Babula Bar 1937

We came here thanks to a recommendation from a work collegue, and we were not prepared for the experience. First of - you look at the menu and try to find an excuse to not just say "YES" when the staff comes. We battled that temptation of just ordering everything, the waitress was extremely knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to landing on the options. And then... The starters flew in. One better than the other. Everything just became a blur of bliss. The presentation is incredible, preparation - impeccable, ingredients - superb and the flavors just come rushing in. The things we ordered were organized into a journey - each bite an experience building on the previous one. Yes, it is a tad on the pricey side, and yet it's A STEAL. An absolute must. The last thing (Taco) was was a standout among the star lineup - delicious and surprising. I'm happy this was the last restaurant we went to before leaving, because it felt like everything we'd have afterwards would just be a disappointment.

What a delightful and unexpected find. We had the luxury tasting menu. Prawns tartare were stand out fantastic, but every dish was fabulous theatre. Spectacular cocktails. All the staff were engaging and enthusiastic for the service they offer. Great atmosphere and the relaxed environment had us chatting with other diners. A great place for a special and memorable meal.

I discovered this wonderful bar by chance and ended up going three times during a one week stay in Eixample. The bar has a cosy atmosphere with dark green, brown and blue colors. It is well lit and literally draws you in to try the skillfully made cocktails and try some of the very tasty food - small plates to share or plates the size of a main course. Don’t miss out on the desserts! I recommend d the cheese cake with crema catalana. The staff works together in a professional and playful way. It is a pleasure to watch them create drinking and eating experiences that stick! I will definitely be back next time in Barcelona!

We visited Babula Bar for our dinner experience. It was one of the best choices to try authentic Spanish cuisine and have an inforgettable experience. I strongly recommend to make a reservation beforehand, as place is quite popular and you may find hard to see free seat. They offer good selection of Tapas, strongly recommended shrimps and salmon ones. Also Sea Bass Anti Seviche was really delicious. As a finish line, I tried Crema Catalana Cheesecake, which is really worth trying. Staff was very attentive, helpful and lovely. Definitely a place, which will live in your heart.

Shout-out to our host of the evening, Laia, who was incredibly attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. The food was tasty and the overall experience was above average. However, we did feel that the dishes are priced on the higher end. We ordered four tapas and two glasses of white wine each for the two of us, and the total came to €95. If the portions were slightly larger or the prices reduced by around 8%, guests would likely leave feeling even more satisfied. Just our two cents!

In Barcelona, Babula (бабуля) is one of the coolest places we’ve been to in months — amazing atmosphere, great cocktails, and exceptional food. The beef tartare was absolutely incredible, and the sea bass anti-ceviche was the highlight. Everything felt high-quality and intentional, but still relaxed and fun. The story behind the name makes it even more special: the owner has some Russian roots and named the place after his grandmother, who raised him and whom he deeply loves. “Babula / бабуля” is a warm, affectionate word for “grandma” — and the restaurant genuinely feels like a tribute to that kind of love.

One of the best bars I've ever been to in my entire life! The bartender--or should I say the mixologist--really knew his craft. He genuinely enjoyed making different drinks for us, and we enjoyed every single one! The food was lick-the-plate good, and the service was amazing. If I ever go back to Barcelona, this will be the first place I visit!

We had the most amazing time at Babula last night. As an American with a severe shellfish allergy it can be quite daunting to try new things when traveling because of the fear of cross contamination. No worries at Babula. The manager took my allergy very seriously and communicated it to the chef, which made me feel so relaxed knowing I didn't have to worry. We had a reservation and were seated outside on their terrace on a beautiful evening. From the time we were seated we had incredible service and food. Their cocktail list is impressive as well as their wine selection BUT oh the food was the star of the evening. Beef Tartare, burrata, cannelloni, charcuterie was all amazing. Watching the tartare being prepared table side was a treat. We finished the meal with mouthwatering cheesecake. The atmosphere was very intimate and romantic and it was the perfect ending to our time in Barcelona. The manager even hailed us a cab when we finished our meal. Service was impeccable we will be back on our next trip. Thanks to the restaurant for making an amazing memory for us.

Loved so many things about this spot! Walking in felt like you were walking into a trendy, jungle restaurant. Lots of fun food options and the drinks were delicious! Would recommend!!

