The servers are amazing and cheerful. Quality of food is always on point. The atmosphere is great- I love the mom & pop feeling. It’s a family style buffet. Our favorite sides are corn and masked potatoes. The main course is all tasty! Our preference is catfish and fried chicken It’s a must if you are ever in the Garland area.

I was pleasantly surprised when I got here. I wasn't sure what to expect, it had a homle atmosphere like you were sitting in your dining room. My server came up and I asked her for a menu and she said that it's basically five things. I opted for the smoked chicken which was delicious and they gave me a fried chicken leg to try. They also gave me bowls of the sides from corn, okra, green beans and potatoes. They also brought me a salad and biscuits to start the meal. Well worth the money which was very reasonable. I highly recommend this place.

Probably one of the worst chicken fried steaks I’ve ever had. Maybe I came on the wrong day. It’s a sad day when the sides were the best part of the meal. The green beans were good. The corn was very sweet. The biscuit were tasty. Their gravy was pretty good, but couldn’t make up for the sub par chicken fried steak. Their fried chicken & tenders were good. I definitely should not have listed to our waitress about the chicken fried steak as she made it sound great but left me disappointed. Service overall was average. Overall I really wanted to like this place, but my entree was such a disappointment.

First time here and it didn't disappoint! In fact, it was awesome! They have 5 choices for meat: fried chicken, chicken tenders, cf steak, smoked chicken, and catfish. All the sides are bottomless and served family-style. The food is delicious and service was great. Definitely want to come back here the next time we're in the area!

I was there with a large group this past Saturday 11/1. First time here so just walking in was quite welcoming. Very organized and ready for large group of around 30. Wait staff was very good at their job. Friendly and helpful is a Plus. Food was tasty and idea of bowls with the sides was a first for me. Food was tasty with a country flare. Overall very enjoyable will be back.

Wife and I had catfish and fried chicken. The order came out in about 7 minutes, delicious. The biscuits salad and the sides were spot on and flavorful. Easily the best fried chicken I’ve ever eaten. Would highly recommend not wearing your belt to this place, you’ll just end up taking it off when you leave anyway.

We ate at this location in December and had a great experience! In traditional Babes fashion, their maximalist Christmas decor just enhanced our dining experience. The iced tea was fresh and flowing with frequent refills. Fried chicken was great - breading not too thick, perfect with honey. Sides were perfect! Service was great! Overall a great night out!

Food was really great! Our sever was super new but extremely attentive and helpful. My only complaint is we couldn't take the sides home we already had at our table, it just felt like we were wasting food as we didnt finish everything. They also had green beans and they straight up tasted burned to all hell lol. I get there are unlimited sides but I do feel it would be okay to take home the ones already on the table and not be able to get more. Otherwise, it truly is a waste. We got fried chicken and it was great. We just got full quickly. Great and timely staff though! Will definitely be back!

Never eaten here before, but adult granddaughter wanted to try it before I moved her to New Mexico. Andrea C. was our Server & after telling her it was our 1st time she did a great job explaining there menu & ordering process. The food spread is like visiting your grandparents with lots of choices. You the customer pick your meat choice, they provide the selection of slides. Picture shows our choice of catfish (for me) smoke chicken (for her). Everything tasted good, granddaughter said little like cafeteria selection. She added more salt/pepper. The building was decorated very interesting, but with a Spock cut out they get 5 stars from me. Food was good, staff friendly, building clean, & prices to be expected for quality/quantity of food provided. Young man at checkout saw my Army cap, ask are you a veteran, then proceeded to give me a military discount.

Look, the food taste good and the employees are always nice. My problem is with the RIDICULOUSLY thin chicken fried steak! My gosh, the price is already outrageous so to beat the steak SO thin is a hard no for us ever eating there again. Too bad since we've been going to Babes for literally 15 years. I understand inflation but this really seems like you are using that excuse to rip off the customer. I hope you consider this and make a change.

Always an excellent time at Babe's. Great service, delicious food. Ambiance always cracks me up with the low lighting, but it's good time with fun, oldies music.

