I’m pretty sure the menu has changed from the first time I came here with some women’s networking group, and I’m so glad we checked it out again because I’m a fan! The atmosphere is really nice. It’s decorated super cute inside, but also it’s spacious enough even though it was quite packed with customers. Great sign. My friend and I went for lunch mid week and I had chow fun and she had tom yum soup noodles. Both had generous portions and was tasty! Definitely enough to take home. I think it might be better for a group so you can eat family style and try a lot of dishes. The warm tea they serve is really delicious and the hot sauce has the perfect kick!

We visited on a Saturday for lunch, and the restaurant was quite packed. The wait time was about 15 minutes, which wasn't too bad. The interior is beautifully decorated, and the waitstaff is friendly and efficient. We ordered the chopped green beans, milk tea, baked pork chop rice, and the signature beef brisket in rice cube. All the dishes were delicious. We will definitely come back again.

Checking out the spot for the first time as it was recommended to me. Didn’t have to wait a long time to get seated on a Sunday during peak lunch hour (for three people and a baby). Ordered the Hainanese chicken, Beef Stew, and Baked Fish Fillet with Rice and really enjoyed all three dishes. Hainanese chicken was tasty & “crispy” (not fried but well textured), the Beef brisket came very quickly and was very well flavored, and the baked fish fillet was a pleasant surprise and great for sharing. If I had to nitpick, I wish the beef was a little warmer (it felt like they had a big batch prepared) and that the scallion sauce for the chicken was more flavorful. We also got drinks and they were all enjoyable. The strawberry and mango milks were especially a hit! Would definitely come again.

The portion of beef was generous and tender. The 海南雞 was also a standout. The chicken was incredibly moist and flavorful, and it came with a fragrant rice that complemented it perfectly. Newer hk style cafe restaurant in San leandro. They did some Reno so it feel pretty good sitting inside and chilling, flavours was good on point and decent pricing for the size portion. Servers are little lagging and some not the friendliest. Over all would come back cause the flavour were good, no coffee available, only teas. We had the eel stone rice that was good a lot of ingredients which we love , and the stone was actually nice and hot. We had their pickled veggies and fish that was flavourful. And the rice cube curry that was little disappointing the rice cube bowl was over friend and the chicken wasnt fresh tasting.

So far enjoying the food here a lot. From the baked spaghetti or rice dishes, wonton soup, butter melon dishes, to their authentic HK milk tea. Make sure to come early (before 11:45) during the weekend, or be prepared to wait for a table. The restaurant gets very busy from 11:45am onwards and not only it is a wait for a table, but also getting the waiter/waitress attention to order and even to pay the bill. So plan accordingly. The baked dishes and the sizzling plates takes 15-30 minutes extra so if you are planning to have these, order immediately when you’re seated, or go early so they are ready when you expect to have your meal.

this new Hong Kong style Café has honestly been my family's go to since they opened whether it's for lunch, dinner, or late night snacks/desserts. their service is quick and most importantly their food options are amazing. My favorite would be the hainanese chicken rice plate!! the ambience is also very cute and gives off modern fairytale vibes - their Hong Kong style dessert menu is also super delicious and mango sago would be my go to. something I appreciate on top of everything is most of what I've tried have been pretty flavorful and delicious so you can't really go wrong. I think it's more of a preference on your flavor profiles. 10/10 would recommend tips: - perfect for family, kids, dates, and friends - lots of parking available within the plaza - good for lunch and dinner - lots of options and has vegetarian friendly options

This place has been in San Leandro for a year now and we finally had the chance to try it! It's on the side of the plaza and I had never noticed this was its location. Anywho we came on christmas eve eve for lunch and it was a busy parking lot with nearly every seat filled in this restaurant. The interior is modern and comfortable, perfect for taking pictures as they have a classic neon lights for their restaurant name, two decorative trees in the center along with other nice pieces. We were intrigued by the menu and ordered the beef brisket with crispy noodles and egg, a char siu with eggs and rice, crispy pork chop, fried squid, baked rice with eel and shrimp and a milk tea. Each dish punched above their weight and impressed. Everything was quite tender and made to perfection. The food comes out immediately. Service can be a wait as there were only two servers in a full restaurant so it took a long time to flag someone for the bill and another lengthy wait for someone to charge the card. All in all, a valuable addition to the local food places in San Leandro!

