"Bacchus is very special indeed. Cocooned inside the Wedgewood Hotel & Spa, this elegant restaurant is the kind of place where quotidian concerns immediately disappear. Just off the intimate lobby, where stunning flower arrangements, a glittering chandelier and marble reception area exude tasteful luxury, Bacchus transports guests to a more refined era. There's even a grand piano to boot.Of course, it's not all style and no substance; Chef Montgomery Lau turns out classic but  memorable dishes. Humble tomato soup is elevated; halibut from Haida Gwaii delivers a clean, sweet flavor complemented by a cool "chopped salad" of shaved apples, anise-sweet roasted fennel, beets and cucumber. Desserts by Kraków-born Chef Chris Janik will surprise and delight." - Michelin Inspector

This beautiful restaurant truly delivers on every front — from the stunning scenery, to the warm and knowledgeable service. The wine selection is fantastic — I didn’t snap any pics this time, but every glass I tried was spot-on and thoughtfully recommended. And the food? Tasty! We even ordered a second serving of bread ha. Already looking forward to my next visit! 🍷🍽️ **edit, came again- adding more pics to this review ◡̈

We went to the winery and found out there was a bistro attached to the winery. We did not have a reservation and we were told we could have an hour and took full advantage of opportunity to eat amazing food. What a charming and wonderful experience. The wait staff are extremely trained and paid attention to all of your lunch needs. Highly recommend this restaurant. We came back to try this restaurant again and the food missed its mark in so many ways. The lobster hot dip, was awful, it was curlded and runny. we ordered muscles-and the word “simplicity” was not in this dish. The muscles were over powered with the smoked Steel Head salmon in the sauce and way too much sliced up leaks. The muscles were covered in a heavy smoked salmon and leak concoction. It would have been much better in a clean white wine and lemon sauce. We ordered the house special Halibut with clam sauce and spinach and the after thought there was a separate dish of Scollop potatoes which the sauce was curdled and the butter had separated from the cream. It was very runny and a total mess after you dug into the top. They were very tastless. I guess to no fault of the restaurant but after looking at the wine list i asked for a glass Pino Gris glass of wine and she said all we have the following. So I got my phone out and showed her what i had ordered a month ago. She then said they were sold out. If she had stated to me that by popularity that wine is all sold out i would understand, i felt so confused. As quaint this place is in a winery and beautiful vines in the back ground, the food and the wine missed its mark today.

Excellent food and nice views of the vineyard. Staff were attentive and food was spot on. Great place for a nice couples get away for lunch. Then stop at the tasting room and enjoy the large out door area with a few wines.

First time eating here and it was delicious! Everything we ordered was so tasty and I highly recommend eating here. We ordered the lobster dip to start, chicken dijionaise and the steak.

Very good service and very good food. The prices are very fair for what you get. And fantastic wine.

I took my fiance here for her birthday. The overall experience was great! If I had one critic it would be that the hostest that took out reservation could use a class on phone etiquette. When I called to make the reservation she was very cold, abrupt and sounds like she had better things to do. I also had to check that I had the right number because she answered the phone with a "Hello?". We didn't let that minor encounter of phase us much of the delightful experience of dinning here! Our waitress was amazing, courteous and attentive without being too intrusive. We sat on the patio. Highly recommend getting there early so you can get a seat out in the patio so you can enjoy the beautiful vineyard view the restaurant has to offer. The food was amazing. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. We had a big breakfast not too long before we came so we weren't too hungry. I wish we showed up hungry so we could order more food. They start you off with complimentary bread and butter. We ordered the lobster dip to start and it was amazing. I recommend saving some of your bread for the dip We shared the sablefish dish between the two of us. It was juicy tender and flaky one of the best Sable fish dishes I've ever had. It came out with a about $20 worth of saffron and the sauce complimented the fish well. The fish came with a large complimentary side dish of scalloped potatoes which was rich and aeromic. I also ordered an alcoholic coffee, I can't recall the name of the item but it had some sort of Sea foam and brittle on top. It was delectable and I would order It again in a heartbeat. We also bought a bottle of wine to share between the two of us. All in all the experience was great. The ambiance was amazing and the service was great and the food is high-end.

