The 22 Best Restaurants in Marrakech, Morocco | Eater

"After visiting the stunning Dar el Bacha Museum of Confluences, entering this on-site cafe is like taking a step back into the 1920s. Casablanca is full of Art Deco design, but examples are less common in Marrakech, and the style is rarely combined with palatial Moroccan residential architecture — all making Bacha more intriguing to explore. The coffee bar and restaurant is a must for caffeine lovers, given its extensive list of over 200 varieties of coffee, including some rare types. Pair your choice of joe with the signature orange blossom churros with melted chocolate. [$$]" - Amanda Ponzio-Mouttaki

I’ve known about Bacha Coffee for a while, so I was really looking forward to finally visiting the original site. The space is stunning-covered in intricate mosaics and filled with the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee. It’s a beautiful place to spend time, and I genuinely enjoyed being there. The coffee lived up to the hype, the food was excellent, and the staff were smart, polite, and efficient. That said, a couple of things did let the experience down. Firstly, the prices are eye-wateringly high - more in line with what you’d expect at a high-end cafe in Central London. Secondly, when waiting for your table at the Bacha cafe, the staff were unnecessarily strict. If you hadn’t bought a ticket for the museum, you weren’t allowed to sit and wait in certain parts of the courtyard. A bit ridiculous if I’m being honest. Overall, it’s a lovely cafe and worth a visit, but don’t expect too much beyond the aesthetic and atmosphere. It’s definitely tailored more for tourists, and they’re not shy about charging for the experience.

We had a wonderful experience at Bacha Coffee from start to finish. Upon arrival, the friendly reception team greeted us and communicated our estimated waiting time, which helped us decide whether to stay. Every staff member we encountered—from the baristas to the servers—was exceptional at their job, attentive and professional. The ambience is elegant yet inviting, with beautifully curated décor that makes you feel both luxurious and at home. The menu offers a great selection, and the quality of the coffee and dessert we tried was outstanding. We also purchased a packaged coffee to take home; the team helped us choose the perfect blend and explained its flavour notes in detail. A special thank-you to Tarik for his excellent service during our visit. His warm, knowledgeable approach enhanced our experience. The photos we took capture just how beautiful and inviting the space truly is! Highly recommended for anyone visiting Marrakech—Bacha Coffee is an absolute must.

I recently visited Bacha Coffee, drawn by the legendary location and the café's reputation. The setting is magnificent, very chic and elegant, with an ambiance reminiscent of an ancient Moroccan palace. The selection of coffees is impressive, and the quality is excellent. However, I was a little disappointed by the very long wait for a table, and then another wait to be served. The service sometimes lacked warmth and attentiveness. The prices are also quite high, but this is understandable given the location. In summary: a great place to try for coffee lovers, but be patient and allow plenty of time.

A unique café with stylish, upscale decor. Prices are above average, though the quality doesn’t quite surpass that of simpler places. Be prepared for a long wait – sometimes an hour or more. That said, the aesthetics are lovely, so it might be worth a one-off visit. There’s also a shop next door selling their ground coffee as souvenirs – clearly aimed at tourists and rather overpriced.

An experience my family will never forget. Amazing coffee and pastries, served beautifully by the best staff. My son says it's also the best hot chocolate he's ever had.

A great experience. Yes, you visit via entry to the museum, and there is perhaps only 30 minutes of viewing, but a lovely secluded garden with seats around the outside in which to relax, and wait. We arrived at 1.10pm, seated at 3.25pm, so you need patience. As of May 2025, 60 MAD entry to the museum. Coffee (so many cups in a pot) is only 44 MAD, in the most beautiful setting. Super-friendly staff, and the food was absolutely excellent. Without fault, just be prepared for the wait. (We were told four hours when we entered ...). Enjoy. Over 100 coffees to choose from!

Bacha Coffee was on our list of must-do things in Marrakesh, it was good however I wouldn’t go again. We went after 2pm to try and avoid queues however there was still a 90 minute wait for a table. The woman at the front desk as you arrive was quite hostile, I would recommend taking the exact change for your tickets to avoid this. There is security all over the place and they are unnecessarily strict, considering the long wait and heat, there is very limited seating for you to sit and wait if you haven’t bought a museum ticket, I’d really recommend bringing water, and a fan because you can’t leave the premises once you have your buzzer. The coffee was really good, the desserts were really good, the sandwiches were not very good- mine was burnt. And the service is not the best, you kind of get the impression that you are annoying everyone, and they are very insistent you must give a tip- in cash. Another thing, the toilets are a very long walk from the actual coffee shop and the women in there ask for money, which is a bit weird considering what you pay for the food… some of the highest prices we’ve encountered, but I guess it’s all part of the experience of being in a palace. Overall, glad I went but wouldn’t do it again.

Great experience Great coffee. I highly recommend it :) I Hope they will solve the waiting problem maybe by trying to make the reservation & payment online so people can come on the exact time instead of waiting for more than hour + no enough space where to wait or to sit.. The security guard didn't let mom to sit on a bank chair that was 2m far from the coffee store he said you have the ticket for the coffee shop only not the museum.. :/ All we wanted is to sit because it is hard for mom to wait more than 1h standing up. . It is just a suggestion sure they can find better solutions :)
