If you are looking for an authentic taste of India, this is the spot. The food is really good and stays very close to the traditional flavors. It can be a bit on the oily side, but that’s often part of that rich, 'homestyle' Punjabi experience! The real standout here is the dessert counter. Their sweets are freshly made and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the Milk Cake and the Kalakand they are perfectly textured and not overly sweet. Definitely worth a visit if you have a sweet tooth or want to munch punjabi samosa!

While I was in the area, I decided to try Baba Sweets and I’m so glad I did! I had the Khulche Chhole and it was absolutely amazing. To top it off, they even gave me tea free with my meal—such a nice touch! Ramesh took my order and he was such a kind guy—thank you, buddy, for your help! This place is truly a gem 💎 with an incredible selection of food and sweets. Going to bring my son here next; he would love it! A must-try if you’re in the area!

A must-visit place for North Indian food lovers and easily one of the best options around LA. Food is always fresh so you’re never served leftovers from previous days—something that truly sets this place apart from many other restaurants. Yes, the wait time can be a bit long due to the popularity, but it’s absolutely worth it. Once it’s your turn, the staff at the counter are patient, friendly, and take the time to help you choose without rushing you. The quality, taste, freshness, and service together make for a fantastic experience. Highly recommended—10/10!

This is hands down the best samosa and chole bhature I have have had in the US! I loved the milk cake too. The raita was to die for. The place has an old sweet shop vibe. The service was great and very friendly. I would definitely go back if I’m in the area again.

I had wanted to sample the food here for quite some time. I finally stopped by and bought a 3 item combo. I enjoyed my food. Service was helpful. Dining room was busy but clean. Parking was not difficult. If you like seasonings and flavorful vegan and vegetarian food, Baba Sweets is a great choice. And the carrot dessert that came with my combo was deliciously memorable.

If this place was open every day I would never get tired of it. Somehow I live a block from this gem. A part of me wants to share it with others because I know how amazing this place is and part of me doesn't want to tell anyone because of the same reason. If you like Indian food this place raises the standards by a whole lot. I'm sure even in India you won't find more delicious food than you would at Baba Sweets. Baba Sweets hits all the right notes, spots and flavors. Do yourself a favor if you haven't been. The Garlic Naan is a must. The chana batura is the best. They make their own cheese "paneer" and likely the best vegetarian restaurant in the entire country, dare I say the best in the continent.

If you are looking for fresh, tasty, wholesome vegetarian Panjabi food, you have to visit Baba Sweets. All their dishes have distinct and distinguishing flavors with different hallmark textures. In addition, they have interesting sides. Their onion and carrot Achar (pickle), masala chili (chilis with spices) and Raita (yogurt with spices) and all fantastic. I generally pick up carry out here and also order different types of bread. My favorite is the Aloo Paratha (Bread with spiced potatoes), which can be enjoyed just alone or with Raita. Other good bets are the bhatura or the poori (both breads are deep fried, the former being much thicker and larger than the latter). Then add a little heat to your taste buds by taking bites of the masala chili. You will savor explosive flavors, satisfying mouthfeel and gastronomic satisfaction. If you like milk tea, get their masala chai (which comes infused with cardamom), is something you will remember and reorder when you come back again. They also have Chaat (Indian snacks) and a large variety of Indian sweets (if that is your fancy). Service is exceptional.

Craving Indian, this is a must-try! No frills, just a "quick" pick and go type restaurant. I put quick in quotes due to depending on line. There is a line to get into, wait your turn, get help from the person calling you to come up to the counter. Two item combo? Three item? Only a few bucks difference and lots of food extra. I always opt for the larger combo, so worth it. Saag is only available on Sundays, I know cause it's my favorite and I've asked a handful of times, lol. Their samosa is delicious, and always hits the spot. When you get your Naan (bread - comes with a combo), eat it fresh, eat it soon, the longer it sits and gets steamed in the heat bag, it changes it. The people working there are nice and friendly, and very helpful if you need some help or explaining. The carrot dessert is awesome as it is quite balanced. Sweet, but not super sweet. The Gulab Jamun is good too. Thick, but not dense, however, it is super sweet, good thing you only get one. Definitely try this place, it's one of my go-to places all the time.

