How to Spend 3 Days in Marrakesh, Morocco

"An Art Deco–style café inside a historic palace where waiters in crisp white blazers and red fezes serve coffee; it’s a stylish spot with high demand, often incurring long, hours-long waits, so arriving before 10 a.m. is recommended to secure a seat." - Asia London Palomba Asia London Palomba Asia London Palomba is a trilingual Italian writer from Rome, currently based in Boston. The 22 Best Restaurants in Marrakech, Morocco | Eater

"After visiting the stunning Dar el Bacha Museum of Confluences, entering this on-site cafe is like taking a step back into the 1920s. Casablanca is full of Art Deco design, but examples are less common in Marrakech, and the style is rarely combined with palatial Moroccan residential architecture — all making Bacha more intriguing to explore. The coffee bar and restaurant is a must for caffeine lovers, given its extensive list of over 200 varieties of coffee, including some rare types. Pair your choice of joe with the signature orange blossom churros with melted chocolate. [$$]" - Amanda Ponzio-Mouttaki

I’ve known about Bacha Coffee for a while, so I was really looking forward to finally visiting the original site. The space is stunning-covered in intricate mosaics and filled with the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee. It’s a beautiful place to spend time, and I genuinely enjoyed being there. The coffee lived up to the hype, the food was excellent, and the staff were smart, polite, and efficient. That said, a couple of things did let the experience down. Firstly, the prices are eye-wateringly high - more in line with what you’d expect at a high-end cafe in Central London. Secondly, when waiting for your table at the Bacha cafe, the staff were unnecessarily strict. If you hadn’t bought a ticket for the museum, you weren’t allowed to sit and wait in certain parts of the courtyard. A bit ridiculous if I’m being honest. Overall, it’s a lovely cafe and worth a visit, but don’t expect too much beyond the aesthetic and atmosphere. It’s definitely tailored more for tourists, and they’re not shy about charging for the experience.

The café itself is incredibly beautiful, with coffee, lunch, and cakes that are truly delicious. The sunlight creates a stunning play of light within the architecture, adding to the charm of the place. I would most certainly recommend a visit. However, be prepared for very long queues and waiting times, as unfortunately there is no possibility to reserve a table

This is by no means a hidden gem in Marrakesh and I can see why. The coffee house is absolutely beautiful and the staff are wonderful. The coffee itself was the best we had in Morocco. The eggs, however, were disappointing, so I’d recommend ordering something else if you’re coming here for food. Overall, it’s definitely a spot worth visiting, though I'd recommed coming early in the morning or towards the evening to avoid a line. And if you’re a student, bring your student ID (admission is free on Wednesdays).

A great experience. Yes, you visit via entry to the museum, and there is perhaps only 30 minutes of viewing, but a lovely secluded garden with seats around the outside in which to relax, and wait. We arrived at 1.10pm, seated at 3.25pm, so you need patience. As of May 2025, 60 MAD entry to the museum. Coffee (so many cups in a pot) is only 44 MAD, in the most beautiful setting. Super-friendly staff, and the food was absolutely excellent. Without fault, just be prepared for the wait. (We were told four hours when we entered ...). Enjoy. Over 100 coffees to choose from!

✨ I was literally blown away by Bacha Coffee, it is by far the most gorgeous, hospitable coffee house I have ever been to in the world. From the incredible taste of the coffee, to the rich hot chocolate, the fresh cream, and the thoughtful attentiveness of the staff, every detail was exceptional. My daughter and I had such a wonderful experience together here. Absolutely worth the wait!

We had a wonderful experience at Bacha Coffee from start to finish. Upon arrival, the friendly reception team greeted us and communicated our estimated waiting time, which helped us decide whether to stay. Every staff member we encountered—from the baristas to the servers—was exceptional at their job, attentive and professional. The ambience is elegant yet inviting, with beautifully curated décor that makes you feel both luxurious and at home. The menu offers a great selection, and the quality of the coffee and dessert we tried was outstanding. We also purchased a packaged coffee to take home; the team helped us choose the perfect blend and explained its flavour notes in detail. A special thank-you to Tarik for his excellent service during our visit. His warm, knowledgeable approach enhanced our experience. The photos we took capture just how beautiful and inviting the space truly is! Highly recommended for anyone visiting Marrakech—Bacha Coffee is an absolute must.

Anyone who is giving Bacha Coffee a negative rating simply did not have correct expectations so let me help you out. My wife and I arrived at 9:45am on a Wednesday morning in late April. We waited for the doors to open and again another 20 minutes in line. We got our ticket around 10:30 after which you go into the museum/cafe and reserve your spot for coffee which we were told was a 2-hour wait. We were told to come back in 45mins for our buzzer. We came back at 11:10, got our buzzer after 5minutes and waited until around 11:45am. So all-in-all we waited 2 hours. The coffee was amazing, we never felt rushed by the service and in fact had to wave them down to pay. If you have a morning or afternoon and don’t mind waiting with a good book for 2ish hours, this is a great experience. If you don’t like waiting, skip this experience. When you read the negative reviews they are because people didn’t like waiting. That’s all. My last note is that this was the most BEAUTIFUL location we saw in the entire city after visiting all the other “top” sites which force you to pay $10 each person. With that in mind, this is a fantastic deal.

I recently visited Bacha Coffee, drawn by the legendary location and the café's reputation. The setting is magnificent, very chic and elegant, with an ambiance reminiscent of an ancient Moroccan palace. The selection of coffees is impressive, and the quality is excellent. However, I was a little disappointed by the very long wait for a table, and then another wait to be served. The service sometimes lacked warmth and attentiveness. The prices are also quite high, but this is understandable given the location. In summary: a great place to try for coffee lovers, but be patient and allow plenty of time.
