Enjoyed the atmosphere and simplicity here. Menu has 6 main courses and the sides are unlimited. By far enjoyed the chicken tenders the best. The catfish/steak/ wings were all okay as well but the tenders came out so crispy and not too greasy. It tasted pretty fresh and not too heavy like other tenders.

Family loves to eat here! I’m a vegetarian & I even leave full. Helpful hint to any vegetarians out there, let them know you’re vegetarian and they’ll just charge you for a “veggie plate”. It’s cheaper and that way you’re not paying for something you don’t eat!

My first visit. The weight wasn’t that long for a Saturday night. The service was friendly I would say probably not attentive enough for me with refills. They were a few and far between. The quality of the food was outstanding portions are a bit small. You’ll get refills but they just take time. That’s not fun when you’re waiting for refills and you’re hungry and you wanna eat. I mean when you have five full grown men and you bring two bowls of mashed potatoes each with a couple spoon full of mashed potatoes that’s not gonna last long lol. I like the ambience there and the restrooms were very very clean. Thank you. It was a bit noisy for me. We couldn’t hear each other talk. I certainly would visit again support local

Delicious chicken and catfish. All the sides you can eat. Chicken fried steak, fried chicken, smoked chicken, chicken tenders and catfish are your protein choices. Salad, corn, green beans and mashed potatoes and gravy are all never ending sides that are all included with your meal.

I loved it! It's a nice and pleasant restaurant, the ambiance is nice and I liked the food in general. The variety and flavors of the appetizers were good. I recommend you to go here very hungry, my mind was stuck on what I couldn't eat :) The prices are a bit high for chicken, but I think they can be considered normal with the by-products. The staff were polite and helpful. The restroom was clean (this is important for me) I will come back and try the chicken with different sauces.

My partner kept telling me about this place and how amazing the “fried chicken” is here! He was not telling a story! The food is absolutely amazing.. some of the best fried chicken I have ever had in my life. You order a half chicken or a whole chicken. Then they bring the side out in what’s called a family dinning. Everyone shares the sides. Every food item that I put into my mouth was bursting with flavor and tasted homemade! It was SOOOO DELICIOUS! Don’t forget to take home the homemade “banana pudding” it melts in your mouth it’s so good! Customer service was a little rough at first by the greeters and cashier. Neither one smiled or acted like they were happy to be there. Our server was amazing. She was knowledgeable of the menu, friendly, and helpful! The price is high.. I always say.. you get what you pay for! Give them a try.. You will leave fat and sassy!

We returned after a several year hiatus. The food was still good and the service was awesome. The atmosphere could use a few updates as it looked a bit tired. I would like to see a few more menu options. The $25 dollar a plate price was just a little pricey for the experience. The food was all well prepared and we did enjoy ourselves. A party of 4 was in excess of $120.

Just hard to beat this southern comfort food. Fried chicken, smoked chicken, chicken tenders, chicken fried steak....come on! Hands down one of my favorite restaurants. Note that BYOB ends September 2024.

I don't know what happened since the last time we ate here, but the mashed potatoes were very gummy. Everything else was the familiar delicious chicken and sides. I mixed it up and ordered their hickory smoked chicken... really tasty! Service was a bit slow, but our waitress was nice and cheerful. None of the wait staff sang this time, which was a bit disappointing. The joint was decorated for Christmas, which was very festive. We'll come back here for time and eternity.

My guess is this spot is popular and loved because of the decor that keeps you distracted while waiting for your food. Not a bad thing ofc, but I confess I find most of the signs either too esoteric or inconclusive to be amused by. Must be just me. The service here is kind, but nothing special. Your typical young folk staff who are polite but also seem a bit over being there. But we have never had bad service here. Now for the comfort food. I don't really taste anything signature in their fried chicken. It's standard, straightforward, and safe. There isn't some iconic seasoning that makes you nod your head at the person sitting next to you like "THIS is fried chicken." Humble ol' Chick Fil-A blows Babe's chicken outta the water. The potatoes, corn, and greens... yeah, it's just potatoes, corn, and greens. A little slushy in texture and not spruced up one iota. I will say I do like the hickory smoked chicken. It's the only food I've tried that has character.

Great home cooking venue with a family experience. The wait staff here are super talented. They will sing songs and even line dance from time to time. The food is good and all the sides are served family style. The biscuits are to die for, Slather them with butter and honey, Yum!

