I got completely captivated by the interior design and all the pictures of the food here looked absolutely incredible. So we decided to make a reservation for one of my friends birthday here for a party of 8 and all I can say was WOWWWW. We made the reservation for a Sunday afternoon and from the moment we walked in the staff was completely on point. They made sure every aspect of our meal from drinks, to appetizers, to the main course was taken care of and we luckily also stumbled by during happy hour. So most of the sushis, select appetizers, and drinks were half off. We couldn’t have planned it out anymore perfectly. But now let’s get on with the good stuff, THE FOOD. All the sushi rolls I tried were extremely good but the one that really blew me away was the pork belly sushi. I know what you’re thinking, why would you ever put that on sushi but trust me!! The flavors just exploded in your mouth which left you craving the next bite every time. The Octopu**y roll was my second favorite with the nice little display of it being torched in front of you being a nice touch. Overall, incredible experience and I will continue to recommend this place to anyone looking to have a chill back time with friend and good food. - The Fashionable Foodie

Google
Super amazing atmosphere, the employees extremely inviting and made us feel welcome . There wasn’t any vegan options available , but lucky the chef was able to make me sushi roll that was vegan friendly and incredibly tasty. The hookah was the best hookah I’ve had in Miami ever !!! Fair price during happy hours every other day it’s $50 but if you spilt the price with a friend definitely worth it . I also tried the “Treason 101” cocktail which was a strong cilantro syrup flavor not so much of the Union mezcal which was a but upsetting but eventually I got used to the taste and finished . Due to the accommodations made by the chef and the hospitality I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves sushi and is looking for a great hookah and a nice cocktail

Back Door Monkey is an absolute gem when it comes to culinary experiences. From the moment I stepped in, I knew I was in for a treat. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with a touch of elegance that set the stage for an unforgettable meal. Let's talk about the food, shall we? The sushi at Back Door Monkey is nothing short of extraordinary. Each piece was a work of art, meticulously crafted and bursting with flavor. The freshness of the fish was evident in every bite, and the combination of textures and flavors was simply divine. Whether you're a sushi connoisseur or a novice, you're bound to be impressed by their extensive selection. But the standout dish for me was the pork belly. Oh my goodness, it was heavenly! The pork belly was perfectly cooked, tender, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The seasoning was spot on, striking a perfect balance between savory and sweet. It was a symphony of flavors that left me craving for more. And how can I forget to mention the lava cake? It's an absolute must-try for dessert enthusiasts. As soon as I cracked open the warm, rich chocolate shell, a river of molten chocolate oozed out, creating a decadent treat that sent my taste buds into a frenzy. The combination of the velvety chocolate and the perfectly moist cake was sheer perfection. I could hardly resist the temptation to order another one. The service at Back Door Monkey was top-notch. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure a delightful dining experience. The waitstaff was friendly and provided excellent recommendations, making me feel valued as a customer. In terms of value for money, Back Door Monkey exceeded all expectations. The quality of the ingredients and the skillful execution of each dish truly justify the prices. It's worth every penny for the exceptional culinary journey you'll embark on. In conclusion, Back Door Monkey is a hidden gem that deserves all the praise it can get. The sushi, the pork belly, and the lava cake all contribute to an incredible dining experience. If you're looking for a restaurant that will leave you raving about the food, this is the place to be. Don't miss out on the opportunity to indulge in their scrumptious offerings. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

Google
Overall great experience my friend and I went on a Wednesday afternoon very chill vibe house music playing in the background we ordered the octopussy, hamachi Serrano and I’m don’t quite remember the last roll but it had mushrooms in it and it was pretty good. happy hour drinks were pretty good as well I think they were only about $7 bucks each. There is a 20% automatic service charge but overall I was satisfied.

Google
Pro tip: the hookah is more like a giant vape pen. We came for happy hour which had interesting cocktails/food items. A Pear of Drunken Monkeys was the best cocktail out of the three. All of the happy hour maki rolls were good and came in cute steamer baskets. The service could use improvement, the waitress spent more time socializing in the front than actually tending to our table. The ambiance was sexy. It had an inside and outside (but covered) area and they had pretty cherry blossom trees and a DJ later in the night.

Google
The place is gorgeous. They have a very large covered patio to dine. The ambiance is beautiful. The drinks are great and the sushi was excellent. I would definitely recommend the place to have drinks and eat.

