Yeoman of the Guard Drink Port After State Parliament Gunpowder Hunt | Eater London

"A quintessentially archaic parliamentary chamber where the State Opening highlights deeply ceremonial — and sometimes absurd — traditions: officers begin proceedings by combing the building’s cellars for explosives, a ritual rooted in Guy Fawkes’s 414-year-old Gunpowder Plot. The legislature’s authority is embodied by a five-foot silver ceremonial mace (once seized by a protesting MP, requiring a sword-wielding official to restrain him), and the Yeoman of the Guard who perform the historical security checks are rewarded with half a glass of port — a comically tiny, yet fitting, gesture that sums up the mix of solemnity, pageantry and theatricality that defines the place." - James Hansen

As a tea connoisseur, I LOVED my experience at Babe's Tea Room! We were able to try 7 or 8 teas in our allotted time and they were all delicious (I wish I kept track of my favorites but I remember one being referred to as the "Champagne of tea," that was my top). The food was excellent! Loved the finger sandwiches and enjoyed the sweets at home since I was too full to finish them at the restaurant. I can't wait to visit again!

Very cute place with great vibes and a big tea selection. However, the food options are pretty limited. The service was disappointing — when I asked for recommendations, the server wasn’t able to offer any. Ordered BEA sandwich, it was dry. Nice spot for a quick tea stop, but the lack of helpful service was a turnoff.

A cute place to enjoy tea and delicious goodies! The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. My friends and I went for an afternoon tea and were overwhelmed by the various tea options on the menu-- it all looked good! My friends and I chose the ballerina white tea, strawberry tea, and blueberry tea. The teas were delicious but out of the 3, the strawberry tea was our personal favorite. We also got to enjoy various desserts and tea sandwiches and they were delicious! Overall, the experience itself was amazing and would definitely comeback for a get together with friends or just for the heck of it!

Us ladies made a reservation for tea time. The package was priced per person, and included a tower of tea time treats and whatever tea you would like. They were very accommodating to my dairy allergy, making a separate tower just for me💕. Each tower had sandwiches and savory tarts on the bottom 2 tiers, scones and biscuits on the third and desserts on top. We all loved this experience so much!!!

one of my favorite experiences when visiting denver - the selection of teas is diverse and plentiful, the vibes joyful and vivacious, and wait staff attentive and relatable! you can opt in for the $60 1.5 hour tea service to try as many teas as you wish complete with a tower of scones, desserts and finger sandwiches. you can also order specialty teas to go, buy tea by the ounce to brew yourself (butterscotch, blue sunshine, blueberry, strawberry, jasmine leaves are some of my favorites right now) or order items a la carte ($7 pot of tea, refillable as many times as you want with new hot water) which ive opted for lately. the space is quaint and lovely, a little tight, but adorned with pink, flowers, and a few pillows for comfort. happy hour starts at 4pm with a few additional food selections. reserve a table online through opentable for guaranteed seating. options for both indoor and outdoor seating are available. parking is behind the building, with an option for validated parking (wait until you get in the restaurant to sign up for your parking with their qr code for 1.5 hours free). a huge, heartfelt thank you to babes tea room for existing and another to caleb for providing such a lovely experience on my latest visit!

My daughter wanted afternoon tea for her birthday and was curious about Babe’s. We went with her sister today and it was really amazing- the finger sandwiches and pastries were soooo good, and got to try several teas. A little pricey on the weekend but worth the splurge. We recommend!

First class all the way. The restaurant is quaint, simply decorated but modern and with a fresh feel. Everything was professionally displayed - you know you eat with your eyes first. Finger sandwiches, macarons, 2 different scones and petite fours were all perfect. I’d come back for that turkey with garlic aioli all by itself. And of course I have to mention the teas - they have a wide selection from white to oolong to black plus a few blends. You can try as many as you wish. I think we tried 7 different ones. I purchased the jasmine pouchong green tea to take home. Went with my two adult daughters. We had the best time eating and sipping. Kiki was our server - prompt, polite, knowledgeable plus a great sense of humor. We will be back.

We had a nice experience for afternoon tea. There is a regular menu to order from as well. They also have coffee/espresso drinks. The traditional tea service is $60 per person which includes unlimited tea from a large selection and a tower of sandwiches, biscuits and desserts. We didn’t get to try the regular menu this time but the plates we saw coming out looked very good!