FINALLYYYY! I got around to going to babes for a coworkers birthday. If I had a dollar for every time somebody told me to go try this place, I'd probably have like $10, but nonetheless, I finally made it. So everything was family style and I didn't know it was byob until I got there but I know for next time. They do not have to go boxes or cups. Everything to go you put in a bag, so just be aware if you wanna bring your own Tupperware ANYWAYS, the food was DELICIOUS! I have nothing bad to say about the food truly. The fried chicken was perfectly crisp and seasoned just right. Not too salty but not bland either. The fried catfish was also perfect. Cooked good and crispy. Seasoning was great. Honestly was impressed by the catfish I had. Chicken tenders were basic but still good tenders. Nice crispy coating, almost reminded me of chicken express tenders but better. The mashed potatoes looked pretty bland upon looking but honestly were very good with the gravy on top. They were smooth and buttery. Green beans basic but good flavor, wasn't mad at them. The biscuits were delicious and slather some butter and honey on that bad boy and you got a good bite! Idk what took me so long to get here but I'm glad I finally did and I will be back a lot!!

You can't ever go wrong with Babe's. The food is always consistently so good and fresh. Literally steam coming from my food every time. The servers are attentive and nice. The management always checks in too. Haven't been in a while to this location but glad they renovated the bathrooms. So nice and more spacious.

Hadn't visited a Babe's in two decades, but it was exactly how I remembered. Tables of families seated around piles of chicken and sides. You order your choice of protein here (fried chicken, smoked chicken, fried catfish, etc.) and eat the unlimited sides family style - a weird ice berg lettuce salad that was strangely sweet, biscuits (tasty with the butter!), beans and corn (the best side). The chicken was perfectly cooked, each piece delicious from thigh to breast. Service was warm and friendly. If you have any leftovers, you're welcome to dump the proteins into the clear plastic bags they have hanging on a post. I really enjoyed the meal here, but I will admit I feel like a tank of bricks leaving it. Only come here if you can guarantee yourself a long nap after!

Such a cute place for a good meal. A lot of great food for your money. Service was outstanding. Will definitely go back.

This was one of the more unique restaurants I've ever visited as their process is simple, efficient and most importantly, delicious. From their starting salad and biscuits to their chicken and sides and finishing with dessert, this was an incredibly satisfying meal with no frills. The chicken is juicy with some.of the crispiest skin I've ever had. Our waitress was attentive, patient and incredibly friendly. It is a BYOB establishment as well, but a lemonade treated me just fine.

Babes is the Best Family Style Dining! Everything is delicious! All is AMAZING! Been to their location in Downtown Carrollton and the one in McKinney.

There's a reason this place is called babes. Nobody and nothing can make me feel as special and good as my babes, but this place is close. The chicken was juicy, crispy, and seasoned, and the sides were swimming in butter, just how Jerry and Sherry like it. Sorry about the picture. Babe's Chicken is not to miss in Texas when visiting the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The original is in Roanoke, Tx in Denton County. We go to the one in Carrollton sometimes when visiting the city, as well at the Frisco and Arlington locations. We have never had a bad meal and the atmosphere at everyone is different and the same! They are the same in that they are interesting and quirky in the decor and layout - and the same in that they are all cool and fun! The food and service are outstanding. The speciality is Texas hospitality serving up fried chicken or chicken fried steak with all the side dishes served family style. This a for sure family favorite for our bunch and we never miss when in the DFW area!

The fried chicken season quite well the food or the hole is really good great family association they even did a dance in there it was nice. Our services on point she kept it you know the food was served basically you had your fried Chicken on a platter or chicken or whatever and your sides you know serve together so everybody just kind of dug in themselves with their boxes at the table. A server I can't remember her name was really good we appreciated her and this is my first time coming to babe's this is about one year anniversary living in Texas so both accounts a good experience

It's been a few years since I've eaten at Babes and I can say there have been some major changes. The service is much much better than it previously was and that makes a world of difference. There was never a problem with the food I mean who doesn't like fried chicken, or chicken fried steak with green beans, corn, mashed potatoes and gravy and an iceberg lettuce salad with sweet dressing? OMG and let's give a round of applause for the banana pudding. Glad to see some change as this place definitely turned my negative review around.

This is a must stop restaurant. Locals will heavily recommend this restaurant for traditional southern food. We always order the fried chicken all the fixings. This is perfect for everyone. And the sides just keep coming. I love it especially in Christmas bc it's very festive. Always fast, food always hot, service is SO kind. MUST STOP IN

Simply great fried chicken. A huge plate of mixed pieces for four people, plus all of the sides. So good!

