Bacira

"A successful business that extols the virtues of friendship, hard work and, above all, a love for cooking. These three pillars underpin this restaurant run with great dedication by the three owner-chefs, Carlos Langreo, Vicente de la Red and Gabriel Zapata, each of whom specialises in a different type of cuisine (traditional Mediterranean, Japanese and Nikkei) but who are receptive to new trends and inclined towards fusion cooking. The atmosphere here is both welcoming and informal with a vintage decor that includes striking wrought-iron columns that extend from the floor to the ceiling." - Michelin Inspector

It was okay. Nothing extraordinary. Definitely not worth the price. Would not go again.

Recommend: No, perhaps it was an off night. A dinner for two for a combined 150+ Euros this is not worth it. Under 100 Euro this would be 4 star, under 75 Euro this would be 5. Food: interesting. Creative dishes but some miss the mark on flavor and texture. The pacing of the tasting menu is confusing and it feels random and not cohesive. Instagram friendly plating. Service: poor, multiple tables at an 8:30 seating hadn’t even been asked their order while other tables were well into their second and third courses Atmosphere: good, nice buzz from the crowd and the upstairs is well designed. Do not allow yourself to be seated downstairs , it’s got none of the charm and would ruin the experience. Overall: average tasting menu experience but not worth the long tasting menu and there are plenty of other Madrid restaurants to try if you are here for just a short visit.

Photos don't make justice to the flavors in each plate and drink we had. The service was exceptional and the atmosphere it is perfect for any kind of gathering. Highly recommended !!! Don’t miss out on the Tiradito de dorado.

Unacceptable ! A friend and I ordered two dishes and the waiter said one of the dishes was three raviolis but he would make 4 so that we could share 2 And 2. When the bill came he had added 10 euros the orginal price ! I thought it was a mistake, but no he said since he had added quantity so "we should pay more." We never asked for that, he offered, and then he charged us 10 euros more for one ravioli????!!! He was also rude and not professional or apologetic at all. Never go there!

Absolutely disappointing experience from a supposed Michelin Guide restaurant. I went in with a group of 5 and we were seated downstairs. We were interested in the tasting menu but had a couple of questions for our waitress - huge mistake. After telling us she speaks English, she switches to Spanish when asked what was included in the tasting menu and after using what little Spanish (4 years that held us over apparently everywhere but here) we knew she said she wasn't sure what was included and tells us she will bring someone who knows. Fine. Except for the fact that 25 minutes goes by and nobody comes back. A second waitress comes down to take another tables orders and we flag her to ask again the simple question of what was included in the tasting menu. Again, she did not know and said someone would come. Whether they feigned ignorance or actually did not know what was included on their own menus, I do not know but regardless it's ridiculous. After another 15 minutes, I go upstairs to find the one waiter who speaks English to tell him we have been waiting for the last 40 minutes. He tells us it is very busy and he is sorry, which in my opinion is no excuse, and then proceeds to take our questions upstairs to which I tell him to please come downstairs to our table as it should be done. 5 minutes later, finally he comes down. One of my friends is allergic to nuts and sesame oil and when asked if there was anything he could eat, the waiter responds with "impossible" without even asking the chef. He then wants to take the rest 4 of our orders and is surprised when we say that we all would like to eat something. I have never been to a restaurant where they can't accommodate a simple request like using a different oil. To top it all off, the waiter would rather us leave than work with my friend to find a solution for his diet. So after 45 minutes of waiting to ask two questions, we left. Terrible service. Make sure your staff knows whats on their own menus.

Way too much sauce on both dishes I ordered. Friendly enough staff. Probably not worth the price.

This is a great fusion concept with amazing food and cocktails. We tried a variety: tuna tartar, salmon Nigri, meatballs (which are shredded on the inside and soooooo good), and shrimp Rossetto, a perfect amount for 2.

Yelp
An affordable Michelin-starred restaurant in Madrid! Bacira, like many Spanish restaurants, has a menú del día for weekday lunches, and this one is easily one of my favorite dining experiences. Any menu would usually offer 2-4 options each of beverage (wine), starter, main meal, and dessert. Everything was meticulously presented from start to finish. The homemade ceviche was tart yet subtly sweet. The starter was the only mild disappointment since it was only a crab-and-avocado sushi. My main dish of salmon with pureed potatoes was delightful. The salmon was cooked grilled to medium rare, extremely tender with every bite. I cleaned the plate clean with my bread to soak up every bit of the pureed potato sauce. The dessert was a lemon tart uniquely made with meringue shards on top and dusted with powdered sugar. The restaurant itself is Spanish-Asian fusion with rustic wooden chairs and industrial lighting (see photos). Service was friendly and efficient, and my waitress was patient with me as I placed my order in middle school-level Spanish. I would absolutely return here the next time I'm in Madrid to catch another meal!

Yelp
MUST HAVE THE FRESH TUNA AND ALSO THE RISOTTO!!! Everything we ate here was top notch. The flavors were all unlike anything I've ever ate. The atmosphere was upscale and modern. The waiters were very accommodating. One of the best meals I've had in Madrid.

Yelp
Alert alert, this is a legitimate destination restaurant if you're in Madrid. I honestly can't remember the last meal I had at this price point -- $115 US for a very filling meal and a quality bottle of wine -- that featured such exceptional and creative cooking. Amuse bouche of vichyssoise and shrimp chips is a delight. Tuna tartar showcases wafers of tender purple fish and stunning sauces. Risotto will blow your mind with its explosion of ocean flavors and its gorgeous grilled prawn. The oxtail meatballs will collapse like little soufflés. I could go on, but won't -- Bacira is a stunner, and not to be missed.

Yelp
Walked in here for the menu del dia on a Friday afternoon. We got lucky and got seated at a bar as all other table seats were fully booked(at least 2 weeks in advance). For 14 Euros all the food we got were solid; we especially liked our rosemary ice-cream, almond cake and tarta de queso! Overall nothing was incredible, but they were good. Very friendly service.

Yelp
This restaurant is normally booked so we were delighted when we were able to get an 8:00 table on a Sunday night. Everything was really wonderful. I've had maybe 30 different ceviches in Madrid and this is one of the best I've had. We also had three different types of Nigiris, all delicious, with beautiful presentation. Next, we ordered three oysters, which was a huge mistake because we definitely needed more. It's a traditional oyster but it has a sauce that's very good. Lastly we had the tuna tartar, which was not my favorite personally but was very fresh and unique. I would definitely return and I would also recommend if you are in the city.
