Baby's Coffee - Review - Miami - The Infatuation

"There are two good things about getting to Baby's Coffee. First, it means you are just under 30 minutes away from Key West. And second, it’s a great opportunity to get some caffeine in your system, which you will probably need for the final leg of what is always a very, very long drive. Baby's Coffee roasts their own beans and has more drinks beyond your standard espresso and hot or iced coffee. There are smoothies, and a very refreshing frozen latte. This place is also a lifesaver on the drive back to Miami, especially if you had one too many Hemingway daiquiris the previous night." - Ryan Pfeffer

Baby’s Coffee is an absolute gem. The food was delicious and very well priced — a rare combination in the Keys! The staff went above and beyond, and the free cookies for the kids were such a thoughtful touch. The shakes were incredible, too — definitely some of the best we’ve had. Another huge plus: there’s a public park right behind the restaurant, which gave the kids a perfect place to run around and play while we relaxed. Highly recommend Baby’s Coffee for families or anyone looking for great food, great prices, and a welcoming atmosphere!

Google
5 stars for the coffee, breakfast pastries, and Christmas ornaments. My husband came to the Florida Keys on our honeymoon- Baby’s Coffee was perfection, however the cashier was cold and rude. I thanked her and told her we came from very far away and she ignored me, coldly, and told me to “go fill up your cup there” and the coffee was sadly luke-warm temperature. Weird! …so we sat in the artsy, lounge area and enjoyed the perfect pastries. Yum 🤤

Google
Good coffee! Great service and a cute shop with lots of options. Easy off and on the main road. Lots of parking. Great for a pick me up on the way up or down the keys.

Google
Great stop for morning coffee. Many roast to choose and you can get coffee by pound in either bean or grind to your liking. Great breakfast pastry and fare to choose from. Fair prices

Brent J.

Google
Relaxed coffee bar with some quirky art. Coffee rich and flavorful. Staff generally quite friendly. Wish we had gotten the chance to try the food truck outside. I think definitely worth it

Very cute set up inside. Very busy. We had only coffee. It was so nice the coffee station had free 🍪 cookies. That was really nice. Our hotel didn't have anything free. One tiny cup 🍸, no complementary breakfast. It looked like the complementary free water cup. Anyway I loved everything about it. The girls were nice. Mahalo and Aloha (Thank you). Yessah Let's go!

☕ Baby’s Coffee - Key West What a hidden gem for coffee lovers visiting the Keys! The place has a cool, laid-back vibe with quirky signs, friendly service, and great coffee. Their iced drinks are super refreshing, perfect for the Florida heat. The coffee is rich, smooth, and freshly brewed—you can tell they take pride in roasting their own beans. They also have a fun merch section with mugs and souvenirs if you want to take a piece of Baby’s Coffee home. The pastries and sandwiches looked great too, making it a perfect pit stop whether you’re heading into Key West or out. Highly recommend grabbing a coffee here—you won’t regret it! 🌴☕

Google
My family and I can’t say enough good things about this coffee shop. We stayed in Cudjoe Key for a week and stopped in every day we could. They were even open on Christmas morning, with the owner there himself. The coffee and matcha were some of the best we’ve ever had, but the customer service was even better. The owner was almost always there, chatting with customers. Joe - your kindness won’t be lost upon us! Thanks again. If you’re staying in the Keys, make this your daily go-to—you won’t be disappointed.

