Pros: Convenient parking lot, though I imagine it would be packed during a busier day/time. The DJ played good music at a decent volume most of the time. We were seated quickly, which we liked. The staff were friendly. The food came quickly. The jerk chicken and mac and cheese were really good, as were the plantains. Cons: The music stopped and randomly increased for a time. Our waiter had to be flagged down often, because while he seemed earnest, he was not keen on checking in on our table to make sure we had everything. The woman that checked us in did though. We ordered jerk chicken and received jerk salmon. The waiter apologized and corrected this error. The oxtail was a bit tough, and the rice seemed a bit dry. The consistency of the oxtail gravy was more akin to oil. We were charged 18% gratuity for a party of 2. I'm not sure of the law around tipping, but I prefer to have the option to tip, and often tip 20%. Being mandated feels like false advertising, since the pricing is very different when you are mandated to pay an extra fee.

My girlfriend and I went to Baccanal Junction for an early dinner. The Hostess at the door was very welcoming, The setting inside was very warm and exciting with Reggae and Soca/Calypso music playing. Our appetizers were amazing, and the Entrees were absolutely delicious. The Cocktails were excellent well. Definitely a 10/10. We will absolutely visit Baccanal Junction again!!

I had high hopes, based on all the positive reviews I'd read. My husband and I were very disappointed. Positives: Our reservation was honored and we had no wait - Friday evening at 6:30 PM in March. There is a small, free parking lot around the back of the restaurant. It was full when we arrived, so we parked on the nearby residential street. Bathrooms are clean. Bacchanal Junction has a wonderful vibe! Music was nice, and not too loud. We were sat at a two person table, not far from other customers. We had no trouble having a conversation. The staff was pleasant. Our server, Phil, was cool. He patiently answered all my questions (and I always have a lot of them). My husband really enjoyed the oxtail rasta pasta. The oxtail was LITERALLY fall off the bone tender, and the pasta was creamy and delicious. I don't eat meat, so I cannot speak about the oxtail, but the pasta pasta was great... spicy and tasty. Cons: We each ordered a Sorrel Buccaneer. It wasnt terrible but, unfortunately, it tasted nothing like sorrel. It was also very weak. We ordered a shot of Bulleit bourbon to supplement. For appetizers we ordered bacalao fish bites and salmon bites. The bacalao was VERY salty. Perhaps the fish needed to be boiled a bit longer before preparing? The salmon had no flavor. The accompanying sauces were good, so that helped. As an entree, I ordered stewed kingfish with white rice and sweet plantains. The plantains were perfect (yay!) and the rice was fine but, again, the fish had clearly not been seasoned. It had a nice texture, but seems to have simply been topped with the sauce (the sauce was not bad). If the drinks had been better, I would suggest trying Bacchanal for happy hour simply because of the cool vibe but I cannot. 18 percent gratuity is automatically added to your bill. Including tax and tip, our total was $165. Not really worth it.

Amazing service, scrumptious food! Drinks were on point! Sorrow, rum punch, passion, and the drinks were amazing! You must come for your birthday! They know how to celebrate!

Google
Caribbean food and great atmosphere. Came for Sunday brunch and was not disappointed. The staff and owner was friendly/welcoming, and their was also a Dj. The food was delicious and well seasoned, and the drinks were well made. If you're in the Bloomfield area and looking for an island vibe with good food, definitely stop by Bacchanal Junction.

Google
We visited Bacchanal Junction on a Saturday evening. We were a party of 8 celebrating a birthday. The restaurant was beautifully decorated with Caribbean flags, various paintings and palm trees. Such an island vibe! The music was perfect. The staff members were professional and friendly. We ordered drinks - they were okay. Appetizers we're just okay too. (We didn't enjoy the empanadas. It had a soup like consistency.) It took a while to receive our entrees.. that was a disappointment. We took a few bites and packed our food to go. Depending on your pallet, you may find the food underwhelming but I was happy to support a black owned business. Overall, I would visit this establishment again.. I'd just try something else on the menu.