Baby Cafe is located in the Marina Faire plaza. They are off to the side of this pretty busy plaza - usually more busy here on the weekends. It was not that busy when we stopped by, but it seemed like service was a bit slow. I came for the Ice Baby Milk Tea, but they were out, so I opted for a regular Hong Kong Style Milk Tea instead and it was a tiny cup. I was looking for a macaroni soup like other HK cafes have, but I did not see it on their menu. I decided to get either the Hai Nan Chicken Rice or Ma Po Tofu and ended up getting the chicken rice plate. The chicken was fresh, but the pieces were very lean with not much meat to it. My bf opted for the Thai Style Fried Rice Noodle and he thought it was okay, but he was not that impressed.

This spot gives me a more modern HK style cafe vibes with the aesthetic interior, makes you feel like you're dining in a garden. Everything we ordered was pretty spot on, the only down side was that they ran out of the Baby Cafe Iced Milk Tea, with the Baby shaped ice stacked on top! Anyways, I definitely recommend y'all stopby and try them out while you're in the area.

Came again on new years eve and the place was packed. Got the baked pork chop over spaghetti which was piping hot even ten minutes after starting it. Creamy sauce and 3 juicy boneless pork chops. First time trying the Crispy rice cube with beef stew. Different texture with the crispy rice, but tasty after getting used to it, and meat was juicy and tender. Friendly service and complementary hot tea. Beautiful decor and where else can you go eat and see 2 trees inside?!

Great HK food. Great HK service. Baby cafe has been a go to restaurant for the last year for family gatherings and it is still going strong. The tables are packed during meal hours and very relaxed with a few tables off-hours and late night. My go to has been the baked pork chop over spaghetti in red sauce and cheese (I would love to hear the origination story of this dish if anyone has it). A fried egg comes customary with the dish so there's no more side ordering a fried egg and taking a 50/50 chance if it shows up like at other unmentioned restaurants.Other house favorites include the bibimbap and fried tofu. The newer meat rice cubes on the menu are no joke--I say get one to share--either the curry chicken or stewed beef are winners.

San Leandro marina is popping ! They have added baby cafe a popular chain of hung Kong cafe style food! Definitely get the hainan chicken, and salted fish fried rice. Milk tea is always delicious as well. Their drink dessert menu also made it hard to choose just one drink

Baby Cafe is located on the side back corner of the plaza. A friend of ours recommended this place and it didn't disappoint. Plenty of parking. The interior is nice and simple. The do have their brand merchandise to buy. I think. LOL. They have two unisex restrooms. The service is nice, attentive, and friendly. Complimentary hot tea. We came a bit early, so they only had a breakfast menu from 8am - 11am. Afterwards, they have their lunch/dinner menu. But, after waiting 15 minutes, they said we could order on their other menu. Fried Pork Chop (4/5) - pork loin breaded with panko and deep fried to a crispy golden brown served with kewpie mayo. Egg Puffs (3/5) - sweetened egg batter. It was ok. Beef Chow Fun (4/5) - flavored well. Hai Nam Chicken (whole, 4.5/5) - tender, and mostly deboned except for the wings. The ginger sauce was delicious. We'll be back. Support your local business.

Stopped by Baby Cafe for lunch, located on the side of New Sang Chong Market with plenty of parking. The interior is cute with a nice touch of greenery. The service was quick with friendly staff. We tried the beef stew rice cube, but it came out cold and the rice was stale. It was not very appetizing. You could also tell they fried it in old oil, which was disappointing. The baked pork chop over rice with an egg on top was solid. Very standard dish but overall tasty and satisfying. This is your typical Hong Kong-style cafe food.

We had the following: Beef Stew in Crispy Rice Bowl - very tender cubes of beef served with gravy in a square crispy rice bowl. The rice bowl retained its crunchiness throughout the whole meal and even as leftovers at home. The cubes of beef were very flavorful, tasty and plentiful. Baked Pork Chops with Curry Sauce - breaded pork chops, fried and then baked on a bed of fried rice with curry sauce on top. Served with an over easy egg. Spicy and mildly hot curry sauce gives this dish a distinct taste. Two generously portioned breaded and fried tender pork chops will give any pork katsu a run for their money. The fried rice rounded this dish to perfection. Service was prompt and attentive. Can't miss restaurant and we will definitely be back!

