Great burgers! Hans was waiting our table and 20 more. The guy was never slacking. He had amazing recommendations and was super helpful with his knowledge about the menu. The food was really tasty. The burgers were all delicious. The cherry on top was the funnel cake fries. 10/10, would go again.

I can’t say enough good things about Back Door Grill! The food here is absolutely incredible, especially the Black Mamba burger – hands down one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Juicy, flavorful, and packed with just the right kick. Pair that with their truffle fries, and you’ve got a meal worth dreaming about. The vibe is laid-back, the service is top-notch, and everything just feels right. Do yourself a favor and stop by – you won’t be disappointed!

This place is one of the best places to go in steamboat. And when you go you definitely have to get a burger even though I did not do that. Next time I will be getting a burger. The servers are super nice and attentive in. It feels like a very welcoming place.

Really craved some wings on a Saturday night in Steamboat (mind you, a Saturday of PRESIDENT'S DAY WEEKEND in Steamboat AFTER A SNOW STORM!). It was BUSY! But surprisingly, my party of 4 was able to get a table downstairs in just about 30 minutes. That is incredibly quick considering how small the place is. AMBIANCE - Small but cool! You have the choice to go to the bar upstairs, or the sit-down restaurant like downstairs. We did the latter. We wanted to make sure we were going to a place that had TVs playing the USA vs. CAN NHL game and boy, we chose the right spot! They had multiple TVs on each wall! So every seat had a few of the game! IT's a really cool spot too because the walls are plastered with dollar bills left by guests. Also, I think they have a window outside for takeout orders. FOOD - Wings and burgers were the best! The burger menu was impressive and the taste was even better. Very creative stuff. Wings were cooked perfectly as well and hit the spot for my craving. SERVICE - Very friendly people all around! They checked up on us frequently and there are no complaints whatsoever! PARKING - They do have a lot of spots available in the parking lot. Not a problem finding parking! I totally recommend this spot to anyone visiting Steamboat and want a unique spot to get good wings and burgers.

Place was bumping, so the service was slow. But otherwise the food was really good. The bar has a dope vibe a is definitely in tune with resort life. Wings were 💣, sad I forgot them when we left. Tacos were good, and the nacho mama were also tasty. My Brother in law really enjoyed his burger. Overall, it is a must visit place.

Otto is the reason you should come here! He is amazing, so friendly and an excellent waiter! Food is on point! Excellent portion size and flavor is out of this world!

Wow! Best burger I have had in a long time! We had the G6 and G13, both were excellent! So were the sweet potato fries and tater tots!

Outstanding fish taco's. Great location, super nice patio seating, and staff who were very attentive and eager to be there. Really nice place to stop in an grab a quick dinner.

Iconic burger spot in Steamboat! My husband really hyped up Back Door Grill, and I'm happy to report it lived up to the hype! We dined on the patio - It's nice and spacious, and there is also a rooftop with even more outdoor seating. The menu is comprised of some WILD burger combinations. I didn't want to go extremely crazy like the dirty harry (peanut butter, fried egg, bacon, and hashbrown burger on a glazed donut), but I DID want to try one of the unique creations. I went with the John Wayne, which is topped with BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, and an onion ring. So delicious! We also ordered a side of curly fries to enjoy with it. I imagine after a day of skiing, this would hit the SPOT. Over server was very nice and was able to split the tab of our large table with ease. Loved Back Door Grill & was so happy I got to check it out.

First time I've ever visited Back Door outside of Winter and while the vibes are undoubtedly different, the food is just as good. I have nothing bad to say- however I much prefer visiting with fresh pow on the ground. I'm sure others would agree. See you soon Back Door! Still the best burger in CO.

Stopped in on a Thursday evening for a burger and to watch an NFL football game and I was impressed! Staff was friendly, food was excellent and the beer was legit. Highly recommend the Bison burger. I asked for fries well done, but they weren't - not a big deal. Anyway, will definitely be back!

My friend went in, hoping to be blessed with a beer. He's 24 and just because his ID is vertical, they refused him. Mans just wanted a beer. This establishment is unconstitutional and I would advise against coming here if you are in need of a cold one. Can't trust these communist Colorado restaurants

Great lively spot with solid food for most groups or individuals. We sat outside and there was chill reggae music playing entire time. The entrance has dollar bills with messages all over, you can add yours. My party all got burgers mostly. The burger options are insane and super creative, but I kept it simple (boring, I know) Starters: Hummus plate (great) Nacho stack (decent) Meal: Classic cheeseburger w tater tots (great)

Nice little hidden gem. Solid burgers and pleasantly surprised by wings. Super friendly staff, kid friendly, we will be back.