Google
Don’t go there to Eat the Food is Trashhhh, pack them up!!!! The service and wait time was acceptable, waiter was so nice. The music was a vibe, the decor is something I can get Into after work. However I went with an appetite and was disappointed big time. The food horrible 😩 the King fish wasn’t washed with lemon and vinger no type of seasoning just a ketchup based sauce. The black rice doesn’t even taste like was like black rice , the grain of rice used it a cheap brand considering the price for the food , Smh No Ma’am. The Oxtail 😩 tasted like it been boiled in a pressure cooker not braising. The sauce for the oxtail was watery and tasteless like the parboiled Oxtail stew. The food had a funny after taste, my mixed vegetables tasted like the day prior. My rum punch was just PUNCH, had to pay for an extra shot. Overall I could see it just being an after hour lounge. Oh the Shrimp Wontons DO NOT Waste your time. I left the spot and was still Hungry. Food was trash but the service was Decent and friendly. We tipped our waitress because she really wanted us to have great dinning experience. Look all the food left behind, Trashhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. 3 days later and I’m still annoyed I dine there, I didn’t know any better

My cousins had brunch yesterday and the food and drinks were 10/10! We really enjoyed ourselves! The ambiance was great, our server was friendly and courteous, the music was on point, the food was delicious, and the drinks were tasty! We enjoyed our Red Chili Wings and Fries as an appetizer. I had Stew King Fish in creole sauce with rice and peas w/ plantains. My cousins had Rasta Pasta with Jerk Salmon…and let me tell you….we all cleaned our plates! And the portion sizes were perfect as well. They even did something special for us! Our cousin is getting married soon and they were so gracious enough to play “Let’s Get Married Remix” as they came out with sparklers and his Passion Fruit sorbet with a candle in it and hyped him up! We absolutely will be back! Thank you for a great time!

Yelp
I stopped here for a quick day-date && they had me at HELLO -- let me tell you why-- You know how you make a reservation and in the notes they ask for an occasion or special requests-- then you get to the restaurant and they never acknowledge your request? Well not here! I asked for tequila shots upon arrival and we walked in to our shots. We were off to a great start. The food was good, the drinks were on point, great service, clean and great music. This is a low maintenance place where you can become a regular, highly recommend. Enjoy!

Yelp
I won't be returning. This place is beautiful and has potential, but today's experience was disappointing. Some staff are great--Tristan is always kind and professional, and there's a female bartender (I don't know her name) who's incredibly talented. But today I dealt with a bartender named June who was rude, condescending, and acted like he didn't understand basic English. Whether it was intentional or not, it made the experience frustrating and uncomfortable. Ironically, the barback is more helpful and knowledgeable than the bartender--but he doesn't bartend. There are plenty of Caribbean spots with better energy and hospitality. I really wanted to love this place because it's local, but I'm done.

Yelp
Came to Bacchanal for the first time recently and my experience was a bit underwhelming. I love that they have a private parking lot in the back because parking in that area is a headache. We enjoyed the happy hour rum punch, it was strong ! I also loved how there was a DJ. I did not love the oxtail and Rasta pasta. I felt they could have used more seasoning.

Yelp
Food was amazing, live Dj touched every genre of music and kept the party going until last call, will definitely be back to try some more of their dishes

Yelp
I must say that this is my first time at bacchanal Junction ,we celebrated my plus one birthday party and I must see that the food was so good. It's mostly Caribbean and the portion size is so much. I have to end up taking food home.... The service was awesome and the staff was so great. The ambience is chill, relaxed and the lighting is dim, I had so much fun at this spot definitely will be going back and thanks to the DJ. The music was on fire. I'm not a dancer and I must say that I was dancing. I had so much fun thank you...

