Babe's Chicken Dinner House

Recently met with friends at the Babes Chicken Dinner House on Page Street in Frisco and had an expectedly nice meal. There are two indoor seating areas, can be quite busy so be patient when it comes to seating. No reservations, just first come, first serve. Opening hours are 11am to 2pm (lunch) and 5-pm (dinner) during the week and 11am to 9pm on weekends. Everything is very simple. Choose one of five chicken (or fried catfish) mains. They will be brought out along salad and unlimited cream biscuits, corn, green beans, mash potatoes. I ordered the chicken fried steak and found it to be pretty good. All sides were fine. They offer desserts as well if you've room left over after your chicken dinner . This is a fun place to eat as a small group or family. Prices are reasonable for the quantity and quality of the chicken dinners. Service is friendly and very timely with bringing food out to the tables. Environs are enjoyable for a casual night out. Would enjoy eating at Babe's again in Frisco or one of their other branches.

If you're looking for southern comfort food, this is the place to go. You can't go wrong with their fried catfish, chicken fried chicken, or fried chicken. They also have smoked chicken if you don't want fried food. With your entrée comes their unlimited sides like cream corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, salad, and bread. This is our go-to comfort food place.

Finally got to try this place. I had a great time. Beat the dinner rush. Tried the chicken fried steak, fried chicken and all of the sides. I’ll definitely be back.

We used Babe’s catering for our wedding in Frisco in July. We coordinated with Erin Reynolds and the process was super easy! She was very communicative, which we appreciated. We got Babe’s delivered to our venue and had staff serve it and it was great! It was a big hit with our guests. There was barely any chicken left to take home after the wedding! We love babes and our venue was close to the Frisco location so it all made sense and it ended up working out perfectly. Hostess was friendly and gave us a warm welcome. Kevin was our server, he was attentive, friendly, prompt, knowledgeable and attentive. Food was delicious and kevin delivered it hot. We definitely enjoyed the dancing show, wowza, 💯, fabulous. Babe is the best 👊

On my current road trip I had several friends suggest Babe's to me and it was absolutely amazing and probably the best fried chicken I have ever had. All the sides were awesome as well. Definitely will visit again.

We knew Babe's Chicken was good, but we were pleasantly surprised by the wonderful ambience and super nice service! The food, as expected, was delicious, but the overall experience was truly elevated by the friendly and attentive staff. A special shout-out to Ms. Ava and Ms. Elena – they made our visit extra special! Thanks to this power duo for making our meal so memorable.

First time visiting the Babe's up in Frisco. Food was good as always, the staff very fast and friendly. It was a random Monday for lunch, but the restaurant seemed oddly empty. Actually finding the restaurant and entrance is actually a bit of an adventure in itself. There's no main sign and only an unobtrusive hours placard letting you know you're in the right place, and you have to go up some nondescript steps to find the restaurant. It's also very dark inside the restaurant for some reason.

5 stars!!! Their food is good, but you go for the overall experience. Take anyone who is visiting you from out of state, especially if they are new to Texas! If it's your birthday, they do something special just for you . Great vibe, great for larger groups and their servers are everywhere so you will be helped, greeted and even see a little boot scoot'n! We haven't been to Babe's in years so we wanted to take our girls to see if they enjoy it as much as we did. We stopped by on Sunday at 4:30 pm and were about to be put on a short wait list but they accommodated us quickly. Our server was prompt and constantly checked up on us. We ordered the Chicken Fried Steak, Fried Catfish, and Chicken Tenders. The biscuits and salad were a good start. Don't forget to add honey (already at the table) to your biscuits. I didn't love any of the main dishes, but I couldn't get enough of the Creamed Corn. The Mashed Potatoes and Gravy were okay, but I was not a fan of the Green Beans. That's highly unusual because I love vegetables. I couldn't eat much of the Banana Pudding as it was too sweet and was missing crispy vanilla wafers. It was a fun scene with the decorations on the walls and the staff dancing and singing. I wouldn't go back but would recommend it to those celebrating birthdays, graduations, etc.

I had a problem finding the entrance, but the staff helped me find my way. I ordered take-out, and each member of the staff was very nice. with the The chicken strips were hot and tasty. But, I wished that they offered more than honey mustard as a sauce selection.

Babes Chicken is a hidden gem - literally was super to find the first time since it hidden basically within the Frisco museum. I wish it were a bit more clear how to get to the front door. Same thing with the menu which was very confusing at first glance. Really should have paper copies to make it more clear and not just have the waiter list everything. But once we got the food ordered it was really good. Homemade salad dressing is delicious and the chicken tenders were the favorite. Other than that the service was great and we loved the restaurant ambiance itself. The barn theme and decorations were a lot of fun and definitely worth the visit. We will definitely return when guests come to town!