On a whim I decided to make my way through the thick of late afternoon traffic for I was determined to partake in what I heard was the Valley's best kept secret of Indian vegetarian cuisine. The jammed parking lot itself was a good sign of a thriving customer base. Inside was a busy line of families all milling about. My eyes darted around the varied sweets and prepared trays of chickpeas and curries displayed behind the glass. Chaotic yet fast, I made my order with Dave who recommended a few of the side dishes, much of which sadly I cannot recall their names. I will say however that the food was absolutely delicious. Stunning in fact. Soulful and appropriate in portion. Price was fantastic as well. A great new find and a place I will come by sooner than later!

Very popular place for Indian fare in the West Valley. The food is healthy and good (and very obviously authentic). I have been here several times, but not as often as I should. No complaints whatsoever. It is a great spot.

This place is the biggest hidden gem! My family has been coming here for years, and it is seriously the best place for purely authentic Punjabi food! The line goes by fairly quickly, and once you get to the counter, you place your order all at once. They let you sit down and eat first and then you go back to the counter to pay. They give out free chai as well, which is a very great bonus. The food is high quality, I highly recommend the chole bhature as well, the chole is flavorful and packed with spices and the bhature are so soft, and fluffy. Also make sure to grab some samosas, they are the best! Seating isn't a problem. There's plenty of tables. Their parking lot is small, but people are just coming and going so there's always space available.

Food was ready to serve and so we'll priced. We got so much food for less than $40 total. It was our first time here so we didn't know the words or too familiar with the food, but we wanted to try a lot of different things. There was a long line because everyone knows where the good stuff is at. It took a bit of time in line before we got to order, but that was because they paid attention to each customer and their many orders. I loved the hand made signs they had everywhere that established the culture of the environment. For example, everything is self served. We bus our own trays and clean up after ourselves when we're done eating because they are focused on the food quality. For food, my family and I ordered 2x two item combo with vegetable rice, and four items we wanted to try. I loved all of it. The mix of flavors and spices were so amazing. We ordered the butter and garlic naan, which was hot, fresh, and delicious. We also order the samosa Chana, which was samosa doused in yogurt and other toppings. We also got the bread pakora, which was a deep fry bread with a potato filling with two different dipping sauces. Everything was vegetarian For dessert, I tried the Desi ghee ladoo, which was a sweet dessert shaped as an orange ball. I loved the texture and it was sweet but not too sweet. I also bought the peanut bar which was also delicious. For drinks, we got the mango lassi, which was a smooth mango drink, and the hot tea, which was delicious. Overall, I'm glad we tried this place. Everything was well priced and we had leftover food for lunch the next day. I would definitely come back and I highly recommend.

This vegetarian food is fantastic and flavorful and you could say it's the best quality....even matching the best home cooks for excellent quality! Service is dedicated and always correctly assembled for "To Go". It should tell you something that probably 95% of the customers are Indian due to the excellent authentic quality. You may have to wait 20 minutes to be served in the line, but it's worth it. Thank you!

This place is solid and always good . Today i have to take a star away . I got ONE single veggie ball in the 3rd entree for the 3 combo. Like seriously paid extra for the 3 item combo to basically get sauce . They need to make sure at least 2 of the balls come per order because the yellow sauce was not that great and i don't want eat sauce with rice only. ( 4 stars dor food today minus 1 for the single ball ) Pic attached .no side onions was given to me like before . Little disappointed.

Great Indian Vegetarian food- delicious and good portion sizes. The atmosphere is that of a dhaba in India which means it is perfectly functional with no frills. But we like to eat in when possible because let's face it, the hot freshly made food can't be beat! Service is adequate if they are busy when friendly when it is not crowded- they offer chai even if you are getting an order to go! Checks all the boxes and prices are super reasonable so 100% winner!

this place is soooo delicious if you're looking for indian sweets! I haven't tried the food just yet, but the dessert assortments are amazing! the line moves fast and the restaurant is clean and nice. I really feel like if you like rasmalai, the rasgolay is the way to go. it's different than rasmalai, but equally delicious. as far as the barfis go, that's more up to personal preference, but I love the pistachio one! highly recomme

Decided to try this Indian place and was pleasantly surprised. At first my friend and I were feeling out of place, but soon enough a bunch of people from different places came in. The line remains consistently long in the afternoon. They have dine in or take out. The prices are very reasonable. Average $20 per person and it came with everything in the picture. I've never been served by only men. I didn't see any women at all. They have a lot of desserts ready to be purchased. We dined in and it was alright. It's not fine dining but the prices for the amount of food were awesome. Some guy came around and gave free Jalebi baby to each person dining in.

