Everything was outstanding…great menu, fantastic service and delicious meals…thank you to everyone at Baba Kabab for a pleasant dining experience! Would highly recommend! Just returned this week…tried the Kofta Kabab, the Chicken Shawarma Gyro Combo Plate along with roasted cauliflower….absolute perfection! Looking forward to next visit. The service was amazing too.

I didn’t want to leave a 1-star review because I’m sure this was just an individual mistake and not how the restaurant normally operates. I ordered around 3:30 p.m., so I know it’s a passed the busy time and the food might not be at its freshest, but serving me mostly burned meat in my salad is not acceptable. The pieces that weren’t burnt were extremely dry. The flavor was still there, but paying $18.53 for a salad with burnt and dried-out meat like this really isn’t okay.

This is another place I've been going to for years. It's the only Turkish/Mediterranean restaurant around that I know of and it's gourmet. The service has always been super friendly, extra so. The owner really cares about his customers. It's hard for me not to get one of their flaming to the table clay pot dishes as I did this time with the Kofta Kabab. I've had a few of the Clay pot dishes and every one was unique and delicious. We had the Angry Eggplant appetizer and it was incredible as was the bread they serve from the wood fired brick oven. None of us can ever get enough of the bread. It's good that it doesn't keep coming too quickly as we wouldn't eat anything else. You get a show along with your food here. Also, I once had a taste of a friend's tuna Kabob here and it was the best tuna I'd ever tasted and I'd had quite a lot.

Google
This was our first visit to the restaurant, and we were excited to try it based on the great reviews. The place is clean, well-maintained, and the staff is incredibly friendly. We ordered the kebab platter, but our order was delayed due to a mix-up. Although we were a bit frustrated at first due to the delay, the staff quickly made up for it by offering complimentary dishes. In the end, the food was delicious, and the service was excellent. I’ll definitely recommend this place and will be back to try their fire pot chicken! #second visit! Baba Kabob is hands-down one of the best places in town not just for the food, but for the incredible customer service that truly makes you feel at home. I went with my husband and our baby, and as always, the food was fantastic. I ordered the lamb, which initially came out rare — but the staff were so kind and quick to prepare it exactly the way we preferred, no questions asked. Their attention to detail and willingness to make sure everything is perfect really stands out. And here’s what truly touched us , they brought out a free cheese pizza for our 1.5-year-old son! Such a thoughtful and generous gesture that made the whole experience even more special. It’s rare to find a place that combines consistently delicious food with warm, family-style hospitality. Baba Kabob has become a comfort spot for us — every visit feels like coming home. Highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for a satisfying meal and genuinely kind service. 💛

Google
Best fresh pita bread I've ever had! Very creamy hummus and kabobs to die for. Tried several dishes and all were amazingly good. I highly recommend Baba Kabob. The staff are friendly and helpful. The only slight negative is that the table legs in the booths can make it very difficult to get in and out, especially for those with mobility issues. Use a table.

Google
The food is extremely good, and plenty full. Our waiter was super nice and on point. As authentic cousine you can't get it any closer than that. We had their house tea and it was delicious. It was not spicy but very well seasoned, the presentation very pleasant. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes middle eastern food. My family and I are going back without questions.

Google
Please go and check out my favorite place to eat in Lafayette! The owner and staff make every experience perfection from start to finish. Every dish will make your tastebuds water and beg for more. They have the best chicken in Lafayette, hands down. It’s always so juicy and just melts in your mouth,as well as the steak and lamb. I highly recommend the Baba Going Crazy if you’re unsure of what you like and want a little of everything. It’s a sampler platter on steroids! The bread starter comes with 2 sauces. They even substitute or subtract things that I can’t have on my special dietary restrictions. There’s inside or outside seating and they are kid and pet friendly. This is NOT a fast food restaurant. This is a small family owned business that cooks everything fresh and serves you with a smile. If you haven’t tried this place, add it to your list and it will soon be one of your regulars just like ours. You won’t be disappointed!

Google
Our waiter (Yousef) guided us through the menu, telling us about the different dishes and making recommendations. The service was exceptional, and the food was even better. This was our first visit to Baba Kabab and we can't wait to go again!

