How to Spend 3 Days in Marrakesh, Morocco

"An Art Deco–style café inside a historic palace where waiters in crisp white blazers and red fezes serve coffee; it’s a stylish spot with high demand, often incurring long, hours-long waits, so arriving before 10 a.m. is recommended to secure a seat." - Asia London Palomba Asia London Palomba Asia London Palomba is a trilingual Italian writer from Rome, currently based in Boston. The 22 Best Restaurants in Marrakech, Morocco | Eater

"After visiting the stunning Dar el Bacha Museum of Confluences, entering this on-site cafe is like taking a step back into the 1920s. Casablanca is full of Art Deco design, but examples are less common in Marrakech, and the style is rarely combined with palatial Moroccan residential architecture — all making Bacha more intriguing to explore. The coffee bar and restaurant is a must for caffeine lovers, given its extensive list of over 200 varieties of coffee, including some rare types. Pair your choice of joe with the signature orange blossom churros with melted chocolate. [$$]" - Amanda Ponzio-Mouttaki

An excellent experience from start to finish. The service was warm, attentive, and very professional. We arrived half an hour before the café opened and were seated straight away with no waiting time, which was a great first impression. The coffee quality is outstanding—rich, smooth, and clearly made with real care and expertise. The interior is stunning, elegant and peaceful, with beautiful details that make it feel truly special. While it’s on the higher end price-wise, it offers great value for money considering the quality of the coffee, the level of service, and the luxurious setting. You’re paying for a full experience, not just a drink. Definitely worth visiting and highly recommended.

I truly enjoyed Bacha and can confirm that it’s worth the hype. Of course it’s imperative to arrive well before the opening time for a chance to be able to sit. I loved that we were not rushed at all, despite the coffee itself being small. Food was delicious. Our eggs with truffle had truffle (seems a given but it’s clearly not). My eggs morette were insane. Croissants were on the smaller side but so flavourful and well proofed. Some waiters were friendlier than others, or smiled more - but I am sure that they are so used to turists… The museum is also very appealing, with traditional Moroccan arti facts. Perhaps the only thing one wouldn’t expect in such a place is a mixed toilet. Other than that, make your research in order to avoid disappointment. I’ve heard people saying “this queue for a coffee”, probably unaware of coffee culture. They also have a small and a big shop - their brand is so nice! On the price side: of course these are premium prices - still cheaper than Northern Europe - but the food quality was totally worth it.

If going here is a must for you, I highly recommend reserving a table in advance — otherwise be prepared for a wait of up to 3 hours. The place is very small, which explains the long wait times. That said, this coffee shop is perfect for true coffee lovers. If you’re a coffee addict or someone who genuinely appreciates high-quality coffee, you’ll love it. They offer beans from many different parts of the world, making the coffee experience really special and well curated. They do have food as well, but it took longer than expected. Personally, next time I’d come only for the coffee, which is clearly the star here. Small space, long wait — but great coffee if that’s what you’re coming for. ☕✨

i understand everyone’s frustration with time and waiting. however this is a non-rushed experience. once u go in people take their TIME admiring and looking over the menu. i mean there’s 200 coffee options !! the actual service is pretty fast and the food/drinks come out even faster. my husband and i were the first ones in line 9am and first seated 10am. we were in there for an hour and a half. super pleasant experience overall, we had a flight to catch so we didn’t process the museum but the courtyard of pomegranates and oranges was soooo beautiful. everything was yummy, coffee great! the raspberry croissant was delicious! truffle omelet was rich and creamy.

We visited Bacha Coffee Marrakech twice, the first day we found a 3-hour wait, so we returned the next morning at 9 AM, an hour before opening. Even then, there was already a short queue! Once the doors opened at 10 AM, everyone rushes in to buy the entry tickets: 10 MAD for the café only or 60 MAD including the museum. We got our tickets and headed inside, where there’s another short wait before entering the café itself. From that point on, the experience was flawless. The staff offer excellent service from table allocation (many tables inside courtyard) to sharing the history of Bacha Coffee and helping you choose from their huge coffee menu. We ordered two coffees and some food, and were free to walk around inside to take photos. We were not rushed even when there were many people waiting outside. After finishing, we explored the space a bit more and admired the beautiful architecture. The atmosphere is amazing, the coffee selection is incredible, and overall it’s definitely worth the early start and the wait. Highly recommend for coffee lovers visiting Marrakech!

I waited 3.4 hours to get in the Cafe. But it was the best cafe I have ever been in the world. Its in the beautiful Moroccan building with inside garden. Coffee was the best I have ever tired. Foods was also very nice with perfect service. Its worth to wait.

This place is magical. It starts with walking through the stunning traditional Moroccan architecture of the early 19s, lifting up you spirit, and relaxing your mind with the beautiful colors of the Moroccan cultural heritage, leading your soul to the exceptional coffee shop. The menu has a variety of all over the world coffee selection, delicious pastries and other brunch options. The servers take the time to explain the origin of the coffees and their taste, making it easy to find the perfect match for each picky coffee lover like me. The service was excellent but what made our experience even better was the exceptional welcoming of Mehdi (the manager) who made sure that we all have a great time. He was discretely supervising the tables paying attention to each and every detail so everyone could enjoy their time. Thank you Mehdi for attention you gave to my kid, he was really happy. Thank you Dar Bacha for this unforgettable moment and for your great service and personnel, and of course for offering the best coffee we’ve ever had. Definitely recommend this place at least once in a lifetime.

After being seated, we were handed 2 menus each. One for the beverages and the other for food. With over 200 coffees to choose from, we were really spoilt for choice. Eventually, we settled on the Birthday Wish Coffee and Eternal Marrakech Coffee (44MAD per pot) as well as the mille feuille (75) and pistachio/chocolate coffee cake (55). Both coffees were superb with hints of caramel for the Birthday Wish and spice for the Eternal Marrakech coffee. The whipped cream with shaved vanilla, added a fuller body. We also enjoyed both the cakes and mille feuille with pistachio. Love the traditional golden coffee pots with the long spouts which added to the Bacha Coffee experience...
