What a great vibe, whether it's busy and packed or slow and laid back. Great beverages, really good food (they've got a new ranch dip on the horizon...) and great service, friendly atmosphere, and fun events/activities/music! The backyard is so comfy, inside is super retro cool, and vintage arcade games y'all! Support local for your hangout with friends.

This bar is very unassuming from outside. Majority of the parking is in the back. However, on a busy evening, parking can be hard to come by. You walk into a backyard setting with tables, chairs and some games to partake in. There are fire pits available colder weather evenings. Inside is quite the maze. Depending on which door you come through, you may find yourself in a small dining area, bar or stage. But they can all be accessed by turning through various hall corners. There's a second floor with tables and gmes as well. You can overlook the edge to watch someone playing at the stage. I have visited with live bands and other nights with live trivia. This venue is fun and relaxing.

2nd time coming here. First time sitting indoors. This place has a large selection of great beers and seltzers from many fantastic breweries from local to across California. The pizzas, sandwiches and nachos are really good and for a fairly cheap price as well. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a large outdoor seating area with outdoor games. The inside has a downstairs and upstairs. Upstairs has larger booth style tables and board games to play and also has a large shuffleboard in the center. Great place all around. We will go here many more times for sure.

First time I have been here, so I did not know what to expect. I was pretty impressed. Very nice setup, with good indoor and outdoor options. Some game options both inside and outside. What I liked the most is that there are many small areas to just sit and relax as well as good areas for bigger groups. There was a good selection of beers and drinks. We were there after dinner so we did not plan to eat much The pretzel was pretty, not the best I have ever had, but we ate the whole thing.

This place has an amazing atmosphere. Great place to hang out with friends. The music upstairs was a little loud. It was hard to hold a conversation. Once the band started, it didn't matter, though. They were great, and I loved every song they played! I had the fig pizza, and it was DELICIOUS. It's pretty much self-service. Go order your food, go order your drinks and bring them back to your table. There's a fire pit and yard games outside. A lot of fun.

Little did we know back in the 1990s that the place we got Senior year pictures done, would turn into the cool hangout place. It feels like a friend's backyard with vintage folding chairs, picnic tables, and live music. Add in great beer and pizza... and it's a perfect night. You gotta go when Vince Warner plays!

New hang out in south old town, food wasn’t anything special but good. Not a full bar but has two of them , lots of beer options & non alcoholic drinks as well. One inside and one outside. A ton of tables in the “Backyard “. Very chill,Live music everyday at 7pm. No dance floor. But has a cool upstairs.

This place is a gem! Drinks, food, staff, and atmosphere, everything is perfect here and is definitely our favorite bar. Not kid friendly so we can't go as often as we would, but we go here every chance we have.

5/14/25 Getting lunch! Talk about a hidden gem everyone! Really Great! Looks like a tiny little house, but once you walk in...it's HUGE! Cute GREAT, large backyard too! Huge tree and plenty of room! Greeted by nice worker and ordered the turkey bacon ranch sandwich. No mayo, no ranch and upgraded to their potato salad. Also got a Reese's chocolate cookie that was a teaser at the register and looked Great for dinner. Paid for order and worker handed me a buzzer to go off when it was ready. Checked it out. Really in awe of this place! Nothing like you expect from the outside. Even a pretty large bar in the back. Besides the GREAT Backyard. Bartender greeted and was very kind too! Sat back there until my order buzzed. Calm and Great atmosphere with birds chirping. Love! Shortly later, buzzed, went to pick it up and received with a thank you! Lunchtime! Ate at home. Definitely eating there next time! It's A LOT! 1/2 is plenty! Turkey bacon Sandwich was fresh & DELICIOUS! Potato salad was seasoned, tasty & flavorful! Dinner looks Great to share for later too! Good service & GREAT lunch! Highly recommended!

Walking in, you'd never expect this place to be as big as it is, but there's so much room to explore! The backyard social clubhouse is exactly that--a perfect hangout spot with an amazing atmosphere and even better drinks. The food is wholesome and just makes you feel good. They always have music playing, from live bands to open mic nights, plus extra games to play and plenty of cozy spaces to kick back. On top of all that, the service is fantastic! The staff is always so friendly and genuinely seems to love what they do, which makes the experience even better. This spot is a true hidden gem, and I love coming here every time!

This place is walking distance from my work I like to go on Sundays cause I'm off at 8 and it's the next lot over , good beer selection and the ambiance is cool. Emily suggested the pesto pizza I had only had the pepp before and 5/5 so good . Service is always great they work as a team well at that spot .

Amazing food and Amazing Service, All around good vibe . Live music is a bonus. Beers on tap A+ , Bartenders are very knowledgeable on beers I'm definitely coming back for another round.