Google
Cute spot for a lively dinner. The outdoor area had a DJ and the vibe was very fun. The food is pretty decent but there were lots of fried things and things covered in sauce. If you are looking for a upscale Asian fusion meal for the quality of food, I would look somewhere else.

Google
The ambiance is good fr. The sushi is below average. Overpriced. Service was good. The Sea-bass was overcooked. The mochi was ok. Will go back for drinks ONLY.

Yelp
We walked by and heard music thumping with lights moving and the sign said Sushi. Let's go! Place was cute! Looks like a restaurant/club. Had a small dance floor, DJ was spinning old school music mix with new age. Fog machine was blowing every 30 mins. Drinks were STRONG and food was delicious. It wasn't so crowded on a Thursday night but it was very live. I loved it and would come back here for sure. The sushi and appetizer were all good.

Yelp
Was out and about in Miami and was craving sushi while we were in the area we decided to check out our favorite spot. Usually we come here. They have an area in the back section where it's more damn and they have a CJ and can enjoy your food and bar and dance but when we arrive, we saw that it was closed off. Not exactly sure if the reason but that was a bummer. 'Music isn't the same either it was more of that Rufus du sol vibe which I'm all for but I like some reggaeton too! But anyways, its now more of an intimate restaurant experience and we had the dumpling which were nice and the sauce it came with was flavorful. I had the spicy tuna roll omg amazing!!! And my friend had the california roll and also seaweed salad.

Yelp
A vibe with amazing food! THE PLACE: Located in Wynwood, of course parking is tricky but possible to find. Back door Monkey was very cute and quaint full of eclectic neon lights making it picturesque. The music, ambiance, sparklers made the location so memorable! THE FOOD: On my visit, I had the following - Drinks: Noise reduction 3/5 a bit tart. Red Monkey 5/5 refreshing and light. Food: Spring rolls 5/5 crunchy goodness, Shrimp dumpling 3/5 not bad, but didnt shine like the rest of the food, Sweet & spicy pork belly 5/5 so good, and I dont even like pork lol Octopussy roll 4/5, Salmon belly roll 5/5. All were so fresh, had great texture, were flavorful, and more importantly so fresh. THE SERVICE: Bartenders were professional and did their jobs well.

Yelp
I came here on a Thursday for ladies night. I thought the $29.99 deal was too good to be true, but it is great! However, the service isn't so great. My server didn't speak much English, so I tried some of my Spanish. We were mostly able to communicate, until the bill came. She tried to charge me and my friends for an additional drink EACH! With the ladies night deal you get an app, an entree, a dessert, and two drinks. We all got our two drinks and my friend got one extra and the waitress tried to overcharge all of us. When it was my turn to pay she said my bill was about $55, but I only got items included in the ladies night deal. She gave me a hard time because one of my friends couldn't finish her drink, so she gave me her drink. The waitress asked me if I was "sure" I didn't order a 3rd drink and when I said no, she called over the manager. The manager confirmed I did not order an extra drink and I only had the ladies night deal. It was a whole thing.... The food was actually pretty good and the drinks as well. I had the shrimp tempura for an app. The tuna roll for the entree. And finally the only dessert they offered on the deal, a very melted ice cream and brownie. They all tasted good. I ordered the jungle monkey drink and liked it but 80% of it was ice. I probably won't return unless my friends really want to go back.

Yelp
This place has fallen victim to the "aesthetics over food" trend that has been happening to a lot of new restaurants lately. The place is decorated really trendy, it's instagrammable but the food is really average and overpriced for what you get. I had 2 drinks and a sushi roll and payed around $70. The sushi roll wasn't bad and the drinks tasted good but had barely any liquor. Also, while we were at a table a photographer took a photo of us which we thought was super nice and was for their social media or whatever and then came back with it printed in a frame trying to sell it to us for $20. It was really awkward and came off as shady. The DJ was playing bangers and the hostess and server were super sweet but for the price of the food and for the quality of the drinks I will not be returning unless it's for happy hour and I'm getting a double shot.