It's a busy place but you just can't beat the "southern" food. CFS and cream corn and mashed potatoes were my favorites; the guests that joined me all had the catfish and I swiped a few pieces of the OUTSTANDING, crispy fried fish! Both lunch and dinner were very busy but the service was outstanding and these servers were quick to serve their guests and it worked out perfectly! I'm going back to visit them this week! WHY? So YUMMY! (the deserts look wonderful, but I'm always too full, way too full to try any desert! LOL)

I love that I can pick up a whole meal of some of the most amazing fried chicken ever. It comes with all the sides and is melt in your mouth good. The only thing is I only like chicken breast and I wish I could just get one piece.

Don't you just LOVE Babes?? We come here once every two to three months, and the food & service are constantly good! The atmosphere is FUN and a little musically loud. You'll enjoy the food and never leave hungry! Bring the family and a hungry belly!

It was my college son's "want" for his last meal before heading to school in Minnesota. We hadn't been all summer but it's the same great food and service as I remembered. Hosts were nice and sat us quickly. Our server was fun and attentive. Her Banana Pudding dessert recommendation was a great choice (even though she doesn't eat bananas). Manager was friendly and always around if we needed anything. Checkout was fast. Great job Babe's Chicken Team. We will back back soon (with or without the kids).

Just a great place to eat. Food is real old home cooking. The rolls are fantastic and the sides all taste like Grandma is in the Kitchen.

Had a 5 star experience at this here Babe's this afternoon! We were seated very quickly with a table of six and were explains to about how the ordering works. Everything is family style, you have 4 different choices of meats and bottomless sides. We ordered 3 different meats and the other three people paid for the veggie plates (essentially a place holder so that people don't come there and eat free). Once we bought into that idea, we were sold. The sides never stopped coming and the food was hot and ready! Our server, Kevin, was a sweet, funny, attentive guy that kept us laughing all afternoon. Will definitely return!!

always love coming to babes but today was def an amazing experience !! we had trinity i. as our server and she was amazing and helpful, very attentive even when she had two large parties. also loved how the managers were checking up on customers but helping out the servers as well, management means a lot in the food industry !! the food is always amazing but def appreciate the help from trinity with our refills. thank you!! cannot wait to come back :))

Fun place to visit. Fun environment. Great service. We were seated almost immediately for a Saturday night. Our server was Cody. The food was delicious. Loved the chicken. Crispy and full of flavor. The home style side were equally good. Absolutely, loved the biscuits and cane syrup and the corn. If you are looking for a fantastic meal check this restaurant out.

Fried Chicken was terrific. The sides were also good. Especially the cream corn and gravy. I used crubside The high school age young man was very efficient and friendly. Didn't get his name but he does go to a charter school here in Garland. Will always go back.

The fried chicken at Babe's is legendary and the chicken fried steak is truly Texan. Try the smoked chicken if you are looking for something different. Service is friendly and the decor feels like family.

We went to this Babes last night. Our server, Joy, was pleasant and the food was good (we had catfish and the usual sides, plus black eyed peas) but there was one person working that made the night less than great. There was a short-haired, white, older lady working - my guess is that she's a manager - and because of her proximity to us from where she was posted up while we were there and due to her loud voice, I heard her complaints about several employees and how she didn't care if/how someone was looking at security footage. As a customer, I didn't care to hear all of that while I was trying to enjoy my meal. Also, shortly after we were seated, they sat another very large party - maybe a youth sports team. Some of the adults/chaperones from that party were seated next to us. That short haired lady wanted to switch out one of their chairs for ours so without asking, she quickly pulled the chair directly next to me to give to them, which knocked my new purse straight to the floor. I was upset. I told her, "Wait. Waiiittt!!!" Without apologizing, she just says, "Well they're a large party and kinda bombarded us." What? What does that have to do with your lack of professionalism? I was not happy. Again, Joy was wonderful and the food was good, but that lady left a bad taste in my mouth and I will more than likely patronize other Babes in the metroplex from now on.