Yelp
We stopped here on our way out of Key West. Should have come sooner! It's awesome! We highly recommend the stop. Great coffee selection, merch galore, pastries, and they have a food truck outside that we reccomend checking out.. I purchased the key lime donut. It's huge! Yeasty, soft, and the perfect amount of filling. If you like this combo, like I do, you will love this donut! I didn't think I could eat the whole thing, but I DID! Declisous! They have FREE mini chocolate chip cookies with every order! I ordered the macadamia cookie latte (saw it in someone's review). It is delicious but sweet and I do t usually order sweet drinks like this. It was REALLY GOOD, but this drink with the huge key lime donut about toole out. HA! Your girl isn't used to consuming that much sugar in one shot. So to balance that out I walked over to the food truck and ordered a steak, grilled onions, egg and cheese sandwich. WOW!!! It was huge and delicious! It's a heavy sandwich. So bring an appitite, be prepared to share it, or save half of it for later. Everyone in our party thought we would enjoy it with out the eggs. I would definitely order again, but without the eggs. They offer a fried chicken & waffle sandwich that I really want to try. Sounds amazing! What an indulgence that would be. Mmmm. Lots of parking, bathrooms, plenty of seating I side and outside. Highly recommend to put this as your stop going into Key West and leaving Key West!

Yelp
This is a must stop on the way to Key West, or leaving Key West I have been patronizing Baby's Coffee since the early 90's back in the lower Duval Street location era So when I come back to the keys, this is a stop that makes me feel like I am back home. I am at peace here. I just love the vibe, and everything associated with this magical place. Every time I pull in here, I feel like a teenager, getting all giddy and stuff! New owners took possession mid 2025, I believe. There have been changes. And I think these changes are for the better. There is a little coffee lounge with restrooms, a big picture window showing how they roast the coffee beans, a better, social media presence, And the merch! Oh my...the merch! I always get a regular coffee, with two sugars and two creams. I love their coffee. So rich, robust, flavorful, and with a little bit of zing perfect for that morning wake me up. And I always vary on the delicious breakfast items muffins, and pastry items available. It's like a little box of chocolates for me. Never had a bad choice. The pastries are delicious. I love just sitting here drinking the coffee, and taking in the vibe. It's so peaceful. It really is a happy place. You can also purchase different flavors of coffee online at their website. I love going to Key West, visiting Duvall Street etc.... , but Baby's Coffee is what I look forward to most here in the lower keys! Now, if only I could figure out how to get my hot rod shipped 1600 miles down here.....

Yelp
Baby's is a phenomenal coffee shop. I visited for the first time back in 2016. Sometimes when you're on vacation you romanticize your experience, I'll admit it. When it comes to Baby's, romanticize away, because this place is just awesome. The coolest part was seeing all the renovations and expansions nine years later. Not only do they have a line out the door, but a robust market, free cookies, merchandise, and a full coffee and pastry menu. The Florida humidity was in full swing so iced Americano it is. The quick jolt I needed to start the day. The best part was their bacon egg and cheese croissant. Holy massive croissant batman, this behemoth was enormous! Flaky, savory, and so so delicious. Baby's Coffee has tons of outdoor seating, an airstream, another side room with indoor seating. Though it looks like a lot of people who frequent this place take their items to go. Make sure you allocate a few extra minutes, because they do get quite busy. But the baristas and cashiers are hustling to make your coffee dreams come true. Better than I remembered. How cool is that? Baby's Coffee was the perfect send off from our week in Key West. I just wish we made it in a few more times!

Yelp
Such a cute little coffee shop to stop at on the way to Key West! I tried the iced cinnamon bun latte after seeing it on their Instagram, and it was a 10/10--sooo good! My mom got the frozen strawberry matcha latte, which was unique and delicious--I'd definitely order it next time. Overall, no complaints! A great casual coffee spot with good food, friendly staff, and fun drink options. Definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
AMAZING little coffee place with some good bagels and specialty bagels and croissants. Do yourself a favor and ask for a hot latte with one pump of coconut syrup and macadamia milk. It's a slice of Hawaii. WOW!!!! You don't wanna miss this place. If you're looking for some coffee.
google avatar

Yelp
This was my second time coming to this place and I see the place is expanding a lot now. The iced latte matcha hits the spot for a nice cold drink. It was delicious. The gourmet Cuban bagel was a must try.it was running out and have to wait to make a new batch. The service was great and fast for a quick stop. If you are around the area, I suggested you should stop by and give them a chance to try their drink and food.