Yelp
Dan and I had the pleasure of dining at Baba Kabab last week, and it was nothing short of outstanding. From start to finish, the experience was memorable. We ordered the lamb kabobs and the gyro, both cooked to perfection, tender, and bursting with flavor. The standout of the evening, though, was the Angry Eggplant appetizer. Honestly, it was one of the best appetizers I've ever had -- the eggplant was cooked perfectly and full of gooey cheese. All I can compare it to is a Greek eggplant parmigiana but not breaded and fried. So hearty and flavorful it could have easily been a meal on its own. Truly exquisite. The service was impeccable -- warm, attentive, and genuine. Combined with the inviting ambiance, Baba Kabab makes you feel both welcomed and well taken care of. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough -- for the food, the service, and the overall atmosphere. If you're anywhere nearby, please visit -- I'm confident you will LOVE it!

Yelp
Baba Kabob was packed tonight with every table full and it is easy to see why. The service was excellent. The waiters were attentive, helped with the menu, and kept things light with jokes throughout the evening. They start you off with warm pita bread and two sauces, one olive oil based and one tomato based. Both were fresh and flavorful. I ordered the Red Velvet Chicken and it was brought to the table flaming which was an impressive presentation. The chicken was tender, seasoned well, and came with a crisp salad on the side. The moment that really stood out was watching the staff go above and beyond for the family at the table next to us. They let a young boy go behind the counter to make his own pizza and his face lit up the whole place. That is the kind of personal touch that makes a restaurant special. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was lively, and the service was outstanding.

Yelp
Owned and operated by a family man who loves to see diners enjoying his dishes, this little gem of a restaurant is one of the best stops in Acadiana. The service was impeccable, the atmosphere was dazzling and the food took us on a delicious journey to a Turkish wonderland. The first dish of the night was a hot sampler plate full of veggie and meat borek, warm grape leaves, beefy hummus drizzled in a sauce not dissimilar to a balsamic vinaigrette, creamy tzatziki, green falafel and a crispy bite of kibbeh. Our favorites were definitely the borek bites--deep-fried Turkish pies filled with olives, spinach and cheese. After the hot plate came the mixed grilled platter, with its large skewers of lamb, gyro and chicken atop a bed of grilled veggies. These meats were accompanied by a red pepper hummus and a creamy garlic dip. My husband was practically drooling over the morsels of beef but my favorite thing was combining the flavorful and juicy chicken bites with the grilled bell peppers and onions lying underneath. Throughout this journey, we were greeted with endless amounts of warm and fluffy pita bread baked with love in a wood-fired oven. The main dishes also came with side salads (surprisingly delicious with that feta cheese dressing) and bowls of herbaceous baba rice. We ended the night with the crème de la crème: the lamb and potato stew--a tomato-based soup enveloped in a crispy bowl of pita bread. This dish was extremely flavorful while still feeling like a warm hug after an incredible adventure. Needless to say, even after reading about how great this place was, the reviews do not do it justice. You must come and experience delicious Turkish cuisine for yoursself and you must do so with an empty belly and an open heart. 10/10 run, don't walk!

Yelp
While waiting on a repair to be done on my vehicle in the area. I decide to check this place out. Fortunately or unfortunately I guess it depends on how you look at it. I did not get anything to eat.Really strange vibe to this place and they definitely aren't the friendliest bunch. So I decided not to get anything at least.

Yelp
In town working for a few days from Phoenix Arizona. Decided I needed some deliciousness. This place was perfect. I ordered the lentil soup, the halloumi cheese cooked in olive oil, and the heat plate. Oh we're outstanding and especially with the right out of the oven puffy pitas. I even have a bit left over for a delicious breakfast in my hotel room tomorrow morning before I head back to the airport.

Yelp
I couldn't find my intended lunch spot for kibbeh, ducked into here. What a pleasant surprise; foods were excellent, nice clean interior, attentive waiter. Kibbeh lightly battered & fried, good to very good. Other items OK, also. Off street parking in big lot, some shade nearby. This find will go to my "once a month" list for sure.