Always fantastic. Super laid back and amazing food. I don't even like creamed corn, but I sure will get seconds of theirs. Great food, friendly service, laid back atmosphere. I love Babes

It was a cute place, very very loud and crowded. I always enjoy that town center. I typically don't eat salty, sugary or high carb foods so it was a bit of a shock to my palate. I'm a great cook and used to quality food. If this is how your grandma cooked, I am sorry for you. The sides were sub par elementary school cafeteria quality - limp salty canned green beans, limp salty corn, salty biscuits, and sugar drenched iceberg lettuce. The only things worth eating were the over salted biscuits, the over salted dry fried chicken and the mashed potatoes. I imagine my cholesterol and insulin levels are through the roof. I'll have to fast for a week to get over that incredibly unhealthy meal. I didn't mind paying the $20 bc it was an evening with friends, but I darn sure will not return. I am sad that people think that's good food. Says a lot about the current state of the American diet. Where is Robert Kennedy when we need him?

I love how they fry their chicken and then give you multiple different sides. My order was ready on time for my pick up!

WARNING! This is not the place to stay skinny or get skinny as the food is just WAY TOO GOOD! I Love this place... It shows on my waist line, but, it is really really good. I've never asked what they use in their batter as then I'd know want to search to find other places that use it and then I'd be TOO big in get in my SUV! I normally say "seriously" after an introduction like above and mention something else, but I was serious! This place is easy to find and lots of parking! Going in, the interior is a country centered décor! Pull out your camera and start clicking! Don't forget to get a photo next to the really quiet customer in the waiting area! Read the signage as it will make you smirk! Eating in or to go are both options. Many of the to-go orders were for really large groups while I was there, (or they were just ordering a bunch for themselves?). I know I said I was ordering for 2 but trust me, I wasn't sharing! The chicken is moist and the batter is to die for! The flavor is just that good! You can not just eat one piece! The salad is always fantastic and it isn't anything really special and mostly iceberg lettuce. It is their house dressing that makes it perfect before or with the chicken! The green beans are really good as well! The rolls are always good and yes, I probably over butter them.

Haven't been here in over 20 years. People are friendly and takes the time to explain the menu. The bathroom very clean as well as the restaurant. This business is great!! The food was hot and favorable. The manger was as very friendly. We will be back!!

This place is amazing from the family style way they serve food to the great staff! Everything was excellent.

The restaurant is a classic, nostalgic Dallas feel. Transports you to eating with family when you're a kid. 8/10 Fixed menus with standard options. You're not coming for Michelin star meals, you're coming for southern comfort classics. They deliver good food for what you're there for. 7/10 Staff and service were friendly and accommodating. 7/10 Recommend if you're looking for Southern comfort food.

If you are ready for some real southern feasting, head over to Babe's Chicken Dinner House! It is definitely not healthy though! For the health conscious consumers, this place is not for you! We took the crew here to experience some delicious southern dishes, and everyone was impressed! The restaurant had so many knickknacks decorating the place. We had a kick out of some of them. We didn't get a menu, but they didn't need one because they only had 5 entrees to choose from. Entrees: Fried chicken Chicken Fried Steak Fried Chicken Tenders Fried Catfish Hickory Smoked Chicken Each entree will come with sides: Salad Mashed potatoes Gravy Cream of corn Green beans Butter beans Biscuits Don't even think about taking home sides if you have leftovers! You will only be given a sad little plastic baggy for your entree and that's it! The food was absolutely delicious!! I ordered the fried chicken and it was so tender and juicy! The mashed potatoes and corn were my favorite sides! The biscuits were so fresh! I loaded it with honey and it was heaven! Parking: plenty of parking available since there is a lot right out front!

When we pulled up I was super skeptical. Usually when I'm in the south I stick to the cities for the most part for food. But this place is SO good and worth a little drive if you're in Dallas proper. We ordered all of the meats with all of the sides to share. The only thing none of us liked was the chicken fried steak (very bland) and the green beans (edible but underwhelming). By far the BEST thing was the smoked chicken. You must order this. Good hospitable service and a great meal. Can't ask for much else. I would definitely come back.

