Stopped in on a Friday night. What a fun place! We enjoyed listening to the Cheektones and watching the funny animal videos on the large TV screen. Did not order food but had drinks. We will be back!

Jeff H.

Google
OMG. So much fun. Haley, who helped us on our first visit, was so warm and friendly and in no time made us feel like locals. Looking forward to returning and enjoying the community and the music.

Bobby S.

Google
We went in during a band call Mom and it was very loud with people dancing everywhere could barely walk through. Turned around and walked out not really our scene. Probably a cool place when it's not loud with a lot of people. Looks like an all right spot to have a drink if it were quiet.

Brian R.

Google
Live music, awesome wines from everywhere including Arizona wines (excellent!), plus a decent beer tap list that also has some local options. Plus great food and appetizers. Exceptional experience, highly recommended.

Cassidy L.

Google
Awesome atmosphere, great wine/beer selection. There was live music when we came in and it was pretty busy. We got our drinks fast and found a table to sit at. Definitely coming back to eat here next time we are in town because their menu is 🔥🔥

Melanie P.

Google
Wonderful atmosphere great service and fantastic music!!! @KylePhelan ❤️😽🎶 Check him out on YouTube, Instagram or Spotify!

For a small town, Prescott certainly is teeming with great bars, cafés and restaurants. This warm & welcoming wine bar is tucked away in the alley behind Whiskey Row. We stopped in for a glass after having taken lunch at Colt on the corner. Our bartender was happy to tell us about the history of the place and make recommendations for other restaurants, bars and things to do. She was playing a 70s classic rock playlist that perfectly fit the mood — I recall hearing “Goin’ Back” by Neil Young — mellow and contented. We were only here for the weekend, but on a future visit, I would definitely be "Goin' Back" to the alley!

Google
What a cute place this was to visit. The live music was nice and the food and wine were very good. The major thing lacking was the customer service. It was very disappointing. I would love to give them another opportunity to redeem themselves and get a 5 star rating as we were happy otherwise.

Yelp
Great music on Sunday afternoon with APS band and Mary Kelley! Ordered a margarita pizza from Lemonceillo and it was the bomb. Like when we were in Italy!
google avatar

Maria K.

Yelp
Such a cute place! Loved the colorful holiday lights throughout. The brick walls and exposed pipes made for a very cool look. Service was prompt and friendly. The Native American blues musician from Tucson was incredible! Great selection of wine. I enjoyed a nice California red blend. It was a fantastic start to the evening. No food, you can order from the Italian place next door. A charcuterie board or some cheese and crackers would have been nice.

Yelp
We stopped by Back Alley Winebar on Whiskey Row Alley in Prescott and had a lovely experience. I tried the Taste of 3 wine flight for $14. The atmosphere during the day was laid-back and enjoyable, though I've heard it gets lively in the evenings with live music--a reason to come back! The location tucked into the alley gives it a unique charm, and it seems like a fantastic spot for both wine lovers and those just looking for a fun night out. We would definitely visit again!

Dianne E.

Yelp
I have enjoyed this Wine bar, and the local musicians who have played there. The service is OK. Food comes from elsewhere. The drinks are good.
google avatar

Rachel C.

Yelp
This place has become a regular part of any visit to Prescott. They put a lot of effort into the holiday lights which makes it very festive. In addition to an EXTENSIVE wine and cider selection, you can also order food which comes from BackAlley cheese shop across the street. We get the cheese flight every time! Service is great and very welcoming.

Ryanne D.

Yelp
Updated Came again and experience was fantastic. Service was friendly and caring. We shared a turkey sandwich that was delicious. The wine was great and the atmosphere was very relaxing, which we needed on that day!

Diana Z.

Yelp
Found this cute wine bar today while visiting Prescott. It's tucked away and had such a cozy vibe. Great selection of wines, attentive bartender & live music! I would be a regular if I lived in the area.
google avatar

Julia L.

Yelp
Very cool place!! Lots to look at in this place! Table seating as well as bar seating and some couch area with Chairs. We came in and tried a couple different glasses of wine. We recognize some of the names of the wines that they carry, including from wineries! We didn't eat, but saw some other people having some flatbread. It looked fantastic! We will be back when we can stop and say a bit longer and try the food.
google avatar

Lisa M.

Yelp
So many wines to choose from! Live music and a dance floor to enjoy yourself. The back alley cheese shop will deliver if you get hungry! We had a great time!
google avatar

Claudia C.