Yelp
Came here with a group of 18 people and the place was lit. The Dj was playing all the right music and the ambience was definitely giving lounge/restaurant. With us being such a big group we all had a set price of $50 which included 1 speciality drink, appetizer and an entree. I can't really rave about the food because it was mediocre. I will say I wish I remembered the name of our waiter because he was honestly the best. Wouldn't really go here again unless I am in the area and want to hear some good music and get a drink!

Yelp
Came here on a weekday evening. The place was pretty empty, maybe like 10 people. It was karaoke night as well. We ordered some juices and food. I ordered the jerk salmon and my family ordered the chickpeas and rice and peas. Everything came out pretty quickly. My only complaint was that my salmon was burnt, like burnt burnt. And the mac and cheese wasnt good. Otherwise the food was pretty ok.

Yelp
Great ambiance, parking is good. Food is great and friendly atmosphere. Staff is very nice and the proprietors are on site and very nice. Caribbean atmosphere.

Yelp
Went here on a Friday night and a time was had. Between the food (Rasta Pasta with jerk chicken) drinks, (rum punch) and the service, this was the perfect place if you want a Caribbean experience. Also the DJ was playing a lot of current and classic tunes also helped out. Everything about this experience was great and I didn't want to leave. I had such a great time.and looking forward to coming back here and trying out another night besides Friday night.

Yelp
Came to this place with a friend as a late birthday dinner. They have parking in the back. The place has a really great ambiance and the vibe is very chill with music playing. Looks super nice inside. We were greeted right away and sat quickly as it was pretty empty when we first got there. We ordered the red rum sangria. It tasted okay and was definitely strong. We ordered the wings which were absolutely delicious, finger licking good actually! We ordered Jerk Chicken with Rasta pasta and the other with rice and peas and plantains. My plate which was the Rasta pasta was definitely tasty and creamy. The sauce on the side was my fave but it is very spicy so if that isn't your thing, be very light with it. The portions are rather small when compared to the price though. Service was decent for the table. It could've been a little better in relation to coming around and asking if we needed anything else and the food did take awhile to come out. Also just note that they do charge gratuity, we were a party of 2 and it was added to our check automatically. Would like to come back and give other drinks a try. Happy hour anyone?

Yelp
Came here on a Friday night with a friend after we made reservations a couple of hours before. There was street parking and small lot parking around the corner. We were greeted and seated as soon as we came in. Our server was Paris and he was an absolute gem, full of smiles and very courteous and attentive. He suggested the house redrum sangria and we both enjoyed it very much. We ordered the calamari, it was fried too hard for my taste but the accompanying sauce was really good. I ordered the jerk chicken rasta pasta. The jerk chicken was a chicken breast and was very moist and tasty. However, not enough rasta in the pasta. It was a tad bland. My friend ordered the stew king fish with rice. She wasnt a big fan of the fish. Overall a good experience. The restaurant is a really good size with space for a private event. The ambiance is clean lines with great tropical vibes.

Yelp
Despite the surrounding area, the interior and vibes inside were immaculate. I'd come back again. The servers were attentive with great customer service. Food was served hot, well seasoned and tasted like it was cooked by a Caribbean. Around 10pm the lounge aspect kicks with the dj turning up the volume with good tunes.

Katrina S.

Yelp
Found this spot on Tik Tok and was not disappointed! I had the jerk salmon with rice and peas, my son had the oxtail Rasta pasta and both were really good. The drink, wooo! Strong to me, I had a rum punch. We left right before the DJ started. I would definitely return to try something else on the menu!

Yelp
I stopped by on a random Sunday after visiting family. It's tucked away in an interesting spot--easy to miss if you're not heading that way or know it is there. It's a cute Caribbean modern fusion bar with a great vibe. I just had a couple of cocktails and enjoyed the DJ, but I liked the space. It seems like a great spot to visit with friends or family for brunch or dinner. They also offer lots of specials and themed nights, like ladies' night and more. The service was decent, and the staff offered helpful suggestions on what to order.
google avatar

Yelp
The food, ambiance, and service was immaculate! I'd definitely come here again. I've only been here once but it will be a regular after work spot for me.