I love this food and always excellent service , My only complaint is not being able to take the rest of my drink and the food on the table home , Has much has we pay for this food we should be able to least take what's left on the table instead of them throwing in the trash when I pay for it anyway !!!!!!!

I ordered the chicken tenders to go on a Sunday afternoon. This restaurant is ALWAYS packed. The tenders meal came with 2 biscuits, 1/2 pint portions of corn, black eyed Peas, Mashed Potatoes, cream Gravy, green beans, a small salad and literally 12 chicken tenders for $20. This meal was supposed to be for one person but it fed 2 of us and we had enough for left overs. It was ALOT of food and all of it was absolutely delicious!! I love this restaurant because it's always consistent, customer service is amazing and food is so so good. Only frustration is parking. It's always busy so parking is always tight lol

Chicken fried steak tasted like it was coated in black eyed peas and fried. It was nothing short of DISGUSTING. Mashed potatoes were the only good thing served. For 19.00 a person this place is not it.

Definitely gotta try! They keep it simple. No menu. Server comes to your table and lets you know what's available and all the sides are sharable and unlimited. Huge fan of the chicken tenders. Good service! Layout of the Arlington location was neat. Interesting on the inside. Go check em out!

It doesn't get any more southern that Babe's Chicken Dinner House in Dallas. They have their Zagat awards proudly displayed so you know they have to be doing something right. When we arrived there was a little bit of a wait. Staff was excellent and very helpful. While you wait you are entertained by everything that is happening in your surroundings. There is music, people dancing and of course the chicken dance. It is an experience. The menu is pretty straight forward. You pick one of their proteins and then they serve you endless sides with it. If you are with a group, even better. Everyone order a different protein and you got a buffet at your table. Some of the mains are better than the others. Nothing was bad. The fried chicken was of course delicious and what I was expecting. The sides are are pretty solid. All together it is a great family meal. I haven't been back in awhile, but I can't wait to check it out next time I am in Dallas!

I love the simplicity of this place. There isn't a menu, your server will ask if you want Smoked or Fried chicken or chicken fried steak. Once you tell them, they will bring fresh baked bread and a bunch of bottomless sides. My buddy and I both got the smoked chicken and it was delicious. I'm guaranteed to go back many times for the smoked chicken alone. The sides were really good, I think the corn was my favorite. I ordered a piece of Chocolate pie to take home. The pie was good, but whatever was on top, I wasn't a big fan of it. I kicked it to the side and fully enjoyed the pie without it. :) If you haven't been, this place is definitely a must try place.

Southern hospitality at its finest here at Babe's! If you are looking for some good southern food like grandma's or your auntie's, this is the place. Whatever protein you decide, you get all the sides. You'll get served a house salad, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, corn, homemade biscuits, and another side dish they may have on special that day. This past visit, we got butter beans, and I was surprised on how good it tasted. Some things that are so simple just taste out of this world. Spices and condiments such as 2 options of honey and hot sauce are available at your table. Service was excellent. Our server was attentive and so sweet, just like my sweet tea! My cousin and I shared the fried catfish and the chicken fried steak. The batter on the chicken fried steak was crisp, flavorful, and THICC! The catfish was so satisfying, especially with the side of tartar sauce provided. I was on cloud 9. Just as everyone says, this is not for anyone who's trying to watch their figure. You'll have to loosen your belts a couple of notches. Babe's is good for any occasion, and you won't be disappointed!

For the many times visiting Babe's that alone should say how delicious it is! I have tried everything they offer except the fish. Fish is just not a favorite protein of mine. Maybe on my next visit I'll give it a try. Anywho let me walk you through the whole experience at Babe's and prepare you. You will be ask what entree you'll like. Here are your options: fried chicken, smoked chicken, chicken fried steak, fried chicken tenders, or fried fish. Note: if you order fried or smoked chicken you will get 4 pieces. While you wait for your entree they will bring out their house salad and the magical buttermilk biscuits! Omg those biscuits are delicious add some butter and honey...chefs kiss! When your entree is delivered so will your vegetables. Their vegetables are mashed potatoes, green beans, grandma's corn, and the vegetable of the day (either pinto beans or black eye peas and both are delicious!) The vegetables are all you can eat. Note: if you have food leftover you will only be able to take your chicken/fish, not the vegetables. So eat up all your veggies first .