Yelp
I was compelled to update my review from 8 years ago because this place continued to delight us! Faith was our excellent barista this visit and she made sure everything was to our liking! Perfecto! A large double dirty chai light sweet latte made with cream for my wonderful wife! Pure espresso for me, on ice because I can! Baby's is our favorite coffee spot in the lower keys. Friendly to travelers, locals and tourists alike, it's always a pleasure to stop in and enjoy in-house roasted coffee and espresso drinks. Also, their iced chai tea latte is amazing because it's made from real chai tea, not some corporate syrup flavoring from a large chain that shall remain nameless. Their in-house roasted coffee brand is called Southernmost Coffee Roasters in America. Many mixes of beans are also sold here, along with key lime pies, beers, and other sundries. Honestly, we've always stuck with espresso and chai drinks because they are awesome! In fact, they espresso is so rich and smooth, it truly doesn't need sugar! However, if you ask for one sugar they mix in a scoop of brown sugar as your espresso is poured. To quote a favorite local original Tampa Bay Yelper who unfortunately passed away... #ElFreakinYummo!

Yelp
This is a very cute and lively coffee spot right on the outskirts of key west. They sell lots of stuff including beans and souvenirs. They do have some food and pastries available as well. The coffee was fine but not great. I had a cappuccino and it was a little too hot and slightly strong, but definitely drinkable. I like the vibe in the little attacked room where there are a few seats. Overall, a decent place for a cup of joe on your way into or out of key west.

Yelp
Can't believe I have not reviewed Baby's here... we have been coming here for decades, and is another must stop every time we go to the keys. Sometimes we have been crazy enough to drive down just to buy coffee to bring home. They have TONS of different coffee beans to choose from all different flavors, and strengths, and they will grind it for you if you want. The frozen coffee you can get is to die for, its so good, my favorite flavors are vanilla and unexpectedly coconut! Those are also great for just an iced latte. The place is nearly always busy so be prepared to wait a little bit. They also now have a food truck grill in the lot, baby's grill. We didn't try this time because it was raining over when we were there. They also sell steaks, bottled, drinks/water, and breakfast sandwiches, pastries, danishes, they they all make IN HOUSE! Making baby's a one stop shop for all your morning goodies, I only wish it were a little more local to me!

Yelp
I've been wanting to stop here for years and I'm so glad I finally did on our recent trip down to KW! Lovedddd our coffees and their good options were great also!

Yelp
LOVE Baby's Coffee!!! My family has been visiting this coffee shop for years + years now, and we are always blown away by the incredible service, snacks, espresso, etc. Every year, there are little updates to the building/ experience + it's a joy to watch the shop evolve + grow. We adore the relaxed + laid back vibe, but our favorite part has to be the outdoor seating area. The benches + tables are lovely. As far as food + drinks go, everything is great. If you're looking for something sweet + refreshing, I HIGHLY recommend the frozen hot chocolate! ++ Definitely don't forget to pick up one of their free stickers! 1000000/10!!! Can't wait to come back next year!
google avatar

Yelp
Love this coffee shop. Has fresh strong fantastic coffees and lattes. It's a favorite stop for us. Fast service and reliable hours. Friendly staff.
google avatar

Deke M.

Yelp
Love the coffee, the location the vibe and especially the iced latte with Sexpresso. I was surprised by the icy foam top but what a treat. It went especially well with the key lime beignet! My 4 star rating instead of 5 is due to everything in the shop not being priced, forcing the customer into "how much for the shirt", "how much for the container", "how much for a pound of coffee". If you're serious about selling the merch, Get. It. Priced. This should be common sense! I would've left with a lot more than the edible two items but I got the feeling the act wasn't together in the purchasing department so I even skipped the bulk coffee. Stellar product and I'd be a regular if I lived closer.
google avatar

Adriana G.

