While looking for a dinner location for his birthday, my brother stumbled upon this location. He saw their Instagram page and there were a few items that he wanted to try including the oysters. Upon arriving, we quickly found out that what was displayed on their Instagram and website is inaccurate. I have a question for the marketing manager of this establishment, is there a reason the website and social media pages have not been updated? If your menu has changed, why not update it immediately so that customers are not expecting certain items and then realize it is no longer on the menu…it really is false advertisement…. The restaurant is located next to The Woodlands Resort and the golf course. Upon entering it’s very nice, spacious and inviting. There were only a few guest eating when we arrived. Our party of 6 ordered a few appetizers including Smoked Wings and Jalapeno Bacon Mac, both were good. Our main items included the Woodlands Chicken Pull which was skimpy and flavorless. The Boar and Bull pasta which was mushy, and definitely not worth $28. The Crawfish Cakes which were overall mediocre, and left you wanting more. Texas Smash was the only decent main dish that we tried. The presentation of the food was top tier, however, the food quality and taste was subpar. Shaylee was our waitress for the evening, she was very knowledgeable and attentive. She also brought out a complimentary cheesecake for my brother’s birthday. The cheesecake was the only thing he enjoyed. We walked away spending well over $250, yet feeling unfulfilled….Food needs an upgrade & Marketing Manager should revise their socials and website to ensure they align and accurately reflect their current menu.

We were looking forward to trying this restaurant, but our experience was a bit disappointing. We waited over 15 minutes for a table, even though several were available, and then another 10 minutes before our server brought water and took our order. There was no offer to answer questions about the menu. I ordered a glass of Prosecco and my husband a beer. My drink arrived quickly, but they were out of the beer he had chosen. He selected another option, which unfortunately didn’t arrive until after our meals were served. The food was fine, though not memorable enough to make us want to return. The location is excellent, and the view of the golf course is beautiful. With some improvements in service, this place could easily offer a much better overall experience.

This place knocked it out of the park for us! We went on a Sunday evening so I can’t speak for a busier day/time. The food and staff was just excellent, it’s been so long since a restaurant has blown us away with every bite from start to finish. We ordered drinks, appetizers, entrees, and desserts. I don’t recall our waiters name but he was kind, attentive, and seemed happy to be there. It truly made for a wonderful experience. We will be back!

⭐ 1 out of 5 stars Unfortunately, our experience at this restaurant was very disappointing, especially considering it’s located in such a great area and represents a good hotel. First, we had to wait over an hour to be served our food. The service overall was poor and unorganized. Our main dishes arrived before the appetizers, which made no sense. Then, we were charged $54 for a piece of steak smaller than a finger, which felt completely unreasonable for the price. To make things worse, several items we ordered from the menu were later unavailable — and we were only told after waiting more than an hour. It’s really unfortunate, because the place has potential due to its location, but the service and quality of food definitely need serious improvement.

Great, convenient spot to grab dinner if you're staying at the resort. Wonderful patio to sit on watching the golf course and pond. Service was friendly. We ordered a drink (excellent) and appetizer (very good), however those were priced higher than they should've been for what you got. Very very small quantity. Our entrees were very good and more reasonably priced although not cheap.

Disappointing Experience - All Flash, No Substance I chose this restaurant for a date night with my wife, expecting high-quality food and attentive service, but the entire experience was less than mediocre in every way. The issues started right at the door. The service at the reception was terrible—unwelcoming and clearly lacking in customer focus. Once seated, the dinner service was extremely slow; the pace was unacceptable. I was expecting a five-star experience based on the appearance and the building's prime location, but this restaurant is a total letdown. It only manages to deceive with its facade, clearly coasting on the reputation and beautiful setting of the former steakhouse that occupied this space.

Great lunch/dinner spot near a golf course. Small menu but delicious options! The patio area was so relaxing and definitely the highlight of the dining experience there. I had the seasonal salad with chicken and it was perfect! My friends loved their meals as well. Would absolutely recommend and be back!