I looked this place up on yelp and saw all the good reviews but I was very disappointed, food was alright, two workers had attitude and wasn't very welcoming, I feel like the reviews on this place isn't real and fake

One of their specialties is the Dirty Harry however we couldn't order because they were out of donuts how is this possible?

This place can do burgers like no other. The 10oz traditional was superb. Great crunchy outside and tender and juicy on the inside. I wish they were cooked to order but they cook them medium and I enjoy a bit more red/pink on the inside. I had mine with fried onions. Delicious nonetheless.

We had so much fun watching the Avs game here. They put on the sound, and the bartenders were all super friendly. Funnel cake fries with chocolate sauce were out of this world!

This is a great place for a local atmosphere. Be warned, the place is really small. We tried coming on a Monday night but it was an hour wait. We decided to come for lunch & we got a table easily. My kids & hubby thought the burgers were average but I loved my hipster burger. It was a smashed bison burger with a great combination of goat cheese & apricot jam. It gave it a sweetness with creaminess. And I ordered onion rings instead of fries. The onion rings had a great seasoning that I could've skipped the burger & ate all night instead.

Probably the best burger in Steamboat. I had the All American with Tater Toots. Perfect selection. My GF had the chili and declared it was excellent. Small room but well worth spending the cash for a great meal.

Great food & Service but Scummy 6% Surcharge We were delighted by almost everything about Back Door Grill, very good food, service was excellent, and the layout with TVs to watch the game was nice. However, upon receiving the bill, there was a 6% surcharge automatically added. No explanation on what this was for, and I assumed the owner is tacking this on just for extra profits. I usually tip 20-35% for great service, but this slimy add on to listed price was over the edge, and I only gave 15% more (21% with that surcharge). I wish the owners were upfront with their pricing. I understand the need to tip wait-staff in America, but have little tolerance for greedy business owners sneaking in extra unexplained costs under the guise of "surcharge". If the management wasn't so scummy, I'd have given this place 5-stars.

Great smash burgers in a loud crowded type atmosphere. Seems like a longtime local favorite place. They did forget my grilled onions, but my blue cheese burger was still excellent. Onion rings ate highly recommended also.

note to vegetarians: veggie burger is not house-made note to Back Door: get a good recipe and make a black bean beat burger or something yummy for us. :-)

The service and foods were great as well as the atmosphere! Two sandwiches with drinks costed us over $50.

Great dive bar decorated with dollar bills. Surprisingly wide selection on the HH menu. And don't even get me started on the prices! $5 for a tall G &T? Am I in a Colorado ski town? The John Wayne burger was so juicy and perfectly seasoned, it woulda been great without the onion ring or cheese. $7 bucks! The HH fish tacos were $8 for 2 substantial pieces of fish which you can get fried or grilled. The "small" caesar salad was big enough to share. Too generous with the croutons but you can pick them off. We were stuffed to the gills for $27 before tip. The place is hopping and tight, so you'd better come early. I did not expect the food at HH to be so well seasoned and substantial. If you miss HH, the regular menu looks very reasonable.

This place is great you won't be disappointed. Great to good prices on staff service good food great ambience.

Ask any local what's the go to spot and chances are they'll recommend this place. Unique decor. It's a very busy spot with indoor/upstiars and out door seating. You might have to wait but 10/10 would absolutely come here again. Service was great and pretty quick! Our gal was so helpful and insightful on various menu items. I went straight for the burgers. They have so many unique options. I got the "how ya doin" burger with a side of jalapeños to make it a little extra spicy. It was absolutely delicious and their hand-cut sweet potato fries were so good! They had so many other great options like tacos, sandwiches, desserts and even breakfast burritos which I heard were to die for. We would definitely come back for those burritos or for dinner again too!

I think you have to make a choice about why why you eat food. This was definitely for pleasure.

Back Door Grill for post-mountain bike ride win! Love, love this place! Excellent service, good and ambiance. Might be the first time I've seen my kids eat all their food! Burgers are amazing! Adult Bevs- yummm! I had boneless wings and a house salad and it was perfect! Patio dining in good weather is a major upside! Oh- and they have a painting of Grand Targhee- woohoo!

I love a good burger spot. I've eaten tons of delicious burgers from craft burger joints over the years. Our Dennis popper burger definitely landed on my top 5 burger list. The place was packed but accommodating to our toddler and served us quickly. The place is a dive, covered with dollar bills coating the walls which is exactly the type of atmosphere I like to find in a mountain town. Highly recommend, I'll be back to try more.