Yelp
Service is great ! Ask for Yousef !! Appetizers and food were awesome!! Fried goat cheese , pita bread, lamb kabobs!!! Excellent!

Laura J.

Yelp
Excellent. Beautiful restaurant clean and good service. Loved the cheese. It was in a sauce that was so very delicious and complex. Have never it had it that way before but loved it and would have again. All food was good and fresh. Also got some hot bread
google avatar

Lacey D.

Yelp
I would give 3 and 1/2 stars if I could. The food: the bread, chicken kabob, falafel and cheese borek were delicious. The not as good: the hummus was terrible. No flavor except for a strange bitter after taste. The kibby tasted okay but didn't have the signature pine nuts. The meat borek needed some seasoning or a sauce, it was just a bland flavor. As far as the service: it was a strange experience. Our waiter took a while to get to us, and he wasn't particularly friendly. We would go stretches with him walking by but not looking at us, so when we needed a refill or bread we had to work to get his attention. A group came in that were obviously familiar to the restaurant and he was charming and attentive to them. The other employees seemed very friendly.

Yelp
This is our absolute favorite restaurant in Lafayette. Everything is spectacularly delicious. The pita bread is the best I've had anywhere. The owner and servers are very kind and go out of their way to make sure that you are satisfied. Wonderful vibes. I can't way enough good things about Baba Kabab!!

Peter Y.

Yelp
First time dining here and we walked in just after eight and it was nice and quiet, the food was absolutely delicious and more than ample servings, service was perfect, if you haven't ate here before I highly recommend giving it a try ,we will definitely be back.

Yelp
Stopped in with my family. Food was delicious and appetizers were good. The servicer was good too just hard to understand his spoken language . My niece enjoy making bread and baking it. We will comeback when we are in town.

Yelp
The staff were friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious, and the portions were big. Would deffanately make it a regular stop if I lived in the area.

Alyssa W.

Yelp
Came here for my birthday lunch. What a win!! We had the halloumi appetizer with fresh, hot pita. Amazing. We tried okra beef stew, chicken schwarma plate, and red velvet chicken. All were delicious! And the portions were generous! For dessert we had the baked cheese pastry. Oh. My. Goodness! Heaven! The combination of sweet, salty, smooth, crunchy was perfect. The service was also friendly, attentive, and helpful. My only very slight disappointment was no coffee on the menu. It would have topped off an otherwise exemplary meal. Try this place! You'll have a new favorite, I'm thinking. :-)

Yelp
The service was wonderful friendly & patient since we were a group of high school friends reconnecting! I was surprised at 11 that there were only 2 other tables so hoping my review helps the business pick up. The food was delicious as always and the salads are BIG!!! Very generous portions! YES, I recommend this place AGAIN!!!

Cindy I.

Yelp
I brought my husband to lunch after raving about the lamb kabob. Imagine our disappointment when we were told the lamb had sold out the previous night and wasn't available. We ordered the chicken and shrimp kabobs-but about half way through our meal, a plate of delicious lamb showed up! THIS is the way a restaurant should be run: great food, great wait service, but most importantly with care and love by the owner! Give this restaurant a try. It won't disappoint.

Sheleste R.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant and excellent food! We had a great waiter as well. We got a sampler plate with a variety of meats. Love the char on the veggies! So delicious! Very nice experience.

Amber M.

Yelp
Love this place!! Good authentic food and the owner is awesome!! They made bread shaped like a bear for my daughter it was so sweet.

Payam S.

Yelp
Had a wonderful lunch of beef and chicken kebabs. Great sides of hummus and Greek type salad was included with feta cheese. Young gentleman was my waiter an absolute delight friendly and quick to serve. I really look forward to coming back !

Yelp
Today I enjoyed the best artichoke chicken meal i have ever tasted the sauce was outstanding. I have been enjoying this place the food is unbelievable.

Yelp
Want some over the top Turkish food? Then you gotta come to Baba Kaba! You definitely won't be disappointed with the kabab varieties, the Baba Going Crazy (1st picture), halloumi cheese , and so much more! I'm definitely coming back here next time! https://mybabakabab.com/about-us/ #lambchoponthegeaux #lafayettelouisiana #turkishfood #babakabob

I was on the fence the first time we ate here but the food was amazing the second time around. Thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes we tried.