Baachus Bistro in Langley is a culinary gem that offers a perfect blend of great atmosphere and delightful food. From the moment you step in, the ambiance sets the tone for a memorable dining experience. To start, my wife had the French onion soup was a rich and comforting delight, with a deep, savory broth and perfectly melted cheese. I had the spinach beet salad was a refreshing palate cleanser, featuring fresh ingredients and a balanced dressing. For the main course, I had the Steelhead trout was cooked to perfection, with a tender, flaky texture and a subtle, flavorful seasoning. My wife had the Rack of Pork which was another standout, juicy and tender. The scalloped potatoes were the ideal side, creamy and decadent, pairing well with both main dishes. The meal concluded with a spectacular blueberry crumble topped with ice cream. The dessert was the perfect balance of sweet and tart, and the ice cream added a creamy finish that was utterly satisfying. Overall, Baachus Bistro excels in every aspect, from the inviting atmosphere to the exquisite dishes. It's a must-visit for anyone in Langley area looking for an exceptional dining experience.

Google
Much more than your ordinary restaurant experience. Our steak was cooked beautifully. All of the flavours really sing at Bacchus Bistro. Ambiance and service, top notch. In my opinion one of the best restaurants worldwide. Duck confit, Beef Bourguignon and their Pan-Seared Lingcod, all delicious. Come in for brunch or dinner paired of course with their amazing sangria. A gem in South Langley BC!

Yelp
Went for a wine tasting with a bunch of girlfriends and we went to the restaurant after for brunch. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. I had the special of the halibut in a saffron sauce on a bed of spinach that was phenomenal. My husband that joined us. He had the ribeye steak. The scalloped potatoes came with the steak and Halibut, they look burnt but we're excellent. A few of the girls got the omelets. There was a shrimp croissant special that looked amazing but everyone said the food was very good. The complimentary bread and whipped butter was excellent and it was hard not to eat at all. We decided to split a bottle of the chabarton pink rose which was excellent and complimented all the food. My husband did decide to go with a glass of red to go with his steak.

Yelp
Came here for lunch on a Saturday. Reservations highly recommended. Sat in the outside patio which is fully covered overhead but looking out into the vineyard. Wait staff is very attentive and nice. Shared a muscle appetizer which is delicious. The light cream sauce has pieces of salmon in it. Great for bread dipping. Ordered the quiche. While it's nice and savory, nothing spectacular. Generous portions Finished with Earl Grey creme brulee. The caramelized sugar is a little too thick for my liking but the rest is pretty yummy and creamy. Pretty big size and filling. Glass of Rose is yummy with strawberry notes.

Yelp
Aspen was incredibly helpful and was able to accommodate all my requests for the group of people I was bringing. She was very professional and kind and I wI'll definitely be coming here again. Thank you!

Yelp
A nice place (for the area) to stop for a summer luncheon at the Chaberton Estate. Food was average and a bit old-fashioned (buttery potato gratin). Request to sit out on the patio looking at the vineyard!

Yelp
On my day off, we stopped by two wineries, the second winery being Chaberton Estate Winery. While we were there, we enjoyed a delicious lunch at Bacchus Bistro! Along with a bottle of their Estate Grown Bacchus, we ordered the Bacchus Salad and Mussels to start. Entrees included the Pan-roasted Ling Cod, Duck Leg Confit, and Rib Eye Steak. The entrees came with Scallop Potatoes. Everything tasted delicious. Absolutely loved the salad and the scallop potatoes were so good. And I must say, the broth in the mussels was addicting. Overall, it was a great lunch! Definitely request to sit on the patio as you get a great view of their vineyards!

Yelp
Excellent service and a lovely dinner. Everyone enjoyed the wine and their entrees including Beef Bourguignon, Chicken Dijonnaise, Salmon and the Lamb. The scalloped potatoes were delicious, too. Desserts were also tasty. We enjoyed the espresso creme brulee, pot of chocolate, and lemon tart.

