"Striving to bring the unique magic of Japanese karaoke to New York, Baby Grand is a diminutive bar with no private booths that still conjures an intimate atmosphere. Affordable beers and stiff cocktails are a welcome break from the usual karaoke offerings in the city, and each song costs $2. The place is packed on the weekends, but weeknights are pleasant and still energetic. There’s an additional Greenpoint location." - Paul Schrodt

LOVED this place. We came in with my cousin on a late, cold rainy night and this place warmed us right up. The bartender and patrons were all really nice and approachable. The song list book has something like 5K songs to choose from so it has something for everyone. People of all skill levels sing and everyone was supportive and enthusiastically cheering each other on. I had a great time here (and even sang! Which...if you know me, would have really shocked you lmao).

Cool little Kareoke bar. Little is saying its the size of a living room. I had fun here because the crowd was so fun.

One of my favorite bars on earth. Automatic karaoke party. Awesome bartenders, great sound, very cozy, great place to make friends or come with a small party. There’s also a few regulars who give the place real authenticity. Very special place. Thursday nights and weekends is a problem, because small size not conducive to the larger crowds that come, and the security/bouncer tasked with handling this situation is not friendly and has a terrible attitude.

Solid late night after party when most bars are closing. Open till 4 am and stayed pretty lively till the end. Unfortunately its super tight and small, and listing to drunk people very poorly belt out songs in an overly small and tight space is not my bag of tea. But if you like karaoke this spot is really good for that.

A tight squeeze (rent ain’t cheap ya know) but quite fun! Very lower Manhattan. Karaoke for hours with decent bar selection. Not great for a large group perhaps, but a great spot to sing your heart out and have a great time doing it.

This is a tricky review. I don't want to mislead karaoke lovers by giving this place 5 starts because while the singing is fantastic here, it's not what we expected for a fun night of drunk singing. Everyone seemed to be trained and we're flaw less singers, so not where we wanted to go knowing were terrible but enjoy the fun.

Baby grand is hands down my favorite karaoke bar in NYC. If you're going to stand up and sing something in front of a crowd, there's no better place to do it. Always a fun and supportive group, drinks are reasonable for the area (~$7 beer) and good song selection ($2 per song). Be aware that it's a small bar and can get crowded and no food is available.
