General Election 2019 | Where to Eat When Canvassing in Hendon | Eater London

"One of the best Afghani restaurants in London, Baba Wali has slowly become one of Hendon’s most indispensible restaurants, particularly to the local Afghani community. The range of kebabs is stellar but make sure to pair them with Qabuli Palow with each rice grain sheened with lamb fat, and excellent mantu dumplings." - Jonathan Nunn

Very delicious authentic food. Service was absolutely amazing. Extremely friendly staff who catered to all our needs. Will definitely be back and would definitely recommend. My new favourite Afghan place. A huge shout out to Haroon who treated us as if we were as family

Saw this restaurant in passing and decided to check it out. We ordered the pulao with lamb shank. Starter came as chicken corn soup, and with the pulao they offered us afghan lamb koftas, bread, and salad. Everything was absolutely delicious, the man who served us was so friendly and the restaurant felt very warm and cozy. Will definitely come again!

I have had Afghan food in many different parts of the world and this restaurant was hands down one of the best. Owner was extremely attentive and kind making us feel very comfortable and at home. Place was really clean and AC was blasting which only made it even better. The food was entirely authentic and you could taste the grilled charcoal flavor on the lamb. Portions were huge and lots of fresh whole and chopped vegetables came with the meal. My brother and I had an entire feast and could not have been more satisfied. This is a truly authentic restaurant and you won’t be disappointed.

my friend and i were walking the capital ring and the section ended at hendon a predominant afghan community so we decided to sample their cuisine. we got here at 1.20pm and from opening the door the owner was attentive, recommended great dishes to share and even gave us some complimentary dishes to try. his only concern was our satisfaction but the food was stunning anyway. portions are massive, softest meat ever, everything was hot, the rice im thinking of asking him for a cookery class. we ordered chicken corn soup with eggs (nice and spicy), chicken tikka kebab (comes with salad and naan), kofta pilow (lamb shank under sultana and carrot rice), sabzi palak (spinach) and dough (sour yoghurt milk drink with mint) to drink. theyre cheap, big portions, great food. im going back to work my way through the menu.

Decided to give this place a try. I wasn’t sure what to order but I asked the guy that I would like something lamb based and he said to try the no.16. The lamb was cooked perfectly as well as the rice there was also a few extras which I wasn’t expecting, for the price, the amount of food and the quality I really was very surprised and very happy. Hoping I’m down here working away again so I can try a few more dishes I would highly recommend this place for sure very pleasantly surprised