Yelp
Went for lunch with a few girlfriends. One of my friends has severe allergies and the wait staff & kitchen were very accommodating. I had the quiche and spinach salad. Tastiest quiche I've ever had - very fluffy. Paired with the Rose, it was delicious. My friend had the stuffed crepes and said they were amazing. Please note: if you go on a hot summer day, ask to sit inside the AC. It was beautiful outside but almost unbearable in the heat.

Yelp
We went to the Chaberton Winery for a quick wine-tasting experience and we decided to try the Bacchus Bistro Restaurant for lunch. We did not know what to expect as we had never been there, yet luckily we were pleasantly surprised. We tried the mussels, the rib eye steak, the asparagus and prosciutto tart and the profiteroles for dessert. Absolutely everything was AMAZING! Food was delcious, flavours were very unique and all dishes came in a great presentation. Service and ambience was pleasant and the place itself makes you want to stay for longer than planned. Overall our experience was FANTASTIC!

Yelp
Came here for a birthday dinner at the request of my Dad. The décor is out-dated, so if it's a nice day try to eat on the patio where it is much nicer. There are not a lot of gluten-free options when you don't eat meat, so I settled on a salad which meant I had room for dessert! The crème brulee was good, but not great. The wine is decent, but again not great. Everyone else seemed to thoroughly enjoy their dinner (lucky them). It is very strange that you have to go outside to go to the washroom!

Yelp
First time to this Restaurant for dinner. A dinner party of 4. The service was very acceptable & the decor pleasant. However prices are high & we found the overall quality of the food borderline acceptable with a couple of items less than satisfactory. In particular, the onion soup, lamb shank, mussels & Caesar salad. The wine was good

Yelp
Used to be much better when still owned by French-German couple before. They cooked food from the heart, now they don't. Cant understand what the fuss is all about. Very disappointing.

Yelp
Came here for a corporate Dinner Party. Nice atmosphere, food was pricey but decent. Kind of weird that you have to go outside to go to the bathroom. If you dress up to come to this fancy restaurant, you might want to dress warm and not in some flimsy frock when the temperature dips! Brrr...

Yelp
Came here for lunch with my Mom and sister as a special Easter lunch. We had a reservation at 1pm but there did not appear to be a problem finding a table. We opted to sit out on the patio, which offers a beautiful view of their vineyard. Heaters are outside and so there is no worry about being cold. I chose to try the North Bluff Pink wine, which was delicious and crisp. They offer a full variety of their wines at the bistro in both glass and bottle form. My mom had a coffee and I don't think her glass was ever less than half full. To start, my sister and I both enjoyed the french onion soup. It comes in a very large typical onion soup bowl and is covered in melted cheese. The portion is huge and it is very rich. The broth isn't too salty and has a tomato accent. The bread was a bit spongy but otherwise, I would highly recommend this! For lunch, I had the featured quiche and mixed greens. The quiche was tomato with cheddar cheese and was the fluffiest egg dish I have ever eaten. It was more like a souffle style, it was so light. The house dressing is delicious and light, and you get a wide variety of types of lettuce. My only concerns were that the lettuce pieces were huge and I had a few gritty encounters. My mom had the crepes and loved the mornay sauce in them. My sister opted for the feature strawberry dessert for her main course and we were very impressed with it. Big fluffy squares of puffed pastry and tons of strawberries. I would highly recommend this bistro for a nice, relaxing meal with an amazing view. The meal in total took us 2 1/2 hours and so it's not one to be rushed. The menu located on the website was not the same as the one they currently offer, and they do also have daily three course meals available for ~$30.

Yelp
Patio patio patio. Visited on a sunny day and enjoyed the fresh air and ambiance while we waited for our meal. Enjoyed an epically delicious lunch with a friend however we unfortunately waited over an hour for it while everyone else who was seated after us got served first...don't come expecting prompt service.

Yelp
Was a lovely place to have lunch with my sister! The Beef Bourguignon was tasty and super tender! I had a broken foot at the time and the staff were both accommodating and helpful!