Yelp
This is the cutest breakfast spot; it is clean and adorable. They have the best sandwiches, bagels, and coffee! The service is amazing and they had free chocolate chip cookies, which made my morning even more special
google avatar

Yelp
stepped in here quickly on the way home to miami from the keys as we were falling asleep, the ambiance was amazing, staff was super sweet and the COFFEE?? omg. definitely will be stopping here again if i ever come back down to the keys. the owner actually offered me a free snack and that was so sweet, really helped make my day :) they also have food and fried oreos in a food truck outside. 5/5 quick stop with a memorable taste
google avatar

Beth K.

Yelp
Banana Carmel iced oat milk latte-- may very well be the best latte I've ever had. I love trying local coffee shops when I travel. I try my best to stay away from the chains. This place did not disappoint. Absolutely wonderful coffee. My husband got an Americana because he likes pure coffee flavor, and he loved it. That's a really good sign. My kids got a blueberry muffin, also loved that. we have two days of vacation left and I know we will be back to this place.

Jack L.

Yelp
Coffee and sandwiches and pastries are amazing. Servers are also wonderful. Thank you Baby's. Looking forward to your Key West store.

Pete S.

Yelp
UPDATE: I have changed my review rating. I contacted Baby's and they were unaware that shop.app was "opting in" their customers. Shopify has a horrid reputation for this sort of behavior. Baby's responded: "After reading your emails, I've deleted Shop Pay as an option on the site. It no longer has any presence..." Thank you Babys, I am glad you care!! They have the best coffee in the world, but they have decided to give out their customers' phone numbers to a third party company without asking me. They also seem to have disconnected their phone. I guess nothing good lasts... but they were great for 20 years! R.I.P. Babys Coffee, you got enshitified.
google avatar

Yelp
I stop quite a few times a month on my way to work at Sugarloaf School. They have the best coffee and breakfast items (all I have tried). They even came to our school with their travel van and donated to the teachers on the first days of school. AMAZING!!!
google avatar

Charmine N.

Yelp
Great little cafe we stopped at on our trip in the keys. Staff were friendly and helpful and I bought one of the mugs they sell to remind me of our trip. Thank you for a great little hide-a-way!
google avatar

Tamara G.

Yelp
The coffee was fantastic, I got a frozen latte with coconut and macadamia milk. My husband got a frozen vanilla latte. We got some breakfast croissants and were pretty good but the best thing hands down was the key lime beignet. One of the best pastries I've had, the beignet was flakey with some powdered sugar on top and it seemed to have cinnamon and sugar as well. The key lime filling was light, I would have like more, but it was still so good!

Alison C.

Yelp
Baby's coffee is truly the best. Had dinner at the food truck and it was outstanding!! The guys were so nice. The food came out quick and was so very tasty. Highly recommend!!
google avatar

Rachel N.

Yelp
Let me tell you something, if you are going to the Keys, and you LOVE coffee, Baby's Coffee is the number one place to try!! Baby's Coffee has the very best dark roast coffee. This place was recommended by a Key West local as the best coffee to try, and you'll see it yourself when you go inside! There's a line that wraps around inside. I 100% recommend their house cold brew, they are definitely on my top 10 best coffee list. I can appreciate a good dark roast but if you like something lighter, I would recommend getting their lattes. My boyfriend got a strawberry matcha latte and he loved it. There's a good balance of strawberry and matcha and it's already sweetened so no need to ask for any additional sweetener. For food, I recommend trying any of their bagels. My boyfriend got their Cuban bagel and it was unique and tasty. It was very busy inside when we went (which is not surprising). However, the manager made sure to check up on everyone who was waiting in line. He also ended up giving everyone waiting for a free mug! I was so enticed by the smell of their roast that I ended up buying their coffee beans. I was unsure what kind of grind I would need for my French press and they were very helpful in grinding it for me. If you're stopping by Baby's from a run or a long drive to your destination, there are seatings outside to help you decompress. There is also a high table inside that you can stand and drink as well! Walk around inside while you're at it and buy yourself some merch. While waiting for your coffee, look at their artwork on the wall, and see which one speaks to you.

