parking, 24 hour reception, great value for price. Free instant coffee or tea in dining area in the morning. Pool sparkling clean and rooms clean, including bathroom. Activities and local information available at reception. Groundskeeping seems constant, decor is natural looking and well done. Sets an ambiance of calmness in the city. Notes: Rooms not sound proof. Can hear people walking around- for the light sleepers. it is an older set of buildings in a different style, kept up well.

It's a cool looking place, and it's age/architecture is a charm but unfortunately it rubs off fairy quickly. We only came back to the room to sleep when we had to. We stayed in a double room-all brown wood in their photos on booking-but their photos make something that is in reality very old and dark appear quaint. The beds are rock hard and lumpy, not pleasant. The fridge is very old and not really clean, and it switches off when you leave the room. The main light just hangs off its wires through a hole broken in the ceiling, with several attempts at wiring it on display. The bathroom looks like something out of saw 2 and utterly REEKS of drains/sewer if you run a tap or flush. Really unpleasant. Its all a bit old and stained, the fan doesn't work, the shower is a weak affair, the pipes for the bathroom in general snake around the room and all leak a bit. The old pipe-work is just left sticking out of the walls. And again the smell....is very bad. The pool is nice but the dogs swim in it and most deck chairs are a bit broken so mind they don't pinch you. The front bar is a hang-out spot for the locals which is sound and all but it's not very in keeping with the idea of a peaceful 'resort' if you're a light sleeper. Its 2-3 kilometer walk from the old city. Not what you'd expect given the price pictures and description.

More like 3.5 stars. Friendly staff but the resort is a little run down, pool is cloudy/a little dirty, rooms/linens could definitely be cleaner. We also had our laundry done and it took over a day to get back. Overall it has a pool and ac which is nice but I don’t think it was worth the $50 a night.

Friendly staff and cozy old rooms, all very traditional and simple, in the best Thai style. If you fancy "fancy", this is not the place you are looking for. Expect higher rates for services than around, I found better prices for tours, laundry and motorbike rental in the surrounding area.

Old style. Walls are paper thin, solid teak, creaky floors. We were kept awake all night by rats in the ceiling ab walls, rooster farm next door. There is no wifi in rooms, despite having a 10 on trip advisor. We're only too happy to move rooms to another one with no wifi, kinda funny really. Breakfast is basic and a set menu. Not far from city.

Shabby and decadent with poor services. We're given a broken bed frame which wasn't replaced for our stay, mould on the wall, bad smell. The pool is very small with just enough place to have plastic chairs around.

The place is cheap, and the design of the building with the garden is beautifull. However, rooms can be dirty, there's no airco, and the rooms which have a airco are still way too hot. However, we could switch to a cleaner room for free, but this was still dirty. Especially the bathroom.
