"Bacaro, Mile End Bow. A new addition to Roman Road, Bacaro brings delicious Italian inspired food and a charming atmosphere to an area that had been lacking exactly that.Bacaro is definitely looking to cement itself in the neighbourhood and they've done a good job of using local suppliers where possible particularly when it comes to the drinks menu - they serve Crate beers, East London Liquor Company spirits and cocktails (including the postcode-referencing E3 Bellini). When it comes to the food, the pasta is fresh, the cichetti and antipasti is delicious and morish and the puddings are intriguing. The prices are really reasonable too, so there's no hefty bill at the end."

Italian Tapas. Amazing flavours. Plenty of options and quaint location in East London. Definitely a hidden gem of Roman Road. Not a cheap eatery but not overpriced either! Would highly recommend.

We went to Bacaro for dinner on Saturday. We asked to be sat outside as it was a nice evening and they happily accommodated us. Starters were really good, we had the bread and olive oil, the calamari (especially good), the crispy parmesan with anchovies and cesar and the stuffed peppers. I liked the calamari, bread and parmesan the best. For mains, we had the tortellini with truffle and seafood stew. The tortellini were good, but a bit of a small portion for a large guy like me. The seafood was also good, but not massive either although bigger size that the tortellini. Overall very good experience, but I would definitely recommend having quite a few starters as the portion size of the mains is on the small side for my taste. Price wise, all very decently priced starters, (£4-8) a bit on the pricy side for the mains (£10-14) given the portion size and also wine by the glass a bit pricy too at c£8 a large (175ml) glass. Great design inside and very attentive and friendly service. A place to recommend on Roman Road. Will be back for sure.

The food is nice, but expensive for the small portions. For example, the gnocchi dessert works out £1/gnocchi! The image attached is a main course, which I believe was £12. Or waiter was pleasant, although we didn't really understand some of his banter, which was awkward. He was also dressed like he worked in Domino's, which wasn't in keeping with the other staff or general feel; this was particularly odd because he seemed to be more senior. The service was also rather clumsy: for six diners, we were brought four cocktail sticks for olives and four slices of bread with oil; we ordered three desserts and five spoons were laid, I think, because one person had left the table briefly. Edit: regarding Marco's reply to my review: we didn't order the smaller/starter dishes, so didn't feel any need to order multiple; if we ordered multiple mains, it would have been very expensive!

I've been living in London for 5 years and this is one of the best restaurants I've ever tried, highly recommended.

Our first visit but definitely not the last. A nice atmosphere and warm welcome was a good start. We went with the flow and asked for recommendations, resulting in some of the best Italian food I've eaten in a very long time. The crab-based pasta was simply outstanding - probably the best I've ever had. My partner had the cod - again, beautifully cooked. We were there with our two children (7 and 11) and were initially a bit surprised that the kids meal deal was £10 a head. But the quality was on another level from the usual £6.95 nuggets/sausages/fish fingers fare. Fantastic home cooked pasta and ice cream and sorbet so good I ordered one for myself. Absolutely worth the £3-4 premium. Overall I think this is a terrific new place and we will certainly be back. Thoroughly recommended!

I visited Bacaro for a late Sunday dinner with friends, and we were extremely satisfied. This place has a good atmosphere with some good music playing in the background, with the friendly service staff delivering high standards. The food was absolutely amazing, I ordered the Pork Belly with a side of Broccoli and was absolutely blown away. The presentation of the main was fantastic, and the meat was cooked to perfection with me thoroughly enjoying the last piece of the pork. I will gladly return to try more dishes!

I wanted to like this place having lived in the area for a while a place like this was always expected. However.. After a dismal salami bruchetta starter which was extremely spicy ( and I love spice) combined with extremely salty anchovies and bland artichokes.. I was feeling sorry for this nicely renovated spot. The main a veal and pork meatballs with tomato sauce was OK.. My fiance had the seafood stew which was pretty bland.. I don't usually give a place such a hard time but really this place does need to sort out the menu... The desert was a nice try..but I was ready to go by then. I did mention that I didnt like the starters, no offer of taking from the bill and charged £3 for the bread as well.. Service was OK as they were pleasant. It's a new place clearly with things to sort out.. Remember Italian food is often simple with great ingredients.. Not complex with bad ones.

Yelp
I was by myself and even though they were booked for the night the lovely hostess squeezed me in by the window. Didn't wait more than 5 minutes. Artichoke starter was very good and I had the spicy pasta for entree. Both were excellent and service was quick. Would defiantly go back again.

Yelp
Loved the food and the staff. My first time to this restaurant, came with friends who come here often. I had the Grilled polenta - porcini mushrooms, garlic & dill and the Crab tortellini - black ink pasta, crab, mascapone & tomato sauce...I was so hungry I forgot to take pictures. The food was great! Didn't have dessert, but my friends had the caramel Tris di Panna Cotta...it looked amazing, I just was too full. Next time in London, will have to make sure to come back here!

Yelp
My friends and I were walking in our neighbourhood looking for a nice place to have lunch. We passed by this newly opened restaurant called Bacaro and don't regret it! The staff is really friendly, the food is amazing and the restaurant is featuring a really cosy and trendy interior. I highly recommend this place !

Yelp
came across this place while browsing through the neighbourhood, supposedly Venetian, the staff were all Italian and one half of the owners too am told. We went on a Monday evening, quite late do quite empty. I had the nduja and polenta starter, not quite what I expected, was looking for more Nduja and less sour cream followed by lobster, which came as ravioli, supposedly freshly made, tasted OK . Had dessert of gnnochi and espresso, quite funky. Pricing is funny, mains are cheaper than the starters given bigger portions and wine is quite pricey. My other half only had a starter. The bill was almost 60 quid with service.
