Babesa Village Restaurant is located in Babesa Expressway, opposite to Noryang furniture house. It's gives the unique looks to the visitors on arrival. In fact people ask always "Whats that house over there!" The only old, dark building, still with the wooden roof, strong mud house left upright in between the crowded concrete buildings in Thimphu is this authentic restaurant, The Village Restaurant! The old museum kinds of restaurants is really worth visiting! The food is delicious and served in wooden bowl in a very traditional Bhutanese style. Dapa is a traditional wooden plate/bowl in Bhutan which is made of rare species of Maples and Larch from the Himalayas. Having food in such kind of plates itself is a kind of experience while in Bhutan. Ara, the Bhutanese sake and Suja, the butter Tea is served beautifully as a welcome drinks here. Food is delicious, but in Bhutan dessert is not severed, if you try some authentic meals. Try to experience once, you will like it.

It seems that after Deepika Padukone’s visit, this place has become extremely overhyped, and it’s certainly not worth the high prices they charge. The Datshi is nothing special—just like any other regular place outside. Their chicken curry, however, was terrible. It was cooked with the skin on, and most of the pieces were just bones. They charge exorbitant prices for a set menu, offering the same dishes you can easily find elsewhere for much lower prices. This is not some picturesque farm where you dine; it’s just a regular restaurant with old, traditionally styled interiors and serving bowls. It feels more like a place designed to squeeze money from tourists. You can easily skip this place without missing anything significant. If you want good Datshi, try Mountain Café instead.

Tourists need to only take a set menu the restaurant does not allow allacart for tourists. The food is very bad n does not taste good. Over rated place. You can give it a skip n try better restaurants in Thimphu main town.