Found one of my new favorite places tonight. My meal was absolutely delicious! I ordered a 3 entree meal and ate it there. I also got bread that they warmed for me. The meal came with a yoghurt and dessert as well. My favorite dish was the Aloo Gabi. It's a spicy and flavorful Cauliflower dish. I also got a spicy panner dish that I love that seemed to be one of the most popular of the entrees. The bread is perfect. The restaurant is a brightly colored cafeteria style. Not fancy, but clean and nice. I really like a low key style like this. The service was excellent. They took their time helping me decide what to order when I told them it was my first time. Highly recommend Baba Sweets. It's even worth a trip to the Valley! The line can get long since this is a popular place. I didn't wait long because I must have gotten there before the dinner rush. As I was eating the line became long. So plan your stop according. Just means people know this place is good! The price of the meal was very reasonable at 13 dollars!

I love this place as it serves vegetarian food and when you order, they make it fresh and it is served to you piping hot, just like Indian food should be served. My favorite is the Aloo Paratha, Daal Makhani, the Pindi Chana. My wife loves the exotic Makke Ki roti and sarson ka saag, Corn Roti, and Mustard Gravy although I am not a big fan of that. The ambiance could be better especially when you want to take guests and visitors to eat, and so one star minus for that. They give out free hot Indian tea which could be heavy on te sugar but on cold days it is wonderful. We usually order food and take away and the quantity is so generous that it lasts at least three means. totally worth the money and a must visit if you are in Canoga Park

The Chai is fabú and free. Best I have had since India. I never buy the sweets but love the savory food they sell. They have signs "NO BARGAIN" but what they mean is NO BARGAINING.

It is a good product, but rude service. Pretty much everyone's rude in this establishment. They do not know how to behave with a customer. I don't understand why they are always so rude. We are giving you money for goods, not asking for a free service. It breaks my heart that they can disrespect their customers and remain in business. Their food is average, but the sweets are good; since there is no competition in the valley, they have a free pass for rude service.

Good food and excellent sweet meats. Average ambience I would say which effects service. Staff in particular a tall young Sikh man serving behind the counters are unprofessional impolite and make you feel as if they are doing you a favor. The tall guy acts like a sheriff treating customers with suspicion. Completely un-Sikh like culture. Portions are small and pricey.

Hands down the best Indian food in the Los Angeles area and I dare say better than most Indian food you can find anywhere, India included. Fresh, quality ingredients and an authentic flavor. Priced reasonably with great portions. The fact that it's vegetarian only makes it better. On my list of top favorite eateries in the world. If your there and lucky enough to see Kheer on the menu...get it! You'll thank me later.

My problem with most Indian sweets is that they are OVERLY sweet, and that is not the case here. You can enjoy an Indian sweet that isn't all sugar and taste the other spices and flavors. Well done Baba

DO NOT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER!! Outside is not the most pleasant-looking building but trust me their food is delicious. The guy who helped me out was so nice in helping me out figure what is good (since I don't really know much about Indian food) Everything there is vegetarian or vegan and it was perfect for my grandma. The garlic naan was so fresh and crispy, it paired so well with Kadai Paneer. I also tried their cauliflower dish and it was so spicy and it was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend you try this restaurant!

This place is FANTASTIC! I always come here to bring samosas to family gatherings and events and the conversation of every party is, "Where did you get these from?!" Baba Sweets always has the best food, best service, best prices and is very clean. The staff was very respectful and even offered me tea while I waited for an order! I can't wait to go back again very soon!

My god, my soul is full. Such authentic Indian food cannot be found anywhere in LA. In love with their samosas. Best prices for the perfectly cooked food in front of you. What more can one ask for? Every food available on their menu is a must try. I cannot pick one. However, if I have to eat one food, it's their samosa. Every bite I take is an emotion for me which takes me back home. Do not miss out.

The sweets and curries from the hot bar are good but I wasn't super impressed with the chaat we tried from here. The samosas (~$1.50 each) were much smaller than I expected for the price and the filling was overly salty. The bread pakora ($1.50) was good. We also got a selection of sweets (most of them are $9.99/lb). I only tried a couple but the mango burfi and kaju katli were both good. On a second visit, I tried the two item combo for $8.99. We got the butter paneer masala and the aloo gobi (potato cauliflower) curries, and the combo comes with rice, yogurt, naan, and pickles. Not a bad deal. The paneer curry was very mild and had a sweet flavor to it. Right up my alley. My friend got the chole / chana bhatura ($5.99) and really enjoyed that. The bhatura bread was fried perfectly and went well with the chickpea curry.

