Babka Bailout

Purchased babkas in person for the first time. Unfortunately my cinnamon babka wasn’t cooked thoroughly through. Lots of undercooked pieces throughout. Still gave 5 stars for the lovely young lady who served me and also the flavor is sweet and delicious. Google recommended I stick it in the oven for 10-20 min at 350 degrees to cook it through.but it didn’t work. $7/$13 spent is wasted

Hands down the best babkas I’ve ever had. Both classic and unique flavors that consistently have incredible quality. Great gifts especially to yourself!

Haven’t been to the brick and mortar location but always pick up a treat from the Riverview Fisk farmers market when I’m there - spinach and cheese burekas are always a must, but tried the Nutella rugelach this time and they were truly outstanding!

The best babka I have ever had! All of their baked goods are delicious, not just the babka. You can order the babkas online, they also go to the local farmers markets in Jersey City.

I ordered a dark chocolate babka and apricot rugelach - and they added a mini Nutella oreo babka! I planned to share these with two very good friends. They might not get any. Thank you thank you thank you

We just saw Babka Bailout as a new vendor at the River View Farmers Market. We bought the picnic pack of pita with beet salad, tahini, babganosh, and beet salad. Each and every item was delicious!! We will definitely seek them out for more.

I live in the midwest, but have family on the East Coast who sent me a variety pack of babka from Babka Bailout...This babka changed the game. They have such fun and creative flavors (ube nutella oreo & peanut butter cup are our favorites), and the texture is perfect. I will never be without these - I order a pack of minis and they freeze perfectly. Couldn't recommend this babka more!

Ordered several babkas for Rosh Hashana dinner and they were a huge hit! Not to mention the owner was so kind and accommodating when I picked up at their storefront location. Looking forward to being the hit of Thanksgiving tomorrow when I show up with the Nutella Ganache and Cinnamon Sugar Pull Apart. Now if I can just make it til then without sneaking a bite!

WOW!!! I ordered two Babka's to be shipped from New Jersey to Los Angeles, CA and boy was it worth it!! I ordered the Dubai Chocolate (ChrisCaresnone on Instagram limited edition) & the Nutella & Chocolate Ganache. They were both out of this world delicious! Fresh! Tasty! Although $40 for the Dubai Chocolate is a bit pricey- it lived up to the hype. They have such a fun selection of flavors. Shipping was free if it's over $65. Otherwise it's only $10 for shipping. It arrived in just 4 days from placing the order. I would definitely order these baked goodies again!

A sucker for cute signage, creative desserts, and holiday markets, I was doomed to fall for Babka Bailout from the get go. They were at the Union Square, Bryant Park, and the Herald Square holiday markets this year. Their mini loaves are pretty pricey at $15, but I'm glad I tried them for a holiday splurge. The babkas are also super rich so the small one fits the bill. It actually made me do the happy dance on first warm ooey gooey bite :D Although the babka tastes pretty good at room temperature, its full potential of buttery, melty deliciousness is unlocked after zapping a slice in the microwave for 20 seconds. The bread part becomes super soft. I picked a fun flavor (Reese's peanut butter chocolate), and each bite had that same creamy, sweet, and slightly gritty (in a good way) Reese's cup filling with chocolatey goodness. A little messy to eat but I'm not complaining~ Service was a bit lacking at the booth but I'm here for the food and the cuteness... and it's probably hard to be cheery at 15 F all day in the cold! Definitely worth trying once, I'm excited to try another fun flavor in the future :)

Had a babka pop from babka bailout at Bryant Park winter market, and no joke, it might be the best thing I've ever eaten. The babka was soft and chewy and packed with flavor - and warmed up it just melted in the mouth. I love babka to begin with, but wow this was absolutely incredible. The babka pop was smores flavor, but you can't go wrong with any flavors because these were amazing!

I have tried several items from Babka Bailout at this point and have always been impressed with how flavorful everything was. The Dark Chocolate Babka and the Flourless Chocolate Cake were both rich and heavenly! They also have a wide variety of creative sweet babkas, like one infused with Reese's Pieces, and savory ones, such as the version with black truffles. As others have mentioned, the shop's hours were a bit inconsistent, but it was easy to coordinate a pick-up time with the owner. I would definitely recommend giving Babka Bailout a shot!