Okay I looked this place up the night before and I was so excited to try it out!!! But I was basically evaded from the premises for arriving before the opening hours. Now to let you all know. The opening hours are from the afternoon. 1 pm- 3 AM. That's 13:00- 3:00. I arrived at noon with the manager giving me a look that told me I needed a reality check, so I took a walk around until 12:50. When I headed back at 12:50, everything was set up already, so I asked if I could sit and wait until they opened. To this the manager( with lit cigarette in hand) replied " no we are closed. Go away. " Fine then.

Not a bad place to have some tapas and some drinks. The inside is very chic shabby . We tried various tapas, and I have to say the eggplant was my favorite as well as the typical tapa plate of Patatas bravas . They do take reservations or walk-ins . The prices were reasonable. Some of the tapas could've been a little bit better but overall, it was a decent experience.

Beautiful restaurant near Casa Batlló. We stumbled upon this looking for a restaurant before an event and were able to walk in though reservations are encouraged. All of the staff were warm and helpful. Noise level was low & ambience was perfect. All of the dishes we ordered were delicious & this was our favorite meal in Barcelona. Gluten free friendly as well!

Babula rocked my world. My meal was one of the most memorable of this trip to Spain. The service was excellent, the outdoor patio was charming and my scallops were fantastic. I would definitely eat here again.

Service was very attentive and the ambiance is beautiful. One of the best ceviche I've ever had. The scallops were amazing as well. Everything was delicious and I'll definitely return the next time I visit Barcelona!

Amazing Tapas. All food was perfect and innovative. If you want to eat Tapas lime the locals, I would highly recommend this place. The oxtail melts in your mouth.

This place is a gem! We got here and went straight to the bar and had exceptional service all night long. We had several drinks here and each one was amazing! I had the porn star, aviation and espresso martini and my husband had the Paloma, Dr. pepper and the old but new. These drinks are carefully crafted to perfection and put together by talented bartenders. The staff was so friendly and the ambiance is stunning in this place! I'd definitely check it out!

LOVED this place! I can't believe it was so great. We got off the plane, checked into our hotel and were hungry. I just wanted something relatively close to our hotel since I was tired and hungry. A quick yelp search led me to Babula - yes, there's only 3 reviews, but yelp isn't really great for Europe. But it was open and a lot of places were not open on a Monday. We walked in and were told that we could sit at the bar since we didn't have a reservation. The bar was dimly lit and I wish there was more light around the area, but it was still cool. We also got to watch them make a bunch of pretty cool drinks so it was entertaining. Food was excellent - probably my favorite restaurant in Barcelona. The staff were all super kind and warm, and they were english friendly (we do speak some Spanish). We left pretty full and happy!

We found Babula on a YouTube search before leaving California. This authentic tapas restaurant is named the endearing name of the owner's grandmother. The tapas and cocktails are so great and the staff are friendly. We loved this cozy spot.

This is a gem and must visit in Barcelona. The food is amazing (very creative and tasty) and drinks are even better. Service is above and beyond. We went twice and would have gone back even more if our stay was longer. Definitely order whatever the servers/bartenders recommend. We were also given complimentary truffle nachos with our drinks and a lemon digestif. The Korean-style taco is especially delicious. We sls tried the passion fruit mousse dessert and it was fabulous. Tip: sit at the bar to witness the amazing talent of the bartenders firsthand. And make a reservation because it gets busy!

Went a while ago and had a good experience overall. I found the food to be slightly overpriced but delicious. The bravas sauce was outstanding and a bit spicy, sweet and smoky, and the tartare and scallops were delicious. The only issue I had was the service -- they charged us for an extra scallop dish and then started to argue with us when we informed them of the mistake. It left a sour note on an otherwise good meal.

Not enough words can describe how awesome this place is. The "egg" desert made with chocolate and passion fruit won us over. The house cocktails are extremely savory and amazing. We tried every drink on the house cocktails menu, specially loved the Sr. Mendoza, a old fashioned made with tequila! The food is the right proportion and finger looking good. Definitely one of the top places to eat at in Barcelona

Great, romantic atmosphere. Came in without a reservation. Host sat us by the bookshelf. Very pretty waitresses and handsome cooks (according to my wife). Food was excellent - drinks were good too. Some things are a tad overpriced - two pieces of pork chops for 25 Euros - wasn't worth it. Come for the atmosphere.