Yelp
Went there for dinner. Muscles were awesome and the beef bourguignon was tender and very flavourful. If it's a warm day, definitely sit out on the patio.

Yelp
Our family came out and had dinner at the bistro. The ambiance is lovely and the food was great. It would have been a 5 star experience for sure if one person didn't get BRUTAL food poisoning and the management weren't rude about it after we told them someone got sick. Driving home we had to pull over so he could throw up. And this is within 30 min of us leaving the restaurant. So about an hour of him having the pate. None of us had ever seen someone throw up so much. He had the three course meal with pate, steak and dessert. And he mentioned his puke tasted like pate. The throwing up didn't stop there. It continued through the night. An email was sent to the bistro. They replied and said to call them. Called them. Had to speak to three people and nothing was done. A waste of time and money. When one couple spends close to $300 on a meal and one of the people gets brutal food poisoning you do something about it. NOT QUESTION IF HE WAS ACTUALLY SICK FROM THE FOOD!!!! He said it was too soon for him to get sick from the food. Newsflash: you can get food poisoning 30 min to 6 hours after a meal. Be better.

Yelp
Went to Bacchus today for a quick lunch and picked up a case of wine. The restaurant was half full on a beautiful BC day! Our waitress arrived and kinda talked without looking at us which was weird but OK? I ordered the Cheddar and Mushroom Omelette and my wife ordered the Chicken and Bacon Sandwich. My omelette was very large but completely lacked any flavour! It was egg surrounding mushrooms which were very watery! Minimal amount of cheddar! the Roast Potatoes were dry and had no flavour other than the odd hint of garlic. My wife's sandwich was dry and had no bacon and all, and dark meat which my wife does not enjoy! The side salad was fine with greens and vinaigrette! The server returned and asked how the meal was and as I started to explain i was finished she turned and walked away without caring what our answer was! Got the bill left more than half our meals on the plate knowing we did not want to take home the leftovers as we would just throw them out a few days later. We have been there several times over the last 2 years, however if this is the new standard we would be hard pressed to return!!

Glenda I.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this. The wines (dry Bacchus - white blend) and their Merlot were delicious. Unfortunately, they were not served with any elegance or care. The merlot actually arrived after our dinner arrived. How does a winery screw up wine service? The food was uninspiring, the pork rillette was a gigantic pile of grey looking meat, like it plopped out of a can and ready to serve your pet. It also wasn't tasty, but perhaps I was too far gone after the visual. Service overall was lifeless, I had to ask four times when the patio heaters were coming on. Froze! It was dark before they did. Server was genuinely disinterested in any conversation, whether we had been before, what we might be out tonight celebrating, nothing. Too bad, as its in the 'hood' but we won't be back.

Yelp
I love escargot but it was only mediocre here. The duck and lemon tart were amazing though. The food was offset by very slow service and the lights kept getting dim then bright.
google avatar

Damon N.

Yelp
little bit of a stuffy atmosphere, but holy heck the food is good. 4 stars only because I can barely afford to go, and because the atmosphere is a bit lacking. Try the duck though; amazing.

Yelp
We had my parents 55th anniversary luncheon here. Food was great service was great. Fully recommend

Julia M.

Yelp
The family and I decided to go exploring and we happen to stumble onto this place for lunch. What a find! I had the french onion soup to start. It was a larger portion than what I had anticipated, but it was very delicious! There was lots of cheese on top and the soup was just right! I ordered the Duck Leg Confit which was a bit on the dry side, but overall the dish was not bad. I was able to steal a taste of their Beef Bourguignon and Steak and I must say that they tasted better than the duck. We ordered the Chocolate Mousse at the end- it was the perfect ending. Our server was helpful and attentive. Water kept coming and everyone was so pleasant and polite. There were plenty of smiles which was great! Happy Eating!

Yelp
My son and i ate lunch at the Bistro today. We both ordered something different from the 3 course menu, had a couple glasses of wine and coffee and spent around $100. Great food, great service, wonderful ambiance on the patio on a beautiful summer afternoon. I would definitely come back and bring visitors on special occasions.