I've been here twice and what a cool hangout spot this is! The backyard has a lot of seating and out door games to play. Upstairs inside the club there are more games and plenty of seating. They have live bands that come play. Service is great. Beer is good. Haven't tried the food but it looks good! The only downside is a small parking lot in the back, but other than that, good place to hangout with a group of friends!

We had a great time here! I'd heard of the Backyard but had heard it was a renovated home/backyard and didn't "get it." It definitely didn't look like a renovated house to me but it's a fun spot! The backyard is actually the star here, lots of great shade and seating, some games and sooo much good beer. They even had a shelf with cans of Off! to keep the bugs away. When we visited last weekend, we came to see a live band - they were GREAT. We sat at bar which was the area where the band played. It was fairly small but they made it work. There is also a small upstairs area with more seating and games. They also have a decent sized menu with pizzas, sandwiches, a few salads and other appetizer type food. I think we just opted for the wrong choices. My salad was great, just not good food for eating at a bar while watching a show haha. We and our friends also ordered the pork verde nachos. These were the most disappointing. The meat was kind of dry - the verde insinuated sauciness to all of us but nope, it wasn't and I don't even know why it was in the name. Later we also ordered the giant pretzel and that thing was delicious with enough mustard and cheese sauce for the whole thing. Customer service was great , every bartender we encountered was friendly and gave great service. Food was the only reason I knocked off a star. We are looking forward to coming back.

Lots of beer selection, they have several on tap and a cooler filled with craft beer. Outside is very welcoming lots of retro chairs to sit and a beautiful big tree. We were there during the day but we heard it's a Poppin place at night. Both bartenders were as sweet as can be.

Came here on a Friday night. There was live music playing-- which was a nice surprise. This place has an assortment of beers on tap, everything on the menu u sounded so good. The beer I chose was cold and very refreshing. Ample seating inside and outside, very spacious. A great spot to catch up with friends or a date night.

Fourth time here. I have to say-- it's perfect! In a town lacking third spaces, the Backyard Social Club is a great place to hang out with friends and meet new ones! There's a wide selection of craft beers and a few seltzers. There's bartenders are great at their jobs and the kitchen staff rocks it too. I love that you can either be in the action with live music inside, or go outside to relax by the campfire. If you're over 21, take your friends here the next time you go out. My only wish is it were open later!

I've now been here a few times in the past couple months and love it! Such a chill, comfy environment inside & outside. Inside has an older vibe to it. Bar, tables , booth options and stage for live music. Outside has so many tables, chairs and benches. Option to bring your own stuff and rent a grill. Games. Outside stage. It literally feels like you're in a backyard. Service has always been great! All the bartenders have been so sweet and organized. Great food/drink options! They have several beers/selzers on tap and so many cans to choose from! Food is just kind of bar/snacky vibe. Typically an older crowd, which I'm a little surprised, maybe it's the area?? No complaints just an observation. This is such an easy go to, especially with a bigger group! I'm sure I'll be back soon!

First time here! This place is super cool. I love the whole laid back, chillin in the backyard vibes. When we first arrive we were a bit confused about the parking but saw the signs that we could park in the back. You can enter through the front or the back. They have games in the back, and even a grill if you'd want to bbq. They have a restaurant and on the other side the bar with seating and stage for when they have performers. You can also walk upstairs. Didn't get to go up there but I assume there may be seating or it's for viewing the performers. The staff is nice and attentive. I enjoyed my beers, but the one thing that's not the best is the menu. It rotates too fast. Cool place forsure! I want to try their food next time!

Super super super cool bar!! Such a vibey place. Live music, a loft, games, and an awesome outside area with a fireplace, ping pong, beer pong, and a TV. Plus they even had an outside cat that seemed to hang out. Drinks + food were pretty pricey but tasted great. Bartenders were super kind. I want to spend every night of the week here.

Great place to eat drink and relax it's hot sometimes but that's what it's like to live in California only complaint is sometimes if it's loud it's hard to get the bartender's attention but I don't mind the wait

I absolutely love this place. The view is amazing, super chill, they have added things to the back and inside, the games, the firepits, the window service, the food, I mean, it is just so fun here. We have come multiple times, seen good bands, met friends, and just so chill and fun.

Amazing atmosphere for the gang of friends to hang out and have a few drinks. When the weather is good, I can imagine this place would be packed if not then more space for people to sit and hang. The bar is inside and there is sitting in there too. All my years in Clovis, I totally have been missing out though I'm not a big drinker, this is a place to just go and shoot the breeze with buddies. I know that everyone else had no complaints and they appreciated the atmosphere here. Most everyone that came to hang wasn't even from Clovis. I believe they would recommend this place also.

Great friendly service from the bartenders to the restaurant side. The backyard area has games like corn hole, beer pong, table tennis along with lots of seating a tv and fire pit. Outdoor bar with different selection of beers and an arcades. Upstairs loft has a tv, lots of seating and a shuffleboard table. Nice size bar with a wide selection of beers. They have a good size food menu as well but we just stopped by to check it out and have a drink. Will be returning soon to hang out again!