This spot is in the plaza with a supermarket and a dim sum spot so while there is a lot of parking spaces, at certain times of the day, it can get hard to find parking or you'll have to park on the other side of the lot where there's less cars. The ambiance of the restaurant is really warm and welcoming. The tables and chairs all clean and modern. As soon as we sat down, someone came and gave us tea and menus to look at. The food was good with a decent portion size. Salt and pepper tofu was ok. They didn't fry it to the crispyness that I like but that's ok, I like the basil they add to it. It tasted like popcorn chicken but with tofu. Careful, it's hot. Their shrimp ho fun with scrambled eggs was saucy but slightly lacking in flavor. I added a lot of hot sauce to mine. The hot sauce they had on the table was good on everything. The winner of the dinner was their beef stew and crispy noodles. The noodles was so crispy that when you break into it, pieces was flying off the plate, I love that. The beef stew was super flavorful, juicy and tender with the right amount of salty to compliment the noodles. They give you the beef stew sauce on the side to add to your noodles as you go. I'm also a sucker for fried eggs so that was just a cherry on top. I can see myself coming back here for the beef stew whenever I'm craving it. Highly recommend. Good for small, intimate, inexpensive group of people for dinner.

We were in the San Leandro area and stopped by Babe Cafe for brunch. The interior is cute and I really liked the touch of greenery inside. It felt like we were in someone's home. Service was quick and efficient. We got: - Hong Kong toast with butter - Curry fish balls - Salt & Pepper shishamo - Hong Kong milk tea - Beef chow fun with egg My favorites were the curry fish balls (tastes exactly like what I ate in Hong Kong!) and the salt & Pepper shishamo. Great flavor and delicious. The HK milk tea (hot and iced) are a must get. I'd come back here!

Eggplant with salty fish is so good and sizzling! It is oilly but hey it's eating out haha We also got salty fish fried rice - so good! Beef noodle is ok! Lemon tea is good. Not too sweet. Can be hard to flag staff but be patient. :)

First time here on a Monday late afternoon around 3:30 p.m., and there was only one other table occupied. They don't have a happy hour menu, or at least I didn't see one. There are parking spaces right outside the restaurant, so you don't have to look for street parking. The place is cute and spacious. I love the tree décor inside the restaurant. I ordered a hot milk tea and a club sandwich to share since we needed a place to kill time while waiting for my other friends to come. My friend ordered a cold melon drink. The milk tea was okay; next time I come, I'll try their iced milk tea. The club sandwich was a good size and came with fries. I'm not sure if the lettuce inside the sandwich wasn't dried completely or if they added too much sauce, but the sandwich was dripping with white sauce (maybe they diluted the mayonnaise spread). Overall, the sandwich and milk tea were good, and I would come back to try other items on their menu. The place got busy around 5:30. The staff was attentive--the hot milk tea was served in a to-go cup and the lid didn't fit properly, so it leaked and stained my white jacket. One of the staff noticed and offered me a wet wipe.

Overall Rating 3.5/5 Ordered takeout - got the noodles and fried rice. Unfortunately, the fried rice was rung up or prepared incorrectly, so make sure to double-check your order before leaving. As for the food: Fried Rice: A bit of a miss. It was bland and lacked the punch we were hoping for. 5.5/10 Noodles: Slightly better, but still on the mild side flavor-wise. 6.5/10 The real MVP? Their hot sauce! Seriously, one of the best we've had and totally saved the meal. We asked for extra (thankfully), and it brought the flavor we were craving.

The Beef Curry Rice cube is their signature meal. The beef stew curry tastes fresh with crispy rice. The portion of the Sichuan Boiled fish with pickled cabbage and chilli is big. If you have 2 more people, you should try this dish. Oliver Leaf String bean with ground beef goes well with rice Salty fish chicken eggplant is my personal favorite. The clay pot makes the taste more unique. Highly recommend! The staffs are friendly, and the interior design is cute. They have two trees in the middle of the restaurant.

Baby Cafe is always a solid spot for Hong Kong-style comfort food. Portions are good, flavors are consistent, and it's an easy place to grab a satisfying meal. Only downside I'm sad they took the beef cheek pepper noodles off the menu. That used to be my go-to! Still, plenty of good options left, and service is quick and friendly enough for a casual HK café vibe.

