This was a fun, local gem in Venice! Loved every minute of visiting and in short, can describe it as entertaining as heck, cheap and great place to get a small glass of wine and appetizer before your dinner.
If you're not a local, you will be overwhelmed. I was until I watched what was happening for a bit. There were a bunch of people and no semblance of a line forming. Jump in, pack patience and eventually, you will get to the counter. Don't expect uber friendliness; it's so busy I wouldn't expect it. Have your money ready and basically, everything on average, is one euro.
Make sure you look at the chalk board and pick from the available wine choices. I posted a picture of the menu so you can get an idea of what to look for. They also have small paper plates with snacks. The day I visited, they had a small plate with cheese, salami (I think) and crackers for one euro.
There were only two people working the counter and although not too friendly, kept everyone moving in and out fairly quick.
There are no tables or chairs. A few barrels are just outside the business so if available, it's a good place to set your food down. As a side note and a bit of comedy, the day I visited, there were so many people that they sprawled to the local church steps. To my amusement, a man with a hose quickly cleared this area out.
For those of you from South Florida, a great way to describe this place would be the equivalent of ordering Cuban Coffee from La Carreta, on steroids.
In summary, this was a fun and very local treat. So grateful to the person that recommended it to me.