Yelp
Our server Daniel was very nice We went for Maki Hour - prices were very reasonable for a happy hour. Ambiance is dope with a very sultry decor, dim lighting. The DJ booth is an armored tank and there are other interior pieces that are aesthetically pleasing to admire while you dine. The Drinks: I had the $7 Noise Ordinance Cocktail which was good but I finished in like 2.2 seconds. Not my favorite but I'm also hard to please with cocktails. (I like them strong) Not a problem - O Quickly switched over to the $6 wine. My date had the Uwakimono and A Pear of Drunken Monkeys cocktails which also weren't that amazing. The Food: In short, sushi worth trying and some of the better sushi I've had in awhile. We had the octopussy roll which of course presentation wise was dope with the torch. I was intrigued by the watermelon tuna - chef did a great job of creating this cool texture and marinating it to practically mimick tuna. Really enjoyed it. I'd return - I wouldn't say I'd rush over and run red lights for happy hour because the cost difference is only like $3 but if it fits your schedule why not. Seems dope for a club evening but not sure they'd play the music I enjoy (r&b, rap, dancehall - I could be wrong)

Yelp
Looking for good food, great drinks, and even better vibes...this is the spot for you! This Asian/Latin inspired restaurant has created a unique presence in Wynwood. The food is great and the cocktails are good but one thing I'd say they can work on is their service, it's a bit too bottle service style for a restaurant and could be confusing for the clientele that was visiting. If you're looking for a dinner party though, you'll really enjoy it here. They play a mix of tropical deep house, reggaeton, and classic hits depending on the night. My picks: - octopussy roll - fried rice - sashimi platter - mushroom maki
google avatar

Yelp
Back door monkey is located in the heart of Wynwood right across from Oasis and has top notch sushi! I Highly recommend the occtopussy roll, it was by far my favorite of the night. Cocktails were good, they one that special one that comes in a Lucky Cat cup that was delicious! However, I wasn't a fan of the dessert options, feel like they should add a more wow factor to the dessert menu with more flavor to keep up with the vibe of the place. Overall though, if you're looking for a cool vibe, good music and yummy cocktails , i would recommend this place. It gets packed so make sure to call ahead with reservations.

Yelp
Cool vibes. Asian style food. Servers could be more attentive. Nice place for a dimly lit dinner date.

Yelp
The place is small but amazing. The fried rice was yummy & the Red Monkey drink was delicious and with red bull for a little pick me up before starting the night. The service was good & we always had drinks definitely wanna come back!

Yelp
Went here on Miami Spice, the restaurant has a great vibe! The music was awesome and the drinks came out fast. The food was 50/50 as we had some good chicken but the sushi roll was ok. Regardless of that the restaurant was great! And I'm looking forward to a next time to try something new
google avatar

Yelp
I've lived in the Wynwood area for 1.5 years. I've always heard of this place but never gone in. We had a few of the dishes and they were good. Definitely have a lot of flare, but for some reason the taste is missing something. Unfortunately I'm just not sure what that something is. The drinks on the other hand? Oh heck yeah. I had both the noise ordinance and the red monkey you can't go wrong with their. Great flavor and great punch! Sweet but not too sweet and a good hit of alcohol. The music though... WOAH! Total vibes. I haven't gone out dancing in a hot bit but that was SOOOO fun!! Definitely going back!
google avatar

Freddy F.

Yelp
Went for Miami spice really worth the $45 for the 3 course meal.. The ambience is very eclectic with great visuals. All around the food was great and the drinks were top notch musics a little bit loud but that's the point I would go again for a quick sushi roll lunch.

Yelp
Was at an event across the street at the Oasis but my friend wasn't feeling any of the food stalls so we left to explore our other culinary options in the neighborhood and came across the Back Door Monkey. From the outside this restaurant looks small and divey but I knew we were in for a treat when I walked in and the neon sign on the wall said to "Eat sushi like it's the last pussy on earth." We started off with the Shrimp Gyoza which was probably our least favorite dish. It wasn't anything special. However the sushi rolls were. We ordered the Spicy tuna roll and the General Tokki Wagyu roll. Both were delicious. My personal favorite was the General Tokki Wagyu roll which they torch at the table for you. The rolls aren't large sized by American standards. More Japanese style. So I would say one roll most likely won't fill you up. For drinks I ordered a sake which came in a can. Don't think I ever had sake from a can before but it was relatively good. The atmosphere is frenetic and the space overall is cool especially as it gets later into the night. Great place for groups and to celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday.