My parents found this place so you know it's popular with the elders. They come here often, and so do their friends. It's a nice aesthetic inside with the fake trees and plants. The place was fully packed on a weekend. I didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised with all of the dishes we had. Beef cube - definitely a must-get, glad we got 2 to share for a group of 6. Rice cube was crispy all around and the beef pieces were so tender. Sauce was also really tasty. A really well done and unique dish. Hainan chicken noodle soup - chicken was a nice smooth texture. Broth is a light chicken broth flavor. Baked curry pork chop - pork was so tender, I was impressed because pork chops can be so dry if not cooked right. The curry and cheese over rice is comforting. Basil clams - the clams were a little soft but there was a lot of good sauce Thai-style fried noodles - kinda spicy, I would say Thai-inspired flavors Hong Kong milk tea (hot) - my mom said usually the flavor is stronger but that day it wasn't as strong, but still good. Just wish it came out hotter.

Food: I had the beef and scrambled egg chow fun, which was solid and flavorful, definitely a good pick. The wonton soup was decent, but the filling leaned a little too sweet for my taste. For dessert, the mango purple sticky rice was a nice surprise not overly sweet and really enjoyable. Ambiance: The vibe here is awesome lots of space, super clean, and the trees inside the dining area give it a really unique look. It feels fresh and inviting, perfect for hanging out a bit longer. Service: Service started off fine, but it slowed down toward the end when it came time to get the check. Nothing major, but it was noticeable.

I stopped by a while back when it was grand open and now it becomes a restaurant I visit at least once a month. This place is good for any occasions and they are open till 10:30pm so I found myself coming here at night all the time for late dinner or late night snacks. I ordered the Beef Chow Fun with Scrambled Eggs. The beef was tender, and the scrambled eggs added a really soft, silky touch. Definitely a dish I keep getting all the time. The Wonton Beef Stew Noodle Soup has super rich broth, flavorful chunks of tender beef, and the wontons were plump and also flavorful with thin skins. The Mango Queendom beautifully presented and refreshing. Fully of mango flavor and not extremely sweet. Also tried some other snacks like the wings, pork chop, and toasts and they are very decent. The HK lemon tea tastes very authentic as well. The service was quick and friendly, and the vibe inside feels clean and casual. Has plenty of seatings so the wait is never long.

Beautiful restaurant . Makes me feel like I'm eating in a fairytale. The food is delicious and the drinks are huge. The hainan chicken rice plate is a popular choice and now I know why. Tender and juicy. The popcorn chicken is flavorful and delicious. My favorite drink is the red bean ice. It comes with ice cream on top. Service is friendly and efficient . They speak both Chinese and English.

Don't have anything bad to say about my first visit. This is their grand opening period so the place looks super clean with a beautiful ambience. Very trendy looking with 2 large faux trees. The menu is pretty extensive and somewhat unique with some menu items I'd never seen at other Chinese restaurants, like a fusion of Thai and Chinese for some dishes. However, I will say that their tom yum spaghetti was a major disappointment and honestly kind of gross. Tasted nothing like Tom Yum and was a bit of a slimy consistency. Their Hainan chicken soup broth was also a bit bland, or too clean for me. Other than those two dishes, we quite liked everything else for the most part. Chicken wings were cut in half and easy to eat with good flavor, beef and egg chow fun was ok (wish they stir fried it first before putting the egg and beef sauce), the rice block was delish, and the string bean and beef dish was well done too! Service on a slow day was pretty good. Went twice. A Wednesday night, no one was really there, so service was pretty good. A Saturday afternoon for lunch was crazy busy, so service was often tough to get unless you flagged someone down.

Open until 10pm, it's menu has a variety of dishes that will satisfy your appetite. I was there at 8:30pm on a Tuesday night. My job finished up at Kaiser Hospital @ San Leandro, and Baby Cafe is just down the street at Fairway x Doolittle. I was greeted and offered a table. It wasn't crowded at all, with only five tables occupied. The menu is a picture book full of familiar dishes and items. I ordered: Beef Won Ton Noodle Soup. My soup was very good, it had a nice balance of won ton, beef, veggies, and thin ramen. The pieces of beef were tender with some tendon. The beef fat added to the rich flavor. The broth was mild and not salty. The restaurant itself is fairly large with a variety of tables. The decor is modern and bright. The unique features include two large trees in the dining room. There's two "all gender" restrooms. The one I used was small and confining. Baby Cafe is in a shopping center with a shared parking lot. The restaurant faces Fairway Dr. Tip: Come a little later and avoid the dinner crowd.