Great food and great service! Our server Victor was also very pleasant and on top of things. You absolutely have to try the Woodlands Cake!

Ruth was our sever today, and was very pleasant and knowledgeable. She recommended the blackened chicken and it was delicious!

Based off the amount of good reviews, we gave this place a try recently. While there are plenty of good reviews, I tend to agree with the overall sentiment of the not so good reviews. We left underwhelmed and laughing at our servers final "parting gift". I agree with most, walking in we were impressed with the modern, yet open feel of the eating area. There were good views of the golf course and a nice outdoor area that looks like it would be nice when the fireplace is on. After we sat down someone came over and gave us silverware and a menu. Didn't look up to say hi or introduce herself. Hmm. Then came back with flat water and again, didn't say anything and walked away. Then another server came over and gave us a second set of silverware. Oh well. We started off with a few happy hour bites, the chargrilled oysters and meatballs. Both came out really quick. Though it was obvious after the first oyster they had been sitting for a while. The were barely room temperature so the cheese had hardened. Each oyster picked up like grabbing sausage on day old pizza. Just one big, cold, coagulated piece. Flavors might have been ok if it was hot. The habanero mignonette was so spicy I choked on it initially. This stuff could kill a small dog, I'm surprised this is being served. The meatballs were described with a "bourbon glaze, Serrano aioli and green onions." They came out in a little bowl half filled with some type of bitter liquid. Fairly odd taste/presentation and the meat was painfully overcooked. My main was the blackened redfish. Came with "jalapeño cheddar grits and pickled okra salad". The "grits" had more of a texture of creamed corn that had been sitting for a while and developed a gelatinous texture with way too much jalapeño overpowering any other flavor. Salad was an afterthought. The fish itself was pretty good and cooked well. Though they left the skin on and presented it skin side up. Which is fine if the skin was crispy. Instead it was just soggy fish skin that I put to the side. We noticed that there were only a few seats taken at the bar. Though it seemed no one was getting service and we all had to flag down people to get help ordering. We heard other people having to explain how to make their drinks properly. Definitely got the sense that the 2 bartenders didn't communicate well, nor did they check on any of the customers. Wife had the chicken wings. Again not hot and still had hair and fried chicken giblets on them. Wife ordered a hot coffee dessert drink and the seasonal fruit cobbler crisp. Again, the drink took a while and the bartender eventually apologized that they were figuring out the coffee to put in the drink. Ultimately, while the flavor was good, it was barely warm after waiting 10 + minutes. Cobbler had good flavor though it was mostly a tin of baked apples and dough. More of a cake. There wasn't anything that resembled "crisp" or "cobbler" about it. Unfortunately none of the dishes seemed very composed. Most had strange presentations with overcooked, yet somehow room temperature items. The sauces were weird/mostly inedible, and the items we were served didn't really match what was described on the menu. After I asked for the check I was asked if wanted any more water? I had ordered sparkling water in the beginning and finished it fairly quickly while it sat empty the whole meal. Apparently I had ordered a large bottle of pallegrino. I was never informed I ordered a bottle, it was never used to fill up my glass during the meal, nor was it given to me to fill my glass myself. By this point I was disappointed in the food/service and just wanted to leave. She didn't have a cap to put on the top so she put a quark in it for me to take home. After putting it in the backseat of my car, while backing up, the pressure had built and exploded the bottle of water all over my backseat. At this point all I could do is laugh about the whole experience. Thankfully it was just water. From the bar, we could see plenty of wait staff and hostesses running around. Perhaps the service would have been better in the main area. Unfortunately it was clear the 2 bartenders were out of their element. A couple times we had servers bring us food that was for someone else. While they seemed to be staffed properly, no one seemed to communicate. And the food/preparation had us wondering if the chef called in sick and they were covering for them. Like a yacht chef had been fired and the deckhand with "some experience" was stepping in. We went in hopeful to find a new local spot but there were too many misses to warrant a return trip.