Yelp
I love Caribbean food, so definitely had to check out this local spot! Ambiance was tropical island chic and the host was able to accommodate my table as a walk in. I loved all the Caribbean music that were played. The only negative is that food did take a long time to come out. However, the food was sooo good - it was worth the wait. I ate every single last bit of my Rasta Pasta with Jerk Salmon. The Rasta Pasta dish with King Fish was also yummy, the stew almost tasted like marinara which I thought was delicious. Have already recommended it to friends so far, so 100% will be back!

Yelp
Decided to try this new restaurant to the area and it was a waste of my time and money. I ordered the sangria which was nasty and I sent it back for a margarita and that was nasty ! I assume the bartenders were new or unlicensed! When I told the manager my concern he was unbothered and gave us a lame excuse ! For food my bf ordered the jerk salmon Rasta pasta which was very salty and nasty! I ordered the veggie Rasta pasta which was average !! Again we made all our complaints to the manager and he did not care or show compassion to comp an item for the inconvenience! Our bill was over 100 dollars for pricey nasty food and drinks !! Do not spend your money here !!

Hemalatha K.

Yelp
Having mixed feelings about this place. There was a lot of hype about how the great the food was but except for the Rasta Pasta and the Chilli Wings, none of the other Menu items were good. Shark Bites was down right bland. Even the Rasta Pasta was just good but I have tasted better. Cocktails were a let down but the they were good about making us new ones. Service was very slow and one of the girls at our Table didn't get her food until we were all done with the Dinner. Again, the owners were good about comping the food but it's still not a good experience

Yelp
Surprised to find a Caribbean spot in Jersey that wasn't a hole in the wall. Music great- r&b, soca & dancehall, but still low enough that you can talk. They turned it up a few times for birthday celebrations with ice cream, sparklers, and flashlights brought to the tables. The place had a modern decor with high ceilings, caribbean flags, & tvs near the bar. You can tell it was new. The service was great! Our waiters checked in regularly, seated quickly without reservation on a Saturday, and was able to accommodate requests like separate checks, sorrel that wasn't on the menu & pepper sauce. Now the food was the only thing that needed a little improvement. I ordered stewed king fish with vegetables & a side of macaroni & cheese. The king fish was a huge plate which I loved with veggies that had a crunch, but the ketchupy sauce wasn't what I expected from stewed. Also, for $8 the side macaroni & cheese was tiny. The food came out luke warm, but I'd definitely come back since the service was so great.

Yelp
10/10 lord, this food was so good. I am said I was only i. Jersey for the weekend, but I will be back to try other things from the menu. Although they have not been open for too long, you can tell they really take pride in the food they offer. We even got a chance to speak with the owner. I can't wait to return when they have deserts added to the menu. The staff was super nice, the lighting was perfect and the decor was simple but cute.

Yelp
Sooooooo...I had a 9pm reservation. Got here at 8:55 and seated immediately. It was packed and busyyyyyyyy! The waiter eventually came, I ordered and waiting almost an hour for my food. I was hangryyyyyyyyyy. They had to start moving tables to make way for the dance floor and the owner noticed I had been waiting a while and looked overrrrrrr itttttt. So he assured me my food was coming and also offered me a drink drink on the house. So I got a lemon drop. Now I'm not even a drinker, I can count on one hand how many drinks I've had this year and those were wine!!! But that lemon drop was goodt! Eventually my food came out and was nice and hot. It was ok. I want to go back when it's less busy and try more. The Rasta pasta honestly taste less like Rasta pasta that I'm used to and more of a cheese sauce pasta. The fried salmon was ok. It had some type of ketchup type sauce under it. If you like tangy sauces you may like that... The other fish which they gave me for free I think was either shark or cod fish. It was ok. The fish was just passed crispy. But the meal was ok. I do however want to go back and try their oxtail meal. The ambiance is nice here, not too big not too small and there is a parking lot as well. It's wheelchair friendly! That's always a plus!