This has been on my "to go" list for a while. However, I did not have a chance yet. Food was delicious, liked the Hainan Chicken. The crispy noodle was very delicious too. The white pasta was a great spin: there was wasabi in the sauce. Service was quick and accurate. Ambiance was casual, beautifully decorated and clean. Will come again. Parking was easy and plentiful: in the same parking lot of the supermarket and plenty of stores.

Food was yummy, I enjoyed both the baked chicken steak over rice and Beef chow fun with scrambled eggs. The baked chicken steak is on par with shooting star's, maybe not as good but close. I have yet to find another restaurant that can do it as good or same as shooting star. The chicken had plenty of cheesy sauce all around. Could use a little more chicken because there is a lot of rice under. Priced well at $16 before tax and the chow fun was $17 before tax Restaurant is spacious inside, lots of seating, tables and booths. Servers took our order on iPads, food came out in 5-10 minutes. The chow fun came out first and baked chicken steak came out 5 minutes after. Staff was helpful and spoke Chinese/English. Plaza it's in is near Marina park and there is a market few stores down if you need groceries.

Got a few things: - Hainan chicken rice plate - Olive leaf string beans w/ ground pork - Black pepper beef pan fried spaghetti - Stir fried eggplant and string beans Hainan chicken was good, tender. I liked the flavored rice it came with. You could easily make a better (fresher) ginger scallion sauce at home though. We liked the olive leaf string beans w/ ground pork. It's the only one I'd get again. The black pepper beef pan fried spaghetti was like typical American Chinese food (obviously, but my boyfriend wanted to try it lol) Stir fried eggplant and string beans is one of my favorite dishes. It wasn't what I expected, vibrant colors and blistered from the wok. The one here is sauced and soggy. I also have to say -- the vegetable dishes were too expensive. They charge as much as the meat ones. That being said, I'll probably give Baby Cafe one more try in the future since they have a large-ish menu that I want to explore.

We love HK cafes and surprisingly it took us long enough to finally try this restaurant. Never tried their union city location. Located in the same parking lot as New Sang Chong supermarket on the side. When you first walk in, you don't feel like you're in a HK cafe. The decor is modern with 2 large faux tree. Don't really understand the thought process behind the baby and how it ties in with the decor. Nonetheless, the restaurant feels bright and clean. We got greeted and seated immediately. We ordered: -Hainan chicken- chicken was tender, ginger scallion was good. -baked pork chop - the pork was on the thicker side, it was saucy but found it weird that their sauce had celery. Also was ascetically unpleased with how they served a completely broken fried egg on top. (See photo) I know there is a shortage and all but damn can they take the time to fry up another egg? It's not like they can't re-use the broken egg for fried rice! -basil clams- okay -dried scallop egg white fried rice - too salty -sizzling beef stew noodles - it was nice that the sauce came on the side so that the fried noodles didn't get soggy. The beef was tender -iced lemon tea - too sweet. I had to dilute it with the free tea. I want to try other dishes next time. But also wonder if I really need to or not...3.5 stars

My best friend and I went here for lunch. The restaurant is pretty big, clean and well-lit. I had no problem with the service. I got the sizzling steak meal and my bestie got the baked curry pork dish. Portions are large in my opinion and we both came very hungry lol. My sizzling steak had great flavor overall, but I found it a bit dry and some pieces chewy. The tomato sauce it comes with is pretty good though. The pork curry dish was very flavorful and the pork was tender and delicious. I haven't had good HK milk tea in a long time, and Baby Cafe's has now become my absolute favorite one. Can't wait to try other dishes in the near future.