Friendly staff, and friendly customers and the food... just amazing! All the flavors I was looking for was in this beautiful place. I had the paneer butter masala, palak paneer, mango lassi, along with seasoned yogurt plus garlic naan! Highly recommend : )

This place is the most authentic Indian restaurant you will find outside of India. They are the best at what they do, and they love your smiles! The service is amazing, they are always there to greet you with love filled delightfully spiced food. They have recently painted and refreshed the dine in area and it's worth the stay. Please tell them how much you love their food, they are so sweet and humble.

What happened to the samosas! Price has been going up and is $1.75 now and it was not fresh but a dried up semi cold one. Come on guys your samosas were best in town! Please bring back some good samosas! Still good don't get me wrong. Sweets particularly are the freshest in town. Place is clean, food is good, especially a few of the dishes are very Punjabi like the aloo parathas, the kadi, and the pind chana etc.

After hearing on the radio that India had just won its first Olympic gold medal in track and field *ever*, I was hit by a sudden craving for Indian food. Just so happened that I was also driving near Baba Sweets (they've been in my Yelp bookmarks forever.) It was time. I drove into the crowded parking lot and found my free parking spot, ready for lunch. Indian food has been my favorite cuisine since I was in high school, trying to convince my family members that a vegetarian diet meant something more delicious than simply swapping steak for tofu. I was successful, thanks to my local Indian restaurant. Even my staunchly carnivore father grew to love Indian food and my dear mother claims to be vegetarian to this day. Indian food has comforted me during this blasted pandemic and truly is the perfect crisis food: it's economical and lasts for days, flavor improving with each hour in the fridge. I was eager to see what Baba Sweets has to offer. Ambiance: Pandemic precautions continue during the Delta variant surge. They currently do not allow indoor or outdoor dining at the restaurant; therefore, there are indeed long lines for the to-go dishes and sweets. But it's worth it. I think I was the only non-Indian person in a 30-minute line. I consider this a good omen. When the people who are experts in a cuisine seek out a restaurant that serves that cuisine, it bodes well. Sweets: Indian sweets have earned a well-deserved reputation for deliciousness. Baba Sweets seems to specialize in burfi, a milk-based sweet, and offer tons of flavors including pistachio and coconut. You can purchase just one piece or hand-select flavors to be packed into their super cute gift boxes. (I got a box. Of course.) Very good. Menu: While Baba Sweets is known for delicious Indian sweets, they also serve many of the standard Indian dishes from their kitchen. My two item combo included perfectly cooked rice, naan (Indian flat bread) made to order, aloo gobhi (cauliflower and potatoes), chana masala (savory chickpeas), spicy onion/pepper chutney, and boonthi raita (creamy yogurt topped with gram flour balls.) With such gigantic portions, my lunch easily became dinner as well. Everything was perfectly cooked and well-seasoned. Service: Very good. The gentleman behind the counter answered all my questions patiently and once I got to the head of the line, my order came up quickly. Everything I ordered was extremely fresh and delicious. This also just happens to be my 1000th Yelp review. I'm super happy that this review honors an ancient cuisine that over one billion people call their own. We were craving Indian Food and so a friend of ours recommended Baba Sweets. We promptly came by the place before closing and ordered a few vegetarian dishes and desserts. We were not disappointed. Worth checking out for some authentic Indian food. The workers there are also polite.

If you want. The best vegetarian Indian food anywhere this is your place. This place is a cafeteria. Stand in line place your order, get out of the way they will call you when it's ready. Don't ask a lot of questions or it's no soup for you! Owner is very nice. His son is pretty cranky. Would give place 5 stars, but ambiance is Meh and it's very intimidating going there, and the stay isn't that friendly. The Food I'd great.

Was so happy to stumble upon this spot when I was out for meetings in Canoga Park! Indian food is my favorite cuisine and this place is delicious and apparently uses some of the best spices. Yum!

Best Indian food - if not, one of the best restaurants period, in the valley. Seriously. I eat here almost every weekend and it is spectacular every time. My favorites are the dal makhani and shahi paneer; everything tastes so rich and fresh. The combos come with generous portions, rice, raita, spicy pickled veggies, and naan. THE BEST!! Service is quick, no frills. Lines can be long but it is well worth the wait. Just look at all the beautiful sweets in the case! I cannot recommend Baba Sweets enough, I almost want to cry happy tears just thinking about it. Stop reading and go get some amazing food!!