Maeci H.

Yelp
The iced matcha latte was one of the best I have ever tasted. Definitely worth a stop!

Breanah A.

Yelp
i was actually scared we wouldn't be able to stop here during our trip, but it was on the way back to the airport! the line was long, but the girl working the counter was so sweet and patient and we didn't really have to wait long to get our coffees. i got a cold brew, and omg it was amazing!!! best coffee we had during our trip to key west. lots of seating both inside and out
google avatar

Jamie M.

Yelp
An icon, but the coffee and food aren't actually very good. Pleasant and friendly place, but not for me
google avatar

Steph K.

Yelp
Best spot to stop when leaving Key west. The food and coffees are amazing and the service was so kind! Now i know where to go anytime I'm headed off Key West for breakfast or coffee!!
google avatar

Brit S.

Yelp
Long wait for coffee but the drinks were good. Also have a cool selection of snacks and other soft drinks. Cool spot to stop in as you drive into the Keys!
google avatar

Natalie G.

Yelp
Great stop on a drive up from Key West. Got coffee and breakfast sandwiches. Quick service (and my sandwich was made fresh). Vibe of a gas station/rest stop, but has a cute little shop at the front with store merchandise. The sandwich was absolutely huge--tried to add a water bottle for size comparison but think it doesn't even do it justice! Would definitely return.
google avatar

Heidi P.

Yelp
This place is awesome! The coffee is top notch- NOT your run of the mill stuff. Plus the prices are actually really reasonable, which is a HUGE PLUS in my opinion! My kids had the smoothies- so good! I had the cafe con leche. Delicious! We met the owner and he mentioned some cool future plans that have us excited! The ambiance is relaxed but clean. We will be back many times during this visit and will definitely return next year. You can even ship coffee which is very cool!
google avatar

Ginger A.

Yelp
The food here is really tasty! I had a homemade cherry danish! It was warm and flaky and not overly sweet! I had a nice iced coffee with Carmel flavor. They are super friendly and helpful with service here! The ambiance is very unique and big. I would come back for the danish and coffee but not necessarily the inside ambiance. It was a lovely day and the rooster and I enjoyed the sunshine outside where they had picnic tables, however they are right in front of the parking lot.

David G.

Yelp
This is the greatest coffee shop in the Keys. All of the help are so friendly and willing to assist you. The shop is also extreamly supportative of our military and first responders. If they show up in uniform, the coffee is free. The owners are often there and always willing to show you how they roast the beans and package them. This is a must visit.
google avatar

Alex B.

Yelp
While driving home from a bachelor party in the Keys, my friends and I were in need of caffeine. We happened upon this local coffee shop, and we were glad we chose it over national chains such as Starbucks and Dunkin'. The place itself doesn't seem like much from the outside, but you can usually tell the good ones from steady traffic during non-peak hours. Baby's was no different. They've got a large parking lot with plenty of space to serve the morning rush. We walked in and were greeted with the aroma of many blends of coffee that reminded me of my childhood walking through the coffee aisle at the grocery store with the grinders. For the food and drinks themselves, everything is standard fare at a good price (~$5) per item. I settled on a caramel latte along with a turkey sausage, egg, and cheese bagel. Both choices were amazingly delicious, but the coffee in particular stood out with its signature flavor. I was so impressed that I purchased a bag of their Baby's Havana Roast to bring home, and their staff happily ground it for me. I'd definitely give this place a shot if I have the opportunity to visit the area again.

Amelia P.

Yelp
Stopped here for coffee and a bite before our kayaking excursion and wow, what a pleasant surprise! The cold brew and banana latte were amazing. The cuban bagel was very tasty. The bacon egg and cheese croissant was outstanding. Maybe the best croissant I've ever had. So buttery, so flakey...
google avatar

Tracey F.

Yelp
This is a really nice coffee shop with a great selection of beverages .The service is always fast and pleasant . It's nice bc they also sell a little bit of everything else. There's not grocers close by so this store could save you got a last minute dinner .it's pretty out front with all the hydroponic plants.
google avatar

Sandi C.