It has been a minute since I've been to Babe's Chicken Diner. The last one I visited was in Garland, so I came here with family. We had chicken fried steak, chicken tenders, chicken fry, and all the sides. Everything was delicious. Excellent, a lot of food. The biscuits were so good, though, with the butter and the honey. Yum. The chicken tenders were delicious. It's a lot. I think eight pieces came with it. They're small, but they were excellent. The chicken fried steak, according to everybody, was delicious, and sitting with the fried chicken is a lot of food, so make sure you go hungry. The place is charming. I love it, really busy though. Our waitress was terrific. She was swamped. She did a great job, though. The only downside to it was that it was hot in there. I know there were many people, but it was still warm. Overall, it was a great experience. Had fun with family and food.

Friendly and entertaining service. Eclectic but kitschy decor. Ok food. In Frisco--down past the train museum, around the corner from Kelly Clarkson street (I added the Kelly part), and 126 years ago--sits a folksy chicken restaurant called Babe's. I visited with my elderly parents who think of Babe's like a favorite old chair... e.g. "It's absolutely perfect". (I tend to think of Babe's more like an old shoe; comfortable, but out of style). If kitschy Texas signs, line-dancing waiters, and canned YMCA music is your thing, you have found a home. They serve both kinds of food, "Fried Chickens" and "Chicken-Fried Steaks". DON'T ask about side dishes because that is the same for every order and served family style; Mash potatoes, green beans, biscuits, cream corn, and salad. My parents LOVED the salad. (I recognized it as a zero-frills tossed iceberg salad with a simple oil and vinegar dressing). Everything was fine. Greasy chicken and CFS w/ cream gravy. It was super ok. Almost satisfactory even. But I found the whole experience kinda tired, from the stuffed chicken taxidermy (which was everywhere) to the fake "Texas Secede" road sign. If that style is your ballpark, well... "Play ball!" And head over to Babe's!

The chicken was yummy, the biscuits were perfect! And I loooved the mashed potatoes. We got country fried steak, fried chicken and chicken strips. Everything was good. Everyone has to order a meat and the sides keep coming. The inside was quirky and cute and we got really good service. The table is also served with what seems like a boring salad, but actually is really good. The dressing is perfect. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is bc my tummy hurt afterwards.

The curbside service is a joke. They give you a time to pick up your order, but when you arrive for the pick you are expected to wait another 30 minutes for your order.

When we went here, there were no menus. I thought the price was outrageous. When I asked if they had cheaper options the rude waitress failed to tell me about the vegetable plate. Your fried chicken is not that good. I've had better at KFC. Vegetables are ok, but certainly far from the best. Your service was horrible. I do not recommend and will not be back.

Always consistent and excellent food and service - a must stop at one of the many DFW locations! We've been eating here for years and recommend the chicken friend steak or the fried chicken - you cannot go wrong!

Delicious Fried Chicken with all sides that come with it. We came in late, so chicken temperature needs adjustment. Thanks to manager gave us complementary for 1 order. Excellent services. Recommended to come early, even if the wait time is too long, still worth nice atmosphere inside.

Food was very good and the atmosphere was great the waiters was great . Did not know about the way they take to go food home . But it was pretty good for my dad's dinner . Surprising there was no alcohol on menu either .

As a first timer...just WOW. This is the best fried chicken I've ever had in my life. Their mash potatoes & gravy and corn dish were perfection. Additionally, service from Kyra was impeccable. Definitely looking forward to coming back here again in the future!

This is a local love for many! The location is great in a historical spot with good parking. Service is exceptional. Food is salty. Everything has a similar taste from high salt. The chicken is good for sure. And the biscuits. All the sides are served family style. The 'salad' is a bowl of wet lettuce. I don't know why they bother. The potatoes are good, the corn is laden with sugar, and the beans are also well seasoned. It is too bad. These lovely vegetables are delicious without all the additives. It detracts from the potential of the meal. I think Babe's is worth a visit, and bring your family when they come to visit. But the salt content is too unhealthy for regular consumption.

Tried Babe's at the recommendation of multiple people. I wasn't impressed at all. I ordered the fried chicken , and unfortunately, it was a huge letdown. For the price, I expected something unique or high-quality, but what I got was four pieces, overly salty fried chicken that was a bit too greasy for my taste . To make matters worse, the sides seemed canned--there was nothing fresh or homemade about them, which only added to the disappointment. Additionally, they have some frustrating takeout restrictions, which made the whole experience even less enjoyable. For the premium they're charging, I expected a much better meal and more flexibility. Overall, the food was overpriced, uninspired, and left me feeling like I didn't get anywhere near my money's worth.

The food is ok, but we really go for the experience. Babes has nice servers and the atmosphere is incredible. The only problem was the food and the price.