Yelp
I had an amazing time here celebrating my mom's 63rd bday. First time here, and i can't believe I never went here before I will be coming here more often to try different things from the menu and also experienced the vibes as we were there during karaoke night... very fun times, great food!

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this place and couldn't wait. When I arrived I parked in their lot. I walked in and was greeted and sat. The place was nice. We were served by Phil, and he was great. We started with cocktails, and I had the rum punch, which I didn't love to go to with the vodka martini, and it was good. My boyfriend got the long island iced tea. For food, I got the curry shrimp, and I didn't love that either, so I had the shrimp wontons, which were just ok. My boyfriend did enjoy his burger. All in all, I had an ok experience.
google avatar

Tenesha S.

Yelp
The apps 7/10 were good we got the chili wing, the bacaloa bite and a side of macaroni and cheese ( keep in mind this was NOT baked mac and cheese) Drink 8/10 We only got the rum punch which was really good as well but we didn't try anything else on the menu but I'm optimistic that it would have been good Entrees 3/10 We ordered Rasta Pasta one chicken and one shrimp. They were OK. Spice level for spicy is equivalent to mind however I do believe they are catering to the culture in the area. The chicken was basic and not jerked but more sweetly marinated and the shrimp was basically grilled. The 3rd order was oxtail. 0/10. The rice and peas was black rice and over oilyyyyyy and tasteless and so was the oxtail. Service 10/10 The staff was very nice and so accommodating. They allowed us to change pit seats and even took changed the undesired meal with no issue at all. They didn't show not one ounce of impatience with us which was so nice. Vibes were very good and if living in the area would probably be a nice spot to sit at the bar for apps and drinks with good music. Overall, For perspective, we are jamaican and usually frequent resturant with a bigger carribean base so this was very very different from what we are used to. It was grossly overpriced for the quality but the aesthetic and mood was very nice

Yelp
Let's starts with the great part They have a parking lot with camera The DJ was great The service was almost impeccable besides for the fact that we got our appetizer as we were ending our meal. The drinks were fabulous Now I had the Rasta pasta with shrimp and that was pretty good just small portion My gf had the shark sandwich which had so much potential but it like seasoning, the mango salsa they give you is dry and the bread dumpling was so thin and dry Now the terrible part of the meal was that we ordered wings as an appetizers they kept delaying them and we got them at the end of our meal because the waiter was so nice I decided to pack them and not return them Whyyyyy when I ate them they were burns and they put so much sauce on them for me not to realize

Yelp
Finally made it to Bacchanal! I was underwhelmed. There's parking behind the building for those concerned about parking. The ambience of the establishment is gorgeous. We were greeted by the host, a gentlemen who had to be the owner he explained a little about the establishment and where he purchased his local shark for the shark bites. We were intrigued and had to start with the shark bites. He mentioned his drink creation that included the mezcal and I was sold! The drink brought all the flavors together of the mezcal with pineapple, it was refreshing but remember mezcal is smoky. My friend ordered the pineapple kiss pisco sour and it was just not tasty at all. Our server according to the receipt her name is Nae, she was unfortunately uninterested in our table or any of the tables it Seemed because she took our drink order with appetizer and when she returned with the items she bolted so fast we couldn't even give her our entree order. We eventually had to ask for her to place the order as 15 mins had passed and still no sign of her. The shark bites were flavorless in my opinion. Usually when you try something unhinged your like it tasted like chicken. This tasted like nothing.. the flavors added were from The sauces on the plate which the green sauce was outstanding! The Rasta Pasta was full of flavor. A little kick with the creaminess a perfect combo. The chicken was cooked to perfection but now I'm not a jerk sauce pro but I've had better. The oxtail came with a side sauce but I did wish it was smothered in its own sauce to pick up on flavors nonetheless it was cooked to perfection and they're not stingy on how many they Give you.the rice and peas were rice and peas nothing out of this world. The menu is very limited.

