Backhouse Restaurant

By far the finest meal in memory. We have been to many dining establishments in NOTL and recently spent two weeks in France, nothing was better in our opinion. We were so happy we stopped in to check out. There are so many interesting menu items. When we dinned there were three unique tasting menus. We selected the middle priced tasting menu with a single cheese tasting. We left completely satisfied. The server and other team members were excellent, we never felt hovered over or ignored. The chairs can be a little hard or uncomfortable for some, the good news is cushions are available! We need to come back and request the chef's bar seating where dinners can enjoy a great view of the preparations in the large open kitchen space.

Had a lovely meal here. We were sitting right in front of the chefs preparing the food. It was fascinating watching the three ladies working together, coordinating the dishes and dispatching them to the tables. Each of the dishes we ate were delicious. We spent 3 hours to eat all the courses. I think if we'd have been waiting at a normal table we'd have been rather frustrated it the wait... with 40 minutes being the longest wait between 2 of the courses. Indeed even with the entertaining chefs it was still a little too much waiting. Oh... the wood being burnt while we were there was Peach wood!

Amazing experience. The wait staff is friendly and approachable giving the right amount of service without being too intrusive. They maintain a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We had the lamb tasting menu and the signature tasting menu - both delicious and filling. If you want yo splurge get the premium pairings but i thinl you wouldn't be led wrong with standard pairings. We also had cocktails - these are well made. If you can, try to sit at the chef's table where you can watch all the action!

The atmosphere of the dining area was great. The staffs were friendly and attentive. The food were full of surprises. The streak was juice and full of flavor. The pike fillet was crispy outside and tender inside. Definitely will come back for more. They also renew their menu very often.

A must try at least once. They messed up our reservations but were very quick to accommodate. Food was good, a few odd dishes. Definitely do not skip on dessert. Well organized kitchen with staff pumping out dishes like machines. Prices are a bit high. Overall a good experience nonetheless.

This one is a hidden gem in Niagara on the lake area. The servers were warm and very kind. We ordered calamari, ruffino pizza, and "not your average" chicken parmigiano for our late lunch. It was true lol. There are something special about the chicken and the pizza. The chicken was very tender and juicy inside while they were able to keep just right krispyness outside. They use authentic pasta noodle and sauce I really enjoyed its taste. My son really liked their pizza and my wife loved the calamari sauce. This corner Italian restaurant has just become my go to place in Niagara on the lake area. Two thumbs up!

Super love this restaurant, the food is more than 5 star hotel , the waitress is so friendly and have passion to work there . The presentation of the food is so awesome. For sure I can come back and must recommend to come here . Specially all the material is so fresh and direct from their own farm .and I love the desert. I only had lunch here I wish I can try the dinner next time.

We just had an incredible dinner. The tasting menu is a great experience. The food is unique, delicious and locally sourced. Tje staff is well informed and excited about each guest's dining experience. Having a sommelier adds to the evening just that much more.