Always on the quest to try different bakeries & sweets, I came across Babka Bailout via an Instagram Giveaway several months ago. When I googled their address, I was surprised to see how close they are to my apartment in Hoboken. Their shop is located in the heights and they ship nationwide. I corresponded with the shop directly since I needed to understand the shipping timeframes given I needed the babkas for a party a few days later. The owner was very helpful and I was able to place my order Friday and have it ubered to my apartment in Hoboken on Monday. I ordered 4 different flavors. Sadly, on the day of delivery, they let me know they were all out of the cereal flavor (even though I had advance ordered) and she swapped it for Nutella oreo instead, and even threw in 2 extra babkas at no charge! That was very generous of them to do, especially during the busy holiday season. From the flavors I tried, I really enjoyed the Nutella Oreo, the Ube Nutella Oreo, and the chocolate ganache covered Nutella. The savory zhater feta mozzarella was a big hit amongst the crowd. The Dulce de Leche was the most mild flavor of the ones I tried. I haven't dug into the truffle burrata one yet but I imagine it will be delightful! I like that this shop has unique flavors - much different than the flavors you see at Breads Bakery which is more traditional. I would definitely order from here again - afterall I still have to try the cereal milk flavor.

I live in Maryland. I ordered the Vegan Chocolate babka and the mini variety package. I received my order two days later. They even packed a mini babka for your taste and review. The babkas came in very fresh. I did not try the Vegan Chocolate babka. I did try one of the variety mini ones. I had the Ube Chocolate babka. I have never had Ube before. Wow! I loved it I also tried the Cereal milk babka one; it's not my cup of tea. I think kids would love that one. I am also thrilled Babka Bailout is now kosher.

Great local bakery in The Heights section of Jersey City specializing in babkas. They have a walk-up window for retail customers and also fill wholesale orders. We had both an apple and a Nutella babka, both were excellent. There are also other baked items, like hamantaschen, available as well. the staff is lovely and the price is right for such quality.

Was so excited to see them in Bryant Park during the holidays. Bought 3 mini loaves for a total of $35.... Very disappointed. Hardly any cheese or blueberry in the blueberry loaf, the italian herb one had an odd taste, cant put my finger on it . The nutella was the only one that was tasteful but is still a hard pass at that price. Disappointed to say the least

Just stopped in on this place at their pop up kiosk at the union square holiday market!!, I got the dark chocolate babka which is awesome!. I have a slice of it every morning with my breakfast I absolutely love it!!. Can't wait to Try the other flavors!.

I found all the different flavors super interesting! So we got the nutella oreo (so excited for this one) and splurged on the truffle burrata. The truffle burrata smelled heavenly and tasted just as amazing. It was so soft and the right amount of truffle and burrata, but be prepared to spend $40 for a loaf that may not even fill the container packaging. We didn't notice it upon purchasing so we were a bit disappointed because it looked like an entire slice was missing before we even opened it. The nutella oreo was good, but I didn't taste much nutella unfortunately. Still worth checking out, but I think breads bakery is still the winner for babkas.

I was super excited to get these babkas from the Winter Village in Bryant Park. So I bought 3 babkas. Dark chocolate, cinnamon and the zaatar cheese one. Unfortunately all 3 were not baked properly and I had to bake them myself at home. What a waste of money and time. Look for other great babkas in town or you can never go wrong with the ones from Trader Joes!

I had some delicious Babka at a Polish bakery in the city and was in the mood for some. Instead of driving into NYC, I gave this place a try and was left underwhelmed. Overpriced and not much flavor to it. I had the Nutella and just wasn't impressed. Service was what it was. A bit disappointed I have to travel to the city to fulfill my craving.

So, had the same experience as another reviewer...I really don't think this place is open on weekends. Showed up around noon and everything was completely dark and locked up. Really disappointed. The hours listed on the website do not seem to be accurate. Don't get me wrong, the product is good - the storefront not so much. Just go to Cangiano's or another stockist instead.

I've had a lot of babkas from a lot of bakeries over the years, but Babka Bailout just makes an exceptionally good babka. Perfect texture and the taste (at least for the chocolate babka that I tried) was AMAZING! Great addition to the neighborhood!!!

Just stopped by the shop in JC and it's closed. Website says open Sat-Sun 9am-3pm but no one's there and it's 11am. No sign or telephone number on storefront. Please update info on website. Very disappointing because we were really craving some babka today.

looks good, takes ok, but feels a little overpriced for some sweet bread
