Well, the staff here was great, super friendly..... but this place missed mark for me. I am half Peruvian. I took my dad for his birthday being he is Peruvian and this is supposed to be Peruvian fusion. I will say the food was good, but unfortunately, it did not resemble Peruvian food to me at all not even a fusion of it.. we ordered chauffa and lomo Salado how could you go wrong with those two?
Well, like I said, the rice was good but definitely not Peruvian. It kind of tasted like coconut fried rice lol... very sweet and very heavy on the teriyaki. The lomo used the same sauce , so again, very sweet and heavy on the teriyaki. my husband did get a burger though and that was great...lol so the disappointment came from the fact that they sell themselves as Peruvian infusion and there wasn't much Peruvian in this meal, other than the names.
The dishes say they have aji sauce in them.... That does not seem true at all.
We love Peruvian , so we asked for some green sauce.... Aji sauce... The server said yeah we have that we just call it something else... I forget what he called it, but it wasn't salsa Verde... and that is what the sauce was salsa Verde sauce that you would get with breakfast burritos.... This place is not only Peruvian fusion but I believe it is Cuban fusion two and even Cuban sauce, which is mojo sauce has cilantro...there was no cilantro tastes in any of this food. Sooooo as nice as the servers were... I can likely say we will not be back.
The plates about $20-$30 a person , if it hit the spot that would be fine, but unfortunately it didn't.... I will say there was plenty of parking as we were in the restaurant. The restaurant does have an outdoor smoking area and plenty of seating, very clean very comfortable.... But it does seem to be more of a bar setting that takes place at night.... Which makes sense because this is Havasu. There is a beautiful view of the water as well.
We didn't have high expectations because this is Havasu they didn't even meet them halfway. Good place to go for burgers and if you're not looking for Peruvian food.... Again, the staff was great. Just didn't hit the spot for us.... And I do believe if they are going to Peruvian, they should educate themselves somewhat Peruvian food and get a few more staples.