Really not my favorite place sadly just blah on all the happy hour drinks and food , the place was beautiful!! but the food was average. the oysters were so small and really fishy . The burger was probably the best thing . The "street corn" isn't that it's corn on the cob . Spinach dip was basic and the chicken sandwich had barley and chicken hahah then the kids chicken was so expensive like $15 lol The drinks as in cocktails were super watery and just not good . Loved the view and our waitress but wouldn't go back. The bathroom also had no toilet paper which was sad for me when i went hahah

Come enjoy an under pour of Makers Mark for $17! More than most fine dining restaurants !

I give this place a 3.5/5! It's part of The Woodlands Resort, which is beautiful by the way. You can sit either inside or outside (with a beautiful view of a golf course and lake). It wasn't super crowded when I went around 7pm and was able to get seated immediately. My waitress was Nicole and she was fantastic! I started off with the lady bug mocktail ($12), which was absolutely delicious. It had fresh blackberries in it! The spicy chicken sandwich ($16) was very tasty. Not super spicy in my opinion, but tasted great nonetheless. The Texas toast it came on was super buttery and delicious. I love a skinny French fry and these were perfectly cooked. If you like ranch, theres is absolutely delicious. I was stuffed by the end of my meal, but was tempted by the dessert menu. The Nutella bread pudding ($10) sounded so yummy, so I took one to go back to my room. I wasn't the biggest fan of the taste of it. The Nutella is only in the center, but would be much better if it was all over. I wish they didn't top it with whole hazelnuts. I did enjoy the cream it was topped with. Overall a super yummy meal!

We had a reservation for 4 pm on a Saturday afternoon and sat us over by the golf course, which was a nice view. Everyone from the hostess and waitress to the manager was very friendly and helpful. We ordered off the happy hour menu for drinks and food. The Old Fashioneds were amazing. We had the meatballs, burgers, and brussel sprouts. The first two were definitely . The only thing that was not great were the flies that kept bothering us. Otherwise, it was a classy place to enjoy an afternoon.

Really great food! We had a work conference at the hotel and ate here the first night. I had the salmon and it was amazing! Great wine list and selections. Service was great and we enjoyed the atmosphere.

Ordered the $55 NY strip medium rare. Could not cut through it. Too much grizzle. Very disappointing. They offered to make another steak, but it was too late. My bill was not discounted at all. I won't be back.

Thank you Chef Ivan for taking a person interest in taking care of us! Much much better experience than previously. Nicole did a great job. Dr Pepper Chicken minus teriyaki sauce was outstanding. Smash burger was great as before. Chocolate cake was very good. Tres Leches cake lacking sweet richness of sweetened condensed milk and wasn't moist enough. Sweet corn continued to disappoint. Ambiance was especially noising with spring break kids but again sports bar feel. Live music was almost hidden which is unfortunate. Overall much better experience than previously.

Came here during our stay at the Woodlands Resort and had a great experience! We sat inside and was a good vibe, but outdoor patio seems fun as well on a beautiful weather day. Service was excellent and we enjoyed the food. I would not get the muffins again as an appetizer but everything else I would. My husband had the hanger steak and frites and they cooked his medium rare to perfection. I had the lobster Mac and cheese and it was divine! Highly suggest the s'mores cheesecake! You can come here even if you aren't staying at the resort!