First time here -- so cool! The waiter and waitress were dancing, and my server Alivia even sang the country song Jolene. Beautiful voice, Great service and fun dining entertainment. Definitely coming back again!"

We love the food here , it's so tasty and if you want the taste of authentic southern comfort food , this is the place for You! And we Want to give a special shout out to Jenni , our favorite and most attentive server ever ! She goes out of her way to make sure you have plenty to eat and drink, at all times . You never have to search out the crowd to find her , she never lets you run out in the first place Jenni goes out of her way to make sure you have positive experience, every single time you come ! This place is an old fashioned experience. Babe's sells a simple Deep South themed menu that is all you can eat for a reasonable per-person entry fee. An excellent choice for groups or for parties, especially given the size of their building. You can also ask for more of anything and everything you get, except the chicken, free of charge. The staff here are very friendly and seem happy to be there. 8/10, only because while it's a fun place for a group and it's basically a Brazilian steakhouse for fried chicken, I wasn't blown away by anything I was served.

Drove over an hour to celebrate birthday with family only to discover they are closed from 2-5 pm. We wanted to avoid the crowds we experienced the last time but had to go elsewhere. So disappointed! Need to update their hours on here! And 5pm?? No way to avoid noises crowds with those hours so...

My Family and Friends went to have an early lunch here before our friends leave for the airport. We ordered fried chicken and fried catfish with sides of unlimited salad and biscuits. They're delicious. Servers are friendly and helpful. Well decorated and moderate lighted restaurant.

I can't say enough good things about this place. The smoked chicken is phenomenal, perfectly cooked, tasty, juicy, & just perfect. I like the fried chicken as well, but always prefer the smoked. Service is always top notch. Every body there is friendly, helpful, and every now and again they do a dance. I keep trying to talk to management about adding newer songs like the Cupid shuffle. The food is "family style" serving, so basically your server will take your drink order, and ask, "Smoked or Fried". Sure, they have chicken fried steak, but I recommend skipping that for the smoked. All the sides come out with the meal and all are bottomless. I just moved to Texas in 2022 and when friends & family visit, I always bring them here. (( sucks dining alone at a place like this )) so I take advantage when friends are here. Go! Enjoy!!

All the food is great. All you can eat veggies with the best center of the plate items (Chkn Fried Steak & Fish are my personal favorites). The only negative I have & that is only because of my personal preference is I will not eat the salad as the dressing is way too sweet for my taste. Service has always been very good in all the locations I have eaten. The decor is perfect for the down home country cookin' they provide.

Always Great and I have been to 4 of the locations. Today we went to the Frisco Location at the Train yard for Lunch. Fried Chicken / Salad/ Flat Beans / Mashed Potatoes / Corn / Biscuits / Gravy / Tea , Service , all awesome !

It was our first time back in about 13 yrs. Kindof forgot what to expect when we arrived. We didn't receive a menu but I remembered the concept sort of so we looked up the menu online. Great country kitchen style food! You order your protein and it comes with unlimited sides so bring empty stomachs and don't fill up on biscuits first. Also you can take your biscuits and protein to go in a To-go baggie but nothing else so eat all your sides while tableside! Only downfall was the collective vibe(similar to Cracker Barrel)... in the beginning was a little off but considering where we were it was to be expected. IYKYK. We didn't let it steal our moment. We enjoyed our food, our waitress started to relax a bit and all was well.

Honestly amazing. I will be coming back here as long as my cholesterol will allow me. Never had chicken even close to this level and the corn will haunt my dreams until I can have it again.

this was our first visit. I love fried chicken and fried catfish. we ordered both. first, I want to say the ambiance is really fun. the decorations and vibe is very Texan. this is a place you would bring out of town visitors. the Mgrs were attentive. our server, Elizabeth, could have been better. the chicken was good. Nothing special. I hate to say this but Popeyes is better. The catfish was great. the sides are great. if they add mac n cheese, it would be awesome but I get the clean business model they have. it keeps the budget low and prices affordable. we got there at noon on a Sunday and seated right away but it took a very long time for our food to come out after we finished our salads.

Food and service is always great here! Fried chicken is very homemade and the vegetables and salad is great. Ambiance is very fun and clean

So, so yummy! We came here after several recommendations and were not disappointed. The fried chicken is hot and crispy, but not too oily. The sides aren't the star of the show, but they very well could be. The creamed corn is worth 5 stars alone.

Got chicken meals to go. Always packed well and travels well. Always enough for a second meal.