We've since moved away from Steamboat and BDG is one of the top things we miss. HIGHLY recommend!

Came here for happy hour which is from 3:30-5:30 pm. They have a lot of choices on their HH menu and seems like a lot of locals enjoy this place. They have $2 off their rotating draft beers and various other specials. Got their John Wayne burger with curly fries. It was served hot and seemed like a pretty large burger with the onion ring on it. It had good flavor and service was quick. Prices are reasonable and the staff was friendly. It has a dive bar type atmosphere with various dollar bills on the walls. It's a cool spot.

This is a popular place for hamburgers in Steamboat Springs. Just the other day, I had one of the best burgers ever, so I wanted to compare the different hamburger joints here. I must say that the Dirty Harry hamburger is definitely a must-try! It has a glazed donut bun, peanut butter, fried egg, bacon, and a host of other things that sound like they don't belong on a burger...but they DO! I had to try the regular All-American Cheeseburger to compare to the other restaurant I ate at. Just a note...these are smashburgers, so they will taste different than some other places with a lot of the juices pressed out. This allows for a consistent patty with the flavors noted by the add-ons. One thing to try are the fries (sweet potato?) with cinnamon. I wasn't expecting the cinnamon, but it definitely enhanced the taste. I'm glad I came to this restaurant. If you want to go hamburger tasting at different restaurants, Steamboat is a fun place to do it.

Back Door Grill has some of the best burgers, hands down! Not a single one of us (a large group of 8) had one bad thing to say about the food. The options are endless and downright creative. The Big Blue was juicy and cooked just to my personal liking, with ample bacon and bleu cheese. I also indulged in the Tater Totchos (sadly they were out of tots so I opted for fries). Bring an appetite because the portions are generous! One order was unfortunately delivered near the end of our meal as it got lost in the process of handling so many orders - it truly felt like a one-off mistake and I'm still happy to give the 4-stars.

We were a party of 10 and everyone enjoyed their food! I had the spicy chicken sandwich which was delicious and my daughters split the Mac n cheese burger and they raved about it. Definitely recommend

Yelpers did me right in finding this place. i recently started eating Bison and this was my first Bison Burger. OMIGOD it was absolute perfection. the way it was prepared, the bun quality, and everything that went into it made it one of my favorite meals that i have had in Colorado. We liked the place so much we went back the next night and i got the exact same thing and loved it just as much. The beers, ambience, etc were all on point. I will be back here for sure every time i am in Steamboat.

The burgers there were one of the best that I've ever had and the fries were also great. The service was a little longer than expected but definitely worth the wait! They have these walls that are covered in dollar bills and so many many people have drawn on them.it's a really cool place to eat.

Very busy place on a Saturday night. All the way up until 8pm. Parking available. Which is good considering most places here have you park on the street. There was a sign outside by patio that said please wait to be seated. So we waited outside. Was very awkward. After a few minutes if not being greeted i asked a person of waitstaff if anyone was available to seat us. She stated to go right on inside. So went inside and we were promptly seated and waited on. Friendly and welcoming waitstaff. Small room for indoor seating. But more seating upstairs and out on patio. Very good menu selections. Good prices. Good food. Fun atmosphere. 4 star for awkwardness outside and not being greeted.

First time dining at back door grill, everything was great until I found a hair in my burger, I always check in between layers in my burgers and 95% of the time never find anything. Server was nice and the Resturant had a groovy vibe. Won't give this place another shot, every male server has a huge grizzly beard, id imagine the person who made my burger also has a beard with no net over it. Back of the house is responsible for the hair in my burger because it was in between the burger.

Everyone in town was talking about the burgers here, so of course we had to try it. While none of us were ready to take on the Dirty Harry, we all enjoyed some of the best smash burgers we've ever had. We enjoyed so much that we came back again on our way to the airport! Burgers tried: G6, Bison burger, Classic, John Wayne, Buzz Lightyear, Elmer Fudd, Big Blue. All delicious. Sides: in order of preference- Onion Rings (so good), Sweet Potato Fries, Tots, Fries... Curly Fries were meh. The only thing we had here that I wouldn't recommend.

Stop by there for a late lunch and let me tell you. Don't blink on the Dirty Harry, it's a must try. It is one of the best burger I ever had. The place was very casual and friendly. Our sever was great and helpful. They will even help if want to place your mark on the wall. Will stop back when in town again. Great Job keep it

Steamboat Springs, Colorado you own so much of our hearts! Always our go to getaway for some beautiful Mountain View's and great food. Back Door Grill is one of our many favorites, especially the tables under the stair. All American cheeseburger and fries, always an A+. Piping hot fries, delicious burger. It's fire . And that grilled chicken cobb is my dream salad. Fresh jalapeños added to a fantastic grilled cobb, with regular ranch, this one is so fresh and HUGE! It was two meals for me. If you're in Steamboat Springs, hit up this place. Bar upstairs is awesome, too.