Such fantastic fried chicken here at BABES! Tasty, remarkably rememberable You CANNOT take home the sides. However there are bags around on the wooden post, YOU MAY take home your chicken/steaks AKA the meats you have ordered. Other than that leave everything else there! Only thing that still stresses me out is the whole ordering here, ha! I get the whole family style, however I always underestimate how much food actually comes out! We usually come here with a family of 7 or more. Be prepared to eat & eat good!

Always a good time to be had a Babes! Stopped in with the family and we got the Chicken Fried Steak, Chicken Tenders, and Fried Chicken. All was uniformly delicious and we enjoyed all the sides. Our server was quite professional and kept a good eye on the table. The restaurant is clean and inviting with a fun atmosphere. Great place to bring out of town guests!

Their chicken is everything, juicy, flavorful, crispy, fresh. I was very satisfied with my visit to babes. I called my order in to go and by the time I arrived 15 mins later everything was ready. A sweet lady brought it out to my car and I was on my way in a jiff. I would absolutely come back here to try other meals!

As part of the illustrious Babe's franchise, rustic country charm permeates every square inch of this place both inside and out. So before you even start eating you can feast your eyes on the decor, composed of an interesting and unique mishmash of southern themed odds and ends. To accommodate the high volume of customers (and there's pretty much ALWAYS a crowd) they have an overflow dining area that's completely separate from the main dining room, which is where we sat on our most recent visit. I actually found the annex be more comfortable because it holds fewer people thereby making it quieter. No menus are provided here since everyone gets the same sides - buttermilk biscuits, salad, green beans, corn, mashed potatoes and gravy- plus one of 5 meats - fried chicken, chicken tenders, chicken fried steak, smoked chicken or catfish. With the chicken tenders they have honey mustard, barbecue sauce and ketchup for dipping. I've tried everything and can honestly say that there are no bad choices. It's all delicious! If you are extra committed to blowing your diet and/or want to satisfy your sweet tooth they have desserts as well (that are also not listed on their non-existent menus). We got the banana pudding on our last visit and, although I'm not normally a fan of banana flavored desserts, I have to say was very tasty. Now comes the justification for the 4 star rating. There are a couple aspects of the experience that I wish were different. One is that taking home leftovers of anything besides meat and biscuits is implicitly discouraged by the fact that they only provide plastic bags. It's a shame to see all those sides that you've paid for and could enjoy later go to waste. Next, is that parking can be a bit of a nightmare especially during peak times. The dedicated lot is small and you can't park in many of the nearby spots beyond it because they are reserved for other businesses. Needless to say, driving around trying to find a parking space while avoiding those tow away zones can be time consuming and frustrating.

The fried chicken is mind blowingly good, fresh hot and bursting with flavor. Some of the best american fried chicken you will eat. Green Salad - Iceberg lettuce with some AMAZINGLY unhealthy sweet sauce absolutely killer i love this. Biscuits - Fresh, hot and crispy dabble some honey on it and it will take you to a better place! Mashed Potatoes - Creamy and gravy is delicious dip your chicken in and boom... Green Beans - Meh they are what they are haha Corn - Its fine... Sauce Tip: they have 4 kinds of bottled hot sauce Dessert - $3.99 a slice Banana Cream Pie - Pretty bad honestly VERY sweet to the point it wasnt really edible Cherry Cobbler - This was very good actually a nice way to finish the meal id recommend this one not overly sweet a bit tart. Drinks: Sweet Tea is a Must here very good Parking: Smaller lot but we always seem to get lucky, maybe 20 or 30 spots Service: The absolute nicest staff. Loud rambunctious, play practical jokes on every table and are just the most wonderful people! This is a must visit and eat while in Dallas, you have to make the trip to Carrollton it's worth it

Saturday evening to visit with son and his coworkers. Party of 7 so we expected a wait, w huh wasn't long. A hot evening so that fans and misters outside were nice. What we liked: * The patio area and the building is clearly not a fancy corporate franchise- it's uniquely odd and satisfying. * Once we were seated, service was quick. * The catfish and chicken tenders were quite good. *No complaints with green beans, corn or salad. *overall price wasn't bad. What could of been better: * No menus, waitress didn't really explain anything until she started taking our order as we didn't know what to order. Wasn't a deal breaker but some type of overview which options would of been good. * fried chicken is one of my favorite dishes, the chicken was moist and tasty but the fried batter portion had some opportunity. *The gravy was more of a country gravy, with little flavor. A chicken gravy would be much better but it is what it is.