Yelp
Let me start off by saying this place is a whole vibe. The music was on point, the drinks were reasonably priced, and the hookah was an awesome added bonus. I arrived right when the restaurant was transitioning from the dinner crowd to the late night scene. While I was expecting to sit down and enjoy a full dinner, that didn't quite happen--I actually never got to eat, which was a definite letdown. Still, I had a great time soaking in the atmosphere, and I'd definitely recommend checking it out if you're looking for a cool spot to hang out.

Yelp
Great space!! Fun, friendly and good food. Recommend for date night, friends event or family occasion

Yelp
The food and vibes are fantastic! We sat at the bar for an early dinner & drinks at 530 on a Saturday. We ordered the veggie flatbread & rasta pasta with jerk chicken. They were both so delicious. This is definitely going to be a regular spot for us.

Yelp
Came for a date night on a Saturday evening. The ambiance was cool, the place was more spacious than I thought. Our server was very attentive. Drinks and appetizers came fairly quickly. We had the sampler (w/ chili wings, yuca fries and plantains). The wings were really good! The yuca fries were surprisingly the best yuca fries I ever had! For entrees I had Rasta pasta w/ king fish and shrimp. My date had oxtails. Took a little long to come and there was not a lot of ppl. But the Rasta pasta was a 7/10 for me. A little too soupy than what I'm used to. But the fish was good. My date (who is Caribbean might I add) was not impressed by the oxtails as she felt they were not seasoned and I agreed. All in all, not a bad spot...has good vibes but the food certainly needs tweaking. Which is what a few reviews stated.

Yelp
I decided to come by here after they popped up in my timeline for their Grand Opening about a month ago. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. I made a beeline straight to the bar. Make sure to have your phone charged as there was no paper menu at the bar (QR code). The restaurant has Happy Hour from 4:00pm - 6:30pm. House shots are discounted, there are select cocktails on happy hour for $10, and appetizers $11. I started off with a shot of house white rum. Hit a little harder than I thought it would. I had the Brandy's Bourbon. Strong! It put me in the mind of a Manhattan. They do carry wines (Robert Mondavi collection), and the beers are more on the lager side (Stella, Dos Equis, Heineken, Corona, Modelo, and Guinness Stout). I had the Shark Bites from the appetizer menu. Fresh taste, fried, and I think there was a shado beni based sauce to complement the bites. I had the privilege of being served by Emily (Wed/Thur) who carried great conversation and was open to creating drinks with me during her down time. Angie who was also working that evening joined in with the fun! Of the drinks we made, I enjoyed a blueberry mint lemonade (vodka base) and a Paloma variation (tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice, splash of sorrel, topped with club soda). Both were very refreshing. Now, as far as critique: I believe the bar can do with one less chair. The chairs are so close together there is hardly any wiggle room to get in and out the seat. Music was nice and mellow and you will be able to carry conversation without yelling however, with the name "Bacchanal" I was hoping to hear some soca. Maybe next time or on a Friday/Weekend. Bathroom was clean!!! Soaps were very nice. It's just that the air dryer and paper towels are far on the opposite wall which will invite a messy floor on a busy night. I didn't see a dessert section! Maybe it will come with time. If I could offer an opinion, I think a partnership with Island Love Cakes (based out of Englewood, NJ) or Island Pops (based out of Brooklyn, NY) would be nice additions. **This is a personal critique** More Rum! I hope there will be more rums as part of the selection behind the bar. Mount Gay and Brugal are definite favorites! Hopefully something like a rum flight or rotating rums can happen. I liked that the owners were walking around and engaging with the patrons asking about their experience. On this particular visit the vibe was not bacchanal by definition but! Definitely a good relaxing time. Bob Marley greatest hits played for most of the afternoon in to the evening turning in to Afrobeats. All in all, I look forward to my next visit.