Yelp
The wine bar is cosy. The selection is terrific. No food but they can order food from next door. My group has bee there several times and we've been charmed.
google avatar

Yelp
Cliques, bad attitudes, gross floors and all around jerks. I wouldn't recommend this place to if they paid me. You know when you walk into a place and ya get that judgy, we don't want you here vibe? Well that's this place in spades. If you do appreciate rudeness, bully type atmosphers (not judging) then this is definitely for you. Glad to know the best place in Prescott to avoid personally. That's what you call invaluable information.

Paul G.

Yelp
Terrible service. Staff is very rude. Will never return. They need to reorganize the way they handle sales and service with a packed house.
google avatar

Stacy D.

Yelp
2nd time here and it was great as usual. This is the place you go for your 'cheese fix'
google avatar

Chris E.

Yelp
Great little place. Nice wine and beer selection. The music on the night we were there was awesome. Definitely recommend this place for a laidback easy feeling atmosphere to enjoy with family and friends. We will definitely go back next time in Prescott
google avatar

Kelly S.

Yelp
Cute little place tucked in the side of an alley- but not in a creepy way. Seems to be woman owned, which I'm all for. Very friendly service! They have tables and a bar to sit at, clean restrooms. Live music can get pretty loud because the place is kinda small, but it's a fun atmosphere. When the music is not going, they have trivial pursuit at each table. Wine flights are actually a good price here, not an overpriced gimmick. The equivalent in size and price to a regular wine glass. Wine options are all good, no cheap stuff but all reasonably priced. They do have a charcuterie board for $15 but otherwise no food, you can bring in your own though Will definitely return! Highly recommend
google avatar

Yelp
Fun place to drink and listen to music. Prices are reasonable. Live band was fun. The service was good. Small dancing area we will be back to try more drinks.
google avatar

Bette B.

Yelp
Love the ambiance, all the music is very fun!! Wines not so much, limited bar food menu, but a MUST when knocking around town.
google avatar

P E.

Yelp
Excellent service, fun crowd and good music. A very fun evening. I just wish they served whiskey too. I had a wonderful time there.
google avatar

Jack D.

Yelp
I love it here! I don't drink wine, but they have Granite Mountain blond and add a splash of Blueberry Spaceship mead, delicious!! Very cute place, seen a couple great musicians here. One of my new favs to hang out in in Prescott. Great of course for wine lovers and looks like sweet selection too. Very chill place to grab a drink, love their cowboy sofa, I would totally buy it if they ever want to
google avatar

Theresa M.

Yelp
Great place to come grab a drink. Very cozy wine bar. Live music is always fantastic.

Yelp
Everything about Back Alley Wine Bar has been amazing!!! I can count on two hands how many times I've been there and not once have I had a bad experience. The staff are very professional, kind, helpful, and knowledgeable about their wine selections. I like the fact that I was able to experience a few samples on some of their wines, with no hesitation from our waitress. This is one of my Hideaway places that I would go to very cozy comfortable and there's always live music. And they are connected to a cheese store.
google avatar

Katy R.

Yelp
Popped in after work with coworkers for pre dinner drinks. I was excited to see they have wine flights and asked the bartender to pick them all for me. Ordered a charcuterie board to snack and enjoyed relaxing with friends.
google avatar

Kris L.

Yelp
The service and wine selection is great and they have live music almost every night. We came on a Tuesday for open mic night and heard an acoustic guitarist who was very good and provided a nice backdrop for chatting with new friends. My husband tried a flight of 3 red wines and I had a single glass of white which was excellent and served at the perfect temperature. They only have one food item - a charcuterie board, but you can bring food in, and on Thursdays pizza can be ordered from Limoncello's next door.

Yelp
Located behind the alley off of Montezuma Street in Prescott, AZ. Really neat wine bar that is just off of "Whiskey Row". We got there just in time to brush off the snow and have some tastings. We went with 2 flights, one was a Arizona flight and the other was a mix of red, whites and rose! Amazing customer service, she was nice and friendly. When you think of Prescott this wine bar had a very "western" ambiance. Really nothing like having some wine tastings when its snowing! We will be back next time we make a road trip to Prescott! Cheers!
google avatar

Kurt F.

Yelp
Love this place. Kind of place that if your doctor didn't tell you not to you could go every night. Friendly staff and a comfortable, cozy space. They have about 16 wine choices and another 8 or so beer/mead choices. Plenty of good options. They have live music Thursday through Sunday. They have good specials early in the week too. Just a great casual place to enjoy some wine
google avatar

Michael P.