Upon arrival at this location, we were taken in by all of the decor! They had a wonderful seating area outside and a lot of places to take family photos. Once we were seated, we were welcomed by our server. He did not give us the rundown of how the restaurant worked, but because I had done my research I knew to order the protein and that the sides were family style. It would've been nice if you would've asked we've been there before. The food arrived and it was all delicious! The kids had a fantastic time and we will definitely be coming back.

We are regulars here at Babes & love eating here all the time! We love the biscuits especially. just really miss the jam they use to have.

Came here on a Saturday night and it was just starting to get busy. Super laid back atmosphere, and casual. There was no wait for us, so that was good. The server came by to explain how the restaurant works. Each person orders an entree and it's all served family style. The sides are unlimited. You can take stuff home with you, but they have no takeout containers, only plastic bags. It's a neat concept and I understand not providing to go boxes. Server was quick and attentive without being smothering. We ordered the fried chicken and chicken fried steak. Both were excellent. Crispy and moist! The cream gravy accompanied everything so well. My favorite was the mashed potatoes and the sweet corn. The secret is to mix the potatoes and corn, and the top it off with the gravy. Super big portions of protein. Can't wait to come back!

Wow, this place is the hidden gem. There were 3 of us and we each ordered different items (catfish, chicken fried steak and fried chicken). The sides are all given to you family style (you get em all). The fried chicken was the best with the CFS and catfish tied for close second. Love the ambience of "comfort", non pretentious interior, amazing service . Just overall A+++ (I was in town for work and have to starred as a must revisit)

Incredible restaurant! You know they have to be amazing when their menu is small since they master all of their food items. You order your style of chicken and then all the sides are unlimited. Had the fried chicken and the mashed potatoes and corn were on a different level!

Food is excellent and the ambience is casual. Our waitress was very attentive and kept the drinks coming. It's bit pricey for lunch but what can you do.

It's understandable that food gets forgotten for Togo orders from time to time. We ordered 5 entrees and received no sides, gravy, or any sauces. Too far to go back so we decided just eat what we got, when we received a call from Babes saying that they forgot to give us a bag of food. They proceeded to get or info to send gift vouchers that we never received. Again, we get that food is forgotten time to time but don't call and interrupt our incomplete dinner that y'all provided for shits and giggles.

Love the concept of ayce sides with a protein purchase. Love the mash potatoes and corn.

Very friendly staff and management We have a loud child with Special needs the Manger brought out Jeff the man the fake but looks real man and let our son eat with him and our family ,it was a Early birthday to celebrate while in Dallas as we are two hours away from home , The food was excellent hot and the smoked chicken was juicy and nice amount of hickory smoke ,the sides are always good as well as the biscuits and honey and sorghum yummy

Always delicious, consistent, never lets me down. I've been to the Garland and a Fort Worth location and now trying this one. Not as busy as the other two spots. Went here on a Friday night and was seated immediately. The fried chicken is always on point. And I love how they do the corn and the mashed potatoes. I also love that they serve molasses for the biscuits. They also serve catfish which I always forget about. Everything was great as always.

Babes is an amazing place to eat . Home style corn green beans and mashed potatoes with the best fried chicken I've ever had . However, the poor wait staff is made to line dance in middle of the restaurant with the worst country song ever recorded "boot scoot boogie" I cringed at the tormented looks on the the staffs faces as they were made to humiliate them selves for 3 minutes as they looked at the horror on my face as I was forced to watch . Can we just be a really really great place to eat without the goofy crap like this? Personally I feel line dancing should be outlawed and violators shot on sight . Other than that you can't go wrong with babes!

Chicken was fantastic, and the vibes were rustic and country. Biscuits were amazing as well- Cool thing I found out after ordering was the sides were all you can eat, if you can stomach the extras that is as the main portion is a lot of food as it is.

Food is always amazing! So much to eat and comes out very fast! One issue we ran into was taking home leftovers. They only have bags for not just meat but also all the sides. Their sides are all soft and liquid which makes it hard to take home. We live out of town by 2 hours. Only to go orders get boxes and they wouldn't give us any unless we bought to go orders. This felt cheap and not friendly. We don't even mind paying for a box but weren't alllowed to. I have been to numerous babes locations in the past few months and they consistently run out of desserts early into the evening. Go early for a full menu availability and take your own Tupperware.

Always a favorite every time I come to the area! 5 meats to choose: fried chicken, chicken strips, catfish, smoked chicken and chicken fried steak. Then they serve the sides family style and it's all you can eat (green beans, corn, biscuits, salad and mashed potatoes). Good home cooking and fun family atmosphere.

This place was truly the highlight of my trip the ambiance is welcoming and the food is amazing although the music is a bit loud for my taste. My family still had an amazing time.