Yelp
Love their coffee. I always stop by every time I come down to the keys. There are many different blends. This week there were only about 4 to choose from. However, they're also online and they will ship to you.
google avatar

Kate S.

Yelp
Ehhh, it was what it was for roadside coffee. We thought it would be a more legit coffee shop, but you pour your own coffee from carafes. The service was robotic. The highlight was the Cuban bagel.
google avatar

Heather C.

Yelp
I ordered a muffin and a coffee which ran me about $12. A little pricey; however, everything on the island is. The coffee was delicious and hit the spot. There aren't an abundance of coffee shops on the island, so this was a hidden gem!

Emma M.

Yelp
Such a cute little coffee shop. People were so kind and service was great. Ended up getting two bags of grounds - one for me one for my boyfriend, a latte, a danish, and a drip coffee. All were great! Would recommend this place!!!
google avatar

Chasen T.

Yelp
Oddly I'm not really a coffee drinker but love tea. So I've always just cruised right on by. I heard recently that they have sandwiches and bagels, so I figured, why not. I had the Cuban bagel and croissant sandwich and a muffin. The bagel was open face but still good like a Cuban sandwich. The croissant was large and hot and cheesy. I loved the coffee names and it wasn't as pretentious as Starbucks. I'm looking forward to going back to check out the food truck for lunch! I won't just pass by anymore!. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Marc S.

Yelp
Everybody loves baby's coffee. Great bagel half sandwich with great selection of bites and coffees

andres I.

Yelp
What an amazing breakfast! Coffee was delicious and the sausage egg and cheese bagel was spectacular. I went with some coworkers and we had a great time! I love that it is so close to key west. This coffee shop is my new favorite and a must do when visiting key west!!!
google avatar

Maria G.

Yelp
Best coffee, coffee drinks, breakfast items, and snacks! Even better service! Friendly professional staff and family owned! They give back to the community and strongly support law enforcement, fire fighters and first responders providing free coffee and discounts daily for those protecting and serving us all daily.
google avatar

Jan L.

Yelp
Great! Need to have gift certificates. I recommended this and it is being investigated.

Kristine L.

Yelp
Incredible selection of Coffey. They grind the beans for you if you wish. Fantastic warm sandwiches. Great frozen Key Lime pie. It does take a while to get your coffee order because there is only one person doing it. Very friendly folks there. A great place to stop.
google avatar

Marisol F.

Yelp
Over the past decade the keys have been put through the ringer with hurricanes and storm surges but Baby's Coffee has stayed steady. The look has changed over the years with the outside being cleaned up and the inside changes everyone few years but at the end of the day, the coffee is very consistent and the staff has always been excellent. Still have their specialty grocery items, their tee-shirts and the shared book exchange... I highly recommend any of my coffee-loving yelpers to stop into Baby's on their way into Key West (located right around Mile Marker 15).

Lisa B.

Yelp
Best coffee. Look nowhere else in the area. Very good service. And if hungry the snacks and sandwiches are pretty good. We come here every trip we make to KW

Clint H.

Yelp
I made a day trip down to Key West yesterday and on the way back up I was planning on stopping at Baby's Coffee. Unfortunately, I got there about 4:50pm and they were closed. When I pulled in a lovely lady saw me and let me know they were closed and they had put everything away because they were in the process of doing their closing cleaning, but if I was looking for ground coffee to go, she could help. She let me in, and I bought a few bags of coffee; she happily ground them up for me and I was on my way again. What great service along with a great a great product; she did not have to open up for me ~20 minutes after they were already closed! I will be back again.

Bonnie R.

Yelp
An iconic stop if you are visiting Key West. Coffee is deliciouso. Don't forget to get their Key Lime Beignet - a bit messy since it's coated with sugar but the best I've ever had. PLUS, be sure to get some roasted coffee beans to take home. I must for anyone visiting the Keys.