Yelp
an intimate setting with a personable, knowledgeable, friendly sommelier (humbly calls himself a bartender) and an excellent selection of very tasty fruits of the vine! Totally recommended.
google avatar

Yelp
Met friends at Back Alley Wine Bar at 5:30pm on April 14. They had a couple of musicians/singers playing so loud that we could not have conversation. Seriously we could not hear each other even when yelling up close. We really wanted to stay and experience some food from the Back Alley Cheese Bar, but we left after one drink because it was so incredibly loud. We were very disappointed. It is a small space. They should stop the loud twangy music completely

Yelp
Parked my car in the garage where I was staying while in town, walked around a bit, and what do I see but a place that advertises wine and brush, which to me meant painting while drinking wine, something I had done prior with gal pals and was a ton of fun. I walked into a tiny place and looked around for the painters. Uhmmm. Nowhere to be seen. People looked at me as I came in; seemed friendly, so I sat down at the bar. Clay was the bartender/server/all around guy. I talked to some people on my right and some others on my left. Clay asked what I liked, and I told him. He suggested a sample of one of their Zinfandels. Smart bartender. Good choice. We all chatted, Clay and the people on my left and right and even some people sitting at a high top behind me. Being Asian, I am a bit on the leery side going into a bar in a "small town." Sorry. Experience reigns. But everyone was nice and friendly. When I go back to Prescott, this is definitely a place I'd visit. I don't know if Clay will still be there, but the owner(s) would be wise to keep either him or someone like him. And I definitely would want to check out the wine and brush, which was actually next door. Clay said I could probably get a bottle of wine at his place and drink it at the shop next door.

Yelp
Fun spot on a Friday evening! Live music and staff was knowledgeable about drink recommendations. A little pricey, but so is everything in Arizona these days.

Dawn R.

Yelp
We stopped here after shopping for a wine flight. The cat videos were a plus. Frankie was knowledgeable and fun. We also had the truffle Mac and cheese. Best Mac and cheese we ever had. We will be back for the live bands.
google avatar

Tracy D.

Yelp
Fun place to stop for a good glass of wine. They serve several Arizona wines and also offer beer on tap for those of you who don't prefer wine. Social distancing was reinforced. Played country music while we were there. They have games available to play while drinking: Trivia Pursuit and others.
google avatar

Veronica O.

Yelp
Love the amount of wines to try, great charcuterie board too! Definitely worth a try!
google avatar

Marla L.

Yelp
I love this place! I'm a fan of the "Devils Juice" (Blueberry Mead?) that I love!! The vibe is laid back, super friendly staff & the owner is extremely knowledgeable on all wines that the BAWB serves! If they don't have it, just ask and Sherri will find it for you! The live music is a plus!!! Whenever I am In Prescott it's a must stop!

Judi B.

Yelp
We love the back alley wine bar. Great live music almost nightly -and no cover charge! They also offer beer for those who aren't in the wine scene.

Leslie A.

Yelp
For a crazy busy night (Court House Christmas lighting) the staff kicked into high gear with great service, unique and tasty food offerings and the wine was delicious.

Yelp
FUN spot! Red, white, rosé, IPA. what could be better? How about top-notch, live music! All in a historic, rustic-chic building. Did I mention that the owner and staff are the best people in all of Arizona? Attentive, fun, and your glass will never go empty! Don't miss this place! Cheers to #BAWB

Yelp
Found this little gem through a Yelp search. Pleasant and tucked away just half block west of downtown. The sommelier was friendly, there was a guitar jam session of locals playing 70s songs (Crosby Stills Nash Young!) and we were sorry we couldn't stay for longer. Will remember this place when we visit again.

Mark J.

Yelp
Awesome place. Favorite in all of Prescott. Great selection and they now serve food. Must visit

Davd W.

Yelp
Great selection of wine. I like to try things I haven't had before and these people were able to recommend a couple of new varieties that I loved. Friendly and attractive bar staff will bring me back.