Yelp
Came in early for a Sunday Brunch. Staff was super friendly and inviting. Got to the place on time but my party have not arrived yet (so miami) so they invited me to sit at the table or the bar I choose the bar for a drink. I ordered the Refresher which had Ketel one cucumber & mint botanical with elderflower liquor. This drink was delicious super refreshing. Definitely gonna have to try more cocktails but it's Sunday and I was going for bottomless mimosas baby. Started with Seaweed Salad which was crispy and filling with good flavor. I went with the crab & avocado toast next. The toast came with Sourdough toast, fried egg, red onions, cherry tomato, purple tortilla strips, cilantro. The crab was stringy and delicious had a great blend with the avocado and the toast was firm giving it the perfect crisp texture that balanced out the dish. For my entree I got the steak and eggs which came with Black angus picanha,, 2 sunny side up eggs, shiitake mushrooms, charred shishito peppers, and onion rings. The steak had a glazed teriyaki flavor. The meat was tender and everything was seasoned well I really enjoyed it and I think the server can tell since I finished it in about two minutes I kid I kid more like four. Around 2pm the DJ came on and started playing some tunes and the party was beginning. This place is nice it gives tulum vibes from the tables, decor, lighting definitely a vibe. So for brunch you got the cold plates/krudos from $11-$20, hot kitchen $12-28, $10-25 bucks and Bottomless mimosas $30 unlimited. Overall had a great time for brunch. Will definitely come back for happy hour and dinner a great place to visit when in Wynwood.

Yelp
I've been to back door monkey a few times now and I have to admit I keep coming back because of the great music! They play a good mix of old school and new reggaeton which I love! I haven't been for dinner yet so I can't comment on the food, however, the drinks are great!! This has quickly become one of my go to stops during a night out in Wynwood!
google avatar

Nicole L.

Yelp
I've been here so many times. Every Wednesday is such a vibe. Great food plus great music. And yes there is vegan options available. So every is happy. Don't take my word for it. Go try them out.
google avatar

Matthew R.

Yelp
My friend and I got food poisoning from this place. I ended up being ok, but my friend literally almost blacked out and could barely focus on feeling better because the staff was **downright kicking her out of the place. I understand if she had made a mess, ok, that would be reasonable. However, she didn't even get sick... she just needed somewhere to sit and regain her vision. We explained this to them, yet she was still being passionately kicked out, hence the 1 star. Nothing memorable other than having my friend get rushed out after being served poor-quality seafood. I feel like I would've had a better & much safer time at the equally-pricey & wannabe-trendy 1-800 Lucky just a few blocks down. At least my sushi roll got torched and had a sexy name, right? If you have spare time & money to waste and you're also OK with risking food poisoning in wynwood, try it out :)

Yelp
This place is such a hidden gem! We came for brunch and there was no wait plus the ambiance was exceptional. Such a fun vibe with a DJ and great music. Food was VERY TASTEY drinks were amazing. 10/10 recommend

Yelp
Dark brooding atmosphere -great for dates! There was a DJ show up at some point. The happy hour menu is short but the options are good. $8 maki, $7 cocktails, $6 wine, $5 beer. I'd come back and recommend! I'd like to go on different occasions with other DJs.

Yelp
This place was amazing! The drinks were so good and they have a special one that comes in a Lucky Cat cup, and although their food is a bit pricey, it's 100% worth the cost. Everything me and my friends ordered was so delicious, especially the BDM Fried Rice. The atmosphere is very unique as well. It has this old South Asian wartime vibe with a tank and war propoganda, it makes me feel like the place's name is based off of Viet Kong Guerilla Warfare. Pretty neat. Definitely check it out if you're in the area and want a fun night time experience.

