"This is just the sort of restaurant you would like to have at home. Great food and select wines with good recommendations. All are served in the friendly surroundings of a charming, centuries-old, half-timbered building. Wine shop just over the road." - Michelin Inspector
Very nice place, perfectly located, nice comfortable rooms and very helpful staff. We would definitely repeat and enjoy a meal at the Gasthaus.

Small and cozy. Little Pricey. AC doesn’t really work. Thankfully it was cool during my visit so the AC didn’t matter. Tiny bathroom. But, pretty comfortable overall. Breakfast not bad, not great. Coffee machine A++. Extremely convenient location. Really nice front desk.

We did not stay at this hotel, but we had dinner there twice. The service is excellent and the staff very friendly. The chef cooks pretty well without too much fuss. The small courtyard where dinner is served is a quiet space that allows you to disconnect from the crowded main street. Recommended.

What a delightful surprise. This little place brings you to the heart of old town Heidelberg. Shops, restaurants, the river and all the wonders of Heidelberg are right here. The rooms are well appointed, comfortable, and clean. Staff is wonderful. Breakfast is simple but a lot to sample with made to order eggs, fresh bread, cheeses, meats, fruit, yogurt, coffee and several teas.

Stayed at this hotel in Heidelberg this last weekend and had a wonderful experience! Check in was seamless, room was comfortable, spacious, and clean. Breakfast was great too and all of the employees were kind, accommodating and helpful. To top it off the location cannot be beat!

Great little hotel in a perfect spot for walking around Heidelberg. Rooms are on the small side and basic but really have everything you need when you are in town to see the town. The rooms were very clean with comfortable beds, good AC, and a modern bathroom. Plus there is a great breakfast! We will stay here again if we are fortunate enough to be back some day.

This was a very reasonably priced guesthouse. Everything is sparkling clean and very minimalist. We had a budget room without a view to the outside. It was completely fine, particularly when considering the cost. Other rooms were much larger and nicer, but also more expensive. The prices are very fair. ||||Breakfast was very nice and definitely is a good reason to choose this hotel. ||||The location is lovely, in the pedestrian area of old Heidelberg, just off the Hauptstrasse, the main pedestrian street. The area is very charming and well worth a stay.||||The staff are very helpful and kind. I would stay here again.

Yelp
very good atmosphere, friendly chef and service and the most important is the food itself. We really had a good time and enjoy the professional service. Would love to drop again with good friends but unfortunately it is not open on Sundays. Definitely would love to try next time.

Yelp
We had an excellent dinner here on a very busy Saturday night. The service was very professional, the back room was pleasant (though not as charming as the front room). I had the Zanderfilet (pike perch) with a fried potato crust and a cream sauce. Very good. For dessert, I had the mini dumpling stuffed with plum purée with vanilla sauce.
Reservations recommended.

Yelp
There are a couple of Michelin star restaurants in the area, but we decided to go to this one instead and were very happy with our decision (it's actually a "bib gourmand" -- which means its recommended by Michelin judges for a more budget-conscious eater). The atmosphere isn't too imposing or fancy, while still being very nice. The service is friendly and prompt. The wine is really good: I recommend trying the local Heidelberger pinot gris (grauburgunder), if a 40-euro bottle is in your budget -- but there are cheaper options as well. Of the entrees, our favorite was the red mullet (fish), but nothing anyone ordered was anything less than great. The salmon appetizer was also fantastic. And as my friend will attest, the vegetarian options here are also really good.