Leanne M.

Yelp
Great food, service and atmosphere. I've been many times and love love love it. Order the prawns as an appy, beef for your main and lemon tart for dessert. Portions are big so you might need to share.

C S.

Yelp
Ate here for lunch, had the special which was a half duck in an orange sauce and it was amazing, everyone at the table enjoyed their meal, my father had the lamb shank which he raved about. The open patio setting overlooking the vineyard is very nice and makes the experience that much better. Highly recommended.

Jennifer L.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I had lunch there today, the food was amazing, the service fantastic, the setting was lovely, a true gem, if you would like something out of the normal restaurant chains, highly recommend this!

Kits K.

Yelp
Phenomenal value- if you go for lunch and a tour of the grounds, it's an afternoon vacation. I am reluctant to write this review, as I fear that portions will shrink and prices will rise. Simply sublime French food (as you'll know, if you've done the research) and wines that are well worth the trek. The service could give some of the finest establishment in Vancouver's Westside a run for their money. Eat, drink, and be merrry, but above all go to Bacchus Bistro!

Yelp
My friend and I held a bridal shower here recently because of the rave reviews about this bistro. From the first conversation I had with the manager, Jana, I felt like my booking was an inconvenience to her. I booked the shower a month and a half before the date and she had mentioned that the day was not booked and that our party of 12 would be accommodated. She then said it was a $50 non-refundable booking fee...which is fine because that is what it said on the website. A few days later, when I had updated the party size to 16, Jana seemed so shocked with the number. I honestly did not think adding 4 people was a big deal. She kept saying that their restaurant was a very small restaurant and she wanted to make sure everyone would be accommodated (which made me confused because she just said a few days earlier that they didn't have any bookings). So I gave her my cc number to hold the spot. A couple days later, I noticed a $100 fee was on my statement. When I called her about that she said that was their fee; I told her that the website only said $50. Her response was, "we were supposed to change that but it hasn't been done". No apologies. well...that was that. A day before our event, i had called to ask about our seating arrangements. Jana said that she can only seat us in the restaurant because they can only accommodate a party of 12 in the patio because of its size. She then said that the restaurant is fully booked and that we would have to keep our conversations/speeches to a minimum as to not disturb the guests. fair enough. My friend who was organizing the event with me had been to a shower at the bistro before and knew of the setup. She called Jana after and asked if there is anyway we can be seated on the patio because as she can remember, the patio can easily seat 16, especially if we they had already planned to seat us in 2 tables side by side. Jana clearly stated that there is no possible way that can be done. Upon arrival to the bistro, we were greeted by the very friendly wait staff. The restaurant was empty and we were there to set up. You would think that since they had know we were a group coming for a bridal shower that they would arrange us in a way that would conducive to the event. They arranged our tables right in the middle of the restaurant. When we looked at the patio, it was very spacious and had maybe 8 tables of 4 seats set up. We were not greeted by Jana at all when we walked in, even thought the restaurant was empty and a number of the wait staff had already welcomed us (Jana was in the room when we arrived as well). My friend asked Jana once more if she can make an exception and seat us outside even if we were in 4 different tables and had our food served at different times. Jana then said that there is no way they can do that and that there is too many of us. She even said they were booked outside with all their regulars and nothing can be done and walk away. What do you know...the restaurant was not fully booked. We did not need to be seated at the centre of the restaurant. The corner would have been better- at least we were off to the side. The patio had guests there, but it looked more like a casual family lunch with young children (I highly doubt they were all regulars). I'm sorry but if you are in the service industry, you not only have to be a personable representative of the company, but you have to be accommodating (or even try to be) and friendly!! The food was delicious and the venue was beautiful. It is a shame all I can think about is the poor customer service!!!!!! (we did a wine tour and tasting after with Bryce and he was amazing!!! he tailored the tour and tasting to the groups needs and made that part of the shower memorable. He was insightful, funny and down to earth!)