Baby Cafe has a hefty Hong Kong style menu with so many choices!! It was honesty hard to choose what to order. My go-to order at HK style cafes is the Pork Chop with Spaghetti and WOW the sauce is packed with flavor. The sauce alone made the entire dish. It came with two big pork chop pieces and a good portion of spaghetti noodle. Would definitely come back just to order this dish again. The BBQ Pork with Rice was a good portion size. Came with slightly runny eggs and a sauce on the side ( i assume for the rice). My bbq pork was slightly burnt on the edges but overall super flavorful. Under the eggs was lettuce for the extra crunch. Overall, the dish was pretty standard. For dessert, we ordered the mango purple sticky rice. My only complaints about this was the sago was clumped together and the dish wasn't as cold to my liking (that's sort of a preference thing tho). The mango was good and purple rice gave a great texture. Service was great and the servers attentive. They walked around to check on us and refilled our tea cups multiple times. There's a parking lot in the plaza and so much seating inside. I would definitely come back again with family to try!

i forgot to take pictures of our food but i do want to preface this by i will definitely come again! me and my boyfriend got the tom yum fried rice and it was scrumptious as well as the popcorn chicken, it was solid and great sharing dishes. the highlight of baby cafe is their chili oil. the flavour is great and added so much to the dishes! they also sell bottles of it! service was great straight forward but attentive and nice

Had the Beef Stew in a rice box. I loved the presentation and the crispy rice. It came with a bowl of extra gravy on the side so that the rice box stays crisp and doesn't get drenched by the gravy. The stew was very flavorful, although the beef could have been a touch more tender. My Sister in law had the baked pork chop over spaghetti noodles which came with a fried egg on top. It looked really good and hit the spot for her. Service was quick and friendly overall. The restaurant itself is bright, clean and nicely decorated.

Typical HK style cafe with an extensive menu. Parking: shared lot with other businesses. Parking can be tough on the weekends because of the Asian supermarket around the corner. Ambiance: good size restaurant with a lot of tables. Modern decor and even has a waiting area at the front of the restaurant. A good spot for friends to hang out. It's clean and bright inside. The stir fry veggie dish was too salty and the beef noodle soup was just lukewarm. Cost: $ I would come back for take out and if dining in, we will get the fried rice again.

The food is just as you would expect from a Hong Kong cafe. The hainan chicken was tender and perfectly paired with the ginger scallion sauce. The beef stew was tender. The staff was friendly, and food was served very quickly. The restaurant was busy for a Sunday lunch but we (party of 3) didn't need to wait for a table. The interior design looked modern and clean with some tree decor.

Another annual meeting with my good friends! Quality/Quantity - Complimentary peanuts. I finished them all by myself, lol. Oyster Sauce Chinese Broccoli - Fresh and steamed well. My only suggestion is to include knives or scissors to cut these long branches... It was just messy to eat. Hai Nan Chicken - A whole chicken for only $8 more. And we knew someone would take the leftovers home. It was also good that they gave us two ginger dishes. House Beef Stew - So flavorful and the beef was so tender. All of which were of decent quantities. Atmosphere - Beautiful new location. Cool hip decor. See pictures. Overall a decent size location. Clean modern restrooms. Open 7 days a week from 11am to 10pm. Plenty of mall parking. Service - 6 stars. The team here was very welcoming. They never pressured us as we stayed here for 4 hours catching up on our lives. Price - $72 + very generous tip! Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2016 and at this location since December of 2024 and with your 3-4 locations. (Your Oakland location has closed). I believe Jun Chen is the owner and a serial entrepreneur.

Came here on Sunday after 5pm.There were other tables occupied but lots of vacant ones. So we were seated quickly. Service was great. Very friendly and attentive. We got the beef stew rice cube. Its instagrammable. Tasted good but the beef brisket could be more tender. Hand shredded chicken was flavorful but a bit salty. We were waiting for our oil rice but it never came. We asked the server and she said it's coming. Then when we ordered a pork chop rice to go, she said they are re-making the oil rice and need another 10 min! The egg puff was crispy. Could have more egg flavor. Thai tea didn't taste like Thai tea at all!! I would not order that again. Ice milk tea had strong tea but didn't have enough cream or milk. Had the pork chop rice at home and it had lots of sauce and was just how it should be. The rice was just white rice and not egg fried rice. But since there was so much sauce, it's good. The oil rice was a bit undercooked. Also, some chairs were cracked and not comfortable to sit on. Hope they can replace them before injuring someone. I would give this place a 3.5 but round up to 4 since we did enjoy the food, ambiance and service.

What a beautiful interior. The food portions and quality were great. Drinks were done well. We were a party of 3 and had a great meal. We ordered the pork chop over rice, half hainan chicken, popcorn chicken, wonton soup noodles and egg waffle. Would def return.

