I'm the first review! Woo hoo! I've been to this location three times now; once just to purchase, once to purchase and drop off consignments, and once to finish the consignment process.
First, buying. They have a good variety of children's clothes, mostly the nicer brands. Their prices range from around 99 cents for a onesie, to $7 or $8 for winter jackets. Most items are priced in the $3-$5 range. Can you get children's clothes cheaper at other places? Yes. But the items they take in are nice. I usually have a hard time finding clothes for my 3T boy at thrift stores, and they had several full racks. I won't complain at finding a Gymboree sweater for $5! In terms of baby equipment, toys, and books, they don't have a huge selection, but they do carry some things. If you're trying to stock up for a new baby, I would go to the seasonal sales held around the area. But if you're just picking up the odd item and aren't too picky about brand, this place will work.
Second, consigning. I dropped off a bag of 74 items, boys and girls, some name brand, some not, all clean with no tears. They give you the option of paying you straight cash, or store credit with an extra 20%. They pay around 30% of what they'll sell the item for. I figured that would roughly be about .90 cents to $1 a piece, considering the variety of items I was dropping off. About 2 hours later I got a call, saying that my total came to $21. I was crushed! I said I'd pick up my whole lot. But wait...
When I got to the store the third time, I found out it wasn't $21 for the 74 pieces, but $21 for 26 of the 74 pieces. With the store credit option, it came to around .93 cents a piece which I thought was okay. (Again, you can get more at other places, but it's nice getting rid of a lot at a time.) They mostly took the new with tags items (no surprise there), and the seasonal (winter) name brand items, but then again, they also left some of the name-brand in-season items. So I don't really know the rhyme or the reason, except they probably have a mental log of what they don't have a lot of in their store.
Summary:
-I think the consigning part is reasonable, especially if you get store credit. They're fast, and everyone I talked to were very kind.
-I didn't mention this before, but they have a little enclosed play area in the store for little kiddos. Perfect! It makes shopping with my two little ones do-able; so thank you!
-The selection is good. The first time I went I picked up 20+ pieces for my kids. Some were on the clearance rack which was extra nice.
-I'm definitely planning on going again (partly to spend my store credit, lol). Check it out!