Yelp
2nd time at this place. 1st time with my daughter service was slow, but no big deal. Did notice that a lot of the help and customers knew each other and those customers got most of the attention, but okay. Place has a cool vibe, good live music. So today, I go in by myself. Service is good at first, get a beer. Then, I sit there for 30 minutes, my glass is empty and want another beer but ignored as waitress takes care of other tables and ignores me. I think, okay she'll find me. Same deal as 1st time, a lot of the people in here and the help seem to know each other. Another 45 minutes, completely ignored. Could have been a fly on the wall, but the fly might have been served first. Finally, I manage to flag down a different waitress from the one that served me. Advise her I want to leave, please bring my tab for one beer. She tells me she will figure it out. About 5 minutes later, she comes back to ask if I gave them a credit card (I did). She says she knows which one it is. I expect her back in a minute or two, but this drags on for another 5+ minutes. She finally returns with my card and announces "here you go", saying nothing about this crazy lousy service and extended delay. Felt totally disrespected, like they didn't want me there. Oh, and they don't tell you, but they charge an extra fee for using a credit card. Not the 2%-3% that it actually costs them, but more than 20% added to my tab. I owned a local business for the past 10 years. I never charged my customers extra for paying by credit card. It is the 21st century last I checked. I do recognize some small businesses impose a credit card fee, but not excessive and most do let you know before charging. Not acceptable. Can you guess I'm angry? To the owner: You've got a cool business, but figure this out, no excuse for service like this. Treat every customer with respect.

Jody H.

Yelp
Wonderful night in this cosy wine bar. I had the flight and then a glass of cab. My companion had IPA. Yup, they have beer, too Of course, the band that night was so much fun. We danced and danced. The guy behind the bar was great as well. Friendly and responsive to our needs. Best of all, he went out to the alley to invite a couple who were dancing in the alley to come in. Very sweet.
google avatar

Megan B.

Yelp
Loved finding this place! Such a cool spot featuring local wines and the Monday night karaoke was super fun!
google avatar

J D.

Yelp
Really nice place. Ambiance. Good vibes. Good selection of Arizona wines. The sangria is a must. We were in on a Saturday night and they had a good jazz musician. We'll be back.

Monet T.

Yelp
Back Alley wine bar was empty when we went. I think we were there too early. My server had was polite but honestly I felt like we were an annoyance to him and that immediately put me in a funk and ready to find the next joint. We shared a flight and it was nice. The coolest thing about this bar is you can order food to be delivered while you enjoy the wine. Just not my scene but if you love wine tasting I believe you should stop in.
google avatar

judi o.

Yelp
This is a great place to kick back with friends and share a bottle of wine and enjoy people watching and just relax. On Thursdays the bottle of wine is half price and on Mondays they have karaoke. Nice relaxing wine bar.

John L.

Yelp
Fun place to drink great vino and listen to awesome local live music. Super friendly staff. Good place to be a regular, patrons were very engaging. We'll be back.
google avatar

Sammy G.

Yelp
Hard to find but totally worth it!!! Very cool space and awesome drink choices. What a great atmosphere with the live music. Definitely make it a point to stop in and have a bite, glass and/or a flight!
google avatar

Frank H.

Yelp
Funky location. Great selection of wines by the glass. Also has a flight of Arizona wines that is very affordable.

Yelp
I hate to be a negative Nellie since all the other reviews are great, but wanted to share our experience. We thought we would venture into Prescott downtown area to celebrate Valentines day and saw they were having live music here and decided to give it a try. It is a darling place, with fun decor and lots of games and a good vibe. The band was good but loud and big for such a small venue, but we appreciated having live music. We asked the waitress for a Cabernet and she offered either a South African wine or a Cali wine. We opted for the California wine. We also ordered a cheese platter that she said was enough for two. Long story short...... We noticed a large table in front of us just drinking water and not ordering anything and thought that was strange. However after receiving our bill for 4 glasses of wine ($14 each) and cheese platter for $80, we had a better understanding of why they didn't drink or eat there!!! We were shocked at the price. We looked up the wine we ordered on the internet and saw that a bottle can be purchased for $15 retail!!! They probably pay wholesale for their bottles or much less than retail. That is a huge markup and we really felt ripped off. The cheese platter had three slices of salami on it and one piece of each cheese to split, along with some crackers (more than needed), some olives and chocolates. Not worth the $12 price and certainly not enough for two. Unfortunately we won't be going back, although we would have loved to make this venue a part of our regular routine, but won't be able to afford it! Made us wonder if they cater to the visitors and not the local crowd, with those prices. We would love to find a good affordable wine bar to frequent, but this one won't be it for us. On another note, we had a great dinner last night at Lefty's steak house in Dewey and for a huge dinner each with drinks the total tab was less than our visit to Back Alley Wine Bar!!!