When I heard that Baby Cafe opened a new location in San Leandro I knew i had to check them out! I was so bummed when their Oakland Chinatown location closed down. I ordered the sizzling steak plate with garlic sauce and my mom ordered the hainan chicken rice with ice lemon tea. The steak was cooked to perfection. It was tender and flavorful! You can taste the char from the sizzling plate and the onions were a perfect addition to the garlic sauce. The hainan chicken was just okay, it wasn't superb and the rice didn't taste like hainan chicken rice, but the chicken was silky and I loved the ginger scallion sauce. I loved the decoration inside the restaurant. I got seated right under their tree so that was perfect for ambiance. It's rare to see a tree inside of a restaurant so kudos for the unique decoration!

We found Baby Cafe on Yelp and decided to give it a try. It is located in the Marina Faire Shopping Center with many other eateries(mainly Asian). The interior has a cheery vibe with two large artificial trees providing a bit of greenery. Service was friendly and the servers checked on us often. We had the Hainan Chicken, beef stew cube rice, thai style vermicelli, the thousand year egg and lean pork jook(porridge) and the BBQ eel(Unagi) stone pot. The Hainan Chicken was very good. The meat was tender and juicy. The beef stew cube rice, one of the signature dish, was enjoyable with the crispy rice but some of the brisket pieces were too chewy. The Thai style noodle was pleasant and not too spicey. The BBQ eel stone pot was OK. I was expecting it to be like the unagi bowl at Japanese restaurants, but the sauce used here is not teriyaki sauce but something different. The jook was flavorful and hot. The restaurant is near the San Leandro Marina so we went for a walk after the meal. I think we like to try other dishes at Baby Cafe next time we are near the Marina.

I've been trying to try this place out for a while now and today was the day!!!! I rolled there and I found Parking right out in front of all things lol !!! I walked in like a Boss and grabbed a Table and a Menu to Peruse!!! I was brought a Glass of Water and a Pitcher. I ordered: Prawns Chow Fun with Runny Scrambled Eggs!!! Thai Basil Clams Fried Chicken Wings 6 2 Fruit Smoothies Baller On A Budget Approved Snack!! Food started appearing from the Kitchen 15 Minutes after ordering!!! The Food was Piping Hot and Portions were Good!!!! Flavors were Good !!!! Service was good!!! Fairly Attentive!!! Environment was Clean!!! Decor was interesting with 2 Giant Fake trees in the Dining Room!!!! This is a Baller On A Budget Approved Establishment!!!

Fried fish with corn sauce is always a home comfort meal. Simple yet tasty. Not pictured, we usually get baked minced meat spaghetti for kids and they always like it. No problem eating which helps us as a family with two toddlers. Char siu rice with eggs was ok. Char siu wasn't as tasty compared to some restaurants like Jin Ge Ge in San Leandro. Service was fast as we got there and ordered before the dinner crowd on a Friday night. But restaurant was full by around 6:10pm.

Excellent food , thanks to my colleague who referred this gem of an restaurant. Went for lunch with co workers and absolutely loved their ambiance and lots of insta worthy spots to take pictures. Coming to seating , there are ample space and we got to sit in a booth. Food was extraordinary with flavours rich and I loved my Tom yum noodle soup Seafood. Huge portion with generous veggies and seafood. Worth every penny, will definitely visit again and try their other dishes

Baby Cafe was our 19th hole lunch today. This is another Hong Kong like eatery. Baby Cafe is first time for most of us and still has the "Grand Opening" sign hanging outside. It was not too crowded and we were seated immediately. Clean and nice wide open atmosphere. This is in a strip mall with lots of parking. We have eaten at many of the other restaurants in this strip. We decided to order family style and share our dishes. The staff were friendly and service was fast. We ordered Baked Pork Chop over rice, Beef Stew, Beef Chow Fun, Japanese Tofu, and Curry Fish over Spaghetti. Every dish was tasty and portions are decent portions. Our party couldn't decide if Baby Cafe was better or the other HK cafe close by that we frequent after golf? We will be back to try more dishes at Baby Cafe as we all did enjoy what we ordered.