Yelp
We had made reservations as we were not sure of how busy the place was going to be and withthe covid situation. the table was ready upon arrival. The atmosphere the place was a nice vibe to it, the restaurant is a little dark but is not too dark. music is not suoer loud and you can have conversations without any issue most of the time. around 11 pm the music gwts louder as the place becomes more like a bar. they play all kind of music, mostly reggaeton. the food. we ordered food to share as we were not super hungry. i was surprised as the really good food. the tuna avocado tartare was really good, it was super tasty, tasted fresh and was on point wirh the lime. (i will say a must) Wok fried rice was also super good. i am a fan of fried rice and might not be super partial bit is one plate that if i go back i wil order for the table. my favorite was the Octpussy roll, it gets on fire (literally) on the table as the server will vring it with a torch and burn it. i love octopus and the roll really get the best out of it. do yourself a favor and try it. the salmon with coconut rice. it was really good if you are into sweet foods. desserts were super good as well. the Baking lab cookie was really good. but the Sticky rice stole the ahow it was different and amazing. hqs a coconut taste and the ice cream witb the rixe was the bomb. the parking situation is really eaay as they have their own valet parking, the other option is street parking the service was unexpectedly good. moat places in wynwood are not keen on service but this one proved me wrong. the sever was really helpful but the manager Edgar came over to check on the drinks and suggested moat of the good items we ordered. he also checked back couple of times during the night.

Yelp
Honestly this place is the quintessential "bad miami" experience you always hear about. Literally one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had in my life. Group of eight locals and we all agreed we would never ever come back again. Service perhaps the worst ever. Food really terrible. Atmosphere cute. third time here and it's always empty. Management pay attention why is this place always empty?!
google avatar

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. Im a sucker for good music and good food, and this place has both. I've been here twice already and the food has been delicious each time. Andddd they have HAPPY HOUR ON SUNDAYS (big plus there). Every sushi roll was more delicious than the previous. Highly recommend the Octopussy roll -- the waitress will torch it and it tastes delishhhh. The fried rice is also so so so good . Cocktails have a very cute presentation and service was good. The first time I went on a Sunday late evening and the vibe was fantastic. The DJ played hit after hit and it felt safe since it wasn't too packed with people. Great place to go for a chill/ party vibe where you can also eat great food. Will definitely visit again soon.

Yelp
Fabiana was the best waitress. i've been here 5 times and continuously order the california roll, it's full of flavor here. my friend loves the Spicy margarita, it's her go to. John, the GM, was really helpful and hospitable. this is a Miami Favorite

Yelp
Made a reservation here for a bestie date & we had such a blast. We definitely had no idea what it was going to become lol. Drinks were crafty & good. Food was awesome! Asian fusion is always the vibe. Shareables is what we did, ceviche, dips, tacos. Fresh & unique, really cool dishes on the menu that I hadn't seen before. Now let's talk ambiance. Wow. First of all it feels like you're in an air conditioned jungle in Tulum, very cool & trendy. We went on a Friday night & at a certain point a DJ came on with the best throwbacks from the early 2000's mixed with current hits. We were in love, definitely not leaving! Invited some other girlfriends to meet us & it become much more of a fun night than we expected. I will say watch your wallet here; drinks are pricey - food is reasonable. 10/10 would recommend!

Yelp
This spot is a vibe. Dj chanaenay was spinning the jams. Drink are over priced and the hookah was alright.

Yelp
Don't forget your reservation. Called a reservation for around 10. We got there and got right in Server's name is Dotty. I think. Her service was superb Place sent out good vibes. The music, confetti, lasers, everything was gas. Literally fire. As we were leaving around midnight the music list got even better Food. Try the Octopussy, pork belly and crab, hamachi Serrano roll. You won't regret it. Enjoy!

Yelp
I'm giving this place 5 stars. I've been here twice and I have the same experience. It was awesomely delicious. Super cool cocktails. Interesting menu. Ambiance is super dope. Little monkeys scattered through the place. There's this huge tank/Dj booth thing was creative and unique. Both times I visited the I was satisfied. It's a really cool place to meet with friends or family, even events. From what I heard the place becomes a lounge at night and gets really good. Definitely have to swing by one night and see if what the hype is all about. I recommend the tempura shrimp. Them things is off the chain. The octopussy roll was bomb to. If you haven't tried this place, you're missing out. Located in heart of wynwood. You can't go wrong with this back door monkey if your in the mood for Asian and want to try something new .

