Where to Find Chicago’s Best Pizza Slices | Eater Chicago

"Bacci Pizzeria was founded in 1996 in Chicago’s Little Italy in the Near West Side. Bacci now boasts 11 locations across Chicagoland, but the Taylor Street location was the first and sits right across the street where the founder’s uncle grew up. This is a tried-and-true Chicago pizza shop, with both thin crust and classic Chicago deep dish available by the slice." - Brandon Summers-Miller

Not much to look at from the outside but definitely worth giving it a try. I've been here a few times but this is my first review. I know Chicago is home of the deep dish pizza but sometimes you just need something different and go traditional and big! We ordered A ginormous pizza for delivery (they have a special on Tuesday). The largest pie they serve, cooked size is about 30" in diameter! It barely fits through the door, so it is great fun! Ordered a second slightly smaller cheese too!

First, the air conditioning was not on or was broken on a 90+ degree day in downtown Chicago. I stopped in for a slice and was pleasantly surprised that slices were $6 on Monday. However, that's the only good thing going for it because the slice was terrible. They did warm it in the oven, but it wasn't hot, the cheese wasn't melted and there was very little sauce on the slice. Also, I don't know how to describe the crust other than it was more like (light) sauce and cheese on cardboard. Frozen Tombstone pizza is a significant upgrade, so I would suggest spending your $6 on that and you get a whole pizza that will be hot and cooked properly. The service was pretty good, no complaints.

I understand that taste is preferential; but the pizza was not at all to my liking. The crust was rigid and cardboard like. The sauce was so minimal, I couldn't get the real taste of it....it just all lacked flavor. It reminded me of your run-in-the-mill frozen pizza. I bought one "jumbo" slice of sausage. It was big, for sure, but not worth $11 big. I put a Snapple bottle in the picture for scale. The service was super nice and professional. I just can't go back because there are frozen options I prefer over this.

Amazing food, incredible service accompanied along with a comfortable and clean atmosphere. Home cut fries and huge slices as well as burgers and dogs. Washed it down with a nice iced tea, highly recommend experiencing a Chicago staple in the food community.

Super great place, an awesome price for a delicious massive slice of pizza. If you're in the area, stop in here and grab one. Trust me that's all you'll need. Enjoy

Look is Bacci super delicious pizza? Nah not really. It’s pretty average slices in terms of flavor. That’s not what you’re going here for though. You’re after that size for 9 dollars plus tax. The slices are so big that by the time you actually get to the crust you forget why you even wanted pizza. It’s like almost too big of a slice but you have to finish it because you’re not a quitter. And then you get really sleepy in a couple hours once it hits the system. The end

I love a good slice of pizza. However, I am very biased when it comes to pizza since I have never had a bad pizza. I really enjoyed the convenience of being able to get a slice and the jumbo size was perfect for me. I think the biggest issue with pizzas is the bread and the dough. It's no different for this pizza. It isn't the best, but it makes up for it with the cheese and toppings. Overall I was satisfied and had a good jumbo slice that satisfied my pizza hunger.