Bright, clean, large strip mall parking lot, good service, many items to choose from, tables are nicely spread out, The Beef Stew Rice Cube was good - little chewy on the beef while rice was nice and crunchy with additional small bowl of beef stew sauce to pour or dip your fried rice. The Pei Don So Yook Jook - Thousand Year Old Egg Lean Pork Porridge was decent, very smooth, a bit gooey as if blended, not sure, and wished they had Fried Donuts for dipping - but nope. We ordered a Green Onion Pancake which was ok, but not fluffy enough to replace a Fried Doughnut for Jook Dipping. Will go back to try other things. Their BoBa Milk Tea looked interesting.

Tasty Chinese comfort food. My mom likes it here also as the saltiness is perfect. Service is very attentive and efficient. Ambiance is very casual, has modern and eye catching decorations. Would definitely want to come back!

I gave it another try after the initial soft opening and it was from day to night Wait time to be seated - 15 - 20 minutes depending on the party size Beef stew won ton noodles is good- beef stew is soft and good amount of wonton The Tom yum shrimps with spaghetti is kind of strange The taste is there and very saucy It's an acquired taste that needs to get use to it Overall - not bad

Came around the late afternoon on super bowl weekend and had to wait around 10 minutes for a table - It was packed. We checked out the menu before getting seated. I was craving the baked pork chop rice and anticipated a wait as I read it takes awhile to come out, but the other food was pretty good for my tastebuds/reminiscent of what I would order at Shooting Star in Oakland. It was solid, I enjoyed it, and had an entire half to eat for dinner! I didn't like the Hainan Chicken Rice as much, not because it wasn't good, but the dish wasn't what I was hoping for. Rice was just coconut rice, not flavored with the chicken broth. Chicken itself was okay, and ginger was okay too - Nothing this because the ginger is just about my favorite part of any Hainan Chicken order. Otherwise service was not bad as everything came out promptly. They were super busy so I didn't expect a lot.

We love HK style cafe food and couldn't wait to try the new baby cafe in San Leandro. We arrived Sunday, late afternoon 5pm. The place was really spacious and we loved the indoor "forest" decor. We were disappointed that 2 of the chairs at our table had cracks and were uncomfortable to sit on. Considering this restaurant is new, we were really surprised by the deteriorating furniture. We ordered their signature iced milk tea and Thai iced tea. Both were pretty bad and didn't taste anything like how it was supposed to. For food, we ordered: 1) egg puffs - really crispy and airy just like how it is in HK. (4/5) 2) beef stew rice cube - I love scorched rice, so really liked this reimagining of this classic dish. However, I have to deduct points on the cost. $20 is pretty expensive for beef stew over rice (4/5) 3) hand shredded chicken - really tasty and moist. Even the breast meat was tender and not dry. (5/5) 4) baked pork chop rice cube- pretty good, on par with other similar restaurants (4/5) 5) drinks - doesn't taste anything like its name would suggest (2/5)

Came here for dinner on a Saturday night. It was packed but we got one of the last few tables. Once seated, they brought us hot tea right away which was nice. We went through the menu and decided to go for the hainanese chicken, baked ton yum spaghetti, salt and pepper squid, wonton soup and the kiwi cooler Our food came really quick given that they were busy which was nice. The service was good and quick. But now for the food The hainanese chicken was good - rice is tasty. The chicken could be a bit more tender and the scallion ginger sauce needs a bit more flavor. But if you eat it all together it was good The salt and pepper squid was also delicious. Best part was the crispy garlic The wonton soup was amazing - the broth was very flavorful and the cabbages were perfect The Tom yum spaghetti was also not bad. It was too hot to eat right away but once mixed and cooled it's good. I would've loved more cheese on it All in all great experience and good food. Would come back again to try their other menu items

TL;DR Great service (with a helpful and funny HK waiter), yummy food, and cute ambience! They have a few locations in the Bay Area but this was my first time at any of their restaurants. I truly love Hong Kong style "diner" food like this but don't get to have it too often as there aren't that many good ones in the bay IMO. However, this was definitely one of the good ones! Always have to order the baked pork chop over rice (one of the staples for this type of food) and it was delicious! We also got the beef stew with the rice cube (love that crispy rice) but I liked the pork chop more. My son also really enjoyed the eggettes and popcorn chicken. They have some specialty milk teas as well and I thought the lemon ice tea was just the right amount of sweetness. Would recommend a visit!