I love this place! The atmosphere, the bartenders, the fellow patrons. Everyone is very relaxed, chill, no awkward entrance, no regulars that get more attention like (wink, wink) across the street. The house band rocks I love upstairs and it's like being in a fun backyard that you would want to design at your own place. All smiles and no drama. Yes!!!

Left Hacienda Tequila because of lack of service. Off to another restaurant and found this place open. Walking into the yard found many people socializing and having a great time. I totally dig the atmosphere! All workers were very friendly. Decided to get a few things on the menu, which is primarily bar food, but what really stood out was the Chili Verde Nachos and the Chili Cheese Dog. The Good: Great atmosphere, great music, good vibes The OK: The food Needs work: Guy that took my food order gave me pulled pork nachos instead of Verde. He also didn't listen well, as I told him to open a tab. The person who poured the single beer charged me for two. We resolved it though. As others commented, it is somewhat confusing with no real direction. I am really hoping this place gets better with time and has the opportunity to earn two more stars from me. I will definitely be back!

Went during a rainy night, parking is towards the back and the entrance is by the backyard. The backyard is gorgeously arranged. It's two stories, not sure if there's a bar as well on the second floor. They always have live music going on, they got a couple of tables on the first floor if you choose to not sit by the bar. Amazing customer service from our lovely lady bartender. Their drinks range from IPA(some from crown wolf) ciders and meads. They also have beer on tap. They got the menu on a big screen as well as on a booklet. I did not get to try their food. Definitely a place to chill with friends any day

My husband and I had our wedding reception here and the staff, food, ambiance... literally everything... was perfect. It definitely wasn't a traditional reception, and it may not work for everyone, but the space/vibes worked perfectly for our event. I couldn't recommend hosting a party here enough. The managers were so easy to work with and the staff went above and beyond to make sure our guests had an amazing time. This place is a gem and I can't wait to come back for a future trivia night!

I just picked up the art work I did last week. They have live Music 7 days a week and Fantastic Pub food and Great company. If you have not been here yet you need to checkout. Friendly atmosphere and art with Ali is always an Amazing time.

Worse than a frat house after a night of parties! Dirty, rude , nasty staff and owner especially! Worse conditions than I've ever seen at bar The "backyard " is so gross I feel like I need a tetanus shot

Went for trivia . Very cute outside space. It definitely gives you backyard vibes. Love the pond. My first time there and parking was kinda hard to find without circling around. Should have signs. Also parking is really small. Should be sign telling people it's ok to park in hotel for extra parking. Didn't try food. But it looked good

It's definitely one of my favorite spots here in town. Great beers and customer service is A++++. Very nice people. You can't got wrong with anything on the menu. Kudos to Nick who made my burger..

I've been wanting to check this place out since we live very close but it looked quiet from out front. It didn't seem like there were many customers there. Boy was I wrong and seriously been missing out. Loved everything about this place. After pulling in and driving to the back parking lot, I realized majority of the parking was in the back. Our first time going was the day of the Clovis Taps and Brews Trail. The parking lot was full but surprisingly the place was very roomy. I get a little anxious in very crowded bars but the layout was awesome. So many areas to hang out and change up the ambiance. There was a backyard that made us feel like we were hanging out at someone's beautiful backyard with a fountain, pond, fire pit and a beautiful tree. There was grass space with picnic tables and cornhole games. There is a back bar outside that operates during peak hours I believe. Connected to the outside bar was a small arcade with a couple dart boards. There is a separate place away from the bar for food. Love the concept of having a separate little restaurant. Smelled like pizza when we walked into check it out. I can't leave a review on the food since we did not eat any, but it did smell really good. You can take your food and enjoy it anywhere aside from the food area. As you enter the bar, we realized there were still plenty of areas to hang out. There were some tables and booths close to the bar. I believe they aren't serving liquor, just beer. But that's fine. There were many selections and some from local breweries. I got a South Gate Pumkineer from Oakhurst. Very tasty! As we walked on, the band was playing so we walked upstairs and seen even more seating and a shuffleboard table. You can even watch the band from upstairs. There was also a coffee table spot with different board games you could take out and play. The different cup holders here and there were a nice added touch. I noticed the staff really being on top of keeping everything clean and picking up the glasses often. Tables were constantly being cleaned. Everything was very tidy. We sat outside listening to the water fountain and the music and got a sense of relaxation and peace. The building does not resemble a business but more of a beautiful home feel from out back. We are so happy to have found this place. It'll definitely be a favorite of ours now. As we were leaving, we seen an area where people were playing table tennis. Now I'm wondering if there was something else we may have missed. Very fun and different concept for a bar. Absolutely loved the layout and different options for hangout spots. We're looking forward to visiting again soon!