I admit I don't come here as much as I want; usually bringing friends from out of town when they want to try good southern food. It's very consistent. My favorite is always the chicken friend steak. Friends also ordered the fried chicken and chicken tenders. The breading is always flaky and seasoning is delicious. Meats are juicy. Sides are always still unlimited with the biscuits, green beans, corn, and mashed potatoes. I love the mashed potatoes; they are so creamy and flavorful. My only gripe is the salad can be too vinegary sometimes and the green beans often are overcooked. But you really can't beat their meats. It'll make you sleepy afterwards though because it's very filling and worth the price.service has always been great, but maybe in old but sometimes it's a little dimly lit.

This was my first visit and I was not disappointed!! I'm glad I came with people who had been here before because I would have been super confused otherwise. We came with a big birthday party of 12 and they graciously accommodated us with a very minimal wait. They bring out the Italian salad and biscuits before the sides and meals. They bring out all of the sides with the meal (green beans, white gravy, mashed potatoes, and creamed corn). They also bring out small condiment bowls and hot sauce on request. The chicken was excellent. I am in the minority, but I don't like greasy fried chicken. This was not greasy. The sides were all delicious, southern cooking. All in all this lived up to the hype, we had a great server (Israel), and we even got to embarrass our birthday boy with the complimentary chicken dance!

Good food, but it's been better. Went to the Frisco Babe's a couple of years ago and was blown away by each part of the meal. Tried the Carrollton location last night with that memory in mind. Service was fantastic and very caring. The ambiance is fun and down home. And refills on salads and sides if you care for more. One of the best biscuits I have had. Good salad (the dressing makes it). The corn was fantastic. However, the chicken fried steak was a little thin and a little dry. Gravy had good flavor. Mashed potatoes were a little on the thick side, but good flavor. Smoked chicken had a perfect smoked flavor but not a lot of meat on the 4 pieces we had. What was wrong? I was comparing it against a perfect Babe's experience at another location. If I had not had that meal I would have said this was a great food experience, instead of a very good food experience. However, this is a great value for your dining dollar.

Saturday night - Had an emergency dinner. Tried to make a meal at home and screwed it up. Already had cooked carrots, mashed potatoes, broccoli on stove top. Thought, what would go with these sides? We have been in the area 15 years and had never tried Babe's. Let's do it. Called in and said "I need 2 chicken fried steaks to go, no sides." They said be ready in 30 minutes. Done and done. Drove the 2.5 miles and pulled into pick up slot. $30 bucks and gave them a $5 tip. Got home....... NO @#$%^&*&^%$#@ Gravy!!! I called pissed........; "There's NO Gravy!" They said "You have to order that as a side." Are you #$%^&*()(*&^%$#%^&*( shi#$%^&*(*&^%$#%^& me!!!???? Who the hell sells Chicken fried steak with no gravy on it!!!?? Why would they not say that on the phone??!! Dumba#$%^%$#@$%^!!! And they were cold with 2 black hairs on one of the pieces... We won't ever go back.

Good ole family style dining with all the chicken you could ask for. We frequent this location often after church with our family and always have a wonderful meal. This last time we were there, we were disappointed that they changed their soda offering - the new stuff isn't great at all. But aside from that, no complaints. You really can't go wrong at Babes.

Very Tasty & Fun! First time here. Ordered the chicken strips. They were light and crispy and portion size was very generous for the 3 of us! Sides were also delicious and all you can eat! Biscuits melt in your mouth. Service was on point refilling sides and drinks. It was fun watching the staff dance and have a good time. Everyone was super nice & friendly! I will be back next time I fly into Dallas!

Our server was outstanding!!! He was kind, cordial & extremely polite and friendly. He made sure we never ran out of anything!!! I can't remember his name. For me, the atmosphere is what keeps me coming back. The food is good. I was jonesing for chicken fried steak and that's all we got. I should've got some chicken!!! The unlimited side were great, as always! Keep up with the great customer service and I'll continue to come back!

Wow how have we not been here before!!! This place has the best home cooked chicken and veggies and fantastic biscuits we've had in a long time!! Family style dining, you order the type of chicken you want (fried chicken, chicken fried steak, strips) and they bring corn, mashed potatoes, and the best green beans EVER! Biscuits on the side... everything was fantastic. Super FAST service and friendly staff. If you're there long enough you might just catch the staff doing the Hokey-Pokey. Make sure you keep room for deserts! It's popular so plan ahead because they don't hurt for customers. We WILL be back!!

Usually busy but they offer good service and amazing side dishes. My favorite is the corn & mashed potatoes!
