It was our first time trying Turkish cuisine, and choosing Baba İskender in Dubai Festival City turned out to be one of the best decisions we made. We ordered the Kıymalı Kaşarlı Pide (pita with minced meat and cheese). It’s a baked Turkish flatbread topped with minced meat, tomato, green capsicum, and cheese. We went for the medium size for AED 75, thinking the regular might not be enough for two people, but the medium was huge and easily enough for three. The combination of cheese, meat, and the freshly baked pita was so delicious and filling 😁.
We also ordered fries and took an İskender kebab as a parcel, and that turned out to be really good as well. To finish off, we had Turkish tea. It was simple, warm, and the perfect way to end the meal.
The interior had a proper Turkish decor and a really nice ambience, which made the whole experience even better. The staff were cheerful, friendly, and helpful throughout.
Overall, my first experience with Turkish cuisine has made me want to try more. Baba İskender feels truly authentic, and I’ll definitely be coming back to try other dishes from their menu.