Seen this open over the summer and been meaning to go and finally did! Such a cute spot! Love the string rope lights across the entire back patio (which is huge!). Very spacious and roomy with a bunch of different activities. Ping pong, corn hole, fire pit, picnic tables, and more! The food was good! The combo pizza was so good, had a cheese pull too! Inside the bar they had a live band and 2 levels. Shuffle board, board games and more! Was pretty loud inside but it was still fun. Only down side was there's only beer and seltzers :( I'm a liquor person but the Zombie Killer seltzer was pretty good! The bartender was soo nice! She helped me pick out drinks and gave me a few to test from. Must check it out! Good times!

What makes this place cool is how weird and awkward the building is. It looks like a converted home with the walls knocked out. The bar is in what looks like it was a dining room. The kitchen is still the kitchen, and the living room is where the stage is. Bar service was very quick and friendly. The beers on tap are local. More beer options are available in can or bottle form. It pretty much a bar business that is in somebody's house. There is a backyard, and people can socialize there when the band is too loud inside. It's cool and we will be there again.

Enjoyed our first visit here during opening weekend. Their Instagram is updated often with live music and it looks like they are keeping busy. I would like to go back and enjoy the backyard area with the cool autumn weather on the way. It is a huge space with lots of seating options and a ping pong table ! And other games. The indoor area is interesting and has many unique and eye catching decor and photo opportunities. Friendly service on a busy Saturday afternoon. I really enjoyed the turkey sandwich I ordered , planed on eating half and saving half -nope! It was too delicious! Lots of fun pub style foods I want to try on their menu. Nachos !! Went last night for my high school reunion. Loved the backyard setting. Back in the 80's this place was a popular under 18 hangout called Zacks. It has been many things over the years, from a florist/gift shop to a photography studio. The bartenders and staff are super friendly. My only complaint is that they don't offer wine. Im not a beer drinker but had a great lemonade cider.

This place is amazing! The ambiance is unbeatable and the service is home grown and familiar...they recognize you and are always glad when you return A very special place.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!!! Everyone was so awesome and attentive to us and you can not find that hospitality anywhere! The pizza was super yummy and their beer selection is fantastic! Definitely a spot we will come back to when we are in the area!

We went on Sunday around noon. Very nice outside area, very nice bar service. From our experience, 4/5 recommended. Thanks for the nice shade and cold drink. Minus 1 start because the beer and the glasses were not as cold as they could have been. Don't get me wrong, it was cool, but it could have been colder.

Such an awesome vibe to hang out, relax and have a cold beer. They have limited menu items including things like pulled pork, nachos, hot dogs, pizzas, salads and sandwiches. But the main draw is just the relaxed comfortable environment with spacious indoor seating and outdoor seating for tons of microbrews

Great music and craft beer selection! The backyard area is perfect for a night sunny day! Service is always on point! Highly recommend this place for an afternoon or afternoon work hang out!

We recently had a wedding celebration at the Backyard Social Club on a Monday. We kind of took over the loft and part of the first floor. The staff were all terrific, quick, cheerful, polite, fun and accommodating. They slipped in and out of the milling guests and met our needs, most of the time before we had to ask for refills, etc. The fries were addictingly delicious and our pizza assortment hit the right notes for a crowd with the crisp cold salad. A special shout out to Michelle and Amanda, but the other gents and gals were great as well, just did not get their names. The public guests were tolerant of our large group and cheered on the festivities. Our hired small group band was just right and the gentleman that followed on the keyboard was a great mellow follow up. Turkey & Gravy, the patio cats, added a cool unobtrusive vibe to the outdoor area. We would return for another event, a music night or just a great place to have a cold one at the bar. The space has a vibrant retro 70's vibe without too much funk in the funky, approachable. We were very happy with this venue choice!! (The only thing missing was an elevator to the loft.)

Love love the BYSC .... The pizza is amazing, the beer is great and the service is even better! Such a nostalgic vibe and the music is so so good!! Check it out if you have not been, you won't be disappointed

Eclectic place which serves beer and Seltzers. Great music and set up for any kind of games you want. There were board games, a shuffleboard table, a ping pong table, etc. There was lots of space indoors and out. Great place to hang out with friends! They have food too (Sandwiches) but I didn't try it so I can't give a rating for that.

This is such a sick place! They have everything here to hangout with friends! So many fun games and activities! Honestly I'm kinda upset that it took me so long to discover this place but I'm going to be here all the time now! Absolutely love the vibes and the atmosphere! You have to try this place out!

Vibes here were amazing on the weekend! The service here is great as well, very friendly and it was nice chatting with the staff. I was recommended to try the Bines of Death IPA, and it didn't disappoint at all. It was clean, smooth, piney, and slightly citrusy to be honest. Great choice for hanging out with friends.