Yelp
My cousins and I came to this establishment for the second time, the first time (which was shortly after they opened) was a much better and great experience. This time around, we made a reservation for 8:30pm. We arrived 6 minutes early and did not receive our food till over an hour later. Our entrees came before our 3 appetizers which resulted in us canceling our appetizers since we came with a great appetite( we could just fill up on our food ). The food was not as tasty as last time and the rice and peas was cold. I had the Rasta Pasta before and this time around it was not as flavorful. However, this place's really good for the drinks (sorrel buccaneer). If you're coming, you will have a great experience with the drinks as opposed to the food! Good luck.

Cynthia A.

Yelp
Came here for a late brunch and cocktails. Angie was great at the bar. Food was fresh and delicious!

Yelp
Happy to support a new business! Light on the alcohol and pretty pricey but hope the menu improves over time

Yelp
Giving this place 3 stars because I hated my cocktail. The bartenders were really sweet however it was quite obvious that they weren't experienced in making various drinks. Nonetheless, the restaurant is nice and the Rasta pasta with chicken was so good! The chicken was well seasoned and plenty! I'd give this place another try for sure.

Yelp
Went with friends on a Tuesday night. The space is nice, the drinks are strong, food was okay. I had the shrimp tacos (the bread was burned which threw the taste off) and my friends both had oxtails (both plates came out looking very different). Our waitress was...off. Idk a better word, it seemed like she was not comfortable with the questions we asked and was overwhelmed (but it was pretty empty in there) maybe it was bc we came around 9 with the kitchen closing at 940 pm. I would try it again

Yelp
The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was very tasty. I also enjoyed the music and DJ addition later in the night.

Yelp
I discovered this restaurant from instagram. I realized it was fairly new, and my friend & I wanted to give it a try. They do happy hour from 4:30-6:30pm from Tuesday to Thursday. But you can only do happy hour at the bar, not in the dining area. Since they are new, their menus are limited, but I'm sure it'll expand once they get familiar with their demographic and everything. For appetizers, I tried red chili wings, the salmon bites, shark bites, and Carib calamari. My favorite apps were the wings and the shark bites. The sauce on the wings was delicious, and the shark bites reminded me of saltfish without the high sodium. It was surprisingly good. I wasn't a fan of the calamari because although the batter was good, the squid was a little tough. The happy hour cocktails I tried were the Sorrel-tini and the Bikini Bottom drop. I also had a special cocktail called Pineapple Kiss pisco sour. My favorite was the bikini bottom drop. It was refreshing and sweet. If you love sorrel & ginger beer, then you'll love the sorrel-tini. My friend also got the oxtail meal, and it had a nice smokey flavor to it. The staff were all nice. The music was good, and the place had a very laid-back and chill vibe to it. It's definitely a good option to unwind after work. There are a couple of things they need to tweak, but I'm excited to see how they grow as a business.

Yelp
So I came here with a group. The place is fairly new. Nice space inside for bar and dining. It was busy but not overly crowded. Our immediately let us know that he was the only one working the section as well as training another. Now here's where it got dicey. We ordered our drinks. They were ok but nothing grand. We then put in our entrees. Well, everyone's entree came but mine. It took awhile for me to notify our waiter because he took some time to get back to our table. He finally came and looked at me and said "You didn't get yours?" I replied "no". He asked what did I have again. I reminded him. He went to get manager who then came by, apologized and said it would be out shortly. A few minutes later, the chef brought my dish but by then my group had finished their meals and had their to go containers. I thanked the chef for the apology yet reminded the manager that I was quite disappointed since I was so hungry. I had them wrap it to go (remember my group was getting ready to leave) and asked them to have the meal comped (which they did). I may go again but it is 35mins out of my way. The food was flavorful and temp was hot when delivered.

Yelp
This place is okay. I like to support places that are black-owned. The food was just okay to me, it did not blow me away. I ate at the bar with a coworker. The vibe was great though and the music was good. It's not a place to talk because the music is really loud but that didn't bother me.

Yelp
My family & I visited this restaurant for my sister's wedding celebration yesterday. They welcomed us & allowed us to sit while the rest of our party eventually arrived. Everyone enjoyed their food & would highly recommend it to others.