We absolutely loved our lunch at Back Table kitchen and bar. We started with the fried green tomatoes and an order of the southern Fritto Misto everything was outstanding. Two in our party ordered salads: I had the local tomatoes and burrata and my aunt had the wedge salad. They were both delicious, and we just kind of shared between the two of us. I honestly can't decide which one I would pick to order again because both were perfect. By far thing on this menu is the grilled salmon with a hot honey glaze cilantro pesto and corn succotash. I'm not from Houston so I don't really know how you guys deal with this heat, but I could never eat heavy food as hot as it is in Houston. Baked lobster Mac? Cabernet braised short rib? Pork belly? No I can't do any of that. Fortunately, there are lots of lighter options from the chicken tortilla soup, to any of their four wonderful salads, to the nice selection of shareables. When we were in here it was admittedly an off time but we were some of the only customers in here. Not only was it quiet enough for us to hear each other, but it was easy to hear our lovely server. I especially love it when servers are kind to children, showing them how they can expect to be treated when they go to restaurants as an adult. How can we ask kids to be good at restaurants if we don't treat them like customers? Our server at Back Table got it perfectly right friendly and helpful to my kids and it really helped us enjoy our lunch. With so much of my family living in the Houston area and being here for work a lot I imagine I'll be back to back table and I look forward to it. Maybe it will be winter and I can try the cowboy ribeye, steak frites, pork chop, or something else of the heavy variety. In any case I do intend to come back, whatever the season.

Our server (Sydney) really took the time to make sure with the kitchen that my meal was gluten free. She was very attentive also. The food was delicious, and we will come back for sure!!!

I love that they have mock tails. The front hostesses were totally cool with my feral children playing in the game room. The ambiance is lovely in the evenings and the view in the patio in the morning is peaceful. The breakfast buffet was gigantic! It is HUGE anything you could ever want for breakfast is there - even things I would never consider for breakfast. The chef made me a specialty order of Shishido peppers they were super spicy but delicious! I didn't want a whole steak at the time ... it was close to closing and they went above and beyond. The place was clean and had several areas with different vibes. Good spot! Super kind service and the the ingredients were good.

Came to Back Table for a quick beverage and was quickly met by Sydney. She was very engaged, checked on my party constantly to ensure our drinks were to par. She was personable, hospitable and truly the epitome of excellent customer service. Sydney made my entire visit truly enjoyable and is an outstanding brand representative of this resort, establishment and restaurant. Service, product and atmosphere were extraordinary. Will be back for all of these reasons.

We had our Valentine's day dinner at Back Table and it was a very pleasant experience. We were greeted with a very friendly staff member and asked if we'd like to stay by the window and yes we did! We were served by Victor and he was wonderful! He was very attentive and also gave us dessert recommendations when we were confused. There was live music playing which made the ambience great! They also had a separate Valentine's day menu which we didn't use but was quite decent. Our food was also quite flavorful and the star of the dinner was our cheese and chicken dip. It was otherworldly! It was our first time at back table since we are still new to The Woodlands, but it definitely won't be the last!

Although they were not prepared for Houston Restaurant Week on its first day, they went all out to make sure we were satisfied. We were able to access the menu online and most of the items were available. The smoked pork sandwich was divine. Big chunks of meat, lightly sauced, this rates up there with my favorite pig sandwiches of all time. The gumbo was great and rich. There was no shrimp poboy available but they comped my partners meal and what she had was awesome.

Shaylee was amazing and simply delightful! The food and service were amazing. We will definitely be regulars here. Love this place!

What more could you ask for to wind down after a long day at work?! Beautiful scenery, great service, live music that makes you want to dance, tasty drinks and great food. Can't wait to come back here to try even more of their delicious food. Really enjoyed munching on the bites outside with all of the shade. Very hard to find too many outdoor venues that are comfortable in the hot Houston weather.A very enjoyable evening had by all!