I came here about a month ago. I had driven past this place dozens of times and never got the chance to stop here. An older Indian gentleman told me about this place so I had to finally try it. The food was great...better than some of the other places I've been to that have a similar setup. I appreciated how they marked whether the food was vegan or not. I would highly recommend this if you are craving good Indian food. I will definitely be back.

Love their sweets, their food and their gentle service. The prices are very decent. Have been here multiple times and never have I returned disheartened. One of the best Indian restaurants around LA. Chhole bature is a must try, the bature is not oily unlike other places. Very tasty and perfectly made. Their pindi channa is yummy as well. Demerit: they don't use eco-friendly plates or cutlery or to-go boxes. Otherwise they would have been a 5 stars' place for me. We just have one planet and it takes our collective effort to save it. Wish, everyone understood this.

Indian Food here is the BEST! The people behind the counter are nice and friendly unlike the other place on Sherman Way & Topanga. This place welcome everyone, and are very courteous . The service vibe is 100% here. They will attend to your requests until you are served! I had different vegetarian dishes from this place and they were all very good and delicious. There is parking and depending on the time you go, determines parking availability. The place is very clean! Customer service is very good! There's an outside area where you can eat, if preferred! The sweets here looks delicious. I have not tried it yet, but so far everything is delicious and good! Saag is good! Paneer with tofu is delicious. Naan is really good, both version, regular and garlic. Tables are very spacious. To go containers are really good quality. Your food comes in a silver tray which can carry your multiple dishes. Overall, this place is now #1 on the list of good delicious quality Indian food! TRY THIS SPOT! My second time here! The customer service with a smile that I did not receive from other location is available here! Try the food here! It's amazingly delicious!!!!! 5- for the service. 5- for the food.

Fantastic spot. The Chana Batura is . Actually - everything is delicious - and super flavorful. (And spicy!!) Honestly, I'd rather go here than a sit down Indian restaurant. The food is as good - or better - than any other Indian restaurant in LA. And it's less than half the price. For $20, you can get two full meals with leftovers.

The food is awesome and at this price point you can't get Indian food better anywhere else in LA. It is still being run as a small restaurant in Punjab so don't expect much of an ambiance.

Great Indian Food located in the Valley! I really enjoyed the paneer dish. Everything is very filling and affordable.

Love their food and sweets but their rules at the location are just absurd. Plus during festival season they use too much food color in their Indian sweets. The food color usually bleeds and irritates the throat. On regular days their sweets are great and don't have this much food coloring. Their food and sweets are made really well. I wish they were consistent with rules, they have all these signs up at the restaurant about placing orders and minimums for sweets need to be 1 pound which is forcing someone to buy more than they need to.

Chole bhature are top notch, by far the best we have had outside of Delhi. Also highly recommend Samosa and Pista Burfi. Jalebi was comparable to any other place. Long lines so plan ahead if you want to eat indoors.

Great place to eat Panjabi food. I had Amritsari kulcha with Pindi Chhole. Awesome. Love their makke di roti with saag. You will not go wrong with this place. The only downside is that they do not change their menu for 1/2/3 item thali.

Great Punjabi sweets place with great barfi, samosas, and jalebi. They make the best sweets that I've tried compared to many Indian stores or restaurants across the U.S. I always ensure to come here when I can and they never disappoint. I remember when I hated Jalebi with a passion, but Baba Sweets changed my mind for the better. I always think back to theirs and love them now. My favorite barfi options are the mango barfi and the coconut one. The pistachio one is good too, same with the malai. Their cha is a nice accompaniment when there too. Keep up the good work!

Great vegetarian Indian food and sweets! The 3 item combo lunch special for a little under $9 was plentiful, came with choice of rice or noodles, dessert and naan bread. Everything was flavorful. The garlic naan was fragrant, chewy, and hot! I love their sweets. We usually order 1/2 to 1 lb. and chose a variety to try. They are amazing. Each bite goes a long way and is perfectly paired with tea and their mango lassi is fresh and smooth. :P

This place is epic, tastes just like food in India, the best Indian food in LA in my opinion. Was the only non-brown person when I went which is a great sign. If you want authentic Indian food in LA, this place is it. Ambiance is definitely authentic, too, not scenester at all. Parking can be crazy cuz it's so popular but you can find street parking! Closes kind of early so check before heading over there