Visited from AZ for my college-mate's 50th birthday weekend! I fell in love with Babe's! The choices of meats, the unlimited sides, the sweet tea! Oh-My!!!! My friends and I all ordered a different meat to share with the table and EVERYTHING was delicious and well seasoned! I requested some Louisiana hot sauce for the fried catfish, but didn't need it because it seemed to be marinated in it prior to cooking! (Chef's kiss) The one shocker was the plain Jane salad! Who'd have thought it would be so darn good?!?! It's dimly lit inside, but our waitress, Georgia, was a shining star! She took really great care of us! The staff came over to embarrass the birthday gurl with a chicken hat, snow cone cup for the beak, birthday song and dance! I just love restaurants like Babe's, which might get a bad rap from its appearance (for the snobs, not me, I'm a country gurl), but just step inside and deliciousness awaits!!! I am counting down the days until I can return to visit Ol' Cousin Babe's (or Uncle Babe's). *southern slang

Wish they allowed leftovers besides chicken and biscuits to take home. I would still go back as the food is good, but just disappointing on the leftovers.

Dined here over the weekend. Have not been here is a couple of years. The restaurant was nice and clean, as were the restrooms (always a good sign) The food was just ok, we had the fried chicken and the smoked chicken. Both seemed to have an aftertaste to them that we both found unpleasant. The sides were pretty good and we actually had more of them than the main dish. Our waitress was very good and very attentive. She was on top of her game The hostess seated a large party before us and didn't realize we were behind them waiting on a table, think we scared her when she turned around and saw people waiting. It was a bit pricey for two people, almost $45.00 for two 1/2 chickens and two ice teas.

If you want to eat some good fried chicken that can be great for families, this is your place then. Hopefully you have a big appetite and time to sit down. Be warned that they do not have carry out containers but offer bags for leftovers. The sides were good and fresh. This is one of the few places you do not need to season your food!

Just wonderful for the entire family. The food is down home cooking. The best gravy I have ever had.

We visited the Carrollton location in 2019. It was amazing in all ways. The food, service, and atmosphere were amazing. Since then we have had it catered in the office and every time it comes in it is hot, crispy, and delicious. The chicken is of course yummy. The corn is really good. The greens are so tasty. Let's talk about the banana pudding. If you need to take a dessert somewhere go get a pan of the banana pudding. It's almost too perfect to be eaten until you taste it. It is amazing. The tea is good tea. I don't have a bad thing to say about dining in or having it to go! Get you some!

We ordered take out for our Sunday Family dinner and celebration of our Anniversary. The food was neatly packed and was as good as we remembered. Their portions are amazing, so we had plenty of leftovers for lunches this week. We like to eat at Babe's in person, but it's great to know their take-out is excellent too.

Yummy yummy in my tummy My first time here since I moved to Frisco and I can say that I loved the food! The fried chicken was juicy and crispy, and they took the guess work out of the side dishes. I guess if it ain't broke,don't fix it! LOL The entrance to the restaurant is kind of nestled away,but just follow all the people and you'll find it. I came with a big group of 8, and ended up having to wait about 20 minutes to get a seat for our table. It is first come first serve. They have a big patio nestled in their front area, kind of like a courtyard. All of the metal signs are funny to read. It is SUPER casual here and family style, and that's how they serve the food,too. I'd love to come here again. Maybe on a less busy weekday.

Some of the best fried chicken around! Delicious and leaves you wanting more. Can get a bit pricey as sides are ala carte.

Babes is family friendly and always a great place to go. Food is consistently good. Stop by for amazing home style food. You won't leave hungry!

I so wish we had one of these near San Antonio! I've gone a few times when we've been down that way visiting family and omg we dream of this place. And it's always SO much food. I always get the chicken strips with all the sides. Yum! Can't wait to go back.

This is a great place for a family who doesn't want to stare at a menu. Kid friendly atmosphere. Great chicken. Friendly staff. This place gets busy fast! And is regularly packed. Luckily - seating does happen quickly. I also recommend you bring a Designated Driver after you are done eating. You WILL BE stuffed, which could hinder your ability to drive. LOL. Sorry, no pics. I was too hungry to take one.

First time coming here and it was a Sunday at 7:30pm. The entry way was empty, but inside was fairly crowded. Good sign. After being seated we ordered chicken tenders, catfish, and smoked chicken. All three were good. I liked the catfish the most. They also give the sides for free and it's a lot of variety. My favorite was the creamed corn and then the green beans. All are pretty good. Last we tried a chocolate pie. It was like warm pudding, very good.

Fantastic place for dinner, especially with your family. You'll have an option of Fried Chicken, Fried Chicken Tenders, Smoked Chicken, Catfish and Chicken Fried Steak, we've had them all and ALL were outstanding. This is one of our go-to places to eat, they're delicious, reasonably priced and it's similar to sitting at my grandmother's dinner table. That is one of the highest compliments I can give. The service is always outstanding that compliments the food. The ambience is eclectic and FUN! (read the walls) This is a can't-miss place for a meal.
