Baccala in Bermondsey is Italian done with a modern wink but without going full experimental theater. The chef revisits the classics just enough to keep things interesting, without losing the soul of the originals.
Seafood gets a lot of love here — fresh, well-prepared, and the kind of dishes that remind you London can actually pull off Mediterranean vibes when it tries. The wine list is excellent, carefully chosen rather than bloated. And the tiramisu? Straight out of nonna’s kitchen — moist, rich, balanced, exactly how it should be.
The crowd skews local, mostly Londoners who know where to eat, with only a handful of tourists who’ve clearly done their homework. Reviews brought them here, and honestly, this place earns every star.
Service is friendly, not formal and very efficient.