Stoped here for a quick bite. What a great spot. The staff was upbeat and friendly and attractive. The decor is awesome and the burgers were awesome. The California cob was huge and awesome. Cold local beers make it a no brainer. Just o eat here and catty on you'll be happy.

Tucked in a side street in downtown lies the back door grill. It's a lively and quirky bar/grill that's covered in money! Our server was very friendly and helpful and he was happy to make accommodations to our orders. I got the classic cheeseburger without cheese and with a veggie patty (high maintenance lol) and sweet potato fries. Between the potato bread, tender patty and assortment of fresh veggies I was in heaven. Their rendition on sweet potato fries was unique and tasty. I believe they were seasoned with cinnamon which made them savory and sweet. Accompanied by my robust amber ale, it was a burger and beer to remember.

Visiting with friends the Back Door Grill is one of their favorite places to eat out at. This eclectic restaurant is right off Main Street and has an upstairs bar, while their main dining area is on the first floor. The first thing that you notice whe walking I the door is all the dollar bills stapled to the walls, and not just the walls but the ceiling as well. Patrons are invited to draw, write messages or color their dollar bill for it then to be stapled wherever you choose and for everyone to see! I love this idea, very reminiscent of what Beau Jo's did back in the day (although with napkins). We of course made our contribution to the art walls! After we waited for just a couple of minutes, the GM sat us at our table. He was very friendly and made us feel welcome! The restaurant was very busy but didn't feel like we waited too long and our waitress was super nice and efficient. We started off with some beers and jalapeño poppers, then dove right in to our burgers! I will say it took me awhile to choose a burger not to mention all the other amazing dishes on the menu. So many options to choose from! At the end, I chose the Original Cheeseburger... sometimes you are just in the mood for a really good cheeseburger. Wish we had left room for one of their boozy milkshakes kbut will definitely be back again another time!

Monday 2pm they are still packed. You know is good!!! Seated outside with the wind blowing! We order the John Wayne and The Buzzlight year in Bison!!! Food came out so fast with fries and Onion ring. The burger was cook to perfection a bit pink. It was PERFECT!!! Then you dip the fries in their special sauce. YUMMMMMM ALERT!!!!!! For the price in a vacation destination this was really worth it. No wonder is always PACKED!!! We will be back!!!!!!!

We had a group of 10 and were able to find a table inside for an early lunch. Ethan took great care of us even as the rest of the dining room filled up. I had the bacon blue cheese burger. It was excellent. All the kids cleared their plates after decorating dollar bills to staple on the wall.

Cam, Brooke and Gabby rocked the brick house! The burgers are insane! The drinks warm the soul. And the whole ambiance is classic ski town with no cares but good food and times. Not pretentious, not over the top. Get here early because there will be a line, and when it's -10° F outside, the wait space fills up fast too.

This restaurant is INSANELY good. Best burger I've ever had. If you want a great restaurant to eat after a day in Steamboat, this is it. Awesome vibes, tons of TVs for sports and great service. Our waitress was super helpful in recommending burgers. We had the Umami and the How Ya Doin burger. Along with sweet potato fries that were 10/10. This place is a gem. Don't pass it up.

Mostly burgers on this menu, but if you need it, there's a salad or a turkey burger. The burgers are so tasty, and a little smaller than usual on a very soft bun. Perfect size for me! Sweet potato fries are an option, and our waiter kept things straight for our party of 10.

A bit of a split decision on Back Door Grill - the food was pretty dern good, the burger choices were creative & seemed to be worth trying. The service could've been a good deal better though. I understand a cool burger place in Steamboat isn't supposed to be like Chotskie's (the restaurant in Office Space with mandatory pieces of flair), but the service left room for improvement, particularly during a mid-afternoon lull.

Please please please add Beyond or Impossible to the menu!!! All the other burger spots in town have one or the other and they're a big hit! This place is super crowded but has a good vibe. The front of house staff is super nice in general, they are working HARD. The ambiance is very loud like a typical dive bar, and I would definitely return if there was a Beyond or Impossible burger.

Stopped to eat as we traveled through steamboat and was worth it .food was delicious and can't wait to go back to steamboat to eat there again. I want to try all the burgers ... had the jalapeño popper.