Yelp
Small place with a great atmósfera, trendy and cool decoration. DJ, Natalia.. She was awesome, played all kind of music from 80'- today's English and Spanish new and old school, a little to loud for dinner time, but with great of music selection to enjoy all night long. Drinks are delicious, the Jungle Obsession (wow & cute presentation), and all of them are really good. Food appetizer: tuna and octopus ceviche delicious, and Crab Salad so delightful. Main Entree: Octopussy was delicious, the lit on fire at the table (super cool), Roasted Salmon Teriyaki with coconut rice was mouthwatering to die for. Dessert: pls SKIP - we could not eat half of it ... sticky rice was hot with vanilla on top, it was a wannabe "arroz con leche" without having a good taste, this combo did not work for me or anyone at my table. The baking Lab Chocolate chip cookies, tasted like it was made from a box and too hard For a such good restaurant desserts are Very disappointed. The service could be improved, since the food came in a different times, a beer that was hot, the took away a cup of my drink that it was not finished and left the empty one? Seriously? They tried to make it better, after we pointed their mistakes, but it seems like the personal it's too busy having a good time talking to each other and having drinks with the staff. The place has a lot of potential, but the need to pay more attention to details. And coordinate the staff correctly. It may give them a second chance in the future since the food and music are the best of this place . NO one single staff member had a mask on!!! Tips: make reservation thru their website, parking at Valet Parking. - Great selection for Miami Spice Menú

Yelp
Went here for my birthday dinner and it had such a great atmosphere to start your night off. Had shrimp dumplings to start & the Octopussy - they were too good.

Yelp
Made the right choice coming here for a birthday brunch! The have tons of open air seating with a great DJ, and on top of the that the waitress was so accommodating and helpful. This place has amazing atmosphere, fun, hip vibes. As well as some really interesting sushi options. We got three rolls, the octopussy (lol) , the mushroom and spicy tuna. The mushroom was like no sushi I've had before, covered in a creamy mushroom loaded sauce. Very rich and tasty. The octopussy roll came with a show! The roll was torched and then covered on a garlic miso sauce. We washed that and a spicy tuna roll down with a nice cold bottle of sake. The waitress helped us pick and it came out with sparklers! Perfect birthday treat for my friend. Will definitely comeback.

Yelp
Had the best time here for happy hour! The sushi and cocktails were absolutely delicious and very detailed. The sushi presentation was very nice even considering they were $8 for happy hour, the quality did not fail. Sushi was fresh and delicious. The service was great and friendly! Definitely will be returning! Here's a pic of our almost finished roll. It was THAT good.

Yelp
Had to post another review for my fav place - I had my birthday here a few months ago with table service and the experience was outstanding!! The bottles were flowing and the staff came to us frequently to check in. The music was incredible as always. The table had plenty of space for a small group, which I love since a lot of VIP places in Miami have you crammed. Thank you Backdoor Monkey staff for making my birthday so great and for your amazing hospitality as always! You guys are the sweetest.

Yelp
Great service Excellent food, nice drinks 10/10 highly recommend The ambiance of the restaurant was nice and personal I recommend taking your significant other or a close friend the only thing I would say negative about the restaurant would be the music choice I think soft r&b music or maybe in smooth jazz would be nice or even just a more upbeat techno music but other than that everything was perfect

Yelp
The place is really live(music was awesome) and fun. The Miami spice menu was awesome with great selection. Attached photos is what we order. I highly suggest the Octopussy Roll for the main course. Overall great vibe and leaving you just satisfied.

Yelp
This place is AMAZING! I absolutely love the environment and energy inside. The detailed decor is super cute and it's a great place to have dinner and good drinks! Everything is very organized and "COVID friendly". Our waiter, Carlos, was very attentive and made good drink suggestions. My friend and I did make reservations as we were told it does get busy as the evening progresses. The octo** sushi was to die for and the pear of drunken monkeys drink was SO good. I was skeptical about the cinnamon in it but it gives the drink such a nice kick at the end-- LOVED IT! definitely recommend for a dinner date or a fun night out with friends!

Yelp
Came here last night for a girls dinner. Ambiance and dj were great. Loved the decor. Drinks took a longgg time to come after we ordered, and it wasn't even that crowded. We ordered some apps like the edamame (came in a delicious sauce) , tuna tartare (it was okay), crab salad (I liked this one, but small portion size), and dumplings (6 dumplings in order, they were good). Sushi was good but it took forever to come out. We got the spicy tuna, spicy hamachi, wagyu roll, and octopusy. They came out with a torch light to light the wagyu and octopusy rolls on fire which was neat. Rolls were Latin fusion-lots of sauce, not authentic Japanese sushi, but we're still tasty. Toward the end of the meal, they gave each of us a sparkler and eventually lit everyone's on fire so the entire restaurant was lit up. It was a nice little surprise. Turned into clubby vibes after. I would probably go back late night for drinks and dancing, but probably not dinner again.