Yelp
I enjoyed the food I ordered, it was tasty, my partner liked his as well. My suggestion would be- why don't the food come with veg? Eg its $30 for rice and king fish- $5 extra for veg. Aside from that- I was pleased. I also enjoyed the sorrel sangria. I would recommend

Yelp
The FOOD was delicious, SERVICE professional & personable, AMBIANCE exceptional whereas we were scheduled to stay 2 hrs. ended up staying 5 hrs. They had a Live DJ that was jamming while we talked, ate & drank. Overall, it's a spot you must fall up in & experience. I will be back for sure. Family run business which I love, admire & respect! The owner, Eric, his son Christian & and the entire work staff, was engaging, attentive & personable!!! 100%

Yelp
Wanted to support this new business. Traveled from Bergen County just to be extremely disappointed in the service and drinks. The music was the ONLY good thing about this spot. I arrived at 7:50pm (checked my Uber receipt) my husband and I went directly to the bar. We did not have reservations. I sat down as there was only 1 seat, he stood behind me. We talked about our work day, laughed, caught up and no one came to us to take our drink order. Nearly 25 minutes passed until he became impatient and yelled over the music to catch the bartenders attention. It honestly was not THAT busy for them to have missed us at the bar. The waitress took our order--simple: don julio, seltzer SPLASH of lime. We received our cocktails and YUCK!!! Bartender, a young lady with glasses and a natural type bun must have poured half the bottle of lime juice in our glasses. It was horrible. I still tried to remain positive because music was good. While I reluctantly sipped on my lime drink trying not to complain, the bartender never came back to take our food order. At this point my husband was able to get a seat. Waited another 20 minutes to get her attention. We were really here for the food! Placed our order another 25 minutes go by. No update. I asked the bartender for an update as we only had ordered our appetizers, same young lady with the glasses. Her response to me was "i mean i feel like you JUST sat down but I'll check with the kitchen" Excuseeeee meeee!!!??? That was rude and uncalled for. After another 10 minutes my husband and I decided we wanted to leave. We were NOT feeling it!!! I had planned on bringing my coworkers here for afterwork fun, but now that thought is over. I was so disappointed in the lack of customer service, nasty drinks, bartenders with attitudes and slow service. 2 poorly tasting drinks were $44 (gratuity was automatically included). I will never be back here. We ended up going to a Latin Bar/lounge in Passaic and had a ball!

Yelp
I stopped in here because a friends neighbor recommended it. Atmosphere is a bit louder than I'm used to, but no one was dancing so I don't understand why it was so loud. I just grabbed a couple drinks and an Appetizer, the shark bites were like burnt fish sticks. Don't know what the hype was about... Waiter was friendly and chill. Basically, My low star rating is for the automatic applied gratuity, this really bothers me because it shows how desperate the establishment is for money. I personally tip above the expected rate, but seeing this was disheartening.

Yelp
Waited over 45 mins for a drink because the bartender was waiting for cleaned glasses. Waited almost 2hrs for food and eventually paid for the 2 drinks and went to get sushi. We were seating at the bar, and the lady with the boho braids kept hitting my chair as she was going back and forth. Hated that and she didn't apologize. Wanted to support them because they are Black owned but that was my first and last time.

Yelp
This was my sister and I first time and we enjoyed ourselves. We went on a Friday about 6:30pm and was welcomed as soon as we stepped in. The obviance was very relaxing. The music was mixed reggae and r&b, & some 80's rap (thank you dj for that) lol. I had the Jerk Salmon with rice & peas and sis had Jerk Salmon Rasta Pasta everything was very good. We will be back.

Yelp
Everything need to improve. Waffles & chicken was awful. The waffles were frozen eggo waffles and it came with 3 chicken tenders and to make things worse the chicken was spoiled. I had the stew chicken with rice and peas & callaloo and only the callaloo was edible. Portions are very small. I would not recommend anyone who know good Caribbean food to go here, you will be very disappointed especially if you are Trinidadian!
