Baba au Rum

Nice bar! The 50BestBar 2024 list was not wrong. Amazing drinks and atmosphere. Service lacks a bit of attentiveness but is hard to have it all. Its rum’s list is extensively amazing but we were there for the cocktails that do not defraud. No food in the bar but seems to be that they own the property across the street and you may have it… I went for the drinks and got more than enough. Although we spent more than 60€ per person we had several drinks each of us. And the unitary price is fair and you get great quality for your money.

The cocktails were really good! I had the glass of tears and it was one of the best cocktails I tried in Athens. But sadly, due to being understaffed, the service was horrible. The waitress was kinda rude and you had to beg to order or have the check. I don’t blame her as it was packed on a Friday night and she was the only one taking orders.

A must visit cocktail place in Athens, they really deserve to be in the top for best cocktail bars. Super friendly staff & relaxed atmosphere. Loved everything about it! Cheers, guys, you are awesome!

Amazing cocktail bar. Known for their rum based tiki drinks but they have a full bar with delicious cocktails of all sorts. The Anti-Novel Margarita was my favorite. A few outdoor tables that are good enough, but I loved the indoor vibes. Great music. A vinyl record player that was occasionally used. 10-13 euros/drink. They did let us sit inside with our 1 year old daughter (stroller and all). If you enjoy this spot, you should also check out the Old Fashioned bar a short walk away. Different vibe but just as enjoyable.

Baba au Rum is one of the best cocktail bars in Athens. It is also ranked 17th on 50 Best Bars 2024 list. All cocktails have their own story. This place is famous for its rums so I recommend you to choose a cocktail that has rum. The supremus no58 had a unique texture and taste. They also have small bites like mini pizzas.

In a lively side road sits a bar making experimental cocktails of all sorts. I highly recommend their les fleurs du mal, which uses celery to create a drink unlike other clear drinks you're used to. They're known for tiki drinks which were great, but les fleurs du mal was the surprise. The prices are reasonable for the experimental cocktails and I think the spirit-forward drinks are better than the sweet drinks. The vibe is very interesting, with a sort of soft house/lounge vibe inside and a bustling outdoor area outside. I think I'd prefer sitting outside as it is more conversational and less musical. But that's just me. Service is quite good, although they do get overwhelmed on crowded nights. But it's a bar, it's expected. I think they rent table capacity from across the street to help out, which is great classic neighborhood vibes.

One of the coolest bars in a super cool neighborhood. The drinks are absolutely spot on, the vibe is fantastic. Their sister bar program was very good - got to meet some good specials and specialist from the bar in Zurich

The over-explained menu was a bit exhausting. Though it’s ranked among the world’s top 50 bars, I’m not sure it lives up to that hype. Sometimes these accolades work against a place. Still, the space was beautifully lit and stylish. I enjoyed a well-balanced sour cocktail and a gin and tonic twist that was just okay.