Yelp
Very good food and turns into a club around 11pm so be sure to eat up the delicious sushi! They still serve food but it's more of a dance environment after

Yelp
First time in back door monkey and YOU have to go! It's the hot spot with amazing food. The octopus appetizer is to die for. IT WAS FIRE!! Even ordered seconds. The service we received was so amazing and we will definitely be back again.

Yelp
This place has easy parking behind the restaurant, the ambience is cute and they have live music however they lack service. We placed food orders before others and got our food last. Our server was not attentive. If you have time to spend, this is the place because they move so slow in this establishment and the music is so loud that you can not hear anything. I had to repeat my order to the server a few times.

Yelp
I was really excited about this restaurant, but was so disappointed. I made a reservation for 8:30 pm, when I arrived they walked me and my party to a table outside. As soon as I saw it I knew I didn't want to sit there because the whole purpose of eating at this restaurant was to enjoy the ambience & music. When I asked if there was anyway we could sit inside, at one of the empty tables, they said they were all reserved. I pointed out to the host that when I made my reservation there was no option for inside/outside, he told me the tables were reserved by the manager for their special guests. It seemed like they selectively pick who they wanted to sit inside or outside, but the host claimed the "system" reserved us for outside. After I told him we'd be leaving because we didn't want to sit outside, suddenly there was a "cancellation" and they could seat us. I hoped the service and the food would make up for this, but it didn't. The service was sporadic at best, took 10 minutes before we were even served water. We ordered cocktails & a sushi roll to start which were good. But the entrees were mediocre, two of which were brought out first and the other about 20 minutes later. When we asked where my friends dish was, they explained there's only one wok (???) and the delay was because we ordered two dishes cooked on the wok. My friends dish was taken off the tab by the manager, but at this point there was nothing they could've done to redeem themselves. There was an automatic 20% service charge on the bill, which they did not earn nor deserve. If you're thinking of coming here, I recommend spending your money somewhere else.

Yelp
Holy cow. I was not expecting this sushi to actually mindblown me . First off the vibe, so cute. It has aesthetically pleasing outdoor area, where you can vibe out and dance, there's a dj playing. It's a whole vibe!! Period. Then I tried the sweet and spicy pork belly (not a pork person but I try my best to experience the whole ambience ) & that was delicioussss. Wow. Then the sushi. First you have to try the Octopussy & the Wagyu Sushi Roll. Don't look at the price bc if you are, why are you even eating here??? It's not bad for the whole experience, food quality and mind blowing factor. You are in wynwood Miami! Enjoy it!!

Yelp
My friend has a birthday celebration here back in April . We had an amazing night full of fun laughter and dancing . They had a dj playing music and at the end of the night they had a live drummer and out dinner turned into a party .It was ladies night so the drinks kept flowing and they were so delicious. We had a party of about 15 and out one server was so attentive and she nice she took care of all of us in a great matter . The food here is absolutely delicious and taste so fresh . The shrimp tempura is to die for and the rolls were some of the best I've had in Miami . I love this place !

Yelp
This is a very nice place if you are looking not just to dine but also to enjoy some music and dance. If you are a girl I would suggest you come here on Thursday because they have girls night and for I believe $30 you get to pick 2 drinks, 1 started, 1 sushi and dessert. If you do this pick the popcorn shrimp, the sushi that is flammable I can't remember the name. The ceviche is so so I didn't find it that interested and also the avocado tartar but everything else was very good and tasty.

Yelp
This was a super fun spot for a bachelorette party I was at over the weekend. The sushi and the cocktails were both incredible - plus the edamame had this amazing sauce on it that had us all drooling. The atmosphere was loud so I don't know if I'd call it good for like a date spot... and they had these fans that were absolutely destroying any hopes we had at a good hair night... but the party aspect was so fun. I think they require you to buy bottles to stay after a certain point, but the DJ was so good, the electric violinist (?!) was so fun, and was definitely worth it. Would definitely go back!
