"Babycakes Bakery is returning to Hillcrest after leaving its original location on Fifth Avenue. The bakery, established in 2008, is known for its specialty cupcakes in flavors like salted caramel and tres leches. It also offers full-sized cakes, brownies, cookies, and creme brulee cheesecake. The new store is expected to open this October and may include soft-serve ice cream, frozen yogurt, wine, and beer." - Candice Woo

Old stale cookies were given to me. They are brick hard and taste terrible. The banana pudding had spolied and smelled terrible. The bananas were black. See photos. They were all purchased today . Why would you sell old expired food? I don't want an apology I want my $20 back. I will be coming by in the morning for my refund.

Paid $70 for two dozen cupcakes that were hard, stale and the smallest cupcake I believe I’ve seen. The sprinkles were dissolved into the icing which told me how long they’d been sitting. Not worth it. We also got the banana pudding, a piece of caramel cake, and a piece of honey bun cake. NONE OF IT was good or fresh. The banana pudding had an overpowering banana flavor it was soggy, and the bananas were black. The honey bun cake was hard dry and syrupy. The caramel cake was just a bundt cake with what looked like “icing” poured over it and the icing was “crunchy”. We did also get a chess cake square and it was decent. When we walked in to get our order they didn’t offer to help us, we had to wave to them in the back for help. This is not an over exaggeration of our experience we will not be going back and do not recommend.

I ordered a cake for my daughter. I don’t live in Nashville so I asked one of her friends to do it for me. The fact that they charged $165 for a cake that looks absolutely childlike is astonishing. When I asked for a partial refund, not only is this company nonprofessional, But they actually threw in that they will report me, Over a cake. I wanted something awesome for my daughter‘s birthday. This looks absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention the price was Outrageous. I have always supported small businesses. But I’ve never been treated with such a lack of respect. Whatever happened to the customers, right? The cake on the right is something that I usually get. The cake on the left where the dress starts at the thighs is what we received. Next time, I can do this myself for three dollars with a box cake. So instead of the owner trying to make it right, she threatened to call authorities, Now that’s just hysterical. There’s 1 million bakeries in the world, and I certainly would never get anything from this one. PLUS, not edible. Completely undercooked. $165. In the garbage. Horrible.

I called asking if I could get a couple of gender reveal cupcakes they said no problem and they would be done same day. I placed the order and got a email that it was ready. I had my sister drive up to pick them up and they told her they could not make a custom order and it would be ready the next day. So I called back and they said actually it will take a week, then they said I needed to order 12 when I called back later... THEN they said the colored frosting was out of stock. I was nothing but polite on the phone and the just blamed other employees every time I talked to them. This place has no idea what they are doing. I was so confused how they had a different story every time I called. Please save your time and choose another bakery.

Ordered two lemon cake slices from here for Friday night's dessert. First time experience. Both slices were hard, stale, and dry. Not ordering from here again.

Edit II: I tried a banana cake from here, and it was much better than the cookies. Nothing crazy, but pretty good! I bumped to three stars. Edit: my original review gave one stars for the cookies being hard (see below). apparently the cookies are intentionally baked hard. This isn’t my preference, but it was good context that perhaps some people enjoy hard cookies. I changed to 2 stars as perhaps some people might prefer a hard cookie. Be ready for a hard cookie! Original review: Y’all I bought cookies from here a few days ago to take to a cookie trying contest from bakeries around Nashville. There were 12 entries where everyone tried the cookies. These cookies got DEAD LAST. They were as hard as a rock. Literally the hostess had to get out a CHEF KNIFE to cut the cookies. It was very embarrassing.

BabyCakes Bakery is so nice. She made two cakes for Janet Jackson, when they came to rehearse for her tour. Luke Combs bought Four cakes. They all were amazing!!! The food was so good. The customer service was so good and the owner is amazing. BabyCakes Bakery is amazing. YOU WILL LOVE IT!! ❤️