Came here on a Saturday evening for dinner, at 6pm it was packed! We had about a 30 minute wait but it wasn't bad. Our server was Casey, he was attentive and kept us well fed. Love the simple menu and all the sides you get. We usually frequent the Carrollton location so it was nice to try out a different location. It's a large place with lots of seating, good for big groups or parties.

Thought I would try their smoked chicken. Unfortunately, it was dry and tough. I only ate one piece. I am mostly disappointed in myself -- for not asking the waitress to take it back. When checking out the cashier asked me if everything was to my satisfaction, and I told her that my smoked chicken was really dry and basically inedible and she just smiled and giggled, as she took my $80.00 payment for three meals -- and that was it. For $18.99 a dinner I expect better. There are too many other good restaurants in Dallas, so next time we will go elsewhere.

What is there not to like about Babe's? It's good food that is consistent. The biscuits and honey are my absolute favorite. A great option for a family meal and the portion sizes always ensure there are leftovers for the next day.

I have being to Babe's since the original opened in Roanoke in 1993. They are all great! This is one great, too. My favorite is the Chicken Tenders and the Chicken Fried Steak. Come check it out!

My kid and partner love this place but I could pass. It's good for big crowds but I found everything to taste too salty, produced, and canned/frozen. I like more homemade from scratch kind of food like this and Babes Garland doesn't fit the bill. Friendly staff. Clean.

Still the best place to go for southern comfort food. Fried, Smoked, or Tenders Chicken, Ribs, Chicken Fried Steak, Fried Catfish, and all you can eat Vegetables. Southern hospitality along with great atmosphere.

You won't leave hungry. We have eaten at the Babe's in Fort Worth and here many times. We also get takeout from this location, especially when a lot of family is coming over. The menu is limited (Chicken, Chicken, Chicken and Chicken fried steak) but hea . . . it's called Babe's Chicken house :-). Everything is excellent. They KNOW how to fry chicken but the smoked chicken is tender and juicy - not at all dried out like most smoked chicken. Creamed corn is to die for. Don't bother ordering desert, just put some of the molasses on their outstanding biscuits and you're all set!

If you love great fried chicken, this is the place to go. But, oddly enough, I personally think the chicken fried steak are probably better! But whichever one you choose, I'm sure you'll be well satisfied. Also one of the great things about this place are unlimited sides you can get while there. You can't take any home in a doggy bag, but as you're at the table you can have as much as you want. Also, the atmosphere is a bit quirky, but it's fun. Loads of funny signs, staff dancing the hokey-pokey with children, and singing happy birthday while wearing a chicken hat. Overall a great place to get some good ole' southern food.

If Jesus opened a restaurant he would steal all of Babe's recipes. Perfection just like Maw Maw used to cook.

The best, always. For the price and the amount of food you get, it's the best bang for your buck. I love the chicken tenders - they say it's 7 tenders but I've always been served more. Not pictured is the salad, which is unique and delicious. Don't forget it's BYOB. I do recommend coming here with 2+ people.

When we want fried chicken we go to Babe's, until now. This is second time in a row that the chicken was very greasy. On our last visit it was also tough. Where do you get tough chicken, China? Service was good and ambiance is same Babe's.

This is a staple in our home. Some locations have a unique offering and can really blow You away with their biscuits. Servers are always on point with refills and quickly produced items you need. The integrated dance routines make my son feel special. The dances also don't take away from their service and they are all into participating- no one seems angry or put out to do the Hokey Pokey which would ruin a small child's involvement if they weren't engaged with them. I have never had a bad meal at Babes! So good!

First off, Every entree is good. The side are home cooked quality. The biscuits are amazing. The bad (recently) is the economy must be hitting them. They have become stingy on their DELICIOUS but simple salad. Pic of what we got with 4 entrees.

Stopped in spur of the moment and we were not disappointed. Not too many sides although the fries are on point. Very friendly staff and highly recommend. We have back more than once.