Yelp
Spectacular foods Went there for lunch again and was overly stuffed and highly satisfied. I could have gone and had a steak and potatoes but I would have felt disappointed after choosing BaBa Kebab. The meal was superb. Ordered the hummus sampler and WOW it was beautiful and all delicious. Could have been shared between 4 people but it was all mine. And man the Halumi was soooooo good. There are nearby places that offer some of the same dishes but not to this high level of flavor. The prices are good too for the amount of food they bring you. They aim to please and boy did they do it.

Yelp
From the view point of my girlfriend: Saw great reviews, and so my boyfriend and I were excited to grab something on our way through town (we were driving back to Texas from Gulf Shores). With not many options until Houston, we thought we'd get a couple of small things to enjoy on the road and saw that we were going to make it to Baba's before they closed. As we walked up, we were told they were closed. It was just before 8:40 pm. If we were there 5 min before closing, I'd understand. Even then, if your sign says 9pm... it's 9pm. And yes, I've worked in a restaurant to know how much that sucks. But it wasn't 5 min. It wasn't 10 - it was 20. This gave us just enough time to miss any other restaurant worth trying that closed at 9 pm, too. Can't say anything for the food, but the service was not just bad; it was non-existent.

Yelp
Excellence food and great service. Clean atmosphere. Nice ownership. Pita bread is tasty. They have a wood-fired oven. Shrimp dish could feed two. I recommend.

Yelp
OUTSTANDING! This was our 1st time eating here and we're treated like family. The food was amazing and the Kibbeh, grape leaves, and Tabbouleh brought me back to my childhood. A taste of home! If you are wanting delicious authentic Greek cuisine, this is the place. It's super clean and the atmosphere is soothing and relaxing. Enjoy!

Yelp
Eggplant trio appetizer. Off menu but it's amazing! We will be back. Very fresh and authentic

Evan M.

Yelp
Best restaurant in Lafayette parish. Just go, NOW! Seriously, this is the end of the review because the food, service, and ambiance are just that great. Grade: 95 out of 100

peyton r.

Yelp
Immediate no. It feels like a caucasian version of mediterranean. The fries came with ketchup and the gyro wrap was in a tortilla instead of pita. I've never experienced anything like it. To be fair I consider myself a connaisseur of mediterranean food but I still wouldn't recommend this, unfortunately. Maybe i should've ordered something else, idk

Yelp
The Balbesi boys have branched out into yet another ethnic restaurant! What's next? We already have a Mexican Balbesi, will there be a Thai or Vietnamese Balbesi!?? inquiring minds want to know. I had seen Anna Olivier post a number of videos on Facebook about the restaurant and I was dying to try it. It did not disappoint. I met one of the Balbesi nephews Ahmed who is the head chef there. He did a fabulous job and carried on in the rich family tradition of hospitality. That is definitely one thing that separates all of their restaurants from the others. They add a personal touch by speaking with the guest and educating them on a otherwise exotic cuisine. My favorite dish was the fiery eggplant appetizer. I had it twice and snapped some pics. The tiny clay oven baked pizzas were good too. The one I had had the same green sesame sauce they serve as a dip in place of tomato sauce. It needed to mellow overnight and was truly better as leftovers. The herbs were not so overpowering that way. I had the lamb stew and my friend Tanya had a kabob plate. Also tasty. Tried 2 desserts one with cheese on the bottom the other with custard both baked with pistachio and shredded fried philo dough on top. I preferred the custard. The cheese dish could have been a savory dish without the addition of a sweet syrup. I found it an unexpectedly savory mix of flavors but it's probably an excellent low carb dessert. Can't wait to go back and try all the new flavor combos. Perhaps I'll talk Youssef into joining me next time so I'll have a spirit guide to the cuisine. Enjoy the feast!

