"Facing Matera’s picturesque cave churches in one of the most charming parts of the old town, this restaurant is housed in a complex of old caves. Despite being inspired by local traditions, the cuisine is modern and creative in style and always of the highest quality." - Michelin Inspector

This place is amazing! Not only is the restaurant located inside a cave, but the food is also fantastic. The portion sizes are generous, making it perfect for trying a variety of dishes. I personally recommend the lamb dishes. The wine selection is excellent, and the prices for both drinks and food are very reasonable. It's a good idea to make a reservation in advance for quicker and more convenient seating. The staff is excellent, and the service is incredibly fast.

Delicious lunch. Easy to make a reservation over the phone. The special bread was delicious. The lamb ravioli was unique and tasty. Octopus was cooked very well. Higher in price than many restaurants but definitely worth it.

Food was ok but for a “nice restaurant” not worth the price. Service was lovely. We were sat outside as the restaurant was booked out - we inquired a week prior to book and was already this way apparently. The whole dinner felt a bit drawn out. I got bitten by mosquitoes.

We really enjoyed our dinner. Our hotel recommended and they were spot on with traditional Matera dishes. Good service, good food, and a beautiful place. We did not have reservations and they were happy to accommodate us. Highly recommend 💕

Lovely experience. Atmosphere was wonderful. Food was delicious and beautiful. Service was good, but a bit slow. A bit pricey. Second time visiting and would visit again.

Google
Beautiful cave restaurant in Matera. We only had a couple of nights there so asked for recommendations. The food was very delicious and the vino too! The experience of (fine) dining in the cave was great.Price wise on the steep side, but worth it for a unique experience of fine dining in a cave.

Best restaurant so far on my trip around Puglia. The presentation is off the charts, and the flavours are well balanced, unique and so well done. The portions are reasonable so even though I couldn't eat every bite, two people would have a perfect amount. Started with a parmigiana flan, a cheesy creamy creation that was out of this world! Moved on to try two types of pasta, both of which were amazing, followed by the most tender veal cheek I've ever had, I didn't even need a knife. Lastly a dessert recommended by the server, a dessert version of focaccia, olive oil and salt, but as an ice cream, cake crumbs and an olive oil icing. It was such an experience, and for a reasonable price. Highly recommend this place!

Google
Good first impression, but it doesn't deliver the quality you expect. We had to return the lamb shops , which was chewy, They charged us for a disj we didn't eat because of the poor quality.. stay way. There are other places you can go for better value.

Yelp
Very quaint restaurant with excellent food. They have an extensive wine list to please anyone. We had the fava bean puree with chickory, white truffle pasta, pork in bechamel sauce and pasta with clam sauce. Every plate was excellent.

Yelp
We loved dinner here, and it was thanks to a recommendation from our hotel, which it was an easy walk from (the Sextantio Le Grotte della Civita). It is really cool since you are inside a cave, so the architecture is great and it just has a cozy feel to it. I really enjoyed the ravioli with codfish and deconstructed potato, and the chocolate dessert was delicious.
