I have very mixed feelings after my visit here. I came with a friend for a bite and some drinks, and was very impressed with the ambiance. We just had beers, so I can't comment on the drink menu, but the food we had was very good. Our waitress, whom we found out was new, was super sweet, she visited our table several times to check on us, and despite being new there, she was just wonderful. Aside from the music that got turned up way too loud towards the end of the night, the experience with the environment aspect of our visit was great.
My problem lies with events that happened towards the end of our night. I went to use the washroom and I LOCKED THE DOOR. I was sitting on the toilet when I hear people try to open the door (again, locked, so they were unable). I then hear a woman tell someone else that, "nobody is in there, unlock the door!", to which I yelled back that there was in fact someone in there (perhaps the music was too loud because they didn't hear me). As I am sitting on the toilet with my pants around my ankles, a gentleman unlocks the door and WALKS IN, he then says, "oh someone IS in here". He turns around and leaves the door open instead of shutting it again, and the woman he was speaking with then opens the door and looks in at me ON THE TOILET. My privacy was completely violated twice, despite me taking the precautions and locking the door while using the bathroom AND yelling at them through the door that the bathroom was occupied. Thankfully I am thick skinned, but I was definitely livid, and I can only imagine how absolutely horrific that may be for other women who have experienced trauma and sexual harassment/violation to have a man barge into the locked bathroom while they're in there, half undressed, and at their most vulnerable. Perhaps KNOCKING may have resolved this problem, instead of just unlocking the door? The conversation I had with them after, while the gentleman apologized, the woman was completely dismissive of her violation. I am still in shock this happened, and don't feel comfortable returning to this restaurant.