Tucked away, deep inside the grounds of The Woodlands Resort is this lovely chill restaurant and bar that used to be my favorite high-end steakhouse in town. If I'm honest, I'm sad that we lost Robards, which was stunning, gorgeous, very upscale, and seriously made the very best ribeye in The Woodlands. But I digress... This new identity is not as "special." But it's tastefully relaxed, marrying industrial concrete floors and steel beams with exposed brick walls and plenty of stone in the well-designed outdoor area. No need for a dinner jacket or red-bottomed high heels here, which may the point? The food was good, but some menu descriptions were misleading, which was a miss. For example, we ordered the Yucatán Shrimp Cocktail and fully expected fresh and zippy, with big shrimp. What we got were small-medium sized shrimp drowning in a sauce that was more sweet than smoky. It definitely lacked the acid I was hoping for. The deviled eggs were fantastic! And while the pimiento cheese was delicious, the accompanying ham was way too salty. Only one in our group of six could eat it. Entrees fared better... the burgers were generous, the ribeye was enjoyed, and the beer chicken was juicy. The shrimp poboy was described as average. And another menu miss: The Signature Chocolate Cake... it's not actually a chocolate cake! It's more like a mousse made with chocolate and coconut, and the person who ordered it detests coconut, which was not mentioned in the description of the chocolate cake. Service was excellent. At first were surprised that the restaurant wasn't more crowded on a Saturday night, but after the meal, it made sense. With so many options in The Woodlands, the misses were enough to question a return visit, which is too bad, because the location and views are outstanding.

We dinner here for the first time Saturday evening. Everyone was so friendly from the minute I walked in. The food was very good. Nicole was our server, she did a fabulous job. I would definitely come back.

Excellent atmosphere and great service, our server Samantha was very courteous and attentive. We order some cocktails (Acapulco) and appetizers, everything was delicious. Definitely will come back.

It's a relatively new restaurant having opened a little over a year ago. Its taken a little bit for it to find its groove but I confidently say it's now putting out some of the best food in the woodlands. Have had several good meals here but last nights was particularly good. Started off with BBQ fried oysters which I didn't happen to get a picture of because they were so delicious we forgot to stop and take one. For entrees I had the prime ribeye with asparagus, jumbo lump crab and hollandaise and my friend had the pork belly. I really enjoyed my steak, it was definitely one of the better ones I've had recently. Judging by my friends completely empty plate, I'd say he enjoyed the pork belly. They've got a great cocktail and beer list to compliment the good food. Service here has definitely improved. If you have not been before or haven't been in a while, I'd definitely recommend giving Back Table a shot.

Great food, and the chef was very accommodating to requests. Samantha is a wonderful waitress. She is very thoughtful and took very personal care of all of our friends. The ambience, out on the patio with the open flame overlooking the island golf green and the resort grounds is very relaxing.

Super nice restaurant inside the Curio Woodlands Resort. Great food, outstanding service and relaxing atmosphere. Stayed here at the hotel for the weekend with wife and daughters,, and were surprised by how much we enjoyed it, so we went back the following evening with our friends that lived locally.

Samantha and Rene offered amazing customer service. They were attentive and offered great suggestions off the menu. This is definitely my new go to place bc of them.

I would give the food service a 5 star rating because of the attentive service by Samantha. She was very pleasant and made dining there pleasant. Overall, I give it a 4 star rating because the noise level is very loud. Also, the item we wanted to order (the charcuterie board) wasn't available.

We had a great evening my husband, me and our dog on your beautiful patio last Friday. The servers did a excellent job, specially Victor, he was very attentive and polite. The salmon was delicious. Didn't like the oystees, to much cheese for our taste.

Victor is charismatic, attentive and very personable. Service was joyful and outstanding. I love that I can speak in my language, sometimes you need to add a hint of your language when it is within reach, gracias Victor!

This is difficult to review. We have only biked here to hang out in their outdoor patio area. Ambiance is great! Love the patio! Happy hour decent. However, service has always been lacking. For example...NOTHING going on in the bar and they can't take the time to help cart out your drinks? Or....we arrived 10 minutes before they opened on Saturday. glassware still sitting around from night before. still there two hours later after we left. so, recommend if want nice outdoor patio, but absolutely don't come if want any kind of service.