Yelp
First timer, but definitely will not be the last. Definitely have an authentic feel to the whole place, and the food was delicious! We had the following: Vegetable Borek - thin layers of phyllo dough stuffed with vegetable - talk about crispy and flaky! Delicious and light Hummus Sampler served with pita bread - Original, blended chickpeas mixed with tahina, garlic and lemon -Sautéed chopped tenderloin beef mixed with pine nuts and pomegranate sauce -mediterranean sun-dried tomato and feta cheese -cajun style (hop & spicy) topped with roasted red bell pepper All of the hummus was delicious, make sure to ask for more pita, you're going to need it! Lamb Stew - lamb cubed with potato, cabbage, paprika and seasoning spicy sauce with basmati rice - the lamb was tender and flavorful Mozzat - slow-cooked lamb shank served on a bed of basmati rice - lamb was tender and fall off the bone! Very aromatic and delicious Definitely need to make a trip back! Check @eatinglafayette on Instagram and Facebook for more Lafayette food things!

Yelp
Fun place; Great, food and service. We stopped in on a Friday night and were amazed. The menu is extensive. The food delicious. The homemade pita, hot and fresh from the oven with two sauces could have been a meal in and of itself. We shared appetizers and were so full, we didn't get to the entrees but from checking out nearby tables with the hanging kababs, it looked fantastic. The service was really great. Thanks Ross. We were looking for a new place for a fun and different gathering. We will be back.

Betty R.

Yelp
Delicious food, great service, very clean and quiet. We went after lunch and our server Farouk was very kind and went over the top to make sure we enjoyed our food!

Yelp
Absolutely superb! Food and staff!!! We got the Baba Kabab Go Crazy option. WOW WOW WOW!!!

Yelp
Food was good and so was the service and the owner was very generous but it was a little pricy but overall so good and clean

Yelp
Best middle eastern cuisine in town hands down. Definitely advise going in person as food is better coming out fresh than in a to go box.
google avatar

Yelp
Fantastic! I will come here whenever I am in Lafayette! Delicious flavors. Nice size portions. Great pita right out of the oven! Casual and calm ambience. Highly recommend!
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
I don't usually talk about a place before I've visited a few times but my first visit was memorable. Wasn't terribly hungry so I chose two apps but both were amazing and the service was head above shoulders the best I've had in a long time. The young lady was attentive, and extremely fast and efficient. The warm pita was delicious served with a very mild oil dipping sauce. The Phillo dough sampler so light, fresh and flavorful but those livers were delicious. A clay bowl of perfectly seasoned tender liver in an oil and pomegranate dressing garnished with fresh pomegranate seeds , just perfect. Organ meat isn't for everyone but that was perfection. Won't forget this place looking forward to my next visit.

Yelp
Happy Father's day to my Dad and THANK YOU so much to Nadal at Baba Kabab for cooking up a special Lamb steak to accommodate my Dad's low/no sodium diet!!! Second time we've eaten here, and, aside from the food being INCREDIBLE, the service is truly next level. #HouseOfKabab

Yelp
I really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. It was my first time going, and I enjoyed everything about it. The ambience was very nice and, the service was great. The owner and workers were extremely friendly. The food was good as well. I had a shrimp kebab and a chicken kebab. Tried many of the dips with the fresh pita bread. I really enjoyed the grecian mayo. Will definitely come back again.

Yelp
First time there. Food was very good. Wife enjoyed her chicken, hummus, and salad. I had a wrap that was good. Ordered FF's to go with. They brought out all the food but the FF's. I was half way through eating my wrap when they brought the fries. They were homemade and good. BUT I like to have it all at one time. Service was slow. So slow service and not bringing all the food at once they get three stars.

Yelp
I enjoyed baba kabab so much ! We split a cheese kafta with small side of basmati rice, hummus, a smidge of veggies, and pickled onions/cabbage. The salad that came with the dinner was so good! I don't remember the name of it. We shared a dessert, kunafa...it was so good !! We'll be back ! Go try this place-it's delicious.

Yelp
The food ambiance the service all together is incredible. I love this restaurant would go again.

Yelp
If you enjoy Greek and Lebanese food, you will enjoy this experience. The only downer is that they sometimes have slow service.

Liz Y.

Yelp
Those kabobs are to die for!!! Love the presentation... the flavors and rice and veggies!!! Double happy!!