The food and drinks were delicious! The fried bbq oyster and biscuits are a must have! I'll definitely visit again.

I was around the area and saw this restaurant with pretty positive feedback so I decided to try it out. The hostess were nice as soon as we walked in and the place was very clean and friendly, the food was amazing and portions were great. I'd like to thank Nicole for such an amazing service making sure we got outside since it was really pretty and recommending some food choices!

Rebekah was an amazing waitress. She was so helpful with our group. She recommended the pimento cheese board and oh my gosh it was amazing. If you get the chance to have rebekah as your server you are very lucky!!

This is the second time I am here trying this pineapple lavender martini! It is soooooooooop good! The bar manager makes it perfect every time! I am not a martini type person however this is phenomenal! I would get it every time! This seems like a formal place because it's the "Woodlands Resort" but it's not.. you can sit casually at the bar and feel just fine. I highly recommend the back patio also.

Food was great, service was even better. Rebekah was our waitress and she was so accommodating for us and our 3 yr old! Definitely recommend this place and the resort is beautiful too.

Good spot, nice ambiance, can sit outside at the water, or near a fire pit. Food is good: hamburgers are really great. They have a decent happy hour as well. Only downside is: music was way too loud, could hardly have a conversation....

Look.... I'm giving this place a four star because the food was good, the restaurant is very cool on the inside/outside, the vibe is nice, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. A lot. This should be a packed place on a Friday night with the scenery and live music. Hopefully it makes it I'll go back but the service needs to improve.

Rebekah was our server and she was amazing. Very personable and fun. Richard, the general manager was also amazing. Thanksgiving weekend, he managed to fit us in no problem even through they were full. All around 5 stars.

The food was absolutely delicious, atmosphere was nice, it wasn't crowded on a Friday night. Victor's service was outstanding - he is very thorough and loved his food suggestions! This is a keeper for Date Night!

I visited here and had the wings last night and I'm already looking forward to returning and having some more! The new menu items were outstanding. I tried some grilled oysters and although I am not a fan of raw seafood; they were grilled to perfection with the cheese and topping did not have the chewy consistency that I have found in the past in oysters. Very much Looking forward to my next visit.

We went on New Year's Eve so the menu was preset. Understandable. But for what the package costs, the choices were just not good. You go out for NYE there should be a steak option. Maybe chicken. Nope. The options were meatloaf, pork chop, polenta, red fish or duck leg. I had meatloaf, my wife had pork chop. Both were nearly tasteless. Also, what side would you expect? Hers came with Mac n cheese. (That was the good part). Mine came with (listen to this) A piece of bread with an over cooked fried egg on top of it. The description said Texas Toast but it was just untwisted white bread. Who thought that was a good idea? The deserts were good which is why it got a 2 star instead of 1.

Ehh comes to mind to describe this place. 30 minutes before a waiter came by after we had to ask the hostess who our waiter was. The drinks had to be remade and we where told would be comped due to how long we waited for someone to take our order, they were still on the check. The food while it sounds fancy and on paper you think your getting a good quality meal. That's about as far as that goes. The quality was awful, you can tell they prep mass amounts ahead of time. From start to finish nothing was of redeeming value. Way over priced for what you get.

The food and service was awesome. I definitely recommend trying the cane syrup braised pork belly with the black eyed peas, it was wonderful. Victor, our server was very attentive, kind and made our dining experience a great one.

This a a fun little spot to grab a cocktail and a light bite. Happy hour is seven days a week and there are some good values on small plates and draft beer but they should add some cocktails. Saying your well liquor is discounted and then adding an up-charge for any kind of drink that is with that base (even if it doesn't contain any additional alcohol) isn't really any cheaper than a regular priced drink. They had some live entertainment which was nice and the outdoor patio area looks really nice for days when the weather is more conducive to being outside. Looking forward to revisiting during cooler temps and maybe trying out the dinner menu or the cigar and whisky tasting they are hosting soon.
